Click to call won't install on windows XP "skypeclicktocall.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

Trying to install Skype click to call and receive the error message, "skypeclicktocall.exe is not a valid Win32 application" XP SP3 32bitSkype V. 7.6.0.105uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. I have a subscription for unlimited outgoing calls and since Skype does not allow importing contact lists from Google, click to call would be very handy.

Windows 8.1 ADK comes with a newer version of USMT (NOT 5.0) and crashes. I learned this today the hard way. I hope Windows 8.0 ADK's loadstate.exe works for restoring to a 8.1 machine.
Yesterday i used Windows Easy Transfer to move from XP to 7, and then re-did the backup in 7 so it would be compatible with 8.1, and it only restores files, not settings.
So i will test USMT 5.0 in this same scenario, because i have 30 machines to change to newer machines with 8.1

  • I am trying to download icloud control panel via icloudsetup.exe to windows Toshiba laptop and get a message" \icloudsetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. Can anyone help? I am new to Apple stuff.

Need help for icloud photo stream, have activated ps on iphone 4 and set up icloud back up for email, contacts, iwork, and find my ihone. Need to find photos that we thought were being saved/shared as well but evidently not. Found on another search that I may need the icloud control panel so tried to download it but when try to install i get, C:\Users\Downloads\icloudsetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I am using a Toshiba laptop with windows 7, which the system requirements are met. I am new to Apple stuff, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

It suggests the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Trouble installing itunes -itunessetup.exe is not a valid win32 application

I have trouble installing itunes. The following message appears: C:\Documents and Setting\Owner\My Documents\ itunsSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I tried the following but I still have problems: remove previous version of itunes, remove quicktime, install again quicktime as a standalone, delete temporary files, restart computer, delete all itunes related files.

    Finally an answer from Apple:
    Dear Stefanie,
I understand that you're receiving an error when trying to open the iTunes
installer that you downloaded. I'd like to try to help you resolve this issue.
It appears that your web browser may be truncating your download of the iTunes
software. I urge you to try using a different web browser to download iTunes. If
this is not possible, you can also try using a different computer to download
iTunes, and then transfer the iTunes installer file (iTunesSetup.exe) to your
original computer and open it from there.
Some transfer options would include using your iPod to transfer the file via
hard disk mode, using a local network, burning a CD, using an external hard disk
or a USB drive, or even sending the file to yourself via email or over an
    instant messaging network.
I hope this information helps to resolve your iTunes installation issue. If it
does not and you still need assistance from Apple, you will need to call Apple
technical support (there may be a fee associated with the call). To find the
    appropriate phone number, please visit:

  • Windows reports that iTunesSetup.exe is not a "valid Win32 application

Every time I try to download iTunes, I receive the following error message: iTunes: Windows reports that iTunesSetup.exe is not a "valid Win32 application."
I have followed the instructions on the support website (uninstalled all versions of iTunes and QuickTime then reinstalled QuickTime without iTunes and then tried to install iTunes again). I continue to get this message and it has not been resolved. Please help!!

It might help to clear out Internet Explorer's temporary files then try downloading the iTunes software again.

To troubleshoot, we tried running the x86 version of scanstate.exe (from USMT from the Windows 8.1 ADK) manually by just double clicking on it on a few Windows XP SP3 systems and we get a similar error as seen below...
So, we thought maybe USMT from our Windows 8.1 ADK install maybe somehow corrupt, but downloading and installing it again results in the same error, so it does not seem to be a file corruption issue.   The x64 version of scanstate.exe works
fine on 64-bit OS's, its just Windows XP SP3 (32-bit) we are seeing this error.
Has anyone successfully using scanstate.exe from USMT 5.0 from the Windows 8.1 ADK successfully to capture user state from a Windows XP SP3 (32-bit) system?
    Regards,
    JJ

  • I keep getting this message when I try to open Firefox."C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe is not a valid Win32 application" What can I do? I have tried uninstalling and re-install. Ths

I am running Windows 7 . It happened without any changes being made. I downloaded the install file several different times and even turned off my Kaspersky A/V when I installed.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different (64-bit) PC. Copy the iTunes64Setup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunes64Setup.exe file.
Does that go through any better for you?

i downloaded skype update and when I click open a window pops saying C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Downloads\SkypeSetup(1).exe is not a win32 application

What's the name of the file you are attempting to open?  Is it "ScreenFlow_4.5.2.dmg"?  If it is the correct name then the message is correct and you are attempting to open a file with DMG files extension and not one with a PDF file extension.  Adobe Reader opens PDF files an not any other file type.

  • TS3212 I just finished downloading iTunes, but when I clicked "Run" Windows indicated that it was not a valid WIN application and I lost the download. What can I do?

I've been having a lot of trouble with iTunes lately. When I would sync my iPod to iTunes, many of the most recent songs I had downloaded would be removed from my playlists and their respective play counts wouldn't be updated. I had thought that updating iTunes would fix my problems, but each time I tried to download the update, nothing would happen. The dialog box that gives you the option to open or run the program would not appear. Finally, after referring to the Apple Support Community, I was able to find a link to download iTunes that allowed me to do so. But when the download was complete and I attempted to run the program, a Windows error occurred that indicated iTunes was not a valid WIN application. It gave me no other option but to click "OK" and when I did, I lost the entire download. I hope that there is a way to fix this problem.
    Thanks for reading.

Let's try the following document with that one:
iTunes: Windows reports that "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

  • "not a valid Win32 application" message when trying to install iTunes 7.0

I have downloaded the new iTunes 7.0 setup file. When I click on the icon on my desktop, I get the message, " C:____\iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application".
This problem doesn't seem to be specifically addressed in the troubleshooting suggestions on this website. Does any one have any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this problem? I've tried uninstalling older versions of iTunes and Quicktime, and re-downloaded new software package, but problem continues.

After using the Windows Installer clean up tool and removing the iTunes 7.0.7.16 install file I was able to update to 7.0.2

    Hi Roy B
The 7.1 just would not install at all, giving the error message above every time. 7.0 was still on my system.
I did a disk clean up (someone said there might be fragments of my attempts to download 7.1 in temp folder that needed to be removed). I then ran a spyware scan and a full Norton system scan (just to be sure that I was 'clean' before attempting again). Then ran the registry mechanic that I just purchased and allowed this to 'fix' anything it found.
Finally I then went back to apple.com and tried another install from scratch - which worked! So...one of the above things worked - can't be certain which, but my guess is that it might have been the reg. mech.
7.1 has been working for a couple of days now... but dreading 7.2 etc...!
Good luck sorting out your probs...
