Clearing out unwanted updates from updater?

I was trying to update some of the garage band tracks, the update was 1.2gigs, I decided I didn't want to load those on. Now, the updater flashes twice a day, new update, and its the garage band update. How can I clear this unwanted update?

start software update, select the unwanted update and go to Update menu->ignore update.

I believe the issue is with the Apple ID that was used to purchase the App. If you download an App that was purchased under a different Appple ID then all updates will also be linked to the original purchaser's Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the the same ID as your iTunes, iCloud, etc. Some folks use different ID for the different Apple sites. No need for that One ID for all Apple Sites, and if someone else buys an App using their ID and they(you) download that App onto your device and that App requires an update it will ask for the purchasers Apple ID. This happens a lot when folks sell their iPad or give it to someone else and leave some purchased(free) Apps on the iOS device. You cannot change the original ID the App was purchased under. A suggestion would be if someone else has an App that you like but do not want to pay for use their ID or in the future have them gift the App to you.

Is there any way so that I Being able to clear out old data from the Order Gate forecast, tolerance, and confirmed order to date tables on a monthly basis?
Means I want data in data table for particular time (I want that if suppose today is 13-11-2008 then my data table must contain data from 13-10-2008 to 13-11-2008.
Is it possible thru ABAP development or thru any t codes ?

hi,
Before archiving you have to put the Deletion flag for the object(May be for PO, MMR etc as per your req.)...
After that the you use the archiving procedure to archive the docs which are already flagged for deletion...
For MMR you use the transaction SARA...and its respective object for the archiving....
You can use the SDN search to see the many threads on it...

How to prevent OS X update from updating the HP printer drivers?

I am using a HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One printer and scanner system together with my Mac (OS X 10.5.7). Well - after repeated problems with this products I realized that the automatic updates of the HP driver by OS X is the problem - since I finally realized that the scanner always refused to work after updating the software to the so-called current version. Well, of course I know that I can switch the updates to "manually approve" and uncheck the box next to the HP driver in order to prevent the problem - however, it has also happened several times that I forgot to uncheck - and then I had to go through the long uninstall-reinstall older version-process (the HP driver has approx. 200 MB...!).
So I began wondering whether it might be possible to prevent OS X auto-update from updating this one driver only - is it possible to create an exception list for OS X auto update???

I see, I see! Well, after all, for 40 years after school - not bad! I had, among other languages, Russian in school for 3 years (I thought it was cool...) - that's ten years ago, but I wouldn't even dare to try to speak that nowadays (my group leader at the institute was Russian - she wanted me to try and say something in Russian - with a smile of expectation in her face... I didn't dare...).
Well, the German in Bavaria (Munich and around) may be a bit softer or less formal - for me it is hard to appreciate that... I considered Russian much more formal than German (and the other languages I learnt - English, French - probably with the exception of Latin...) - many more cases, complicated so-called "aspects" in the verbs (I never completely understood that...) and so on. Well, after all, I learnt German as my first language - and that made it much easier for me than any other language I tried to learn later :-D
But it is funny - when I began to learn English in school (which was when I was ten years old), I found it quite easy at the beginning, since much of the structure of sentences etc. has some relation to German, and especially to the dialect from the area where my grandmother comes from (which is the area from where the anglo-saxonians moved to England in the early middle-ages) - the area is still today called "Angeln" in German (probably sth. like "Anglia"); I heard my grandmother and my great-grandmother talk in that dialect. Although it is said that only approx. 10 % of the English language stems from that origin, and many more words came to the language from French and other origins - it appears to me that the basis of sentences (such as pronouns, articles, important auxiliaries and verbs etc. - and the structure) stems from the anglo-saxonian origin - and the other 90 % then make up the wealth of vocabulary (English is known for its wealth of synonyms and words that differ only by a nuance).
Well... :-D We're getting off-topic, I'm afraid. But the good thing is, I have never seen any board moderator or other guest here in the Apple forum complain

they will stay there for reference, now that we have automatic updates, so you can go back and see when and what apps updated.

How do I clear out a "stuck" app update?

I installed a couple apps from my iTunes library. The app store showed them as needing to be updated, but they kept getting stuck (little circle stops spinning). Tried Xing them them out on the pane in iTunes that shows that screen on the iPad, but never really removed them. How can I fix my little mess?

What does a hard reset clear out? / can't update O...

Hi,
I'd like to get my phone back to it's original state. But doing a hard reset won't do that really as I've updated the firmware since then for example and I'm pretty sure I'll have the same firmware after the reset.
My problem is that I get an "internal error" when trying to update the Ovi maps to 3.4 using Ovi suite. If I try to do it directly on the phone I just get a generic failure message with no information.
I've removed the existing Ovi maps from the application manager but I can still run Ovi maps! It's all gone a bit strange so I thought I'd reset but I don't think it's really going to clear everything out. So I might be back where I started but minus some of the things I wanted on my phone. So I'm not sure what a reset really does.
Any ideas how I can get out of this state?

Right - I did a soft reset and tried to install Ovi maps 3.04. It told me to clear out some memory. I'd been doing that at the weekend by uninstalling applications but the main problem was 50Mb of "other files". So I only had about 8Mb free as there's around 25Mb of applications and misc other stuff (I'd moved my messages off there at the weekend).
So I did a hard reset and 3.04 has now installed. Of course - It'll now take me some time to get everything back the way it was!
Perhaps it was a lack of space on C: that was the problem all along. Not sure how I would have got rid of that "other files" space without a hard reset.

Preventing old unwanted account from updating apps...

Before I joined mobile me I used my old email address to setup an Apple ID account for my iPod. Over time I bought apps for the iPod. Since mobile me came out I had to make a new account with my new mobile me email address as it wouldn't accept my old hotmail address. Subsequently I know have two Apple accounts and never use the hotmail-addressed one for my iPod as I now have 3 separate libraries under my mobile me-assigned account for my iPod, iPhone and iPad. HOWEVER, as logic states whenever there is an update for anything bought or installed from my old hotmail-addressed account, it flags itself as an update which I cannot get rid of unless I sign out of my current Apple ID account and into my old hotmail one, update them and then sign back out and into my current Apple ID. VERY VERY annoying.
Is the only solution to delete all apps from my old account (if that is possible) and fill the fields with false info to cut all links and ties; as I know you cannot delete an Apple account?
Anything would help......it's really getting on my t*ts having to update things twice esepcailly with the number of stuid updates there seem to be nowadays with apps!

Apps will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased. They will always have to be updated from that account.
Why did you start a new account? You could have changed the e-mail address associated with your old account.
You can delete the apps and buy them from your new account if you like.

Clearing out personal info from sim card sold phone on ebay

I cleared out all my info once on my iphone, but I need to remember how to do it again. I sold the phone,and and I want to clear all personal info, Note pad, passwords, contacts etc;

The iPhone store no data on the sim card. To clear all data from the phone itself: Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content & Settings. If any model phone other than a 3GS or iPhone 4, plug the phone into a wall outlet first, as this can take several hours. On a 3GS or iPhone 4, it takes but a minute or two.

Clearing out unwanted networks on AirPort menu

I keep picking up another network when I turn my computer on. It is much weaker than mine. How can I clear out the networks I do not want listed in the airport menu?

System Preferences>Network>Airport - unlock the padlock, click on the Advanced button>Airport - use the minus sign to delete the unwanted networks after highlighting them. Lock the padlock when done.

Updating from Update Retriever 4 to 402

How do we upgrade from Update Retriever 4 to 4.02 is it a simple install over what is already installed? Will the older version of Thin Installer work with Update Retriever 4.02 or do we also need a new thin Installer?

Yes, an over-install should work fine.
If you are using Thin Installer with any of the new ThinkPads (e.g. X220, T420, etc) then I would suggest using the Thin Installer set of files here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9973768/ThinInstaller.zip

Clear out "Available Downloads" from iTunes?

I downloaded the iPhone 2.0 for my ipod touch back when i purchased it for 9.95 (or whatever it was at the time).
However, iTunes store still thinks i haven't downloaded it. So anytime i now do an "update all apps" it attempts to download the iPhone 2.0 update 12 times.
Is there anywhere i can clear this out?

My Macbook won't start after a automatic update from "Updater"

I just tried to update my iPhone with iTunes but it said I was need to update my iTunes to 10.5, I updated it and I got a popup which shows the Mac auto-updater; it found 900 mb of updates. I updated and it ask for reboot. I reboot but now the loading screen of my Macbook is stuck and it wont start...
