Clearing old AP names on WCS

when I go to monitor/access points I see access point names that are not the real names. Some will be called AP0023.0425.05ba and when I look on my controller there is no AP0023.0425.05ba.
How can I clear out the access point list and make it refresh its self?

Configure -> controllers
Refresh config from controllers.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • How do you remove an old device name from your iTunes account?

I have several old device names/backups on my iTunes that I want to remove.  They were from old iPhones that we've turned into iPod's for my kids which we needed to create a new device name for them.  So now when I restore a device, I have a list of about 10 different names to choose from.
How can I erase the old names/backups that we no longer use?  I still have 3 on there that I want to keep though so I don't want to erase all of them.

    iTunes Prefs > Devices.
Selec a backup and delete it there.

  • I've moved my Aperture library to another computer, and masters are referencing an old path name.  How can I update these references?  Reloctating masters does not work in this case :(

I've moved my Aperture library from one computer to another using Finder.
I merged the library with one which was already on the computer.
Now, the photos I imported have reference to the old path name on my old computer.
How can I update these references as "Relocate Masters" does not work in this case?

Just one suggestion to be able to reconnect all at once:
Create a smart album containing the images with missing masters:
File -> New ->  Smart Album,     and add a rule: File Status is "Missing"     (or File Status is "offline")
Then select the images in this album and go to the File menu:
and select:   File -> Locate referenced File
If you are lucky, Aperture will reconnect all at once, if you point the first image version to its counterpart.

  • My old iPad icloud account has an old account name that I no longer subscribe to and will not let me access it. I need to in order to transfer my info to my new iPad. It won't let me change the account name to access the icloud.

I am updating my iPad from first generation to fifth. I can access my app store info with no problem, but I cannot access iCloud. It has an account name that is greyed out and it's an account name of a service we no longer subscribe to. I keep getting a window that says user name or password is wrong, but it only gives me an option to enter a password that doesn't match up with that old account name. I need to transfer to the new ipad, but how do I get cloud access?

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud.  Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.

  • Is there a way to access Time Machine files associated with an old user name?

My iMac was running super slow and there was a bunch of programs, etc. that I wanted to get rid of anyway so I thought I would do a "clean install" from my Snow Leopard disc.  I moved items on my desktop to my Seagate external drive and then unplugged it.  I have had Time Machine saving to it for a long time so I was confident I could just move a few items (pictures, music, etc.) back on to my hard drive when the install was completed.  To my surprise, when I went to Time Machine I found the items I had moved from my desktop but no earlier versions of my other files.
In researching this issue a little bit, it appears that perhaps I created a new user name when I did the install and that my historical items are likely still on the Seagate but stored somewhere associated with my old user name.  I understand that if I can change my user name back to the original that I may be able to access the items and transfer the items I want.  To compound the situation, I have no idea what my old user name even was.
Does this make sense to Mac experts out there?
If so, is there a way to see the old user names and access the Time Machine files?
I've been avoiding telling my wife that I may have lost all our kid photos so I'm desperately hoping someone can help.

The problem is that Time Machine detects your new OS X copy as a new Mac and it doesn't let you access to your backups. To access to them, see > http://pondini.org/TM/E3.html
Another option would be to access to your backups manually. Open a Finder window, select the Time Machine drive in the sidebar and go to Backups.backupdb > your computer's name > one of the backups > your partition's name, and copy the data you want

  • How can I remove old calendar names from the iTunes sync list?

I gave my calendars new names as part of reducing the total number of calendars in my iCal, and now iTunes still lists the old calendar names as well as the new ones in its "selected calendars" list, even though these names are no longer present in my iCal nor on my iPod Touch. How can I remove the old calendar names?

The "genius" folks at the Apple Store lived up to their names. The key was to reset the iSync history in the iSync Preferences.

Try going into your account details on iTunes, change your info there, then sync your devices.

  • GRIR Clearing (old items)

    Dear all,
could someone make a suggestion on how to clear open items on the GRIR account that are over 6 months old. MR11 is run on a monthly basis, yet I have some open items in my reconciliation dating back until 2003. I would like to get rid of them but are not able to make manual postings on the GRIR account.
    Sincerely,
    Lucas

    Hi,
It is not recommended to post manually on GR IR account.
You should try to clear this difference with MR11, it is possible to clear old items with the current date.

  • App reverts to old Executable Name when run by AppleScript?

Currently I have an app that I made in AppleScript that does a variety of different tasks when it runs. Part of the task that it performs includes opening up another app which I did not build but downloaded off the Internet (secondaryapp.app).
The original executable name (i.e. the listing under CFBundleExecutable in the Info.plist) of this secondary app is something that is kind of obnoxious and I would really like to change it because I type it in to Terminal a lot so that I can quit the app using the kill command. For the purposes of this post lets just say the original executable name was "old-exec-name." I would really like to change "old-exec-name" to "new-exec-name." To do this I changed both the Info.plist entry and the name of the executable file in the Mac OS folder to be "new-exec-name" and then I archived and unarchived the app to make sure the changes stuck.
When I click on the secondary app (secondaryapp.app) and tell it to open in Finder the program runs fine and the new executable name seems to be working and responds when I use 'killall QUIT "new-exec-name"' in Terminal. However when I use my AppleScript application which launches secondaryapp.app as part of its script the secondary app is run under the old executable name and can only be quit using 'killall QUIT "old-exec-name"' which is exactly what I was trying to change in the first place.
Can anyone explain why is happening and/or how I might fix it please? Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. I am aware of some other solutions to this such as using aliases in Terminal to avoid typing out the Exec name all the time but I would really prefer to just change the the name. Also I have tried restarting my computer and rebundling the entire AppleScript app from scratch in order to get the app to run under the correct name but I have had no success.

    Sherry,
I've had similar problems in the past, and it usually ends up being that FORMSnn_PATH contains a directory with an older version of the form in it. Alternatively, I have found that if the "new" form is invoked from a form that I already have open, then the O/S seems to use a cached version of the target form. Exiting Forms and re-running the app sometimes helps.
Hope this is of some use.

  • Pivot table data source keeps referring to old file name

    Hi,
I am using Excel 2013 on Windows 8
I create a table, and insert a pivot table that use this table as data source
I close the excel and rename the file from "myfile.xlsx" to "newfile.xlsx, and then open it again
When trying to refresh my Pivot Table, I get the following Error:
"We couldn't get the data from 'Table1' in the workbook 'C:\myfile.xlsx' Open this workbook in Excel and try again."
i.e. it is still looking for table using the old file name.
I need to update the file every week, so having to manually go back and change source file name for every pivot is very time consuming and painful for me :-(
Please investigate and advise how to fix this ?

    Hi,
Based on my tested in my environment (Window 8.1 & Excel 2013), the error message pop up when a pivot table using an external data source. If you use the table as external data source, pivot table uses OLEDB to connect it, it'll refresh failed after
you changed the file name. It's by design.
Then, we may try the two workaround to avoid it:
    1) Keep the data source table and pivot table in the same file.
    2) Add the table to a connection, steps:
Click Data tab>Connection> Add> Browse more> Choose the file.
Please try to change in new file in property before you refresh the Pivot table.

  • Old computer name still shows

I bought a new iMac core duo early this year and migrated all my data from my ibook to it. Not a problem, and i reinstalled Tiger on my ibook for the new owner when i sold it. I've just noticed that my old ibook computer name crops up now again even though my iMac now has a different name. How is this possible?
I'm sharing my files with a Sony Vaio (forgive me i own a laptop too), and when i connect to me network, it shows my path as ''my old ibook computername'(my ip address)'(my name:). Why does it not show my current computer name?
If anyone has any ideas and a solution i would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
iMac Intel 20inch 2Ghz 2GB Ram   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Running Airport Express, file sharing with Sony Vaio Win XP

Which machine shows your old computer name, the mac or the sony?
If the sony, try opening a dos window and enter
    ipconfig /flushdns
I think the equivalent function on the Mac can be found in Network Utility

  • Old Domain Name showing in User Profiles

Sharepoint User Profile Sync is showing some users with our Old Domain name (from years ago).  This domain name is NOT  in our Active Directory.  I'm guessing that the profiles that show the old domain name must have been in our Sharepoint
2007 and got ported over when we upgraded to Sharepoint 2010.
This is causing conflicts and some workflows not to work (ones where its looking up a user's profile).  And when I look in Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager, there are some users listed with this error: Exception while trying to migrate user "abc\johndoe"
to "xyz\johndoe"..  Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The user does not exist or is not unique.......
("abc" being the old domain name...and "xyz" being our current domain name)
I'm wondering what is the best way to get rid of the old domain name in our Sharepoint 2010 user profiles?  Should I update them in the User Profile database in SQL?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Also, in Central Admin under Health monitoring, we have this message
"People search relevance is not optimized when the Active Directory has errors in the manager reporting structure. In Active Directory, only company leaders should have the 'manager' property set to NULL. As a result of errors, the Active Directory can
incorrectly have the 'manager' property set to NULL for other users that can cause a decrease in people search relevance. By specifying the actual leaders of
the company, these inconsistencies are not taken into account and the relevance problem is corrected.
    Remedy
Specify the company leaders explicitly. Use the following PowerShell
    commands: $upap = Get-SPServiceApplicationProxy [appid]; Add-SPProfileLeader
    $upap [Domain]\[UserName]. Run 'Get-SPProfileLeader $upap' to check whether the
leader was successfully added. As a last step, run a full crawl on the content
source containing the start address (URL) of the user profile application.
Not sure if this is related.
Any help would be much appreciated... thanks!

If Mysite Clean Up job is running then this issue should be fixed(removed all old profiles)  in couple of User Profile Sync( Full followed by couple of Incremental). Basically, FIMs
responsible to mark the user as deleted within the UPA then CleanUp Job purge these profile.
    http://www.harbar.net/archive/2011/02/10/account-deletion-and-sharepoint-2010-user-profile-synchronization.aspx
How many users you are seeing, are they showed in the Profile missing options? if less numbers then you can simply remove the IDs from USer Profile manually.
