Clear Windows local cache

Hi,
After a 10MB file transfer across a WAN from DC to branch office with WAEs in inline intercepting mode, i noticed subsequent transfers were exetremely fast even without the WAAS appliances interception. It appears Windows OS was also doing some local caching. I have checked and cleared the Temp Folder and it contents but there is no change.
Are there any other Windows Cache locations? How do I solve this?

Obiora,
The Windows redirector uses some caching operations for read and write requests, but there isn't a cache of the file that is kept.
Are you sure the WAEs were not handling the traffic?

  • How to clear Local-Cache Entries for a Query in BW?

    Hi There,
    i`m student und i need please your help for my Thesis!!
    I execute the same Query many times in BEx Web Analyzer und note a Query Response Time under ST03N using each time a different READ Mode and Cache Mode is inactiv (Query Monitor RSRT).
    First time i exectue the Query, it reads also from database, second time it uses the local Cache and  that `s okay!
    My problem is:
    When i change the Read mode and execute the Query again, it uses for the first run also the old entries from the Cache so i get wrong response time for the first run!!
    I know that while the mode cache inactiv , the local cache will still be used, so how can i delete the local cache entries each
    time i change the read mode and execute the Query? In Cache monitor (rsrcache) i find only entries for Global cache etc..
    I've already tried to close the session and login in to the System again but it doesn`t solve the Problem!!
    i don't have a permission (access rights) to switch off the complete Cache (local and global ).
    Any idea please??
    Thanks und Best Regards,
    Rachidoo
    P.S: sorry for my bad english!! i have to refresh it soon:)

    Hi Praba,
    the entries stored in RSRCACHE are for global cache, there is no entry for my query in Cache monitor!
    i execute the query in RSRT using java web button and cache mode inactiv so, the results will be stored in local cache.
    this is as below what i want to do for my performance tests in my Thesis:
    1. run a query for the first time with cache inactiv and note runtime of it
    2. run the query again with cache inactiv and note runtime of it
    3. clear the local cache (i don't know how to do it??)
    4. change the read mode of query in RSRT then run the same query for the first time and note runtime of it
    5. run the query again and note runtime of it.
    i'm doing the same procedure for each Read mode.
    the problem is in step 4 , The olap Processor gets the old results form the cache so i get wrong runtime for my tests.
    Generate the report doesn't help, any idea please?

  • 4.2 App errors after clearing local cache

    We have a user that cleared their local cache and now can not see the appset.  When going through the connection wizard, he had to type in the server again then finally got the appset to select.  Upon trying to create an evdre report, after typing in =evdre() then clicking expand it returns the following error:
    EVDRE:Disabled. Init cache first.
    We tried going through as slow connection in the connection wizard to see if that made any difference, but that didn't help.
    This user has been down for a full day now and I'm really struggling trying anything possible.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

    Have you tried logging on with the same user from another machine to see if that works fine? Just to see if it is server or client related. If you can logon from other machines with that user try to clear also clear Internet explorer cache and delete all the client files again. Also remove all the folders in MyDocuments that are not deleted with the "clear local application information".
    If you have this issue on all machines with this user try reprocessing te security or saving the application (I know this is not a very populair action, because it takes the appset offline some time...).

  • Firfox 8 is sometimes very slow to load random websites and others it loads quickly, IE8 loads all websites ok. Have cleared cookies and cache and allowed ff as exception in Windows firewall.

    I use FF 8.0 (x86en-US) as default browser, since update to 8.0 FF intermittently takes ages to load some websites, sometimes not loading the site at all. To rectify this I go back one page to the Google results or hyperlink and ask FF to load the webpage again. This usually solves the problem but not always. I have cleared cookies and cache and added FF to exceptions in windows firewall. The websites affected are not always the same and some that load quickly one day can take ages next time. IE8 loads all websites OK. Antivirus and malware scans all clear.

  • How can I clear the DNS cache?

    I haven't been able to connect to my local Library since January.  When I key in the URL, it starts the access routine and then after about 20 minutes, I have to kill it because nothing happens.  I contacted the IT folks at the library and was told that they had made a few changes around the time my problem began so maybe the DNS cache was still pointing at the old info.  He recommended that I enter TERMINAL mode and try to clear the DNS cache, using  "sudo dscacheutil -flushcache" command.   .  I attempted this several times, even changing my applid password, and kept getting invalid responses.

    I did try that and after a few trys it finally worked.  It took quite awhile for the window for the library to finally come up, but it did and I am now able to get in and out with no problems with my library access.  Now when I call up my bank, parts of it don't come up and it kicks me out.  Now, I'll have to search for what fixes that - as it has happened before, so I know it's fixable.  Thanks for you help though.

    I have tried everything I can think of, and everything on every thread I've found on related topics. No luck. If I try to start the service myself via services.msc I get the following message:
    The Windows Font Cache Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some Services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi micrey! It works!
    1. Type “services.msc” into the Start Search
    bar and hit Enter.
    2. Find the Windows Font Cache Service, select
    it and hit “Stop”.
    3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to “C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local”
    requires admin privileges
    4. Delete the FontCache dat files. (They will
    be regenerated over time.)
    5. Restart the Windows Font Cache Service.
    Thank you!

  • Java Local Cache Outperformed C++ Local Cache in 3.6.1

    Currently I'm using same local cache configuration to publish 10000 record of a portable object and retrieve same item few times from both Java and c++ client with oracle coherence 3.6.1 version. I'm using linux x86 version for both java and c++.
    Results from Java : 3 Micro Seconds (best Case), 4-5 Micro Seconds (Average Case)
    Results from C++ : 7 Micro Seconds, 8-9 Mirco Seconds (Average Case)
    When we have local cache for both Java and C++ data retrival latency ideally should be same. But I was able to witness 4 Mirco Second lagging in c++. Is there any sort of c++ configuration which I can improve the perfromance to reach at least 4-5 Micro Seconds.
    My local cache configuration is as follows.
    <local-scheme>
    <scheme-name>local-example</scheme-name>
    </local-scheme>
    So in underneath coherence implementation it uses Safe HashMap as the default (As the documentation). Please let me know if i'm doing something wrong?

    I'm really concerned about the performance. 1 Micro seconds is very much valuable for me. If you could reduce it to 5 micro seconds then it would be a great help for me. I'm building above code by following release arguments.
    "g++ -Wall -ansi -m32 -O3"
    Following file is my test script
    ------------ test-data.txt ---------------
    #cache type - data load - read attempts - skip first - read value
    local-orders 10000 5 1 1
    # dist-extend 1,100,10000 5 1 1
    # repl-extend 1,100,10000 5 1 1
    You can uncomment one by one and test different caches with different loads.
    Thanks for the reply

  • Multiple AIR apps with the same local cache?

    Hi guys,
    Is it possible to create multiple AIR apps (for mobile & desktop) that can use the same local cache?
    For example: 2 apps for iPad will use the same data store (local cache). If we synchronize (with LCDS) and get all the data for 1 application, if we open the second application, can we access the data set from the other application?
    Thx!

    Hi Vikram,
    Eventhough I think it is techincally not possible, even if it was I would not recommend doing this. I think this is asking for problems and you can wait for the day that somebody messes up your production system, thinking it is DEV.
    I would use names like DEV_Oracle_BI_DW_Base and PRD_Oracle_BI_DW_Base, to clearly distinguish between the environments. But then again, I think Informatica forces you to use different names.

    i could not able to use follwoing Clear the Browser Cache

    Hi,
    I have a problem with pdf file also, everything working fine in IE and
    netscape, but when I tried the streaming of pDF document from my
    servlet in response to a request from Opera browser it failed.
    the url may give some idea,
    http://localhost:8080/pdf/pdfdownload?PDF_FILE=abc.pdf
    here pdfdownload is my servlet, and code I used to stream like following
    public service(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse)
    ServletContext sc=getServletContext();
    String mimeType=sc.getMimeType((String)
    req.getParameter("PDF_FILE"));
    res.setContentType(mimeType);
    File pdf=new File((String)req.getParameter("PDF_FILE"));
    res.setContentLength((int)pdf.length());
    InputStream in=new FileInputStream(pdf);
    OutputStream os=res.getoutputStream();
    byte[] buf=new byte[1024];
    int count=0;
    while(in.available>0)
    count=in.read(buf);
    os.write(buf,0,count);
    the detailed code kept out for simplicity, but the idea is pretty
    much is this.
    Now, opera opening the stream for a file name pdfdownload and
    storing locally and then opening my acrobat reader, the second
    time if called it trying to create another file by name
    pdfdownload (1)? xxxx where ? is an unknown character, this is
    where it's failing, unable to create the file so failing to open
    the pdf file. what best process would be to follow in servlet so
    the streaming works in all browser, I have seen many link in sun
    sites, opening up pdf but it seems they all are stream, and my
    opera can identify their size and file name distinctly and saving
    them accordingly, any solution ???
    thanks

  • How do I clear windows in quicktime?

    When you right click the QT icon, a list of the last movies watched shows up. How do I clear this list of windows? "Open Recent- clear menu" doesn't do it. Clearing recent items in the system menu doesn't do it either. I seem to recall a way to push something and right click on the QT icon that then gives you a choice to clear windows in the popup menu, but I can't remember what it is.

    don't do it.  It will make your mac slower.  If you insist:
    Clear cache in Lion
    Open a finder window and select “Go to Folder” in the Go menu
    Type in ~/Library/Caches
    This is optional, but you can highlight & copy everything to a different folder in case anything goes wrong.
    Highlight everything and press CMD and Backspace
    Restart your machine

  • Folder redirection with Offline files enabled - Can I change the location of the locally cached files?

    I have a 2012 r2 server setup with folder redirection and offline files enabled. All this works perfectly.
    As you probably know, the local cache for offline files is stored at c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\servername\
    The problem I have run into is that one user (who cannot be told to delete files cough ceo cough) has a very large documents folder, and a small SSD drive for his C drive. So the offline files are filling up his SSD. He wants all his files to be synced,
    so decreasing the max disk usage is also not an option.
    What I would like to do is move the Offline files to his D drive which is a large drive, however I have been unable to find any official method for doing this. Is there any provision to change this?
    If not, would it work to move the entire \servername\ path to the d drive and then create a junction at c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\servername\ that points to d:\servername\?
    Thanks,
    Travis

    Hi,
    The following article is for Windows Vista but it should work at least in Windows 7.
    How to change the location of the CSC folder by configuring the CacheLocation registry value in Windows Vista
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937475
    Meanwhile creating a symbolic link should also work like:
    mklink /d "C:\Windows\CSC" "D:\CSC"
    Note: It will create d:\csc folder so you do not need to manually create it.
    Note 2: As mentioned above, you may need to re-sync the offline files. Personally I also think robocopy will not work.

  • Collaboration: DW overwriting files from local cache?

    How do I keep Dreamweaver from overwriting newer files on the
    server, wen those files were changed by another user?
    I have a PHP-driven site built for a client. i do most of the
    maintenance, but the client needs to update the text of some pages
    frequently as information changes rapidly. So, she edits the pages
    in DW.
    The problem is that often I'll change file A myself, and then
    when she edits file B, DW will quietly overwrite file A with an old
    version. I changed her setup to an ftp-only site (no local copy),
    and the problem actually got worse ... now it overwrites all files
    with old version EVERY time she saves any file! The best I can tell
    is it uses some hidden local cache, and always overwrites server
    files from the cache, even when the server file is newer.
    Is it possible to disable the cache? This client is on DW 8.
    Thanks.

    It sounds as though what's happening is that the other person
    is
    selecting the option to upload dependent files.
    I don't have Dreamweaver 8 installed any more, but the option
    that
    controls the upload of dependent files is in Preferences
    (Edit menu on
    Windows, Dreamweaver menu on a Mac). I'm pretty sure it works
    the same
    way as in CS4. Select the Site category, and uncheck both
    options for
    Dependent files.

  • LV2012 Out of Memory Bug when Clearing Compiled Object Cache

    Here is some LV2012 weird behaviour when clearing the compiled cache and having a project with source code separated from the binaries.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open a VI in a fairly large LV project
    2. With the VI open, clear the compiled cache:
    3. Close the VI.
    4. Open the VI
    5. Watch the broken arrow and the LV Out of Memory bogus.

    Roger,
    i tracked down the issue to "ExecutionBenchmark1.lvclass:Load Core.vi" and "ExecutionBenchmark2.lvclass:Load Core.vi". If removing both VIs from the main, it is compilable.
    Since those VIs have their blockdiagram removed, they have to include their compilation in order to be executable. I expect this to be the source of the issue.
    Can you please check if using the default VI "Load Core" for both classes work as long as LV is able to recompile those while creating the object file for the main?
    thanks,
    Norbert
    Yep, still reproducible on my 32 bit Windows 7 home machine. Attached is the fixed code.
    Also, my suspicion was right. If you try to save a project in a out of memory condition, the saved project will always display an out of memory error due to a missing block diagram.

    After upgrading to Netweaver7.0 SP15 we started getting these errors messages in the portal defaultTrace logs.

    It doesn't appear to be a fatal error but it gets logged constantly when users access BI iViews (Bex, Bex Web Analyzer, etc). We've been running like this for a couple of weeks. Last night the server ran out of shared memory. Restarting Oracle and SAP BI cleared up the problem for now. Any number of things could have caused that problem but this error appears to be related to shared memory (ShmCache).
    We've been unable to locate any information about this exception. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
