Click on calendar control in parameter prompt of viewer gets Jscript error

Within SAP supplied CrystalViewer.  VS2008 web app, XIR2 Crystal Server, 11.5.3700 or 11.5.3300 libraries.  Although not a forum favored combination of tools, everything seems to work except calendar control within parameter prompts.
IUSER_(machine name) or everyone has read and execute access for directory and subdirectories via IIS and Windows file system (suggestion from a more general problem post).
I am able to fill in the date parameter text box and all works well.  Calendar icon properly displays to right of text box but it is followed on subsequent lines by :
Business Objects X
i
i
within the individual parameter box.
Click on calendar icon to allow pick of date from calendar causes Jscript error.

Hi Jonathon,
Thank you for your quick response.  Response to you questions follows.
Q:Does it work anywhere?
A:It doesn't work on any date parameter when executed in VS project.  (It does work with Crystal Developer XIR2 client.)  I am only using the viewer - not designing report within project.  Given that, can you suggest a test for calendar control outside of parameters to answer this question?  Sorry for my ignorance.
Q:It is likely the combination of CR 2008 / XI R2 is not playing well, as you've indicated - they are not meant to. It could be missing runtime files causing issues. Is the CR 2008 runtime installed on the server as well, or only the XI R2 runtime?
A: We have VS2008 but not CR2008 which is what I think you meant.  With VS2008 installed on development workstation accessing remote XIR2 server objects, a web app running on workstation has problem with calendar.  I am out of my league, but I am thinking the execution of a calendar control for a parameter would not need to call any Crystal libary which might mess things up, but the call is coming from an 11.5.3700 viewer which may be making the wrong call for a VS2008 base library that handles calendar control.  But, I am hoping instead that the problem is that it cannot find something it needs or that it does not have proper access to that something (which has been the cause of all the other problems I have solved).

  • Using 'Calendar' control type in prompt - not available

    Hi All,
I am trying to setup a simple from and to date prompt that can be used in my reports to set the to and from date range for filtering the fact data that is returned. Following a number of blogs and articles on this it seems pretty straightforward. I have setup two static presentation variables on the rpd (startdate and enddate respectively) and I have started to create the prompt in answers that will be used by a number of different reports.
My issue is that, all the articles I have seen indicate the use of the 'Calendar' control type when setting up the prompt. I however only have the following control type options for the prompt *(Edit Box, Drop Down List, Multi-Select)*. I do not see Calendar. Does this need to be initialized in any way to make it available .. ie move the calendar.js file somewhere so I can use the calendar control?
    example instructions: http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2009/03/obiee-between-dates-prompt.html
    Thanks,
    K

Figured it out. The fields I was using in the prompts were character fields representing dates 'YYYY-MM-DD'. In order for the Calendar control option to become visible the fields selected as part of the prompts need to be of date or timestamp data type.
    Thanks,
    K

  • When I click on Compose in my gmail acct. I get the error #000. Then nothing works. Gmail info sent me to you.

When I am in my gmail acct. and click on "Compose" the box comes up and I can type in it, but an error message #000 appears at the top. It says it will retry in "so many minutes" and never does. It just adds time. The retry button only adds to the time in the "so many minutes." You can type in the compose box but it will never send and then nothing else will work. I click on the inbox and it will not response and the same with the other buttons.
My husband has an account, too and it doesn't do this. I can click compose, type, and send in his gmail acct.

A box with this error: "there was a problem sending the command to the program" always pops up upon clicking any URL sitting in my desktop (or from any other folder). It will not happen if Firefox is already open. However, it is only an annoyance as the page fully opens with no problem.
It started after I downloaded Firefox 4 beta ver 12. It continued after upgraded with RC1. It did not happen in my latest version of Firefox 3.6.x which I removed after installing 4 RC1

  • Click Wheel B&W / Updated to iTunes 7, PC - Getting an Error

So I just updated to a newer version of iTunes 7, I had 7 before now it's just the latest one. I was having issues trying to scroll in the menus with my iPod so I did a restore, and now it won't sync my songs. It first came up with error 1418 and now it comes up with error -124. I've tried everything the support pages say. Nothing has helped. I can't get my songs on it, and it has issues scrolling. Any ideas? Thanks.
    PC   Windows XP

I posted this in another thread, but read the bottom paragraph.....Even though Norton says allow for iTunes, my was still blocked as well. It's running fine now though since I've cleared out the programs list and rules tab and started over. Norton sets a no TCP rule I couldn't figure out so I cleared them all out.
I disabled only the personal firewall in Norton Internet Security and it connected straight away. When I found out this worked, I tried just allowing the four apple programs the personal firewall monitors and no joy. I will find which program is being blocked, but disabling the entire personal fire wall will work.
BTW, in my case I was getting the connection timed out but the iTunes diagnostics said the connection was fine but never connected to the store successfully
Some how Norton Internet Security set itself to block outbound TCP connections during the upgrade, even though iTunes was still set to allow all connections in and out. I couldn't figure out which rule to change. To get the firewall running again, I had to use the reset botton (in Norton Internet Security) to clear out all the rules and programs and then manually add iTunes with allow all privileges to the program list. CAUTION: until Norton repopulates privileges for other programs, you may need to add them manually.....this includes Internet Explorer or any other browser you may use.

  • Prompt Calendar Control - Date Format

    Hi,
I have a Calendar Control in my Prompt, that I initialize to a default value as:
    SELECT MIN("- Dim_Date".DATE_VALUE) FROM PRS
When a user first goes to the dashboard page, the default value is in the format '2000-01-01'
However, when the user selects a different date, it goes to the format '01/01/2000'
How can I make the format consistent?

Resolved by changing Default value SQL to:
    SELECT EVALUATE('REPLACE(TRIM(leading 0 from TO_CHAR(%1,%2)),%3,%4) ' as varchar(20),MIN("- Dim_Date".DATE_VALUE),'MM/DD/YYYY','/0','/') FROM PRS
This displays the default date in format 1/1/2009, the same format shown when choosing a different date from the calendar control.

  • On click event of Calendar control navigate to Next page

    Hi All,
We have one requirement, we have one calendar control,in that calendar control on top of month,if we click it will navigate to another control and display entire month data.
If i click on May 2015 ,it will provide hyperlink and open in new page.
i tried in Day render event for calendar...But i did not get any solution..
    can any one suggest me...
    Thanks...

    Hi Reddy,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to provide a hyperlink for the title of calendar.
You could accomplish your requirement with jQuery, please refer to this code below:
    <script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function () {
// please refer to this screenshot below to get your selector, and replace the google with your hyperlink
    $("table[id$='Calendar1']>tbody>tr>td>table>tbody>tr>td[align='center']")[0].innerHTML = "<a href='http://www.google.com'>" + $("table[id$='Calendar1']>tbody>tr>td>table>tbody>tr>td[align='center']")[0].innerHTML + "</a>"
    </script>
Please refer to the screenshot below to get your selector:

  • Problem with calendar control in report preview

I am using Crystal Reports XI.
When I preview reports containing a date/time parameter the calendar control does not work. Clicking on it brings up a JavaScript error box indicating that the page has an error and whether I want to continue running scripts on the page.
This started happening after I installed the stand alone CR viewer.
Uninstalling the viewer did not help.
    Please help!

  • Calendar Control for entering parameters

I would like to use Xcelsius calendar components in my crystal reports 2008 report instead of the parameter window that normally is used.  Is there any way to do this?  I appreciate the help

    Hi Thought2,
Sorry, as far as I know currently there is no in-build calendar control, but there are quite lot of third party calendar control developed by communities also companies, try to search with key words: "windows store app calendar control", you would
    be able to find some.
    Hope this helps.

  • Restrict Calendar Control Date

    Hi:
I want restrict Calendar Control date.
For Example: I have 2 Calendar control parameter(Startdate,Enddate). If i select Startdate(2014-04-24)Parameter, Todate Parameter user will not select less than Startdate value (Past date are Hide/Invisible/Not selectable) and Limit the
date. How to restrict Enddate parametre value in SSRS 2008 R2.
    Thanks in Advance
    Paramesh G

    Hi,
Currently, this cannot be achieved in Reporting Services. If I specific dates in the available values, the calendar control will change to a drop-down box control. You can only specify the default value for this parameter.
Here is my workaround for this:
    1. Add a text box and type “The start day cannot be greater than the end day!” in the value.
    2. On the Visibility page, choose the option of Show or hide based on an expression. Click expression button and type:
     =IIF(Parameters!EndDate.Value<Parameters!StartDate.Value,FALSE,TRUE)
    3. And define the visibility of your report as well, using the following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!StartDate.Value>Parameters!EndDate.Value,TRUE,FALSE)
    Thanks.

  • Sub report parameter prompt appears when running Visual Studio 2008 with Crystal Reports 2008

    Post Author: relliott
    CA Forum: .NET
If I build a simple Crystal Report that contains another simple Crystal Sub Report, the report will print preview fine in Crystal 2008.  The problem happens when add this report to a Visual Studio 2008 Web Application Project and I build and debug the application, the Crystal Viewer is prompting the user for the parameter used to link the sub report to the main report.  This should never happen as the user is not supposed to see this parameter.  If I type in some value for this sub-report parameter prompt, the Crystal Report Viewer gives an error message about not finding the field.
I was having the same problem in Vs2005 with Crystal 10 which is why I upgraded.  Business Object's official fix for this problem was published under their KB article number c2018840 and c2019047.  These hot fixes ended up causing general exception errors in Visual Studio so I scrapped these solutions.
Support had me install SP0 for Crystal 2008 (which did not fix it).
    Any ideas?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Bontrager,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
According to your description, I agree with pvdg42's suggestion, so I suggest you can try pvdg42's suggestion to install the version of
Crystal Reports 10.5 to check this issue again.
    Reference:
    http://forums.asp.net/t/1236730.aspx?Which+CR+version+is+in+Visual+Studio+2008+
In addition, since this forum is
to discuss: Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor. So if you have any issue about the
Crystal Reports, I suggest you can ask the issue to the
    SAP Crystal Reports website:
    http://scn.sap.com/community/crystal-reports/content?filterID=contentstatus%5bpublished%5d~objecttype~objecttype%255bthread
as pvdg42 pervious suggestion, it will be better support.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • SQL SSRS 2008 DateTime Calendar Control and Oracle 10g Data Source

Hello. I am creating reports in SSRS 2008 using the calendar control for a date range. Let's say we select a start date of 3/3/2012. This parameter is sent into my SQL statement in the WHERE clause which is executed against an Oracle 10g database. All syntax has to be in SQL that Oracle understands, so no CONVERT or CAST.
The format of the date is throwing an error "ORA-01843: not a valid month" when I try to use the following:
    SELECT *
    FROM TABLE
    WHERE STARTDATE >= TO_DATE('3/03/2012', 'MM/DD/YYYY')
I get ORA-01722: invalid number when I try the following:
    SELECT *
    FROM TABLE
    WHERE STARTDATE >= >= TO_CHAR('3/03/2012', 'MM/DD/YYYY')
I cannot find a way to format the date parameter in SQL Server SSRS before it gets to the SQL to be executed in Oracle.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Sunny

You are right, it sure doesn't prove anything other than how the date looks right out of the Oracle database, but hopefully, it will give a clue as to how I need my SSRS date parameter to work.

It works. The problem is getting the parameter '3/3/2012' into a usable format for Oracle.
Let's assume an application is sending in '3/3/2012' which will be used in an Oracle query (no PL/SQL allowed, nor can I create functions, stored procedures, etc - only straight up SQL). How can I prepare the parameter to successfully do the compare on the Oracle Date field?
