Clearing the cache in an iWeb attempt to publish

In creating a new site, I was publishing to a folder on my desktop. When I was ready, I attempted to publish to MobileMe. (I have an account.) I was unsuccessful and called AppleCare. They stepped me through clearing of the cache and then the publishing worked. Now, I have the same problem but can't remember the steps to clear the cache again. If someone can help, I will write it down this time.

They may have been referring to the the User/Library/Caches/iWeb folder that will have many cache files for iWeb. Close iWeb, empty that folder, launch iWeb and try again.

    login problem at an arts forum... login works at other sites.
    I can't log in. They gave me a new password and were able to log in with it, doesn't work for me. They suggested clearing cache.
    I removed a cookie from that site, and tried to clear the cache, but suspect I was unsuccessful. When I go to the login, after attempting to clear the cache and removing cookie, the login form is immediately filled in with a password, which could be the old one or the new one, they are unfortunately the same number of letters.
    How do I get the cache clear if the edit preferences thing is not working?

    As a quick test for cookie or cache problems you can try to switch Private Browsing mode on to see if that allows to log in.
    You can either use Tools > Start Private Browsing or set a check mark in:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
    To see all the History and Cookie settings, select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"<br />
    Do not forget to exit Private Browsing mode after you have finished the login test.

    It's possible that the pages you are attempting to open simply won't work with that old web browser.
    If you're using Mac OS X Tiger, update to the latest version, which is 10.4.11. (You might be using that already. Your profile says you're running 10.4.1, but I bet that's just a typo.)
    Then get the latest version of Safari that will run on Tiger. (And... you have that already: 4.1.3.)
    You might try a more modern browser designed specifically for your current OS. That would be TenFourFox.

  • How do I clear the cache in my MacBook Pro 10.9 Maverick

    How do I clear the cache in my MacBook Pro 10.9 Maverick operating system? Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions. I'm a big dummy when it comes to this sort of thing.

    Hey DrSteveMc,
    Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines where the cache folder is stored. Note that the Library folder is hidden by default in OS X Mavericks. To access this folder, hold down option when clicking the Go menu in Finder:
    OS X Mavericks: What is the Library folder?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14330
    Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1199
    If the issue does not appear to be related to preferences, a login item, or a kext file, and still persists in Safe Mode, there may be an issue with a cache file in your home folder:
    1. From the Finder's Go menu, choose Home.
    2. Open the Library folder.
    3. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.
    4. Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    5. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.
    6. If issue persists, from the Finder's Go menu, choose Go To Folder.
    7. Go to this folder: /Library
    8. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.
    9. Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    10. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.
    11. If issue persists, go to step 4.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Cannot clear the cache to allow further uploads

    I have tried for days to clear the cache so that I can upload more photos. It starts to say "clearing cache" and then it stops. Please advise?

    Hi,
    I am guessing you are trying to reduce Revel's footprint checking your apps usage in the iOS settings?
    Do you have any uploads pending or is the device still attempting to import?
    You need to run clear cache on each library in your list and your "Friends libraries" list. So if you have 3 libraries you'll need to run the clear cache for each one individually. If you have run clear cache and it's completed it has deleted everything it can for the library. (We keep cached thumbnails always but they are very very small)
    If you only have the one library ping back and we'll go from there.

  • Cleared the Cache on my iPad 1 - Lost all bookmarks.

    I have an iPad 1, 512 mb RAM, 16  gb hard drive . . . possibly jailbroken, I'm not sure - how would you know?
    HI everyone.
    Last evening while attempting to set up a new cloud account on my iPad (details above) I encountered the infamous "too many redirects" message and came to the forums to find out how to correct it.  The foremost response was "clear the cache" and I did, but when I reopened Safari all my bookmarks - hundreds of them - had vanished.
    Needless to say, I quickly closed Safari and reopened it.  The bookmarks didn't reappear. I came back to the forums and tried all suggested methods of recovery : power off, soft reset, change language to Japanese, etc., but nothing worked. The bookmarks remained missing. Subsequent to this, I attempted to sync from my old Windows (Vista) laptop, but it didn't work either.
    I'm at my wits end to try and recover them as most of them were for my studies. I'll be so grateful for any help you can offer.  Thanks in advance.

    If you had a backup, you should be able to restore the system from there....

  • I cleared the cache and my site does not update!  What's the secret?

    I cleared the cache and my site does not update! What's the secret? I created a second website and bought a domain name. You can get to the site by it's mac name or the purchased domain name. I linked the domain name and with my server and it works. The site comes up wither way. BUT, either way, I cannot get my changes to appear. I had realized that my links were not working because I had placed them within the header. So, I moved the links out of the header, republished, and now the new pages (with links in body of website) will not load. Here are the two ways to get to see the site. Both show the old way (links in header). What is up with me not being able to see the changes in either Firefox or Safari?

  • How to clear the cache in the portal browser

    Hello Experts,
    Iam unable to clear the cache in the portal. I tried  clearing the Navigation cache , PRT cache,PCD cache,Database cache,UME cache.
    The senario is in the browser if iam logging with some user X , he should see only 1,2,3 countries, and if i logg off and again logg in the same browser with different user he is seeing same 1,2,3 countries unlike he should see 4,5 countries.
    But if iam opening in different browser iam getting the correct one with cache cleared.
    I want to acheive this in the same browser.
    Qucik help in solving out this cache problem is appreciable.
    Regrds,
    Manasa.

    There is one more important cache: the HTTP Provider Service cache (in VA).
    To find out why the browser is showing the same languages, analyze what the server is sending to the browser with HTTPWatch or Firebug and look at the cache flag. Also check what is the iView cache parameter? Is it user, session, shared or none?
    How do you do the logoff? The best thing is to make sure that the HTTP Session is killed. If not, the portal may send data that is cached for the HTTP Session to the browser. When you open a new browser, you will also open a new HTTP Session. That could be the cause why it is working with a new browser instance.

  • Query for clearing the caches automatically in the portal?

    Hi There,
    We are using EP Portal 6,currently we are having Oracle Archive logs issue which slows down the system.Now we are clearing the caches in the System Landscape-> Universal Worklist & Workflow->Universal Worklist Administration->Universal Worklist u2013Cache Admin by Manually.
    *Is there any steps to do it automatically which helps a lot?
    Thanks,
    Krishna.

    Hi,
    when you refresh the UWL it will clears the cache explicitly, Default time for UWl refresh is 5 min, You can automatically refresh the cache by changing the properties of UWL ivew (in Portal content) -
    sap_uwl_viewname  : DefaultView
    useNavigationId   : com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main
    Check this wiki page for more info on cache interval change and more:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/CompletedtasksdisappearonlyafterarefreshofUWL+cache
    all these work in EP 7 but not sure with EP 6.

  • How to clear the caching realm?

    Hello,
    WebLogic Server 5.1 SP 6 on W2k Server
    Is it possible to emtpy the caching realm inside of an EJB?
    The class weblogic.security.acl.CachingRealm
    provides the clearCaches() method, but I don't know how
    to get the actual cache object within an EJB in the WebLogic
    server.
    Thanx in advance,
    Michael

    yeah word
    This works for sure in a servlet or jsp
    <%
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    BasicRealm basicRealm = Security.getRealm();
    try {
    ((CachingRealm) basicRealm).clearCaches();
    } catch (ClassCastException ce) {
    out.println("There is a class cast exception and getRealm ain't no returned
    a CachingRealm");
    out.println("This probably means that you don't have a pluggable realm
    hooked into WebLogic.");
    out.println("No pluggable Realm = no Cachingrealm!");
    %>
    Is there anyway to clear a particular user from the cache. When the user's
    password
    is changed in the database, i would like to remove this user from the
    Caching
    realm. If i call authUserPassword() with incorrect password, will it
    remove the
    User object from Cache?
    Also, in a cluster, how do i remove the User from all WLS instances.
    thanks for your help.

    Why do you need to clear the caching realm?
    Anyway, I think you can do it by (I haven't tried this):
    import weblogic.security.acl.Realm;
    import weblogic.security.acl.Security;
    import weblogic.security.acl.CachingRealm;
    Realm genericRealm = Security.getRealm();
    CachingRealm cachingRealm = (CachingRealm)genericRealm;
    cachingRealm.clearCaches();

  • Clearing the cache on version 6.5.2

    I was told I should clear my caches now and then...trouble is I can't find out how to do this. Yasu works for the system and browser ones, but how do I clear Quicktime's? I've clicked on everything there was available to click on in Quicktime Preferences and Player Preferences.

    It could be: sorry, but I don't remember and I don't have a system with 6.5 to check.
    But it really shouldn't matter; clearing your web browser's cache should accomplish the same thing.
    Are you have some problem that you've been told that clearing the cache might help? If so, let us know and we may be able to either verify that solution or provide an alternative. If this is just a precaution, then Yasu should have done the necessary clearing and you don't need to worry further.
    Regards.

  • Clear the cache

    hi
    i develop an extension for indesign with CS extension builder 2 et Flashbuilder 4.6, is it possible to clear the cache during the execution of the extension ? because indesign crash after 2 minutes of execution.
    thanks
    Simon

    Try "profile as..."
    You're probably accessing too many collections.
    If you post some of your code, we might be able to give pointers on how to improve it.
    I'd suggest taking that discussion to the InDesign Scripting Forum.
