Click To Play on PCs?

I'm designing a website on my MAC using and I've noticed that
when I visit the site on PCs via Internet Explorer the SWF movie
has to be clicked before it becomes interactive. I use Safari and
that doesn't seem to be necessary but it is with IE. Is there a way
around this? Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Sounds that you are missing the plugin that is used to play those videos embedded in Firefox.<br />
Your system details list doesn't show any media player plugin, so you will either have to check if the plugin(s) are installed, but disabled or install missing plugins.

You may need the new WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll) because Flash always uses a dedicated player to play the videos and would never offer to save videos directly unless an extension is used.

Hello, i purchased the movie Changeling and its shows in Itunes library but will not transfer to my Ipod. It has the Icloud icon showing in the top right hand corner and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time

It has the Icloud icon in the top right hand corner of the cover and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time i wish to play it, the same now happens to all my purcased movies which of course uses additional ISP download allowance. Before the recent update and lay out of Itunes this didn't happen i just purchased a movie and downloaded it then synced it to my ipod and enjoyed it. But now this latest movie purchase will not download to my ipod. I have sent the problem to Itumes and if there is answer i havent received it. Appreciate any advice

You may need to download a lower resolution version of the movie in order for it to sync to your iPod.

If you connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases then it should copy over to your iTunes library. Depending upon what country that you are in you might also be able to redownload it on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

Can't see video on my web page, just click to play button...

I just made my first video tutorial and created a Quicktime video. I also made it web ready, which created a folder with the "how to," a poster image, etc. I read the directions and viewed the code for adding it to my web site, but I am new to HTML, etc. and seem to be doing something wrong. All I get is the "Click to Play Button" when I view my page in the browser.
I want to add a link on my blog that will open the page with the video on it in a browser window so it can be viewed. Like this one:

Here is what I did...
1. I created the video in Snapz Pro. Then I saved it to my desktop.
2. Next, I uploaded the image file, which is a .mov file to my web site. I put mine in a folder called img.
3. Now this is the best part, go to this web site:

4. I selected Web Server and then went to the next screen. On the next screen, add the web server name and the file path. I am a newbie so I made the mistake of adding the entire file path. You only need to add the info. after the web name. Example:
My web server is: http://www.robenmariesmith.com
My file path is: img/tutorials/PSActionsTutorial.mov
Select the pixel image size for your largest image for width and height.
Make the other selections that it requests and click Submit.
5. On the next screen you can actually test your media. If all is working, copy and paste the code into your web site.

Click to play doesn't work with flash

I've "click to play" for plugins enabled (plugins.click_to_play is set to true in about:config) in Firefox (v16.0.1) and it works with all plugins (as far as I can tell) except with flash. Every time I enter a site with flash, like Youtube for example, the "lego" icon doesn't show up and it starts playing the videos automatically.
I've tried enabling and disabling the plugin, and reseted firefox but it didn't worked.
I would appreciate any help on solving this issue.

Click to play is a very experimental feature, and shouldn't be used unless you are a developer working on the feature. You should immediately disable click to play until it is fully developed.

After activating "Click-to-play" plug-ins, I cannot open pdf files.

In the latest release of Firefox, information about how to prevent plug-ins from loading automatically was in the release notes. I activated this in about:config. (Click-to-play).
After that, I cannot open pdf files! When I click on a link all I get is an empty window. Reloading page don't help.
What I can do, is to click on the button next to the awesome bar and set that plug-ins will always load automatically for this page. Then the pdf file loads.
Another work around is to copy the link and paste it in IE.
Is this a bug with "click-to-play"?

The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside in order to purchase iTunes content.

I think it is important to block unsecure addons. But if you do so there should be an open bug assigened. The referenced bug for this add-on is allready resolved so I do not know why this plugin is disabled. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636633
I have the problem that I want to use Secure_Auth that is using the Java Deployment Kit in such a nasty way (via javascript) that firefox doesn't see that the deployment kit should be started. Therefore I will not be asked to allow this plugin always for this web site. Since there is no documentation available how to do this configuration in a config file I am stuck at the moment.
I'm a liitle bit suprised that blocking all versions (even secure versions) is a way to get a good user experience.

That's a bug report in the Blocklisting component, meaning it's a request to add an add-on to the blocklist. The fact that it's marked as fixed means the add-on has been added to the blocklist.

Given that there's no way to disable Click-to-Play for this plug-in (the only options are Ask to Activate or Never Activate), if Firefox doesn't trigger a Click-to-Play prompt, I see no way to use it apart from disabling the entire blocklist. Click to play video - like Youtube

Creating the FLV file and placing a flash video on a webpage
with the video controls, is easy enough but I need to have an intro
screen.
Something like a 'click to play' frame like Youtube does.
I'm not sure if it is a Jpeg, that you click and it loads the
swf or if it is actually in flash.
I assume it would begin buffering before the use actually
clicks play.
Any ideas ? A tutorial would be great. I can't find anything
on the Adobe.com or Google.

Hi I am not sure how much this will help. I have been wanting
a similar thing and have mocked up the following.
On frame 1have a jpeg image of the player and a click to play
and an image you want behind it (i did it in fireworks and brought
it in) and turn the whole image into a button
Action code for frame 1: (actionscript 3)

Then have your player on frame 2 with all the relevant code.
This works for me at the moment with one small hitch (cant
get the video to progressivly download bt think thats a problem
with my player code)

Remove "click to play"

I used the "Export for Web" function in QuickTime Pro to post a movie to a website.
How can I remove the 'click to play' icon? Even if I remove all the text from 'click to play' I still have a gray circle in the middle of the movie.

OK, I just tried with Firefox, and I see the problem. I'm not sure what the "right" way is to fix the problem, but one way to do it is first copy this file

to the same directory as the html file and change the link href in that file from

to
*link href="qtp_library.css"*
(you can actually move it anywhere you like as long as your link href points to it)
Now, edit your local copy and change
*opacity: .8;*
to
*opacity: 0;*
This makes that design element transparent. It's "there" but you can't see it in Safari or Firefox.

Hello everyone and thanks for your help in advance. I am a total newbie to creating Flash movies. I have created video stock that can be played in the flash player, and now want to create an effect similar to the vidoe located at:

Where the video has a click to play button and a thumbnail image rather than a blank player. I also want to use this skin with the same buttons and layout. I have played around in Flash CS4, but can't figure out exactly how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to use something a bit more robust than the built in DW behaviors for that I think.
I know http://www.highslide.com can handle an effect similar to what you seem to be looking for.

Get web player to work when flash is click to play

The latest firefox, and my chrome at work have now made flash "click to play" due to the numerous security issues with flash. However, Spotify web player requires flash to run. When flash is set to "click to play" the web player complains that flash is not installed and shows a dialog requesting you install flash. I found this work around:1. from developer tools, find an object named "player.swf"2. this object has width and height set to 1. Change this to 100 for both.3. you should now see a large flash box in the top left hand corner of the screen.4. you can right click and run flash from this box.5. also, right click the dialog box, and choose inspect element. 6. edit the display: block to display: hidden. This should hide the dialog box that asks you install flash. spotify web player should now run fine. This is a temporary solution though. You have to do it every time you login or refresh the page, which is a huge pain.Flash should not be required for the web player. Google play music does not require it, for example. Spotify, you need to fix this. Flash will increasingly be disabled in browsers or made click to play before being deprecated. PLEASE FIX.

Youtube doesn't require flash player anymore--hasn't for a while now. Try a different browser, for starters.

Click to play a song and album covers start to multiply!

Two new issues with my iTunes. When I click to play a song for some reason the album cover will start to multiply and I will have 3 or 4 duplicate album covers. This ISN'T an organizational issue. I am incredibly meticulate when it comes to organizing my iTunes, so incorrect album info is not the problem. Also recently I tried to play a song and it wouldn't load, even though it is in my library. So I removed the entire album from my library, and then added the whole album folder again, but the only song that will load is the one that wouldn't origionaly play. Now it won't add the album, even if I try to do it song by song. When I click to add, it just doesn't do a thing. The file directory and path is correct, and the files do exist on my computer because I can play them in windows media player.
Any help here would be very apprecieated.

My best guess would be to reset the iPod by holding the home and power button for about 15 seconds or until Apple logo appears. No data will be lost in this reset.
Other than that, I do not know what the cause could be.
