Clearing Messages - SLOW

Anyone notice that clearing bundle messages is a painfully slow process? There's no progress, just seemingly hangs there, but wait long enough, things will return and show that the messages have been deleted. This seem to happen with one or multiple messages.

Curious, do you run maintenance on your database? Like running backup's as stated in the documentation as to truncate the transaction logs and also check and de-fragment the dib from time to time? (this is related to Sybase as Oracle has it's own particular maint requirements).
I'm also curious to the size of the database and log files.
Also, would be good to know a bit more about your environment(s), like which version of ZCM are you running, where is the database running (physical/virtual), what OS and is it embedded or remote (in the case or Sybase), how many devices are being managed and which management features are in use?

    thunderbird is indexing every time I click on a message (slow). I've deleted global-messages-db.sqlite. compacted. let it rebuild the db. Version 24.4
    McAfee shield stays busy the entire time it's indexing. I also deleted about 80% of the messages it was trying to reindex. No joy.
    Thanks

    I have been having this same problem: but it does not appear to have been due to my antivirus (Comodo). In my case the system is not just slow: the indexer seems to hang permanently. I suspected file corruption in one of my inboxes. But, whereas the Activity Manager gives the name of the sub-folder it is currently working on, it does not appear to report the name of the inbox.
    So to trace the corrupt file I had to keep moving emails from my inboxes to sub-folders until the system was able to give me the name of the sub-folder it was working on. Then, by shuffling emails between folders, I was finally able to identify the offending message. This was extremely tedious and time-consuming, as I had to restart Thunderbird every time I did a reshuffle in order to re-initialise the indexing process. The culprit turned out to be a copy of a phishing email I had previously reported. I'm guessing it contained intentionally bad data that confused the indexing system.
    However, it seems that this wasn't the only corrupt file: so I've yet to test all my other inboxes when I've got several more hours available,
    A problem like this would be much easier to trace if the indexer always clearly identified which folder it was examining or attempting to index, e.g. by prefixing the inbox with the mailbox folder name. That way one could tell immediately which inbox or sub-folder was the source of the problem.

  • Open order value not cleared Message: ORB 015

    Hi All,
    I have checked and searched for solution before poting this discussion, but not found anything relelvant to my problem.
    While closing Project in CJ20N, I am getting an error message as -
    Open order value not cleared
    Message: ORB 015
    It seems issue with incoming orders (sales orders), so I have run CJA1, and in output it is showing Processed object count as 1 but no detail log available for this.
    Also in Settlement nothing is appearing to settle.
    One thing I observed that one of the sales order linked with Project is rejected.
    Can somebody assist me in resolving this issue?
    Thank You,
    Swapnil Kharul

    Hi Swapnil,
    There are 2 things you can check here..
    1) Is this the first time you are trying to settle incoming orders for the said Project/WBS? I mean did you ever run CJA1/CJA2 and CJ88 post that for this project? You can check this in KE24 report. Check if you find any entries for record type I. If there are any it means settlement of incoming orders is being done.
    2) For the said WBS hit Ctrl+F3 and check if there is a settlement rule maintained for Incoming Orders. On the settlement rule screen you will see a button "Incoming Orders". Click on that see if a rule is maintained.

  • Trx F-53, The difference is too large for clearing Message no. F5263

    Hi,
    I created a PO, then I posted the goods receipt, the invoice and I was trying to
    post the payment by F-53 trx.
    When I select an open item from the list and I try to simulate the posting by the menu (Document, simulate), system replies by:
    "*The difference is too large for clearing
    Message no. F5263*"
    Cannot understand why it is not possible to post the outgoing payment
    Regards

    Dear Sappione,
    did You check the tolerances?
    Check in transaction OBY6 the indicator 'No forex rate diff. when
    clearing in LC' is not set the amount is converted with the exchange
    rate valid at clearing date, in case You're clearing in LC a foreign document.
    When you post a clearing transaction with rounding
    differences, those differences are posted to an additional line item
    GL accounts. This account determination is customized as follows :
    FBKP - Exchange rate differences -
    Exchange rate difference in open items - KDF -a/c XXXXXXXXX
    (Realized gain exchange rate difference)
    The accounts used for rounding differences when clearing
    are the realized gain/loss exchange rate accounts.
    please check all the 3 suggestions.

    You may like to try using a well known, stand-alone, email application PegasusMail that has been available for many years.   I don't know which applaiction you are using but PMail can be run quite independently.    I have used it since 1995.   See < http://www.pmail.com/
    It has a distriburion list facility and having looked at the help file (as below) will accept thousands of addresses

    Creating a distribution list
        See also:    Distribution list options
    To create a distribution list, press <F6> and click on the New list button. A dialog will open prompting you for a ............................................................................................................
    System-wide lists   Pegasus Mail allows you to create distribution lists that are visible to all your users. It normally does this by creating the list file in the same directory as WINPM-32.EXE, but you can also specify alternative locations for system-wide files using Windows environment variables: for distribution lists, youwould create a Windows environment variable called PML, whose parameter is the path to the publicly-accessible directory where the list files should be stored. Note that you can create a personal distribution list then make it system-wide later on simplychecking the System-wide (visible to all users) control in the list's settings dialog. Similarly, you can convert a system-wide list into a personal list at any time by unchecking this control.
    To add addresses to your distribution list click in the address list area and either type in the addresses or select them from address books or the local user list. Make sure that you have only one address per line in the list. Any valid address  can be entered in the list, including addressbook aliases.
    The Pegasus Mail distribution list manager can handle many thousands of addresses.

  • Amount of mail messages slowing the app down?

    My mail app seems to be taking longer than before to fetch messages and I was wondering if it had anything to do with the amount of mail messages in my various mailboxes. Can someone tell me, should I be clearing out old mail messages or is it safe to let them pile up indefinitely? I have 900 plus messages in Inbox, 1400 in Sent box and approx 1500 messages in other personalised mail boxes. Is this too much and will it affect Mail's functionality?
    G5 DP 1.8   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    The number and combined size of all messages in an account's Inbox and Sent mailbox should not have any effect on the amount of time is takes to fetch new messages available at an account's incoming mail server but depending on how many rules you have created to sort reveived messages to user created mailboxes by cateogry and/or the number of Smart mailboxes will have an effect on the sorting process after all messages are downloaded.
    Using the Rebuild Mailbox function on the most active mailboxes on a regular basis - every couple of weeks or monthly depending on activity is a good idea and all email clients have limits.
    Check Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4 Mail: Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty.

  • How do I clear "Messages (Saved)" from Usage?

    I am currently running out of storage space from my iPhone and the largest storage user outside of Photos & Video is Messages.
    My Messages app currently has 1.1GB of data under General > Usage > Messages > Messages(Saved).
    I have tried various ways of clearing this including:
    1. Deleting ALL past conversations/SMS within my "messages" app and restarting the phone.
    I now have about 5 messages in my messages app but storage usage is still 1.1GB
    I have tried to start new conversations to see if somehow my past messages will reappear (and hence properly deleted) but they do not
    Resetting "Settings" (as advised by Apple Store Staff) and restarting the phone
    Backing up to computer, then restoring phone to factoring settings (also suggested by Apple Store Staff)
    By doing this i have managed to clear up a lot more space, HOWEVER, the Message storage is currently still at 1.1GB.
    When I plug in phone to iTunes, it says i have:
    1.15 GB in "Documents and other"
    1.04 GB in "Other"
    I think the Messages data should be part of the "Documents and Other" as i do not keep many documents / ebooks on the phone but i have no idea how to access and clear this?
    HLEP! I've no idea what to do next.

    you've probably sent a video or audio attachments to someone and those are the types of file that will eat up a lot of space  from your device. you said you only have 5 messages left, scroll up to the beginning of each messages because it could be a long conversation that you had , you might need to select " Load Earlier Messages" , just continue scrolling up till you find these files. touch and hold one of the multimedia  file then select "more...." then delete the file.

  • Clearing message area in Web UI

    Dear Experts,
    I have kept passport field as mandatory in account creation application. I am displaying custom error message if its not entered. Assume end user id not entering passport and fills other fields and presses enter. In EH_ONSUBMITONENTER event I am throwing custom error message prompting user to enter a value. Now user enters a passport no and directly presses SAVE(Note: He does not press ENTER). Now I display a confirmation popup to user. Issue is that the error message Enter passport no is still displayed in the background.
    Ideally I am trying to clear the error message in EH_ONSAVE but its not working out. I used below code,
    lr_msg ?= me->view_manager->get_message_service( ).
            CHECK lr_msg IS BOUND.
            DATA: lr_core TYPE REF TO cl_crm_bol_core,
                  global_message_cont TYPE REF TO cl_crm_genil_global_mess_cont,
                  lt_messages TYPE crmt_genil_message_tab,
                  ls_message TYPE crmt_genil_message.
            lr_core = cl_crm_bol_core=>get_instance( ).
            lr_msg->collect_messages( iv_message_type = if_genil_message_container=>mt_error iv_delete_read_messages = abap_false ).
            CALL METHOD lr_core->get_global_message_cont
              RECEIVING
                rv_result = global_message_cont.
            CALL METHOD global_message_cont->if_genil_message_container~get_messages
              EXPORTING
                iv_message_type = 'E'
              IMPORTING
                et_messages     = lt_messages.
            LOOP AT lt_messages INTO ls_message.
              CALL METHOD global_message_cont->if_genil_message_container~delete_messages
                EXPORTING
                  iv_msg_id     = ls_message-id
                  iv_msg_number = ls_message-number.
            ENDLOOP.
    In above code in table global_message_cont->if_genil_message_container~get_messages is not returning the error message into table lt_messages. Kindly share your inputs for the same. • Clear messaging cache

    When I go to type a persons name to text message them, as soon as I type the first letter for example T, it shows people's numbers and email address who I've deleted from my phone and they are all classified as OTHER number or OTHER email. How can I delete or clear this cache without having to do a full restore?

    Start typing an address as if you were going to send a new email.
    When you see the incorrect address pop up underneath, hit the i in the blue circle on the right (next to the incorrect address).
    Click on the red "Remove From Recents" line.
    The i in the blue circle will only pop up next to addresses that aren't stored in your contacts, so it's helpful in prevention of deleteing the wrong one.

  • Clearing message from log

    Hi..I checked the different threads in the forum but could not get an answer to this.
    I am using an implementation of the BADI - ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST, for making some custom checks during create / change Purchase order (Transaction - ME21n / ME22n).
    When there is an error, I issue a message using the macro -         mmpur_message_forced 'E' 'ZMM' '007' text-e09 '' '' ''.
    Also I am calling the below method to invalidate the item.
    CALL METHOD im_item->invalidate( ).
    This works exactly as required but the problem is, even after correcting the error I am not able to remove the issued error message from the log(the log is displayed when we press "Check").
    Could someone help me out?
    Thanks,
    Ram.

    Hi ,
    I think there is no need to clear the message from log. As log history is used to track the messages which occured at variuos point during the cycle.
    Even if you want to delete the message then you might have to delete it from the table where it is getting stored.
    just check the table where the log entries are getting stored and delete the entry when you provide the corrective,

  • Curve clearing messages on the device, only see messages from the last two days

    A few 8310's I have here are flushing the message box messages from the device even though the "keep messages" option is set for 6 months.  These devices were deployed in April and now are wiping all messages up until 2 days ago.
    The owners of the device claim that there is pleanty of free space - and that is not the issue. I don't have the free space numbers, but i'm working on that.
    details:
    BB 8310
    BES Exchange
    mailboxes with delegates (delegates are NOT deleting messages from mailbox)
    any thoughts?
    LGML.

    Chances are that you have filled up the storage on the bberry with cached web pages, attachments, etc.  Periodically you should clear all the temp files out by pulling the battery and restarting the berry.  If you go to Options/Status you will see how much free file space you have; it should be above 3MB.  When the berry runs short, it starts deleting messages.

  • Many messages slow because of flat directory structure

    I would like a way to tell mail to split up a folder into many sub-folders in the Library/Mail/ACCT/foo.mbox/Messages folder.
    If you have many thousands of messages the sheer volume of files in a single folder can really slow down Mail due to directory scanning performance.

    The OpenMQ HTTP pull URL contains a connection id, so for different JMS connection the pull URL is different whereas for the same JMS connection each pull uses same pull URL

    We all like to be informed ASAP.  That is why 1 minute setup seems logical.  However, from database performance point of view, that will result many unnecessary transactions which may slow down your system.
    Change it to 10 minutes to see if it helps.
