Click Bios II is broken

I just updated Click Bios II to version 1.0.123 and it does not work.  Is MSI aware that it is broken?

Quote from: miklkit on 06-January-14, 23:26:56
I have installed and uninstalled it 3 times and it does not work.  A clue is right at the top on the FSB adjustment.  Default is 200 but it is shown as 2.00.  I have tried, for example, 205.00 and 2.05 and it either changes nothing or says it's a bad sum.  No other values get changed either.
It works for you?  The 13.4 bios makes no difference with this.
Interesting, I changed the fsb in CB II, it displays as you describe, but does not keep the setting after reboot. We need to report this behavior to msi technical. You can change fsb in control center or bios. Control center you have to set it each boot. bios keeps the setting. So far every thing els I have done in CB II works, but the fsb. I will see if I can inform msi about this issue, I may even try older version of cb II.  Thanks for the info.

I created a post not to long ago asking for help with a situation. I bought a new Board 1 week ago. Board was Brand new, never opened...
"""This Board Is Not suppose to Have A Uefi Bios.....This Board is Not suppose to have One Click Bios II........"""""""""
The only reason I bought the board---The company I went to purchase, Had a deal on another board with a Pile-driver Processor. I am the type that will read and read, till I know everything about an item before I purchase..Found out that most of the time, you can purchase a combo and find out that the bios has not been updated for the cpu. Only way to fix, buy an older or cheaper cpu and update. I talked to the salesman and come to find out ,the combos they were offering had the same issue..This board had the uefi Bios...I did not want to go threw the head ache, so I opted for a different board..I was told it had no uefi Bios...and I was fine with that, It was a better Board. But than I found out that it too, was not ready for the pile driver...But it was ready for the bulldozer. I have owned the same cpu before. So I purchase The bulldozer and this board-990xa-GD55....
Brought it home-read up on it.....Read it did not have uefi bios...and that was fine...Built the unit top to btm.....Booted it up or hit the power button.....For some reason it took about 30-60 sec to come on. But once it did...I hit delete too get to bios..Guess what I seen--One Click Bios 2..That was weird but ok...download windows 7 all my drivers, all my updates...But I could not find the download for one click bios on the site or on the cd....and everywhere I read claimed that this board was not to have this bios. I even wrote a post here asking about the download...What I was told---This board does not have uefi Bios....So I responded with a pic of my bios and I have not heard back..
I would like to hear from users just like me on this subject..Do you have the same Bios I have? It says One Click Bios II...I am not complaining...This board runs awesome and does everything I need it to do. I am very pleased. I wish I could get the download to have one click on my desktop..Like my other-boards...I am not a newbie to building, and I have had this bios on a few different computers. I would just like to hear, if you might have the same bios...and any issues you had when updating...I am scared to update the bios..I probably will not do it..I would hate to lose this feature.
Thanks for reading and sorry about my Grammar and spelling....
Update--I have been beating my head over this...I know MSI says we are not suppose to have this bios....But if you look up this in Google..
Can't change CPU voltage on MSI 990xa-GD55 Mobo
Look at the screenshot....That guy is using one Click Bios 2----tooo........
I have a feeling that alot of people that buy these boards are new to this bios feature, and just don't know better...This is suppose to have the older version of Bios....Not one Click 2...Guy in this post as the same bios as me.....Maybe if enough of use tell these guys we have it--They will include a download for it on Windows...On my other boards...I have one click bios on the board and can access it in Windows with a simple download....Thanks MSI for this feature...But please hook us up with the download too.......I would use the download from another board-But I know better...so I can wait till MSI offers....

If you are reading this and you are like me. You came here for answers. From what the guys here are telling me and from what I have read. These boards are not advertised as having the bios. When I purchased this board I was told that this did not have it. Than in my other post I was told this did not have it. But after a long winded Post. The Msi Tech said these boards come with it and that this model does not support the One Click Bios 2, in windows, Like there other boards. To me that really makes no scene, But I don't make the boards. I am sure these guys can write a program to take advantage of this awesome feature. I did some more hunting and amd has nothing to do with it, so i am assuming it is just this chip-set. To me this really make no scene. But having this bios was Bonus. If you read online or any review-either the person writing the review really never used the board, or maybe he never tried the bios. But I found numerous reviews claiming this board was missing this uefi and it only came with traditional Bios. 'Makes You wonder".........But I am over it....If your wondering these board do come with the uefi Bios but not advertised..advertised as having the older traditional Bios. Hope they will come out with an update for the one click Bios feature in Windows soon.....works out nice when you need to dbl check setting with out resetting your computer..
As for Ram--I asked about using 2133....One the many Msi Boards I have used in the past. There boards have a feature That allows you to just tick what frequency you want to use and than it will set the timing for you. I understand that Your memory controller is in the chip...But this program is in the bios. On This board the Highest is 1866...But when pressing 1866, it will not run it stable. sometimes it wont even post. The ram I am using is g.skill 2133 and i have used it in tons of there other boards with no issues. I have even used it in another bulldozer set up at 2133, Different board....Ran well. This board Can use 2133 easy, but in order to do it you have to go in and set the timing and voltage...Not a big deal for those people that do it all the time. But I like the one click and go. Even though one of the ticks is 1866, this board will need adjustment...so anything over 1600 will need to be done manually. My original question was this board says it can take 2133oc...I am one of the few that know nothing about setting timing and voltage, But with this board I am learning...if any of you have this board and this ram.....f3-17000cl11-4gbxl........Let me know what you set yours on to run at 2133....I have already tried----
11-11-11-31-41"1t and 2t" voltage 1.6.......and it does not run stable.....Maybe I just lucked on on my other board, but I do not own it no more to compare...I would like to hear how you got yours to run stable.......I don't need it.....I just want to do it...
Thanks for reading and sorry about my spelling and grammar.....

  • Click Bios II Won't Load?

Anyone else having an issue with Click Bios II in Windows 8.1 Pro??
    Here is the setup..
    Z77A-GD65
    Windows 8.1 Pro
    Windows 7 Ultimate
I have it setup for dual boot because i still provide tech support for a ton of 7 users so its just nice to have both available in front of me when doing phone support as a step by step walk along with them.
I have been liking the difference in 8.1, some things i don't like but thats life, but overall it seems so much faster!
Anyway, i installed all the latest drivers and software from MSI and everything works except for Click Bios II.  It does work in Windows 7 however!
When i try to open Click Bios II the loading image comes up and it just sits there saying loading, FOREVER, i thought it might just take a little time as it doesnt seem to be that fast in Windows 7 either so i stepped away and got busy doing something else, i came back an hour later and it was still showing Loading......
So i had to end task the bugger... I rebooted into the bios setup made the change i wanted to and rebooted and everything was fine but i still cant get Click II to load, kind of annoying because i really liked that feature to pop into the bios while trying to help someone over the phone (i have sold at least two dozen of these boards now to customers) without having to reboot my system as well.
    Any ideas?

That did the trick... Odd.. never had to do that in 7..
Setup the shortcut for run as admin in 8.1 and now it works every time.  Thanks!
I knew there was something simple i wasnt trying.

  • 990XA-GD55-One Click Bios 2 In Windows Download? 2133 DDR3 Ram?

I am new to this site.I have been using these boards for awhile now..I noticed that most of my builds, that have one click bios 2...will have a download for one click bios 2, that you can use on your desktop..I like this feature and i have used it on a few other computers I have..Works great. So I purchased this board--The board when i purchased-showed that it had no ufei bios. But I decided to purchase it anyways..When I got it home and put the system together..I booted it...First cold boot kind of scrared me.Took a long time to boot.Just the first time...After that kind of boots normal. A little slower than my other Msi boards. But still fast.....Once it booted-I got into bios and there it was, On Click Bios 2.....what a surprice......Very Happy.....But>>>>>>>
I download Windows 7 and all the updates....downloaded all the drivers....Download all the MSi Utilities....But one is missing...On my other boards with one click bios 2..there is a download, so you can use the bios in Windows...But there is not one on the site or on the disk..So I hunted for a post that could explain why and I don't see it...and i can not find nothing...When I downloaded Contol Center--Like my other boards..I see the little sign in the top right corner for One Click...But I don't have it downloaded....Man that was way to winded to ask a dumb question...
Can I download one click Bios 2 from another board"site"..so i can use it on this board...and why is there not a download for it already....I am sure it is compatible...It has One Click Bios 2 as the main Bios...There should be a download on the site..with this Board...
Second Question-----I try and make it a point to use High Freq Ram around 2133....so I read online that this board take it OC'd...Figured it can take it too...So like my otherboards..I went into Bios and looked to change it..but the highest settings, was the 1866....so I clicked it...and changed it from auto....Computer rebooted and would not post....so after I reset the bios---I tried 1600..and it did post....How do I get it to run at 2133...
I have a FX 8150, and i know it can handle the 2133....Is there a step that I am skipping...I would be happy if I just ran it at 1866...
I have never set timing before or Voltage...I have never tried to overclock....If it don't just have a simple tick for it...I am at a lost...Ram i am using is G.Skill F3-17000cl11-4gbxl----2 sticks...total of 8 gbs....
Sorry for my grammar and spellling...sometime my fingers type faster than my mind.....

Sorry if I am being difficult......My board...990XA-GD55....Bought from Frys a week ago has Uefi Bios....I promise...It has one Click Bios...I will take a pic and post it for you once my camera charges........Trust me when I read up on this board..It is saying that it does not come with it....I have Click Bios II...Trust me......No matter what the link say...It is on my board..I have not updated the bios or anything, because I thought this was weird that every site i see says no uefi Bios......Cpuz reads it as 990XA-GD55(MS-7640) Bios AMI V22.2...........
Trust me when i tell you- I wanted the deal frys had on the new Piledriver and board, but when we looked it up...The boards Bios was not updated to take that new cpu///////so I decided on this one, even though it did not have the uefi Bios....Than found out this board was not ready for the new cpu...so i ended up taking the bulldozer 8150......But I will shut this computer down and take a pic for you....I am not complaining.......Just wondering why????and if I do--why there was not a download for it on windows like my other boards I have built....This is the 6th MSI Board I have built in the past 3 months....
as for the Ram..I understand that the processor has a memory controler...I have a buldozer 8150....never faulted the board...I was just asking why it will not post on 1866....The board can take 1866 and under 2133 oc....But this will only run stable at 1600.....I can run 1866 but I have to tweek the settings...I hope that made sence...usually on my other boards..I can just tick the speed and the board will figure it out..I am running the same ram in this board ....z77ma-g45..and it had the setting for 2133........The issue when I tick 1866...this board will not post...I will have to just set the timing and voltage to run 2133...and that is not an issue...
please understand...I have no issues with this board..I have no issues with this ram...I am looking for answers..The Bios has got me thinking ..I will take a pic and post for you..Thanks for your quick responce...
update--I could not figure out how to get pics on this site...so here is a photobucket....This is a pic of my bios...version e7640ams Version 2.22
    http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y526/njfulwider5/DSCF4711_zps62a30549.jpg
I can add more pics if there is something you need.....I am as confused as you--I have hunted everywhere to find somebody that has the same issue as me...I like the idea of it being here...so updating the bios is not an option...I would hate to loose it.....Please if you are reading-please give me a confirmation if you have a board like this too---------Now that I proved I have it....why do i have it....and can i download the oneclick bios 2 for windows.....When I bought the board..It was wraped...never used...I was the first user..It came like this right out of the box.......

Hey Everyone! Does anyone know if the MSI 790GX-G65 supports the new UEFI / Click BIOS? I presume that if it does, I could use the forum's bios flashing tool to update it

    No.
The board uses old-style AMIBIOS8 coded BIOS releases.  There will be no UEFI (AMI Aptio coded) releases for this board.
Still, for BIOS Updates, >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<.

  • P45 platinum bios/oc issues / Click bios info

damn board is annoying me, it's currently running bios 1.7b9 but it's being a twit, firstly getting it to run the memory at 1066 (I've got 2*2gb kingston hyperX pc8500) is proving really difficult yet it was easy on my previous gigabyte p35 board. The only success I have had so far is to knock the multi down to 11 from 12.5 and thats got me fairly close, cpu is an E5200 btw and currently at fsb of 341 with the ram at 511 , ram voltage doesn't have any effect though I haven't messed with the finer voltages which are on auto
more annoying is the fact that it will do the power up / power straight back off thing 2 or more times when switching on before staying on yet is completly stable when it's on, also it seems to have trouble with the time which keeps changing when powered off, bios battery is fine and I've cleared the bios several times including with the battery removed
I'm putting the time and possibly the power up issues down to the bios version as it was fine on the old 1.6, but is there any other bios between 1.6 and 1.7b9 that would be better to use or shall I just go back to 1.6?
also this Uefi "click" bios which seems rather secretive and mysterious, noticed that there is one available for the P45 platinum but there is absolutly no info on it, has anyone tried it and is it worth me trying it?

    Try:
    - DRAM Voltage = 2.1V
    - DDR_Reference Voltage Settings (Both): 0.9550V
    - Spread Spectrum = Disabled

If you expect it to solve system and memory overclocking issues:  No.
If you have no special needs for an UEFI Implementation (Software Wise): No.
If you simply want to look at it and see how it works:  Well, go ahead.

  • Getting rid of Click Bios on P45 Platinum

So I thought I'd test Click Bios. It was fun for a while but is incredibly slow to boot and is most definitly not finished at all (Disabeling the onboard soundcard made it imposible to enter Click Bios again).
So I want to reflash the old BIOS, I tried the guide on the Click BIOS page (http://www.msi.com/html/popup/MB/uefi/guide_u_l.html) but it says that the BIOS is write protected. I cannot find that feature anywhere in Click Bios at all, so I cannot flash the old BIOS.
Does anybody know where I might find that feature or anyway around this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!
The problem I had with UEFI Click Bios 1.43 my system can not use.
A UEFI installation of Windows from the UEFI shell is not possible neither in IDE, AHCI or RAID mode, loading the Windows setup files in the RAM more than 90 minutes after discontinuation of the installation disk partitioning with bluescreen. An installation in bios emulation mode while the system is very unstable faults in RAM, often with a system crash.
At 19.06 I was at the Customer Service Support by MSI changed
In response, I received at 20.06 that a test is made.
At 02.07 I update miy BIOS with the latest legacy Bios 1.74 to check if the problem still persists
(Under Bios 1.74 proceeded to install Windows Vista and Windows 7 correctly and in the normal time frame. The loading of the Windows Setup files "Windows is loading files into memory did not last longer than a minute the rest of the installation 20 minutes. Both in the IDE, AHCI and RAID0 mode. Access to the RAID Bios with the keyboard works flawlessly. Diagnostic tests of memory real flawlessly. The system is running properly and stable.) The Problem is UEFI Click Bios 1.43
    At 14.07 I received a final response from MSI:Quote
1.For the EFI bios is only for ERP 020 for thr hardware design and at the same time, the original bios of 010(your motherboard version) is legacy bios.
2.If U insist to use EFI bios and please feed back the issue to your reseller direcly because that we could find the same memory as your's indeed. And the reseller will help you or ask MSI HQ for help.Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
This answer I do not quite
An answer to my question whether the error was reproducibly remained unanswered
    1. Is there a P45D3 Platinum with ERP 020 (ms 7513-020) available?
    2. How can I Windows Vista 64 with SP1 or Windows 7 RC from the UEFI-shell to correctly install?
    3. Is My Memory compatible with UEFI Click Bios V.1.43?
    Best regards,

For BIOS Update: >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<

Hey guys real quick. So after updating to the new 7670IMS>310 bios so that I may use my GTX780s, I reinstalled with windows 8. Everything was fine until I was on teamviewer just last nite and upon switcing sides my bios got corrupted. How do I know you ask? Upon getting back into windows my LANS did not work so I had not internet connection. I tried uninstalling it from Device Manager and deleting it. After a few clrmos. I thought I would switch over to the other bios and see if the LAN works and it does because of the status lights because now it lights up. So I switch back to main bios and LAN works but it would not post whatsoever and just cycles through post finally ending with a " DE ". Not sure what the new LED DEBUG codes are but if someone could post it would be nice to be able to refer to it.
Anyways on win 8, no matter what it will not let me into windows And when it looks like it will...gives me "your pc ran into problems and we are collecting data and we'll restart after" message. After a few of these wonderful messages, I decided I was going to flash my bios again. It did look like I was sucessful until after restart it did the same thing. Going through post I saw 19,15 then shuts off. Does this and ends with "DE" pc still on but nothing. No windows.
I got lucky a few times and was able to get into my bios and decided I was going back to Win 7 64......I put the good ole XFX6990 back in and got windows 7 to reinstall and continue to flash my bios to an older one. I used your method before and it work> from 3.0 back to 1.5 then from 1.5 back to 1.2 for OC purposes. So i tried that method but it looked like it just reflash it with 3.1, odd.
So after a few restarts everything seems fine, no cycles just normal. When I reboot normal process no double boots or cycles this time so I thought hey, that fixed my corrupted bios somehow. I thought I gotten lucky.... So I switch out the good old 6990 and in with my 780s. Reinstalled win 7 and upon completion of windows update. Again with the cycles of 19,15 turns off does this again over and over like 5 or 6 times and ends with "DE"
And this is where I'm at atm. I remember when I DL'd the flasher and bios. I only saw 2 files which was " VALVE CHECK AND E7670IMS.310".
When I tried to do it again with the same method as the first I have "
    #BIOS
    #BK_6.Z7
    #EFIFLASH
    #MSIHQ(icon)
    #MSIHQ_INFO
    #MT420"
This time it does not go through the same when flashing, just tells me bios update complete. I've done this a million times and all have been successful.
Basically I'm still on 3.1 bios but I 'm curious as what other methods do you suggest I try now? I have left everything alone after reinstalling windows and updates. Everything seems okay, reboots fine no cycles and still get the random hit or miss with 15,19 turns off cycles and ends with "DE". Would like to get a resolution if possible. Thank you and I know I said real quick right, but really. Thanks for any help.
    I'm going nuts!!

  • EQUIUM U400 BIOS Update link broken

    Hi,
I'm trying to download the Bios update for my Equium U400 (dated 4th November) but the link appears to be broken. I have hunted high and low for a way to contact Toshiba about this but can't find anything helpful.
Does anybody have any ideas as to where else I may be able to find a suitable bios upgrade?
    Cheers.

    Hi
I think this could be a temporal server issue and I think this should be fixed in the next time
You should try to download this BIOS later
