CLFMAS: Change only 1 caracteristic in a non-local material class

I try to modify a material's classification with CLFMAS.
I would like to change only one characteristic. The others ones must keep their old values.
CLFMAS erases everything, and I just have the new value of the caracteric I would change.
I use a non-local class.
  Thanks in advance for your help.

We have the same issue just come up last night.   A test on one class last week yielded the 2 record change history model (old value deleted, new value created).  Applying the same change to a different material class, we get only the single record model - no help or oss notes seem to mention that there are two different change history models in SAP.
CHECK THIS -- check your single record change log in table CDPOS ... you may have values in both value_old and value_new fields there.  The 2 record model stores value_old on the "deleted" record and value_new field value on the "created" record.
That still does not answer why there are two models and how one controls which model is implemented for change history on a class/characteristic ... but it sheds just a little more light on it.

  • Why can't Apple make 'publish changes only' for non .mac users?

    The recent iWeb update to 1.1 and the now increasingly obvious differential between .mac and non .mac features has prompted me to post here today.
    I can understand comments, passwords and search facilities being a .mac only experience because it requires server side technology. I can also understand that .mac users get enhanced features like slideshows as well.
    But why is the fundamentally *basic* option to 'publish the changes only' not available to non .mac users?
    I know uploading to .mac uses a different protocol to uploading via FTP, but I don't think it is about that. Obviously the software engine in iWeb 1.1 can now track the pages that have changed, and flag those for uploading. So if the facility to do this is not available with non .mac uploading, is this some form of crippleware? Can any software engineers comment on this or am I talking off the top of my head? [And please mods, don't delete this post - I use the word 'crippleware' in its harshest form, clearly I can still use iWeb to make fantastic websites - I am asking a technical question here.]

    OK, from reading this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=486335&tstart=0
    There is a pattern: An error occurred while publishing file “/blah/blah", while file "/blah/blah" seems to be random from one person to the next, but they all share one thing and that is communication protocol.
    For iWeb to be able to publish changes to .Mac, it has to:
    1. identify if the file exists
    2. do the following:
    2a. if not exists, copy it to .Mac
    2b. if exist, do some sort comparison - CRC checksum -
    2b1. if checksums match, don't copy
    2b2. if checksums don't match copy it to .Mac
    At least I think that's what going on, I don't have .Mac so that is best I can think of. Perhaps, some Apple SW engineers can jump in here.
    Now, the bad part is iWeb has to (and I'm assuming iWeb uses WebDAV):
    1. go thru each file locally
    2. crawl its way into .Mac (WebDAV is a slow protocol) to find the the counter part.
    3. when it finds a file that matches a client side file, it has to (some how) do checksum on-the-fly across the net work (which is slow and congested)
    #3 is I think where it failed, there are many factors here: 1) networks congestion 2) latency 3) protocol overhead 4) checksum calculation time etc...
    iWeb eventually times out because any/all of the above.
    It's nice that WebDAV can author to the host yada, yada, but it's so SLOOOOOW.
    What I would do is for every publishing, I would build a files and their checksums keep it on the host (or local, must be hidden).
    For subsequence publishing, I would (use a fast protocol like FTP) download this pre-built files/checksums list. Locally, do a full publishing, making checksum comparison, the result is delta changes; upload only those. Build a new files/checksums list upload that too.
    What I mean to say is offload everything that is possible to local machine, bandwidth is PREMIUM!

    But  i dont know how can i cahnge the valuation type for Non serialized material.
    Also may i know why i am facing problem in IE4N, Is it required some configuration to directing changing the valuation type in IE4N itself.

  • Non Valuated material accounting posting

    Hi friends ,
    While reading the help of NON Valuated material ...I come across the below statement.
    "The stock of a given material is only managed on a quantity basis, an account assignment must be defined in the purchase order. However, this account assignment does not result in the goods receipt being posted to consumption/usage. Instead, it results in the costs being debited to the account assignment object."
    From this statement , my expectation was ...
    In case of VALUATED MATERIAL (like spares etc) and Account assignment K in PO ,  system will automatically determine the GL from OBYC against GBB / VBR keys , but here at my end system is not picking this GL in PO line item and asking me to enter the GL along with Cost center and other account assignment details.
    Similar details like GL and account assignment is asked by system for NON Valuated material also.
    In both cases , entered GL is getting debitted ... therefore looking for the perfect explaintaion of SAP HELP statement given above.
    Regards
    Shrey

    Ok ...
    Now my understanding is like
    In case of VALUATED MATERIAL with Account Assiged PO (say K) , system will pick the GL automatically from GBB / VBR and in case of NON VALUATED MATERIAL with Account Assigned PO (Say K) , system WILL NOT pick any GL and You have enter it Manually in PO line detail (Account Assignment Tab).
    AND IN BOTH CASES GL in PO Line item ( Account Assignment) will get debitted and GR/IR gets Credited at the time of MIGO.
    The Only advantage of using NON VALUATED material is ...... system will also update Qty and which can issue to any cost center in future ( to track Qty ) ........
    BUT IN CASE I remove "QTY UPDATE" tick from NON-VALUATED Material type ( for my valuation Area) , then I am expecting system will not update any Qty and in THAT CASE BOTH material type (VALUATED AND NON VALUATED) will behave in similar manner , except (automatic) GL determination at PO level.
    is this right ?
    Regards

  • How to change Item mang method to 'None' from Serial No. On release only .

    I need help in changing the Item management method to "NONE". I hv created the item as Manage by Serial No. On Relase only. I hv aslo entered the Opening balance of 6000 pcs. But now i want to change the mange item to NONE. But when i try 'Goods Issue' its asking serial no for 6000 pcs. Please help
    Thanks in advance

    I have the reversed situation.
    We started with SBO 2004 A PL37. We migrated the inventory from legacy system which doesn't support Batch / Serial No.
    For those Items that we need Batch / Serial Numbers tracking, we set them accordingly in Item Master.
    So, now we have Items On Hand which was migrated into the system as not tracked by Batch / Serial Number. So, when we wanted to deliver the Items, we could not enter the Serial / Batch Numbers.
    What we did was to set Manage Item By to None, did a Goods Issue, Set Manage Item by to Batch or Serial and then do a Goods Received. We were able to change the Manage Item By in SBO 2004 PL37.
    We have upgraded to SBO 2005 A SP1 PL43. We noticed we could no longer change the Manage Item By. As such, we could not add Serial Numbers to the On Hand items. We also could not transfer it out first (Manage Item By = 'None') and receive it back.
    What can we do? Do we change the Manage Item By at the table level? That is not adviseable. We still have many such items.

  • Inaccessible with local variable(non-final) via method local inner class

    Hi All,
    Usually local variables, including automatic final variable live on the stack and objects & instanace variables live on the heap.The contracts for using the method local inner class should allow merely method final variable, not non-final stack variable.
    Can anyone please clarify me ,behind the scene what is actual fact why method inner class should not access the stack(method) variable and only allow final variable?
    Is anything correlated with the stack and heap aspects?
    Thanks,

    ...Final variables are copied into inner classes - that's why they have to be declared final; to avoid the developer making an incorrect assumption that the local variable can be modified and have the change reflected in the copy.
    When a local class uses a local variable, it doesn't actually use the variable. Instead, it takes a copy of the value which is contained in the variable at the moment the class is instantiated. It's like passing the variable to a constructor of the class, except that you do not actually declare any such constructor in your code.
    To avoid messy execution flows to be present in a Java method, the Java language authors thought it was better to allow a single value to be present in such a variable throughout all its life. Thus, the variable has to be declared final.

  • Password self-service errors -  Password can be changed only once in a day

    Hi experts,
    We've been using password resets without issues for several months. Recently we upgraded from version 5.3 SP12 to SP14.
    I've read the CUP release note that explains that how password resets now validates against the ABAP system parameter for login/password_change_waittime.
    The errors we are experiencing happen even when the users' password is reset for the first time in a day.
    Error message:
    X Unable to reset password in the following system(s): ECDCLNT100. Password can be changed only once in a day
    Please advise if you have experienced this error, if there is a resolution, and/or if there is a way to disable the parameter check.
    FYI - We are only using password resets in our non-production systems and are not concerned with multiple daily password resets.
    Thanks.

  • When I use Firefox to monitor changes I do to HTML files locally, it does not show changes to images unless I restart the browser. Is this a bug?

    I have the local and the remote versions of a page open in two tabs. I change one of the images (keeping the same name in the HTML) and upload the changed image. The tab that shows the remote page only takes a refresh to show the change. The tab showing the local page not. I have tried opening it in a new window but it still does not change. Only if I restart Firefox does it show the change. Why? Is this a bug?

    grantheaslip's suggestion doesn't work for me; no change at all. (Thanks anyway.) Any other ideas? Is there another way to "hard" refresh? I don't see anything in the menu.
    Also, it seems like this is a very recent problem. I thought in the past that a regular refresh did the job.

  • Rebind invoked from non-local host (AccessException)

    Hi all,
    I have a simple RMI setup where a client class asks for a new object from a server class, however, I use this call to create the new object on the server and then attempt to register it with the rmiregistry before passing the remote reference back (ie UnicastRemoteObject). This is because I want the client to access a new remote object on the server (the new object may not be serializable).
    The problem is after I tried it with a remote machine, I got an AccessException, Registry.rebind disallowed. This seems to be because you can't get a client (non-local) to affect the registry for security. Fair enough. Although I thought becuase it is a method on the server which does the actual object creation and registration that it IS local and it would work...
    any comments...?
    is there a way around this...?
    Thanks in advance,
    Toby

    Hi...You can rebind a object only from the local machine...RMI does not allow remote binding of the objects because of security reasons and whenever you try to do so you get an Access Exception.
    Hope this Helps.

  • Enabling Silent Auto-update in Java 7.45 as a non-local administrator user, enterprise best practices?

    So I have been looking through forums, java help, and everywhere possible for more insight on java in an enterprise environment. What I have found so
    far is that there is no actual way to enable auto updates to install as a non-local admin user.
    I know you can turn on and off updates My company wants to install java JRE as a silent-autoupdate "always update" kind of installation, but all my users are domain users, without admin rights. When it finds an update - it prompts for credentials and obviously they are denied. Is this even possible?  If it is not possible to "auto-update" non local admins, I can make the case to management that java releases need to be QA'd and controlled releases. My environment is adminstudio/installshield and SCCM. I know auto-installing updates to java without QA per version , in a enterprise environment, is not good practice, but its not my decision right now.

  • Changes only in iweb o9

    Hi, I have searched these posts nad the web and haven't found the answer ( that I can understand:)) I have iweb 08, I publish to a folder and then upload to my isp web space through a third party ftp app. Every time I want to change I have to delete the site and re-upload, tiresome. I hear you can make changes in 09. What does that mean exactly? Can I change one photo? Delete and/or replace one page? Add text to one page? Do I upload the whole site and it just replaces the changes only, or .. ok, I am lost and a newbie as you can tell. Do I need to or should I use Apple's built in ftp now to accomplish those changes? Thanks for any help you can give:)

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you cleared your browser's cache and reloaded the site?
    If you have and still not see the changes publish the site to a permanent folder on the hard drive and open the site locally. If all the changes are there they the problem lies with the uploading of the files.
    If you're using iWeb's ftp client try publishing to a folder and using a 3rd party ftp client likeCyberduck (free) or Transmit. I use Transit and find it easier to set up. Both can determine the new files and upload just the new ones. But for that to work you have to leave all of the files in that permanent folder between edits and republications.

  • How to create groups with non-local addresses

    I want to create a mailing group that consists of non-local addresses like [email protected], [email protected]
    How to do this ? I know that editing /etc/aliases redirects to local accounts only. The above is possible by editing /etc/postfix/virtual and do a postmap on this file. Is there any alternate way ?

    I use an include file for my groups - easier to modify...
    In /etc/postfix/aliases...
    some_groupname: :include:/path_to/groupname.txt
    In the 'groupname.txt' file (textedit, plaintext file), a list of the members...
    localemailuser
    [email protected]
    After any edit of the group file... sudo newaliases

  • Registry.rebind disallowed; origin /11.0.10.31 is non-local host.

    Hello everyone.
    I have a problem.
    I have a server that I register in the RMI registry. Client from a remote machine get the server (as a remote object) and calls his method for the generation of another object on the parameters passed. The server creates this object and tries to register it in the RMI registry, and this raises an exception Registry.Registry.rebind disallowed; origin /11.0.10.31 is non-local host.
    What could be the problem and how to solve it?
    Thanks.

    Ah, this is the problem. It's a bit difficult to explain but if you create an in-JVM Registry and then call rebind() on the result while executing a remote method on behalf of a client, your are doing a local method invocation on the Registry instance so the client host appears to be the calling client rather than yourself. Change the rebind() call to use Naming.rebind() and the problem will go away.

  • Non-local searches return "null" results

    I'm creating a Merged help output using AIR Browser Based Help. Said output currently has one major flaw: null search results when viewed over a network.
    Now, I have read through the thread on this forum about people who initially got a "null" search result when searching a local project, but with the search subsequently working, and indeed that behavior is what I was initially seeing. That is, on my local copy of the project, my first search would return "null," and then things would work normally. However, when other users accessed my local project over our network, they never got anything other than "null" results. (Quick aside for relevant information: output was from 64-bit RH9, testing is on FIrefox 13 and I.E. 9) If I move my local copy onto the network, I am no longer successful in searching.
    I have performed the suggested fix on the whfhost.js file, and while it fixed the problem locally-- I no longer see "null" results-- the problem persists for non-local access. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    For the benefit of anyone else, this is the solution that was provided by Adobe.
    Open the generated output folder and open whfhost.js file in the notepad application. Search for the following strings in the file. you need to replace this function
    function Query()
      gbAIRSearchString  = goOdinHunter.strQuery;
    g_CurPage = 1;
    context = new HuginContext();
      context.reset();
    context.push( goOdinHunter.query, goOdinHunter,
      processHunterResult, null );
      context.resume();
    With this new function
    function isValidType(obj)
    return ( (typeof(obj)!='undefined')&&(obj!=null) );
    function Query()
      gbAIRSearchString  = goOdinHunter.strQuery;
    g_CurPage = 1;
    if (isValidType(context) && isValidType(context.aTasks))
      while(context.aTasks.length>0)
      context.resume();
    context = new HuginContext();
      context.reset();
    context.push( goOdinHunter.query, goOdinHunter,
      processHunterResult, null );
      context.resume();
    And try running the output and see if you stilll face the null search result problem
    If this problem is fixed, then you can go to the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 8\RoboHTML\WebHelp5Ext\template_stock folder location, and make the similar changes in the whfhost.js file located in this folder.
    It has worked for others so I would first check carefully that you have made the modification correctly.
    If you reverse the change, are you back to square one and get a null result first time?
    The modification was for RoboHelp 8 or 9. You haven't said what version you are using.
    Does it fail with all browsers?

  • Is there a way to change the ring tone to none for one particular contact?

    I see there is an option to turn the text message settings for a particular contact to 'none'.  Is there a way to change the ring tone to 'none' or 'silent' for only one contact.  This is a person who calls way too often and I used to turn their ringer to 'none' when I had a blackberry.  This way I can talk to this person when it is convenient for me and not have to listen to the ringer everytime they call.

    You need to sync a silent ringtone to your phone & then assign it to that contact. Here's one already made:
