Click a letter in a list

Hi, i remember some days ago, that it was possible to navigate in an itunes-list through pressing letters (for example pressing 'J' for 'James Brown').
How is it possible that this intuitive way of finding my music was cancelled? Maybe somebody knows a reason or solution for this.
I could imagine, this is a old bug and i would like to write it to the itunes-support-Team. Do somebody know an address or how i can find a mail-formular (i found nothing).

How can I restore my iPhone 4's iOS5 backup without restoring iOS if the option to "Restore from Backup" doesn't appear when I right click it in the device list?

(Lengthy question, I know Let me explain.)
A few days ago, I decided to clear out the music on my computer. So, I copied everything out of iTunes to my external hard drive (podcasts, music, movies, tv shows, books, and apps) and deleted all that I could find, including the iTunes folder. I forgot that the iTunes library files were in there, and those went too; unsurprisingly, I was greeted with an empty library when I next opened iTunes. After adding all my files back from my external hard drive, everything's all good there - no lost files, everything seems fine. However, since my library is a "new" library, iTunes wishes to erase everything on my iPhone 4. Which is also fine, for everything except my apps. I'd really rather not lose all my application settings and data that are saved in my backup. But, I cannot just "Restore from Backup" by right-clicking my device in the list in iTunes, so... I haven't synced my iPhone since I did this, so all of my data is still on there, but it's in the backup as well. If I have to erase all iTunes content, I definitely have to be able to restore the backup over it since I don't want to lose all my settings and Springboard layout. I'd prefer not to restore iOS because I don't want to go from iOS5 to 5.0.1, nor do I have 8 hours to download the IPSW file on my super-speedy internet connection Any guidance on restoring my iPhone from its backup?

Here's an interesting bit: iTunes will let me restore my iPod touch from backup: it's still running iOS 4.3.3. I figured as much... there's backups showing in the Preferences -> Devices list for both devices (and even my old, long gone iPod touch 2G), but my iPhone (on iOS5) isn't giving me any such option. I remember I had to downgrade before to get the backup restored (something went haywire in the setup assistant, and I couldn't restore a backup from iTunes there)... If it was possible to go to iOS 5.0 rather than 5.0.1 I would just do the same thing again, but iOS 5.0.1 isn't an option. I attached a screenshot. Hopefully Apple can get this nonsense sorted out; I think iOS 5 might be the root of this, somehow.

The only listing is my email address and when you sync it, it really does not sync, it adds another email account with the same name, and no contacts sync with it.

also - when I use camera wizard it just tells me the phone is busy or in use and I should retry.
If I use it through windoes explorer - it shows me the camera to computer symbols and a line moving between then but bombs out saying camera is busy.

You need to have the following ports open for proper functioning of DOE in firewall environment ( I have configured the following ports in our server based on requirements):
SAP Message Server ports - 3600,3601
SAP DOE /ABAP http port - 8000 or 80 (or whatever ABAP http port you have configured).
SAP Gateway ports : 3300,3301
SAP dp00 and dp 99 - 3200, 3299
Sometimes required - SAP host control ports - 1128, 1129

I am getting unwanted popup ads about software update for software that I don't have installed. I have an iMac 20", 2009, running 10.10.2 Yosemite. This just started this week. I read that Adobe Flash Player was causing problems with mac's and Windows pc's. I did the Adobe Flash Player update for windows 7, on my pc's. Is this my problem here on the iMac? I also get popup ads when viewing and crags list ads. they appear in the midle of the screen, and in the lower right hand corner. Any advice, suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked.

How to build a button on click of which opens a list below it

I have a requirement wherein onclick of button I want to open/close list/popup (which is displayed below button, just like in select list) and can select any item from list to do some action.

This is the wrong place for urgent requests.
Just like select list? Why not select list?
What version are you? If >= 4.x, you can hide a region on entry, then show/refresh region on click of button using dynamic action.

OK, it would seem that people out there are having a few problems with SD card compatibility, so lets help a little and post make/model of SD cards that work with the Zen 2/4/8/6/32gb models.
My cards are as follows, they both work fine in my Zen 6gb F/W version .20.02
Transcend 4gb SDHC class 6
Veho 8gb SDHC class 6

Creating right/left click scroll with a data list and being able to click indiv.item from data list?

I've created a data list that contains a photo with text. I'd like to be able to right click the horizontal list instead of a scrolling bar. Could you please direct me on this?
I'd also like to select each individual box from the scrolling data list and click to their website or to a menu... not sure on how to do that either??

Funny, I was in the middle of writing an article on how to do this. The simple answer is you create a standard scrollbar with all four parts: track, thumb, increment button, and decrement button. Attach it to your data list, then make the opacity of the track and thumb = 0.
To make each item in your data list do something different, use the interactions panel and add a On Click interaction. You should notice there is an option toward the bottom of that panel to change from "When any item is selected" to "When a specific item is selected". Remember, programmers like to start counting from 0, so your first item in your data list i 0.
Note: In the attached example on the first two items are selectable.

10.9.2 Mail - Shows 5 flagged messages; clicked - no messages in the list

My upgrade from OS X Lion 10.7.5 to OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 was fairly straightforward. No major issues.
However, Mail shows 5 flagged messages. When clicking on Flagged indicator, there are no message in the list. Strange. Everything else appears to work as expected.

Is an external display connected and turned off? If not, open Mission Control. Do you see the window(s) in any other spaces?

Clicking an element in a list doesn't work

Sorry about my rather vague subject - my problem is not so easy to sum up in a few words.
I am working on an application that
- Displays a list of items from a MySQL table
- Each item should be clickable, and on clicking should open an edit page with the clicked item pre-loaded
This must have been done millions of times before and should be simple. It doesn't work, presumably because I know too little. This is what I have done:
The clickable item list looks like this (without all the trimmings):

This displays a list of the right sort of items, but the clickable item (the UID) doesn't do anything. Also, the resulting html looks the same no matter what I put into the action element - this is the inside of the a-tag:

I'm not entirely sure what that means; all I know is that it does not call the edituser() method.

I do believe "ul" should be "userlist"; in other words it will link to an action method "edituser()" in a JSF managed bean which I assume will be named Userlist. Its really simple when you run into the problem of an action method not working: 99/100 times the action method EL declaration is wrong. Now it could be typo, but I've been known to forget the #{} part too...
I use the JBoss Tools Eclipse plugin myself; it has nice JSF additions that add EL validation and autocompletion to the editor. That way I know already from the code view when I've made a mistake in stead of "at runtime". A missing action method turns up as a warning in the jsf editor for example. That is of course only helpful when you're actually using Eclipse ;)

As i type single letter it displays list of ids , how to overcome it ?

when ever i type a single letter to log in to gmail or yahoo it displays a list of email ids with that letter .
Is there any option to remove it so that it won't display any ids or won't remember any .

Why not let the song listed in their title in their native language?

iTunes Music Store finally come to Hong Kong, it is a long waiting.
After I walk arround in the Music Store, I discovery that most of the Chinese song is listed in Romanization but not in Chinese. Therefore, many of our well know song are all become unknow song, and it need us to guess and click the preview to find the answer.
So, why not list the song in their native language, , Chinese song in Chinese, Japanese song in Japanese, and not in romanization. It is too hard to identify and sreach the song to us now!

I cannot open any of my podcast pages in my library.All get is a "Whats New" message which I cannot remove.Clicking on the tabs (eg lists) has no effect.I am still using Windows XP. Any ideas guys?

My podcast page in 'My library' does not show. I have "What's New" message but can't access/play podcasts from the page so unable to play on laptop.I still get automatic downloads of new podcasts and transfer to my ipod. It is just that I cannot play any of them on the laptop as "Lists" or "My podcasts" cannot be viewed, only the "What's up" message, so just cant access any newor old on my laptop screen. Clicking a picture in the list shows me a different picture

When I view my album of images the preview will sometimes show me a picture I took recently but when I touch the preview it shows me an image from months ago that isn't even on my phone anymore. This happens very often, and is repeatable. Every time I click some pictures it shows me an old one instead. Syncing the phone doesn't help anything. Has anyone else had this problem?

Use iTunes to remove all pics, currently synced to your phone, from your phone. Then, close iTunes and delete the iPod photo cache, as described here:

Once complete, launch iTunes, connect your phone and sync your pics back to your phone. This initial sync may take longer than usual as the iPod photo cache is re-built. See if doing this fixes things.
