Click function on Touchpad failure

My HP Envy Sleekbook has a continual problem where after accidently hitting some unknown combination of keys in the page up, page down, enter, shift area the pointer on the screen moves but I can no longer click on anything on my screen. I can use keyboard shortcuts to do things like save a document or start the task manager, but I cannot use the mouse to toggle between programmes or tabs in my web browser. The only way I have found to reset the system is to go CTRL+ALT+DEL and restart my computer, but this is not always great as I often have multiple documents open at once and cannot always save them before the shutdown. What am I doing that causes this and how can I fix it without shutting down the computer?

Sounds hardware-related. Can you remove the battery on that model? If so, try that and test. If the battery is swollen, the trackpad won't click right.

Problems using right-mouse click functionality in a Captivate added to Articulate?

Has anyone experienced any problems using the right-mouse click functionality? It's working fine when I preview the project, or view the published Captivate SWF or HTML file, but it's not working when I insert the published Flash file into Articulate and then try it in the published Articulate. I'm using AS2 and Flash Player v10. When I try to right-click it's bringing up the Flash Settings menu you can click on. I've been into my Flash Manager and told it to always allow content from the folder my Articulate is in but that hasn't made any difference. I'm viewing the Articulate on my C drive and I have read that that can cause problems - does anyone have any ideas? If I left-click it recognises it as a click but doesn't recognise it as the correct click action, so just keeps on bringing up my failure caption and won't allow me to progress.

The right-click functionality in Captivate is 'in' the JS-file, that is called by the HTML-file that will open the SWF. But if you insert the SWF-file in Presenter (Articulate or Adobe) the right-click functionality will not be there, because you are not using the JS-file. BTW: this was also explained in the thread where you posted this same question before. Please, do not post the same question in 2 different threads

How do I use Right Click Functionality in Captivate 5

Hello there,
I am trialing Adobe Captivate 5, with a view to purchasing it, and I have been loving it, but have hit a snag. My Right Click actions are not working except with the web preview. I noted from the manual a lot of restrictions and from reading here I am not able to change AS3 to AS2. Does this mean Captivate 5 does not let you use Right Click options.
I would greatly appreciate your help because I do love this software but if I can't create elearning with multiple Click Boxes and Right Click functionality, I may have to look elsewhere.

I downloaded and unzipped the file you linked. On my work laptop with XP, IE 8, and Captivate 4, it ran perfectly.
On my personal laptop with Windows 7, IE 8, and Captivate 5, it did not run. (I got the JavaScript line 81 error.)
On my personal laptop, I created my own right click project in Captivate 5, published with accessibility turned off, and it would not run (line 81).
I copied my Captivate 5 published files to my work laptop, and it would not run there either.
I don't have any third party toolbars installed on either machine. I'm running Symantec antivirus on my work laptop (where your project worked but mine didn't) and AVG on my personal laptop (where neither project worked.)
Is there something you did in your JS file? Or some little tweak you made in your Captivate project?

Right click function no longer works

Using OSX 10.9.3 on my iMac. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Fairly new iMac, 21.5 inch, Late 2013. Just now, my right click function on my mouse does not work. I have checked my System Preferences and the right click is checked under secondary click. I did uncheck it, exit System Preferences, and then come in again and re-checked it, but that did no good.
I did restart my computer last night before I quit for the day because recently I uninstalled Sophos Anti-Virus because it seemed to be caught in a loop that was not finished "cleaning up" but that is only change I have made. Aside from the Sophos acting wonky there were no other issues with the machine last night.
The right click does not work in all programs, not just Finder. How can I get my right click function to work again? I use this function quite a lot and would appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!

Press and hold the Control (Ctrl) key while you click the mouse button. This is identical to right-clicking with a mouse. (Ctrl+click = Right click)
You can try the following:
•Click on and off the 'right click' checkbox in the Mouse System Preferences
•Restart in Safe Mode
•Reset NVRAM / PRAM

In Yosemite, Magic Mouse double-click function doesn't work

On my iMac running Yosemite 10.10.2, the double-click function on the Magic Mouse no longer works. So to open a folder, or anything for that matter, I must always do click-control ---and that doesn't work for everything. For example, I can't double click on a character in Glyphs, so this renders Glyphs useless. And so on... I have gone into preferences to see if anything was amiss in the settings, but everything checked out fine. Is there a fix for this, or do I have to wait for the next upgrade for Yosemite? Help! How do I copy and paste an image form the internet to Keynote. I have done this successfully in the past by selecting copy and then paste by using the right click function and now am unable to do so. I am thinking it is an outdate OS problem...not sure.

If all else fails, you can make a screen shot of the image:
With the image visible in your browser, press CMD-Shift-4 and your cursor will change to crosshairs.
Position the cross hairs at one of the corners of what you want to copy and drag to the opposite corner, then release the mouse. An copy of the image will be saved to your desktop.
You can now edit and use this image.

Mouse right-click function doesn't work in Bookmarks (Mac)

I recently switched from PCs to Macs. No problem downloading Firefox and transferring old bookmarks and other settings, with one exception. With the PCs, when I right-clicked a particular bookmark under Bookmarks I got a series of 12 options (from Open, Open in New Window to Delete, Sort by Name, Properties). I used these a lot to delete bookmarks, change names, alphabetize lists, etc. I can now do most of these things under the Manage Bookmarks setting, but when I right click bookmarks now the new bookmark I click on just replaces the one on screen (ie, the right click does exactly what the left click does). I am using two different mice (Apple Mighty Mouse with Leopard, Microsoft Wheel Mouse with Tiger) and the right click function behaves as expected in other programs. Are these mouse right click Bookmark functions supposed to appear with the Firefox for Mac? If so, any ideas how to resolve my problem?

Can someone explain to me why it's possible in Chrome on Mac, but not on Firefox? This is my 2nd biggest complaint about FF on the Mac, only surpassed by missing favicons in bookmarks. Chrome does both very well.

How to add a symbol to the stage with a unique click function

I created a symbol in the Library and am loading multiples of it based on json data. However, I want to give each one a unique click function based on the json data. For example if you are the 4th symbol, you should change the color of another symbol when clicked. However, if the 5th symbol is clicked, it should be a different color. And so on.

What I would do:
add a class name for each symbol in your json file or on symbol creation.
Then use each class name and assign it a click event.
to assign a unique id or class to symbol you create use:

// or for a class use el.element.addclass('className'+i);
Note when using the new id make sure you add # in name
example

Clicking Functionality Disappears If You Leave the Page!

Hey All,
I've got a very strange thing happening with the site I'm
working with. The main bulk of the site is made up of a "parent"
.swf that plays different "child" .swf files within it depending on
which part of the flash site the user visits. The site's worked
great and I've had no problems with it...until now.
Recently, the powers that be have asked me to put an "intro"
page before the main flash site to introduce a contest/giveaway
that they want to run. This intro is located on a separate .html
page. From this intro page, the user can either say "no thanks" and
hit a button that takes them to the main website (located, of
course on its own .html page), or they can hit a different button
to register for the contest. All works well from there. However,
here's where the problem comes in...
If you go to the main site, there is a button on the main
page (part of the initial child .swf) that uses the simple getURL()
command to take the user back to the intro. In IE, this works fine.
In Firefox, this works only once....meaning, I click the button and
it takes me back to the intro, but once I go back to the main site
again, clicking any of the buttons in the child .swf does nothing.
You can roll over the buttons and get the sounds/animations to
play...but clicking functionality doesn't work at all. And it's not
just for the button that takes you back to the intro page...it's
for ALL the buttons in the child .swf.
I found that the buttons in the parent .swf (the top
navigation buttons) on the page work just fine and take you to all
the parts of the site as normal.
Reloading the page doesn't correct this problem. The only way
to get the buttons in the child .swf to function properly once more
is to close the browser and re-open the site.
Would anyone happen to know a workaround for this? If you'd

using the Mozilla Firefox browser (again, there are no problems in
IE at all...just this browser). Click the button that takes you to
"the locker room". In the locker room, a scoreboard will drop down
from the celing. It can be clicked and will take you back to the
page you just came from. Click the button that takes you back to
the locker room one more time, and you'll see that none of the
buttons in the locker room work anymore.

"Click" function on my trackpad (MacBook) no longer working?

Hi,
I turned my computer on and I noticed the "click" function on my trackpad is no longer operational. I went to the nearest apple dealer but unfortunately I am traveling in Bangkok, Thailand and the language barrier made it difficult to communicate. Is there any way to fix the click function?
Notes:
The trackpad still has all of its other touch functions.
The clicker seems to still have its normal motion for clicking after comparing to other macs.

Is it possible to use Click Function in Dropdownbox?

is it possible to use the attribute of DropDownBox to realize the 'Click ' function?That means when one value from DropdownBox being selected,some action will be done.

Right click function in Java applet...

Hello, how's it going? I'm currently working on getting a pocket pc to load java applets through a web browser. I am currently using Netfront 3.0 for my browser and it contains JV-Lite 2 as its JVM. The applet loads and is functional. However, I am having issues with 'right clicking' functions. This particular applet is used as an interface for a building automation controller and it is necessary for right clicking to function (there are menus specific to functions that can only be accessed by right clicking). What are my options for fully functional java in a pocket pc web browser? Any help would be appreciated.

My built in clicker for my macbook, the main button below the trackpad, is broken. It will randomly and inconveniently click when I do not want it too. I need a way to simply disable it all together and just use the click function on the trackpad.

System Prefs:Trackpad.
As for the manual clicker below, you might wish to clear
anything that's fallen in by using the edge of a sheet of
paper around the border that you can reach.

Apple mouse right click function stopped working

After 4 and a half years my Apple mouse right click function on my iMac stopped working. However the mouse works perfectly on my other iMac. The apple store said the problem is in the iMac. Any ideas how to fix this?

First log into another user account on your Mac and see if it work correctly there. If not boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try there. Also try another USB port on the Mac if it's a wired mouse.
