1. Is it possible to "Clear Answer" ALL Review widgets in a book at once?
2. Is there a way to tabulate ALL Review questions in a book? In a chapter? "22 Correct 8 Wrong"

The NOTES are set. I have a summary page at the end of each section. Users can do several things there, one of which is now adding a note. NOTE text appears near the footer of each page. It is preset to be a note so all the user has to do is tap it and type in what they want. It's a small but beneficial adaptation. I eliminated the pop-over button.
A book with a lot of questions is shaping up nicely.

You can install the new hard disk yourself if you want to. You just need a 2'5" SATA II hard drive, which is compatible with your MacBook Pro. You can buy one at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/ You can filter hard drives by computer, so press a "Click to view all...", choose your computer in the sidebar and it will give you the compatible hard drives.
There are different brands for the MacBook Pro. The most recommended are HGST and Seagate, which have good reputation. A 7200 rpm hard drive will give you extra performance

When will a widget be developed for i Books that allows users of i books to type their answers to review questions in a 'text field' so that users are required to logically demonstrate deep conceptual understanding in science instead of merely guessing a simple multiple-choice answer, either A, B,C, D, or E to a simple, trivial factual recall 'intellectually shallow' question in secondary high school science?

QuickTime is not an app you can download to the iPad
However, many users have had success with an app called OPlayer HD to view their videos. And, there is a lite version so you can see if it'll work for you before plunking down the cash for the fancier version. VLC Media Player app is another possibility.

Review Question in Captivate 7

I have review questions throughout my course. I have them marked to not report in the quiz. I also have a quiz at the end. I have marked in my quiz preferences if the quiz is failed to go back to the beginning of the quiz questions. The problem is when you fail it goes back to my first review question in the module. Please help!!!

Retake/Review takes you to the beginning of the Quiz Scope and if you have also content slides in that scope, it is by design that everything is visited.
You can create a shared action, triggered on entering the first content slide (if all is linear) or entering each content slide (if not linear) that checks the value of cpQuizInfoAttempts (if you are at least at Attempt 2) and cpInReviewMode (to see if you are in Review mode) and based on that check jumps immediately to the next question slide.
That is the explanation. I have already explained those steps in another thread a while ago, stopped blogging or it should already have been there.

Can I record/log the answers given for the review questions

Searched but did not find the answer to this.
Is it possible to record/log the answers given for the review questions at the end of each chapter. Logging to the device would be fine but logging to a remote server would be ideal?

Quiz Score Slide - Review Questions

Hi all,
I have put a number of discussions now and still can't seem to get this to work.
Once a user has completed the quiz and got to the quiz score slide to find out if they have passed or failed - for both I would like them to be able to 'review answers'. I know there is a review quiz but this just tells them what they got wrong or right and not why.
I have searched on Captivate and online to figure out how to make this work. I would like the user to be able to go through each slide and when there is a question they got wrong, there is an explanation for them.
Is this possible and how do I do it?

Hi there,
You can have a slide as an explanation slide next to your quiz slides. You can use a conditional advanced action under On Enter property of the explanation slide. With the help of a variable called cpQuizInfoLastSlidePointScored, you will check whether the last answer was correct or not and have the explanation slide show/hide accordingly. For example, if each question in your project has 10 points associated. The variable will check whether the last question slide scored points were equal to 10, if yes then jump to next question slide and if no then go to the explanation slide.
Here is how it will look in the advanced action window:
Where Slide 4 is the next question slide and Slide 3 is the explanation slide.

Application info- is this tracking the total amount of downloads of the actual application via itunes, or folio downloads? If folio downloads, what is the difference between the applicatoin info. and folio info.?
- First time launch is just that, first time launch of_____?
- Launches is total launches for ____?
Are hyperlinks, videos, etc. tracked uniquely or duplicates based on total amount of foilo and/or applicaiton metrics?
If a folio is no longer published, but a consumer has this still on their phone- are you tracking their actions, views still in metrics, or does it stop?
Is there an 800 for help on these topics?

Here are the responses:
1) iTunes can track app downloads. Once the app is downloaded, installed and launched for the first time, that is when DPS can track app first launch and startups. If readers download the app and never launch it, then you will find discrepancies between app download number from App Store and app first time launch number from DPS
2) after the consumer downloads the app from App Store, and launches it for the first time then this triggers DPS's "app first time launch" event.
3) this question is not clear. But here is some more info that could help. For folios that are not available for download, but if the folio has been previously downloaded - then as long as readers are reading the folio all folio related events will be tracked in DPS.

Clearing up a question

I've heard a lot of comflicting opinions about this problem so I was wondering if somebody here could clear it up for me.
Does the built in USB hub work with windows machines? I'm not planning on using high current devices, just USB keyboard and mouse to tidy up my desk.

Clearing Ram Technical Question

The source of my recent bother has been an apparent lack of RAM
Now it seems that for some reason my imac is not clearing RAM when I quit software
Only a restart seem to help ...which is a pain cos one would expect the OS to manage the RAM properly
I'm trying some software called iFreemem which makes a big difference
Anyone have any sulotions to this cos if there is one then I'm back in the happy L9 camp again

Make it a habit to start Logic first after booting, before any other program. RAM can get fragmented if you have several apps running and then quit , (Web browser, PDF viewer, etc).
However, a restart should not be too much of a chore, an Imac should be able to reboot within a minute. If it takes much longer, you need to unleash some maintenance utilities, or take a hard look via activity monitor on what apps are actually running (in the background).

2. What are function modules in general terms. i.e. What is their role?
3. How do I see all function module available?
4. When is function module used instead of ABAP program?
5. How do they help in the support and monitoring of Process Chains?

Function module return a value ( most of the time), they return some value either a single value of rane of value or even a table. Example: FM to return fiscal period gieven the fiscal vaeiant and system date.

Go to Se37 and this is function builder. You will find FM starting with RS* more useful. You cna also create your own in Se37.
4. When is function module used instead of ABAP program?
In addtion to answer I gave in 3 above, program is used to check some logic and update some tables or give screen output.
You may note FM is also a program.
5. How do they help in the support and monitoring of Process Chains?
As I said, for monitoring chains, use Sm37 and logs in RSPC.

I am not clear what are you looking for.
You cna schedule a FM or a program to run in a chain. Is that what you mean?

Clearing up Sync Questions

This is my first post here, glad to be here and i apologise if i ask the same questions already answered 100 times before.
I manage a BES server (4.1?) that serves nine BB Bold's.
My boss is going over seas for an extended period and will not be able to easily or readily connect his cached mode exchange 2003 email client to get new emails, he has been told that it is possible to sync mail that arrives onto the blackberry to your outlook client, is this true?
I have followed instructions located here but these do not work, that is end result is not mail items syncing, only calendar, tasks, contacts and memo pad – no inbox/mail items. http://www.ehow.com/how_5507826_sync-blackberry-using-desktop-manager.html#
Why does the black berry desktop manager require internet access when you want to sync your blackberry to your outlook client?
Is it possible to sync mail items from the blackberry to the inbox of the outlook email client?

As you've found out already, the Desktop Manager does not sync emails. It will only synchronize those 4 databases that you mentioned earlier.
Emails only synchronize OTA if you're on a BES, hosted BES.
You could try using the Desktop Redirector. Check out this link

Calcscript Clear and Copy question

I am thinking of copying a scenario to another using a calcscript but I wonder whether I need to clear it first in case there's residual data but then I am not sure if it's really needed? I will use the sample.basic to illustrate.

Logically, if there's some residual data in "Budget" that's there, shouldn't it be overwritten by what is there in "Actual"? And in case where "Actual" has a #missing value, would #missing be copied over too? I am trying not to have to do this:

ENDFIX
"Budget" = "Actual";

Any thoughts whether I could save a few minutes not to have to clearblock?

doing it the way you plan, if you don't clar first you could have residual data. If you instead use the datacopy command, I believe it will copy over everything including missing
