Clearing notifications on multiple devices?
This was announced with the release of iOS 7 that when you cleared a notification on one device it would clear that notification on every device. Whatever happened to this? This is one of my personally biggest desires for iOS.
You can try to contact Apple support and have them to troubleshoot and escalate to engineering see what they say. Bring it up on developers forums as well. I do not have time nor resources to check that right now, but I will try to look into as well. May be Randers can chime in on that thread. Check if it works opposite way - clearing facebook notification on ipad first, just in case. Sometimes it is just one device(iphone does not update) and then restore helps... be back if I know more.

Notifications to multiple devices, is it supported?
I use an iPhone and an iPod touch. I'd like to have notifications go to multiple devices. Some apps (facebook, for example, or FlightTracker) don't send notifications to both devices, while other apps do seem to work. Is sending network-based notifications supported? If it's officially not supported that's perfectly find and I'll stop trying to fix it. If it is supported, though, I'd like to isolate the problem of why it works with some apps but not others.

Notifications on multiple devices
My notifications show on Mac, iPad and iPhone - which is very handy. But there is one issue: is there a way to avoid notifications on my other devices once the notification has been read on one device?

You can't do this. It's only possible if you're using an IMAP mail, because it will sync mails between all devices, but it's only for emails -

I have multiple devices among several different family members. I have one iCloud account, I guess that seems to send messages, notifications, game requests meant to me but each device receives it. How can I fix this?

What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I'm sincerely trying to get this cleared up once and for all----just need guidance from someone who has a true understanding of the whole Apple iCloud/Itunes system!

Thanks for the reply. I think I figured out the problem. Apple has confused (at least in my mind) the different IDs that people can have. In the iCloud settings, they use the term Apple ID and not iCloud ID. I guess there really is no such thing as an iCloud ID. There are Apple IDs with various attributes. This is not clearly explained or easy to see (how could I look up to see if my Apple ID is associated with iTunes for example?).
I created, what I thought were iCloud IDs for each family member, but we all use my Apple ID for iTunes.
One other question - why does the syncing of Notes using iCloud require an @me.com email account. That makes no sense to me.

I do not understand the following statement;
App World supports one simultaneous BBOS device and one PlayBook, and only 5 switches each per year (a maximum of 15 unique device switches per product line per year)
I have a Playbook 64GB and Strom2 9550. My Storm 2 is on BIS and Playbook connects via WiFi or sometimes tethered through Storm 2. So, both my devices would be logged into my Blackberry ID. I would be using App world many times on both the devices, not simultaneously. Does every switch between Playbook and my Storm 2 switching counted as "unique device switching"? If that is called so, I would be reaching 15 switching in a day or two.
For some reason, at the time of my Playbook purchase, my Storm 2 was not on BIS, because of carrier problem. I switched to another carrier and now, just got my BIS running on my Storm 2. But I have not logged into the Storm 2's App world using my Blackberry ID yet.
Can some one give a clear definition of "unique device switch" ?

While it's a nice idea to have the three different breakpoints on width that allow you to make some major layout changes, I'm having trouble making this work well across multiple devices. With the high resolutions of current mobile devices, this model just doesn't seem to work well. For example, the iPad 2 in landscape mode select the desktop layout, which isn't bad, but in portrait mode gets the tablet layout, which by default is set up to be landscape. I changed the heights for both breakpoints to better fit the iPad, but then the iPhone in landscape gets the tablet layout, requiring a lot of scrolling.
Given the wide range of resolutions on mobile devices, it's not at all clear how this a simplistic mechanism like this could ever work. For one thing, it sure seems like you need to provide for both portrait and landscape layouts on tablets and phones, with Captivate using both width and height to select the best one. Also, is there any way to tell it to fill the screen without scrolling? How about automatically leaving the area clear where there's a status bar (or telling it to hide the status bar)?
I could just create a separate version of the project for each device, but then lose much of the value of creating a Responsive Project in the first place. Message forwarding across multiple devices
I saw an sms message come through on the lock screen of my partners iPhone, it stated his iCloud address at the top.
What I'm trying to work out is if it was a message for him, or one he'd sent on another device but then shouldn't it say the senders name or is it possible he sent it and he had some sort of multiple device thing set up from either his mac or ipad that forwards on. When you send a message and you have forwarding on will it be displayed on other devices with your iCloud address. Just need to work out if this was a message he sent out or a message was sent to him.
It had a green icon so it looked like an mms message.

iMessages can be received through either email accounts associated with the Apple ID, as well as a phone number. The notification which appears is green, as it is the icon for the Messages app.

LiveView : clear notifications not working
Is anyone else having problems clearing down notifications from the device ?
I go into the LiveView app on my phone and select Notifcations.
The app says that device memory will be cleared. When I look on the device all the old notifications are still there and they just keep building up.

The "clear notifications" function does not remove your notifications, it changes them from "new" to "read". When you have cleared the notifications it will look like all notifications are read, and you don't have any new ones - but you are still able to read the old ones. It's like the "read" function in your mailbox. If you want to really remove all notifications, you can uninstall/reinstall the LiveView application in your phone, it's done pretty quickly. -
I use a Macbook, my iphone and occasionally my PC desktop for my skype account. Often my messages don't sync with my account. So, I will get a message on my Macbook but it is not on my iphone. How can I fix this? I often miss messages this way. Or, it will say the message was sent. But, the recipient does not receive it. I believe because I have multiple devices open. Thank you!

Can I share an iTunes account with multiple devices?
I had an iPhone 3GS. Just upgraded to an iPhone 5C. I'd like to save the 3GS for our daughter to use as an iPad Touch. I realize that I'll need to wipe the 3GS clean and start over with new apps for her. I have a few questions:
Can I use my same iTunes account for both devices, or must I create a new iTunes account for my daughter's app and music purchases?
How do I change the device name in iTunes, so that her iPhone no longer bears my name?
Also, can I sync both devices on the same computer, or is it better to use different computers for the two devices?

Any of the above will work, depending how you would like to set it up.
Given that kids tend to eventually grow up and be independent, the best long term answer for most people is to let her have her own account and her own library as soon as she can handle it. Keep in mind that content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, so separating later is a challenge.
If you want to sync multiple devices to the same library, that will work. Or if you want separate libraries (as I would recommend), they can be either on separate computers or on separate Windows user accounts on the same PC.
For the name change: Connect the device. When the name appears in the left sidebar of iTunes, highlight it and change it.
