Clearing remembered login details on Firefox/Hotmail

I sometimes use Firefox as my browser (because you can't download files from some sites, including some UK Government sites, when using Safari).
I use Hotmail as my email, not Mail.
When you type in your email address in Hotmail - when using Firefox as the browser - Firefox remembers those email addresses.  That's useful.
However it also remembers incorrectly typed in addresses too!!
I've searched high and low on both Firefox Preferences and on my Mac's System Preferences and cannot find any way of deleting incorrectly entered email addresses.  I'll happily delete the lot and start again, but can't do that either.
Any useful suggestions?
Many thanks.
G.

Thanks AidanBW.  This pretty much answered my question.  I'm using Firefox 15 and on the Tools menu there isn't an Options option as per your email link.
There is however a Clear Recent History option.  If you click on that, you have various options ranging from one hour to any time today, and the the only other one is "everything".  I clicked the latter and it did just that!
It removed all the passwords and all my previous browsing history - so finally I've got rid of those irritating incorrectly typed email addresses (one of which had my password on the end! - which was why I wanted to get rid of it)
I think, maybe, under Tools > Clear Recent History I should have just selected the Form & Search History option.
But I'm very happy with the outcome.
So, many thanks once again.

  • ITunes still not remembering login details

    Hello all,
Is anyone experiencing the fact that iTunes "STILL" does not remember login details for premium Podcasts? I put in the username and password, click the little "Remember Password" box, log out as a test and then, nothing. No remember jack. I was hoping that Apple would listen and fix this but alas they only care about what they care about.
Did anyone find a work around to this problem. Thanks in advance.

    **Sigh**
To pay so much many and to get so little support.
How hard is it for Apple to fix this problem? I am sure the mods will come by and delete my post because I did not speak highly of Apple and the wonder and joy that they bring the world but how about simply making iTunes work as it is advertised? If it is supposed to remember a username and password, how about this? Apple if you are listening, is this toooo much to ask? To make your customers happy.

  • Mail cant remember login details for one of my accounts

I have a Yahoo account and Mail consistently fails to remember my user/password combo. I have check the server settings and they are fine, I have also deleted the email account from Mail yet the issues persists.
Can anyone advise before I launch my 2 month old MacBook Pro through the window?
If this helps, I dont have the same issue with my iphone, that works fine.
    Thanks.

Thank you very much for your advice. Last evening I tried to log on to thank the first person whose answer advanced my situation. I appreciate anyone's willingness to help. I find it both rewarding and refreshing. Once again, thank you for your kindness.

Open Applications and the the Utility folder and then Keychain Access app. In there you will find all the usernames and password that have been saved. For some reason it is not saving those passwords and or not using the ones that have been saved.
This is fairly common with Mac OS X as it happens for no apparent reason just all of a sudden.

After I type in my login details and press "enter" on a website, Firefox freezes for around half minute. This has gone on for around 5 months. I've tried disabling add-ons to my Firefox but they don't seem to affect this problem. My version is 17.0.1.
How do I combat this problem? Many thanks in advance.

    Provide the website name.
'''Try the Firefox Safe Mode''' to see how it works there. The Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Don't select anything right now, just use "'Start in Safe Mode"''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shift key) to open it again.''
'''''If it is good in the Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.

  • Group Policy to clear down MRU lists and to clear or to prevent user login details for programs such as Remote Desktop from being recorded

    Hi there,
Please can anyone instruct me on how to set up Group Policy to clear down MRU lists and to clear or to prevent user login details for programs such as Remote Desktop from being recorded. Your help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim
P.S. I was redirected by a forum user off the Microsoft Community forum.

    Hi RocknRollTim,
Agree with Jason. Using a script will be a better option.
Just addition, for history of RDP Connections, please open Registry Editor and follow the path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default. Please check if find MRU registry items where the name (or the IP address) of the terminal server is kept in.
Please also follow the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Servers. It contains
the list of all RDC (remote desktop client) connections that have ever been established from this computer.
When expand Server folder and select a node, you will see the UsernameHint key that show the name of the user connected by rdp.
Please back up registry items to avoid unexpected issues before any operation.
If any update, please feel free to let us know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu
Thank you for responding back Justin Gu and I agree with both you and Jason Miller that a script can easily achieve this task. Thank you all for your help.
    Many thanks,

  • Lost all login details

My grandson has lost all his login details and can't even remember the email he used when first setting up the iPad, he wants to give the iPad to his dad as he conned his mother into buying him a new mini iPad for his birthday. There is nothing on the original iPad he wants saving, so how can I clear whats on the iPad and start again?

What are you seeing on the iPad's screen ?
If it's on the activation screen and is asking for the account id and password for the account that it's locked to then your grandson will have to remember or find his account details.
He could try one of these to find it : Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name - Apple Support
or How to find your Apple ID - Apple Support
If he still can't find it then if he has proof of ownership (e.g. original receipt with serial number) then he could try going to an Apple store or contacting Support online : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Ebay login loop with Firefox, but not with Chrome

When I log in to Ebay using Firefox, everything looks OK. I can buy and sell (so I'm definitely logged in), but when I attempt to go to "My Ebay", It presents the login screen, even though I am already logged in. If I fill in the login details, it simply re-asserts the login screen, and I sit in this loop indefinitely.
I have cleared cache and cookies several times, and have deleted and reinstalled Firefox to no avail. When I contact Ebay support (I have spent 3 hours on thje chat support and 20 minutes on the phone), they tell me to use Chrome or IE. I downloaded Chrome, and I can access Ebay perfectly with it, but I am currently at my daughter's place for Christmas, so I am using her wireless connection, and we both use the same ISP (plus.net), and on her PC, she uses Firefox, and I can access My Ebay by signing in on her laptop.
What's going on? For Ebay access, her Firefox works; mine doesn't. My Chrome works, but Firefox on my PC doesn't.

  • Save login details on phone

Is there any way to enter login details on your phone for the Nokia Music Store and haev the phone retain the login details so you don't have to re-enter your name and password every time you open the store?  i have a Nokia 5800.

    Hi!
You should be able to update this in your personal details. When you are signed in to the music store, select the account icon (the middle one) and then personal details. There you should see an option for "remember me".
    Cheers,

  • Safari produces 404 with login & redirection script, Firefox, IE work fine

    Hi!
I'm having a bit of trouble with a login script and I was wondering if there were any particular safari bugs I should be aware of?
The script is a php script that takes login details, redirects the user to an appropriate site based on the login details and logs them into that site automatically... In firefox and IE it works without issue... in safari I get a 404 page not found error...
The weirdest part is that the script is at:
    www.site.com/script.php
the 404 not found error appears with:
www.site.com in the url bar, and if you press refresh the 404 error remains, even though the site can be found... it's really weird...
Any thoughts would be much appreciated...

    Okay... I've solved it!
Safari has a little bug/feature: if there is no action specified in a form(meaning the page that will receive the data is the same as the page containing the form) Safari misinterprets it and relocates to... null. I just hardcoded the target in the form and it... worked.

  • How to remember login permanently

    Hi,
I don't know what I have done wrong. Each time I close the browser, I need to login again. In other forums, there is a checkbox "Remember login info" (or something like that). What should I do to make Firefox 3.01 (on WinXP SP3) to remember my login info on forums.oracle.com?
    Thanks in advance.

Of course I allow cookies, and my browser works OK with other forums. This forum remember my login status but forget it a little while after.
Thanks "SomeoneElse" for pointing me to the right thread discussing this issue. Although I make the question as answered but I am NOT satisfied. I would still prefer to have a checkbox to give me the choice of remembering the login info.
To the designer of the forum: so I assume the decision to force the login periodically is to enforce the security? If you ask people all the time the login, what would they do? I bet you most of them will use weak password.

Try to reset all Internet Explorer settings:

    Next reset LAN settings:
Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
Next clear all Temporary Internet Files:
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.
