  • Plugin install problem - Sorry, an error has occured

    Hi,
    We are having problem's with our QuickTime plugin code. We are using the object and embeded tag and are using the following url http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab for the codebase attribute. We are redirected to this url, http://wsidecar.apple.com/cgi-bin/qtc/nph-QuickTime.hqx and the only thing that happens here is that we get a the following error:

    Anybody else experiencing this problem recently?

    If you are trying to install Itunes for Windows and it dies with the -3 error when trying to install QuickTime, here is your fix. You will have to edit the registry so follow this carefully and back up the registry before changing it, just in case.
    1. Do a Start,Run, and type in regedit then OK.
    (This opens the registry file.
    2. Navigate to HKeyClassesRoot\Installer\Products
    3. Right click on Products and use the "find" command in regedit and search for QuickTime.
    4. Delete the part of the Products Tree Key that you find.
    Mine was located here:
    HKEYCLASSESROOT\Installer\Products\6E804929562D471408F5181D9D412E4A
    5. You will now be able to install QuickTime and Itunes without getting the -3 error.
    Use caution when editing the registry which should not be attempted unless you are beyond a neophyte computer user.
    I tried everything under the sun, when I had this same problem until I hit upon this fix.

    I transfered my iWork '09 to my new Mac Air. Now my Keynote won't open. I get message, "An unexpected error has occurred, please quit and reopen Keynote." This doesn't work.

    so Keynote still isnt working after installing, I thought you had it sorted from your last post.
    If you have not done so remove any files relating to iWork and Keynote and reinstall iWork
    files that must go are:
    the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications;
    the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support
    the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library >
    There are a number of free application removal tools  that will do this for you:

  • Use adt to package an air installer success, but install this air file "sorry , an error has occured

    hi everyone, i am using a bat file to package an air file ,
    this application runs on windows 7 32 bit,
    it need to call another windows application , so i google and then find i need to add -target native when package , so i added.
    the bat file is like below:
    ========================================
    @echo off
    :: AIR application packaging
    :: More information:
    :: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=CommandLineTools_5.html#1035959
    :: Path to Flex SDK binaries
    set PATH=%PATH%;C:\AdobeAIRSDK\bin
    :: Signature (see 'CreateCertificate.bat')
    set CERTIFICATE=yeahCert.pfx
    set SIGNING_OPTIONS=-storetype pkcs12 -keystore %CERTIFICATE% -tsa none
    if not exist %CERTIFICATE% goto certificate
    :: Output
    if not exist air md air
    set AIR_FILE=air/jonnson.air
    :: Input
    set APP_XML=application.xml
    set FILE_OR_DIR=-C bin .
    echo Signing AIR setup using certificate %CERTIFICATE%.
    call adt -package      %SIGNING_OPTIONS%  -target native  %AIR_FILE% %APP_XML% %FILE_OR_DIR%
    if errorlevel 1 goto failed
    echo.
    echo AIR setup created: %AIR_FILE%
    echo.
    goto end
    :certificate
    echo Certificate not found: %CERTIFICATE%
    echo.
    echo Troubleshotting:
    echo A certificate is required, generate one using 'CreateCertificate.bat'
    echo.
    goto end
    :failed
    echo AIR setup creation FAILED.
    echo.
    echo Troubleshotting:
    echo did you configure the Flex SDK path in this Batch file?
    echo.
    :end
    pause
    ======================================================
    after run this bat , the air file is successfully built , but when i want to install this air , it says "sorry ,an error has occured .....  bla bla installer file is damaged....bla bla "
    but when i remove the red part -target native  in the command above then run it again , the new packaged air file can install successfully, but the application can not call other windows apllication anymore, nativeprocess.issupported always returns false when running
    so seems like the problem is all about -target native , deos anyone know whats wrong ?
    this problem really bothers me long time , any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance!

    Nice! I swear I tried that URL (substituting "mac" for "win" and "MAC" for "WIN" in the one relaxatraja posted), but I guess I missed something.
    Ironically, it doesn't include a binary either, but a simple alias works:
    alias pfi='java -jar /path/to/PFI/lib/pfi.jar'
    And it did indeed produce an ipa without error. I don't have my hardware with me, but I'll be able to test it tonight. Meanwhile, I think I'm in business. Thank you all!

  • "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged

    Hello-
    I have an air application that is distributed via CDROM, the app is signed by a code signing certificate and timestamped. In mid-August when my certicate expired my users started calling stating that they couldn't install our product due to the following error: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author." From my understanding a timestamped application is taken at a point in time when it's generated so why would it matter if the certificate was still valid? I have since replaced the certificate and will need to redistribute to my (thousands of) users however when I test it out using a future date and time the same error occurs. Any information to help resolve this would be grately appreciated.

    my command:
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>adl
    application.xml
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>adt
    -certificate -cn HelloW
    orld 1024-RSA certHelloWorld.pfx password
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>adt
    -package -storetype pkc
    s12 -keystore certHelloWorld.pfx HelloWorld.air
    application.xml HelloWorld.html
    password: password
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>
    And here is another link to download my code

    2007. Kindly help me resove this issue

    @Manikandan,
    Can you check the ULS logs to find what is the error. The default location of log files will be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS for MOSS 2007.
    If is allowed for you to change the callstack and customerrors mode setting in the web.config then change those values to see the error.
    Find: <SafeMode CallStack="false" />
    Replace with: <SafeMode CallStack="true" />
    Find: <customErrors mode="On" />
    Replace with: <customErrors mode="Off" />

    help

    Unfortunately I am running in circles as the result is the same.
    Thank you for the link but I have already had this page provided to me by my school. Nevertheless, I followed your advise, downloaded the latest version once again and restarted my computer. Again, I am not able to get my computer authorised, with or without an ID. I get either of the two messages : 1) Microsoft tells me there is a problem with my computer. 2) Adobe tells me I have no internet access and in order to proceed I should gain internet access.
    That is the reason why I have today purchased an AVG software. I have additionally purchased the service of having the AVG software installed on my computer by an AVG representative remotely by allowing him temporary access to my laptop. Subsequently he installed the software successfully, run all necessary checks, optimised my computer and there are currently no problems with it whatsoever.
    I have then asked him for this additional favour to watch me trying to download the e-book using your software, just in case I am doing something incorrectly. He agreed and upon my attempting to download the e-book again, the same problems occurred. He followed the steps himself - again no joy. He then advised me to ask Adobe for help. In his opinion the program Adobe stops responding and there is nothing more he could do to help me. I had his reassurances that my computer is in full working order and the problem does not lie here.
    I am back to you asking you for help. I am attaching here photos of the two messages that keeping popping up whenever I try to download the e-book.
    Is there anything at all you can do to help me? I quite need this e-book for my exam which is fast approaching. I would be really grateful if you could sort something out...
    Thank you in advance. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • App Store gives "An unknown error has occurred" when I try to log in

    I know I'm using the correct username and password -- using a different one gives a password-specific error, and the username/password works correctly elsehwere.
    I have applied all updates, and rebooted.
    I just had my SSD replaced (got the machine back today), and the apple store put snow leopard instead of lion on it -- my lion upgrade was purchased in the app store previously. So, I currently have mountain lion on this machine.
    Thanks!

    urgh... just noticed my previous post said i have mountain lion... i meant that i have snow leopard.  no idea why i messed that up!
    anyway, i just tried reinstalling snow leopard from the usb key that came with the computer. Then, I installed software updates until it told me there were no more updates. After that, I tried the app store again, and it still is giving me the unknown error. really irked by that. may have to take it back to the apple store yet again, to see if i can figure out why the app store won't work.

  • Sorry , aserious error has occurred.....  I get this message on opening premier elements 9

    Trial version of premier elements 9
    came with photoshop elements 9 on disk. when i open it I get the window to open a project or start a new project. either way I get the message "sory....." click OK but nothing happens, it does not close down. I have been on to Adobe supprt to be told 2its a technical problem" when the chat page is then withdrawn.
    Has Adobe solved this problem yet?? I see its been around since 2002!!!

    If you got a copy of Premiere Elements 9 in 2002, you're way ahead of the curve, moss.
    Otherwise, you haven't given us nearly enough information to be able to help you.
    Please tell us what operating system you're using, how fast your processor is, how much RAM you have and how much free, freshly defragmented space is on your C drive.
    Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime and the latest firmware for your video card from the nVidia or ATI web site? Have you manually gone to Windows Update and ensured you have even the non-critical updates?
    Another other informaton you can provide can help.
    I've run every version of this program on XP as well as the latest version on Windows 7 and Mac OSX Snow Leopard. So if you've been having problems since version 1, the problem is most likely on your system or is related to the type of video you're using as source files But we can't help you locate this problem without details and a lot of troubleshooting on your part.
    In fact, it may be better for you to contact Adobe Tech Support directly. If youv'e really been having trouble running this program for 9 years, your problems may be way too deep to troubleshoot on this forum!

  • Import movie from iPhone gives "An unknown error has occurred while reading the video file. Connecting to Dynamic Link server failed. (1)

    Tried previous suggestions about purging the Camera Raw Cache and I raised it to 20.0 GB.
    Still lightroom fails to read most of the videos that I create on my iPhone 6 plus.
    Aperture, iMovie, and Image Capture have no problem with these files.
    Respectfully,
    Kay Fisher

    This is an iPhoto problem. It is, IMHO, one of the worst photo/video programs ever thought up by any company.
    I suggest you find your original video files, which won't contain any edits and or adjustment you have made in iPhoto, and copy them to some other folder on your drive that you create and then import them to LR.
    Usually iPhoto stores all original image and video files in a folder called Masters buried deep inside the iPhoto Photolibrary package folder. Which makes almost impossible for any normal computer user to get to.
    Next time you are in the market for a new computer think long and hard before you drink the Apple Mac Cool-aid.
