Clearing of reservations -reg

Friends ,
issue is like this
a component has been deleted from BOM, its CS15 is nothing , its not used any BOMs
Still PRs are getting generated in MRP for that part number
when analysed its understood that there are few Production Orders which are partially confirmed and done TECO.
is it the reason that they are not done final confirmation ....reservations are still existing
when we try to delete these reservations because of which PRs are getting generated , we could not delete.
when we do TECO , the reservations are cleared , is it not ?
what may be the root cause ?
is it required that we should do final confirmation before doing TECO?
i think we can not give 0 quantity and do final confirmation ?
still i think that TECO shall release all reservations

Hi,
1. If you check the PuReqs in MD04 for your material you can check from where those requisitions originate (from where the requirements come).
2. If reservation generated by production orders don't disappear at higher level even if you change the order status to TECO, your system doesn't work properly I think. (Final confirmation and TECO has nothing to do with each other).
After setting the order status to TECO, execute an MRP run, start AGAIN MD04 and check the result. If reservations still existst search for OSS notes (like 512009), if you fail to find contact SAP AG.
(please also check whether from where those resrvation come...)

Hi All....
I have a doubt on clear open reservations check box in colln.
Please explain how it works.. if it is ticked and unticked in both cases what happens??
I tried GI with/without ticking the clear open reserv. in both cases the material is issued from the stock against the reservation no.(Bachflush is ticked in order)
So exactly what is the impact if it is ticked and not??

When u release the order, system creates one reservation no. in the production order, which has got all the materials to be issued to the order.
1. When u issue the material to the order in MB1A, the issue qty is equal to the required qty of the order, then FI(final issue) indicator set aganist the each line item. This u can see in order---> component overview. This case weather u activate clear open resrvation in CO11n is not having any effect.
2. Suppose ur issue is through CO11n, then if u tick this box, weather u do issue/backflush the FI is set in order and again if u try to do the issue system says that no selectable item for this order.

OPK4 Settings _ Clear Open reservations

Hi Team,
I am having clarification on the check box "Clear Open Reservations" in OPK4. What is the use of this check box? And which business case, i can enable this check box?
How the check box "Clear Open Reservations" is different from TECO status?
Assume that i have created & released the production order with 5 qty. To produce 5 header qty, i need 5 child parts. I have produced 3 qty & set the order status as "TECO". Once the order received the status TECO, the remaining reservation qty 2 is cleared (ie, in RESB table, the "deletion indicator" is set for 2 qty). Is the check box "Clear Open Reservations" performs the above similar function?

Thank you for the info. Suppose, i need 5 qty of items to produce 5 header item. During confirmation (in CO15), i have provided the yield qty as 2 & executing the confirmation with below cases
Case 1:
Yield Qty: 2
Final Confirmation: Checked
Clear Reservation: Not Checked
In this case also, the reservation for remaining 3 qty will be set to "final issue"?
Case 2:
Yield Qty: 2
Final Confirmation: Checked
Clear Reservation: Checked
In this case also, the reservation for remaining 3 qty will be set to "final issue"?
Case 3:
Yield Qty: 2
Partial Confirmation: Checked
Clear Reservation: Checked
In this case also, the reservation for remaining 3 qty will be set to "final issue"?

Clear open reservation for Final issue indicator.

Final issue indicator is not getting checked unless we issue the entire requirement quantity.
How can we get it checked for all components without going into the process order?
Does the clear open reservation checkmark be used for this purpose and if with Final confirmation?
or is there something else?

Hi Abhi,
While confirming the operations, flag 'Clear open reservations' check box & this will set the "delivery completed" indicator for all open reservations.

Transacton COHV is the main transaction for order mass processing.
You can do TECO and another mass activities on the order.

Storage location in reservation: The storage Location field in a reservation should be a mandatory field u2013 can you throw some light on this issue

Reservation should be created by providing the storage location by this ystem will reserves the stocks avl in that storage location and when a new reqt trigger in that storage lcoation it will show a warning message based on your settings. You can default the storage location in the reservation by providing the issue storage location in MRP 2 view of the Material Master.
You can also create the reservation without providing the storage location in this case system will reserve the material in the Plant level.

In the confirmation of the production order, does clear reversation - clear all the reservations of the BOM Components ?
What could be possible reason for non clearance of the reversation of the BOM components, when the header material is confirmed ?

Hi!,
When you tick "clear open reservation" check box at the time of confirmation, system deletes the reservation and that reservation does not interfere in the planning process but still it allows you to issue the material against that reservation number on MB1A. As per SAP this is how the system is designed. Even you can issue more then the reserved quantity by changing the quantity manually (System will only flash a warning in such a case). If you want the system to prohibit the issue more then the originally reserved quantity, you can convert that warning message to error.

Unable to clear change records

We are facing an issue where the there are few 261 records in COGI from previous period and a different storage location , but unable to clear inspite of changing the storage location with sufficient quantity of stocks . It is still displaying the message ' Deficit of stocks in that storage location'. Please provide your suggestions.

Please make sure that you have had enough stock at sloc on specific period.You can analyse the stock by posting date in MB5B. Please check any existing reservation blocked the stock, then clear the reservation and post.

If your order is only released then do the Read Master Data again for the order without doing the material availability check and save the order.

Production order Reservations

Hi All,
I have created production order(Status: CRTD). System is automatically creating reservation number for the order.
Is there any way to cancell this reservation against production order without deleting / releasing & performing TECO against the production order.
I tried MB22, but system gives an error message that reservation created automatically. No manual changes allowed.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
The requirement is as under:-
Say we have a common component being used in two production order whose Unrestricted stock is 110 units.
On time axis we have Production order 01 & Production order 02 in CRTD stage. Both are making use of the same component under respective B.O.M. with 100 units & availability chk happens during creation & release stage independently.
If I want to release Prod Order 01 it will give msg: All components available but will throw warning msg of missing parts if i try to release Prod order 02.
In case due to some priority (say customer preference), I want to hold Prod order 01 & is in need of Prod Order 02 then as rightly said by you either I should make component qty = 0 in Prod order 01 & then try to release Prod order02. Or
I should nullify reservations against Prod order 01.
Another method I tried, but failed to met my expectations is doing CO11N with final confirmation & Clear open reservations enabled . It is done after releasing the prod. order & with zero yield, zero activities & zero comp. qty's.
What exactly I am looking for:
Is there a t.code with which I can either cancell, jumble or give priority to the reservations.
Moreover, does the system automatically blocks the quantity for the production order on first come & first out basis.

Collective confirmation through COGI-reg

When I do collective confirmation through COHV for production orders, Final issue indicator is set automatically and system does not allow any good issue posting for that orders. can you tell me whether any setting to be done in customising.

Check in OPK1 and OPK0 in the defaults is there a check box ticked for - clear oper reservations?
If so then the reservation against the ordfer wikll be closed as it will be defaulted during confirmation

Deleting the reservations for components of a production order without TECO

Dear Gurus,
I forgot to activate the backflush indicator in the beginning. I activated the backflush indicator in between. But for the confirmations already made I had to issue the material as unplanned consumption for the order. This is not clearing the reservations for the material.
How to delete the reservations for components of a production order without TECOing the production order? My order is not completed.

Hi Kumar,
I have a production order for 1000 header (A) qty. My control key is PP03 (auto goods receipt from confirmation in CO11N).
For this order the component B qty is 1000 (BOM consumption is 1:1)
Without doing GI, the confirmation is done for 300 A qty. I realized that auto GI is not done for the 300 qty of component B as there was no backflush indicator.
Now the backflush indicator is activated in the production order for component B.
In the next confirmation for another 300 A qty, automatic GI is posted for 300 B qty because of backflush now.
Now my confirmed and GR qty for A in two rounds is 300 + 300 = 600.
GI of component B done is only 300 (through backflush).
Qty yet to confirm = 400.
So I did GI of 300 B qty through MB1A (which is an unplanned issue). This does not update the withdrawn qty in the production order. Also the reservations for component B for this 300 qty are not reduced in the system.
Now the reservations against the order for component B = 1000 - 300 = 700 (which is 300 more than the qty yet to confirm).
Now when I run MRP for another 2000 qty of A, the procurement proposals for B will be 2000 + 300(undeleted reservations) = 2300. Though the system is behaving properly, this 300 is additional and unwanted.
For this reason I need to delete these reservations before the MRP run. As order is still open, I cannot TECO the order. Nor can I clear all open reservations from CO11N.

The scope of planned maintenance includes Preventive Maintenance, TBM on any type of Plant / Machinery.
One of the most significant advantages offered by the SAP Plant Maintenance application component is the option of split-level maintenance. You can use maintenance planning to describe the dates and scope of preventive maintenance and inspection activities of technical objects. You can plan for your technical objects to be maintained on time and thereby function optimally.
Maintenance Plan
Description of the maintenance and inspection tasks to be performed at maintenance objects. The maintenance plans describe the dates and scope of the tasks.
Preventive maintenance plan:
Maintenance is performed in specific cycles for time-based maintenance (TBM) planning, for example, every two months or every six months.
Periodic Inspection plan:
Inspection is performed in specific cycles for time-based inspection planning.
Counter based Maintenance:
With counter based maintenance plans, you can plan regular maintenance based on counter readings maintained for measuring points at pieces of equipment and functional locations.
Maintenance takes place when the counter for the technical object has reached a certain reading, for example, every 100 operating hours, every 500 operating hours etc. The calculated planned date depends on the counter reading at the time of planning, and the estimated annual performance that has been defined for the counter.
You can use performance-based maintenance planning to ensure that the operations contained in the maintenance task list are performed at a time when the technical object actually requires maintenance.
Maintenance order:
Orders form an important part of the detailed planning of tasks and their accompanying documentation in Plant Maintenance.
A technician on site must execute tasks on a technical object. For this, materials, tools and staff must be planned and costs estimated. The order supports you with these tasks, since it primarily contains data for planning and executing tasks, which must be performed at the technical object in question.
Maintenance scheduling:
We schedule a maintenance plan with which the system generates maintenance orders for the defined cycles.
For each scheduling, the system calculates the due date (planned date) for a maintenance call object based on the scheduling parameters and the defined frequency like weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly etc and generates maintenance calls.
Maintenance Order Confirmation:
A completion confirmation documents the status of the processing of operations and sub-operations for a maintenance order. It is a part of order monitoring.
Maintenance order confirmation listing gives details like which work centre performed the work, how long the work was done, how much work is still pending and clearing the reserved resources.
Purpose
     To carry out preventive maintenance on the technical object based on fixed frequency.
     To meet some legal requirement (Statutory) like reminders through calls for submission of return statements.
     For planning of procurement of components and provision of service for any technical object in fixed interval.
     Budgeting of resources like men and material.
     To plan for checking the health condition of the machine and optimize on the maintenance schedules based on the result.

Reservations for phantom assembly

I have a phantom assembly in a process order, on creation of the process order. Reservations are created for the all the material. Is there a possibility to clear the reservations for a 'phantom assembly' before 'TECO' ?

Yes, reservations gets clear at confirmation when 'clear reservation' is ticked. I have case where reservations for phantom assembly exist even after confirmation with 'clear reservation'.

Final issue indicator for Reservation Item

Hi,
The issue is as follows:
The Componets for the Process order are issued through T. code COIK. Some componets are not appearing in COIK list . when the picking is done for the order, the final issue indicator is set in the process order where the componets are not picked and also the final issue indicator is not set where the componets are picked.
Can anybody tell me what could be the Reason/s for the above.

FI indicator can be set manually via MB22 though the Reserved qty has not been withdrawn.
There is indicator in MB22 to tick for the final issue, this indicator is set automatically for a goods movement when the total reserved quantity has been withdrawn or delivered.
Final option is to clean only the reservation for a given material, just go to the ordern in change mode, and then to the material details, and set the flag "on" for the field "Final Issue".
Reservations are created when order gets released.
1. can clear these reservations at the time of the order confirmations by clicking on checkbox for clear open reservations.
2. You can also clear this reservations by using transaction code MB22 & deleting the reservations.
3. You can delete all reservations by deleting material documents or by cancelling process order confirmations.
4. Or by checking final issue in process order transaction COR2.
