Click to Call & MS Outlook Contacts

I've searched the forums and while there are many discussions concerning using Click to Call with MS Outlook contacts, none of them have completely helped with my problem. I am an end-user and not involved with deployment of our VOIP system. The UCM version is 7.1.3.31900-1 and the Click to Call version is 7.0.12.0.
I understand how to access the "Persona" menu by right-clicking a name in an email and using "Additional Actions." I've noticed that telephone numbers do not populate unless the person is part of the Global Address List (GAL) in Outlook. For individuals outside the GAL, no telephone numbers are available even though I have a contact. I have verified that numbers only come from the GAL because I have additional phone numbers in the individual's contact that are not available. Is there later versions of UCM and C2C that address this issue? Is is merely a configuration issue?
When I am trying to "Call" from an outlook contact, I noticed under Dialing Options that the "Connect using line" drop-down box only has IPCONF LINE and H323 Line. I assume these are MS entries. Should I expect something from Cisco UCM or C2C to be available?
I am the first end-user to request C2C, and while it is nice to be able to dial from IE, most calls orginate from contacts. Thanks.

I have the Same Issue with Cisco Click to Call v8.0.2540.0 in conjunction with CUCM 8.6.2.21900-5
We're using Windows 7 Professional x64 and Office 2010 32-bit. Error message is the same as aherrera posted.
It seems that Outlook crashes when brought to high CPU-load (or waiting for connection to Exchange), but this usually happens on a random base, more often by Outlook 'Power-users' which are receiving a lot of e-Mails.
At the moment I have three installations with a high amout of Outlook crashes (at leayst once per day), and one (my own installation), which crashes occasionally (maybe once a week).
I'm not sure this has something to do with CUCM. It looks more like an Outlook - Click to Call issue to me.
Thanks and kind regards,
Klaus

  • Lync 2013 click to call from Outlook 2013 does not have the option for Lync call

    Hello,
We are currently migrating from OCS 2007 r2 to Lync 2013. We are on office 365, but Lync is on premise. After migrating several users the option in Outlook to click to call someone only shows one option, which is to call the person's desk phone. Before there
was a dropdown where you could choose desk phone, mobile or Lync call. This issue isn't happening to everyone. We are using Office 2013 and Office 2010. Please let me know if you have suggestions or if you need more info.
Not sure if this is related, but some people have lost the option to view their contact's pictures.
    Thank you in advance,
    Mitch

    Hi,
Please see the image below, are we talking about this?
If a contact doesn't have a phone number, we surely can't call him.
You can try updating the Offline Address Book to see the result:

  • Click to Call on Outlook 2007 - CM Application Dialling Rules

    Hello,
I would like to ask your help for a problem I am facing with outlook 2007 and Click-To-Call.
I created Application Dialling rules on Call Manager to support calls from Click-To-Call. ex: Add prefix 9 for outside calls,
discard digits for corporate numbers, etc.
All these Application Dialling rules working fine with Internet Explorer, Firefox, MS Excel, MS Word but not with Outlook. It seams that the prefix 9 for outside calls is not applied. If I use Call With Edit and add the 9 everything work.
Is there something that i have to do to correct this issue?
    Regards,

Hi and thanks for your reply.
This confguration working well with click to dial on Outlook (using Cisco TSP driver).
I am referring to Cisco Click-To-Call Widget (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9829/index.html) which uses the web dialer from Call Manager.
In order to use it from Oulook you have to right click on a contact and select "Additional Actions" then Call or Call with Edit.
Did you try it with Outlook?

  • How to Sync pictures from AD for users in Outlook Contacts?

Hi we recently enabled adding profile pictures to AD from sharepoint.   This works fine, the attribute shows in AD and the pictures show in Lync.   Now in Outlook there are soem inconsistencies.   I am are running
Outlook 2010 windows 7 64 bit.    The user pictures from the Global Address List show up fine in the people pane, however for users that I have a local outlook Contact created for the pictures do not show in the "people pane",
or the outlook "contact".  however the picture DOES show up in the outlook "Contact card".  If I click update on the outlook contact I get a message "no changes were found for this contact".
If I delete the local contact and re-add them the picture is there.  I don't think the solution is to delete and re-add contacts, as the reason to have the local contact is generally because we have added info that is not in GAL.
Any way to force the sync of the picture from AD for local contacts?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

  • Click to call plugin from outlook 2010 not dialing contacts which are not pulled from AD

    Hi Experts,
we have this issue with click to call plugging from outlook 2010.
when there is a mail from a non corporate user ( a person who is not in AD) in the inbox, and we try to make a call to that person, click to call plugging does not allow to make a call from the outlook. Even though this contact is present in the outlook contacts.
But for corporate users ( who are in AD) there are no issues.
Is this a limitation of click to call or a configuration error ?

    Hi Shangxin,
If you go throught my question again, I mentioned the contact detail for this person is present in the Outlook contacts.
That is I have saves this person's phone number in my outlook contacts.

  • Click to Call Widget 8.0 Outlook Phone Numbers

    Hi,
I have a customer who is using the Click to Call 8.0 Widget.
They have contacts with the following numbers specified:
    Business
    Business 2
    Mobile
    Home
The Business, Mobile and Home numbers show up when I click the "Click to Call" toolbar button but the Business 2 number does not.
Is this a known limitation of the Click to Call widget? - if yes are there any workarounds?
On a related topic the C2C plugin seems to cause Outlook to crash on a few PC's. I am using the latest version available from the Cisco download site (8.0.2540.0).
This was released in July 2010. Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting Outlook crashes? - there seem to be some Engineering Special versions mentioned on here - would it be worth asking TAC about these?

    Hi James,
With regard to the Outlook Crash issue, you may be hitting the bug CSCtl57395 which is superceded by
    CSCtj90662.
.This bug is superceded  Though it is in "release pending" state, I could see a couple of customers being able to solve this issue with the latest ES published by TAC.
I would suggest you to open up a case with Cisco TAC and let them verify if you are hitting this bug.

  • Jabber for Windows Call Voicemail Option Pulls Outlook Contact with Matching digits of VM Pilot

Running J4W 9.2.2 and when we use the "Call Voicemail" option (we use a 4-digit pilot number), if the end user has an outlook contact that the last 4 of the phone number matches it pulls the outlook contacts name up and displays it in the connected call.  Anyone else seen this behaviour and f so is this a known issue and is there a workaround for this?

    I Ethan,
I have this problem too. There was a Bug (CSCud57201) identified for release 9.1 with this problem. The bug notes say it should be solved on 9.2 but I'm running the same version as you and having exactly the same last digits match problem

In attempting to sync my Outlook Contacts to my new iphone 5,in iTunes,  Outlook shows in the drop-down box, but it does not allow click-on.  Individual items are not listed to click on. The only listing is my email address and when you sync it, it really does not sync, it adds another email account with the same name, and no contacts sync with it.

also - when I use camera wizard it just tells me the phone is busy or in use  and I should retry.
If I use it through windoes explorer - it shows me the camera to computer symbols and a line moving between then but bombs out saying camera is busy.

  • Contacts Capable of "click to call" in phone browser?

    Hello,
I hope someone can answer this question for me. When GW Webaccss contacts are opened in a browser on a phone, android or iphone, is the phone number associated with an individual contact "click to call"? Meaning does it appear as a link that accesses the cell phone's native dialer when tapped?

  • CUCIMOC - Display Outlook contact information by incoming calls

Hi, is it possible to display some outlook contact information in CUCIMOC by incoming calls? Szenario: The customer's contact information are already added to the outlook contacts. By receiving a call from an external customer only the phone number is displayed, it would be helpful also to display p.e. the customer's name, photo, etc. Is it possible to check the incoming calls with the outlook contacts? Thanks for help.
    Alex

    Thanks for quick response.
What about configuring the information are displayed by incoming calls. The username and photo-uri are shown - is it possible to display some more / specific information from AD, p.e. units?
    Thanks. Alex

  • Outlook contact sync changes email properties!!! How to stop that?

    Hi,
when you modify or add a new contact on the iPhone, once you synch it with Outlook (2007 in my case), all iPhone contact emails properties are changed in outlook.
I have set Outlook to default to send email in HTML, not in RTF:
    Tools->Options->Mail Format->Internet Format-> Convert to HTML Format
This means it won't send RTF mails at all, first converting them to HTML messages.
Outlook "offers" a way to override this setting directly in the contact form.
If you open a contact in Outlook "Contacts" view, then double-click its email address. You get a dialog box called "E-mail Properties".
By default, it will use "Let Outlook decide the best sending format" as the "internet format" mode. This comes from the default we have set above.
Problem is that each contact modified in the iPhone resets this "Internet format" for that particular contact to "Send using Outlook Rich Text Format".
This is ways stupid since when you send a formatted email to someone who doesn't have Outlook, then (s)he gets a plain text email and an attached "winmail.dat" file that is binary and containing the formatting and attachments, built-in pictures, etc...
This file is recognized only by Outlook and can't be read if you don't have outlook or a utility to decode those files.
Can Apple fix this and keep the "Internet format" settings as it is in Outlook?
And if you create a new contact on the iPhone, then, when synching, use Outlook's default Internet format?
Is there a workaround to this annoying problem?
I know that Outlook is tricky, not the iPhone or iTunes, but we have to live with it.
    Thanks for any help
    Steve

  • Click-to-call error

    Hello guys,
Has anyone ever come across this situation before. There is a working Cisco Click-to-call deployment but when a user tries to make a call from outlook  (outlook contacts do not have a 9 prefix  before the contacts)  it fails because it does not have a 9 as a prefix in order to make an outbound call.   The click-to-call application setting has a 9 configured as it’s prefix yet the calls still fails because it tries to call out without  the 9 prefix.
Guys, does anyone have a work-around?
    cheers

You could try an Application Dial Rule
On UCM Call Routing/Dial Rules/Application Dial Rules
I don't know your number format but something like this:
    Number of Digits: 10
Total digits to be removed: 0
    Prefix with Pattern: 9

  • Click-to-call which launches sms directly

    Hello there,
I am a product developer and would like to know if the following is possible for my web application.
We would like to provide the possibility to our web application users to sms another user. I would not want to manage the sms sending in our application. On top of that, the users pay for the sms they send.
My idea is that we display the phone number of other users on our web application. We will tell our users to intall skype, buy skype credits, and enable click-to-call feature. By doing so, they will be able to click on the phone number of other users, which launches skype. I hope I am right up till here.
My question is if it is possible to launch sms sending by default when clicking on the phone number?
    Thanks for any feedback.
