Click_to_play won't disable

Is there any way (either per website or globally) to disable the 'click to play' functionality in flash objects? I have set the plugins.click_to_play setting to false but this doesn't seem to do anything. I have found that certain websites are broken if click to play is enabled (i.e. they work in other browsers that don't have click to play but don't work in FF). Thanks in advance!

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

OneDrive won't disable on Windows 10 using GPO

I can't seem to get OneDrive to disable on Windows 10 using GPO on a Server 2012 R2 DC. I have Enabled the setting Computer --> Policies --> Admin. Templates --> Windows Components --> OneDrive --> Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage.
Doing it locally on that machine works, but it won't pick it up from GPO. I have another GPO in the same OU to disable Windows Store, and that one works as advertised. I don't see any errors in the event log.
I fired up an 8.1 machine and OneDrive is blocked properly there.
I guess I'm curious if it's just me, or if this is a common thing with Windows 10.

Developer toolbar won't disable - keeps popping up when i hit shift, and is not visible in extentions list nor add-on list. how do i uninstall

hello Kuzuri, firefox has an in-built developer toolbar which can be brought up with the keyboard shortcut shift+f2. so this is just a guess, but maybe your keyboard's f2 key is hanging...
in case you cannot solve it that way, please enter '''about:config''' into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''devtools.toolbar.enabled''' - double-click the entry and toggle its value to '''false'''. this will generally disable the developer toolbar after you restart the browser.

Photoshop CS5.5 Brush Transfer / Opacity won't Disable

Now, I assure you, I have tried to disable this feature several times in a row, but as soon as I change the Opacity Jitter to "Off" and start painting, it turns on again. I tried unchecking "Transfer" all together without any luck. Even the brush preview on the pallet show opacity linked to pressure. Attached is a picture of my pallet.
How do I fix this? Can I submit this as a bug?

Make sure you don't have The override for brush opacity enabled in the tool options bar.

Satellite L650 - Touchpad won't disable after BIOS Update

Hello,
I've recently got a new laptop, a L650-1CN,
I run the various kinds of software from Toshiba, and one of them is Tempro,
It shows me messages when a new update is available.
Today I got saw the message that a new BIOS update v.1.80 was available.
I downloaded it, and installed it. After installing my laptop shut down. Then I booted it again.
But after a few minutes I noticed that my touchpad didn't disable itself anymore.
I usually use a logitech wireless mouse.
Now I'm wondering if I should do a system recovery and not install this BIOS update, or find another solution to fix this. Because it's really annoying.

Usually the touchpad disable it automatically if an external mouse is connected but only if you enable this option in touchpad settings.
I also use an external mouse from Logitech and have activated this option. You can find it in control panel > mouse. Go to tab Device Settings and mark the option Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached.

Auto Exposure won't Disable?

Whenever I start a cideo call with a friend, I share the screen, but then the screen darkens. i found this is Auto Exposure, and I disable it in the Options menu. Then, I start another call and turn on video, and IT'S DARK AGAIN. Auto Exposure keeps turning on even though I disabl it and click "apply." Can someone help or is Skype broken?

Ok the problem is I can not have the new version. I work with legacy sites. It is a pain to uninstall 14 and re-install 3. Even with auto update disabled it still updates. I just want it to stop installing 14. I don't know if there is a line I can put in my hosts file or something like that.

Battery Percentage Won't Disable iPhone 6 Plus

So I have an iPhone 6 Plus and I've been trying to turn off the battery percentage and everything I try doesn't work.
I've tried:
1. Disabling battery percentage in the preferences
2. Disabling/Reenabling the battery percentage
3. Restarting the phone with battery percentage disabled
4. Restarting the iphone with battery percentage enabled and then tried disabling it again
5. Closing out all apps and doing a hard reboot with battery percentage disabled
6. Erasing all content and settings and restoring from backup. When I did this the battery percentage went away, and then when I did an iCloud restore, the problem returned.
7. Retried numbers 1-5 one the iCloud backup was restored.
8. Tried resetting the network settings
Any other suggestions? The only thing left I can think of is to reset all settings, but I don't want to have to go through all that if I don't have to.

Probably because you did not put the Bose in pairing (discoverable) mode. Or you have paired it to the maximum number of devices it can support. Check its manual to determine which is the problem (or perhaps it is both).

Pwpolicy won't disable a local user account login!

Hello everyone. I have two macs. One mac is running OS 10.4, the other is 10.5. Neither of these computers are remotely managed nor are they bound to an open directory server. I have one local administrative account on each computer I want to leave on the computer but disable login access. I'm trying to use the command:
pwpolicy -a shortNameOfAdministratorAccount -u shortNameOfAccountToChange -setpolicy "isDisabled=1"
When I enter this in the terminal it asks for my administrative password for the account specified in shortNameOfAdministratorAccount. Once I enter it and press return the command returns no errors, just returns to the prompt. However, I can go back to the login window, click on the account I'm trying to disable, type in the password, and I can log in. I've tried running this command under different accounts, a root shell, etc.... Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

MDT 2012 Update 1 - Deployment - Auto Login won't Disable

Hello,
I am using MDT 2012 Update 1 with an almost vanilla Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 test box. I can deploy both images fine and get a success on my summary but both machines continue to auto login to the Administrator account. To my understanding, the Auto Login
should be shutoff via the LTIcleanup script. When I double check the script for the reg keys that are added/deleted I can confirm that this is happening but the images still continue to auto login to the admin account.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thought I would let those who are interested know. After speaking with Microsoft Premier Support they determined that you must have a password on the Administrator account. If you don't then something goofs up and causes the auto logon issues that I was
having.

Are there any 3.5mm audio extensions that won't disable the microphone feature on my earpods?

I have an iMac with a single 3.5mm audio/mic combo input. I also have the apple earpods so the mic on the earpods will be used instead of the built in mic on the iMac when it is plugged in. However, the cable on my earpods are not enough and i was wondering if there would be a 3.5mm audio extension that does not cancel the mic usability on my earpods!

So just in case anyone else ever runs into this...
I solved the issue and it was that between the plug of the new earbuds being slightly thicker than the Apple earpods, and the width of the case that I was using for my iPod, there wasn't a connection being made to activate the remote function.
I took off the case and now the earbuds work exactly as they should!

740GTM-P25 Onboard Video won't disable......

Hey everyone,
The title pretty much sums it up, but when I plug in a working (confirmed on other PC's) PCI-E graphics card into this motherboard, I am unable to get the motherboard to either switch to the dedicated card from the internal VGA.
For reference, all these components work fine in other PC's....
MSI 740GTM-P25 motherboard (MS-7302 Version 1.3 with latest bios G.70)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 4000+
2X1Gb sticks of corsair ram (XMS 6400)
75Gb IDE System HDD (an old one i know!)
Sony IDE DVD-RW drive
2 X 250 Gb Seagate SATA data drives
PSU details:
Tsunami brand, stable with my other rig....

And the graphics card i am trying to plug in is a MSI 8600 GTS 256Mb card, which works fine in my other rig.
So far i have tried setting in bios "Primary display adapter" to PCI-E and also PCI, but still nothing.
The strangest thing is that windows isn't even picking the card up in the device manager, so im not sure what's going on.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as the built in Radeon 2100 is rather ordinary......

Ok, i will clarify a bit more.
Currently my monitor has two inputs, one D-sub connection to the internal graphics, and one DVI-D to the dedicated graphics card.
So i will see something, whether it is from the internal or the dedicated, just by switching between the inputs from my monitor.
Currently it is working using the internal graphics, even though the dedicated graphics card is plugged in, has power, and the fan on it is running.
I will try changing the settings in the bios again and report back in a min.

Seems as if pitch correction won't disable

I recorded a vocal track and a guitar track both using my apogee MiC and then played with pitch correction to see what it sounded like. Now when I turn pitch correction off, both tracks still seem to have some level of pitch correction to them which is giving a distorted sound to the strums of the guitar. Also, when I try to re-record, both on the vocal track and the guitar track, with pitch correction off there is that slight delay in the track monitor that you get with pitch correction and the distortion of the guitar. Don't know what to do but it didn't make me happy. Hope I can get both tracks back to their original state

Yes, it sounds like a nice solution, but I've tried this more than once, and I can only get iTunes to open once when my computer starts up, and after that, nothing. Then I have to go back through the clean uninstallation again before it will work.
So unfortunately, the problem is not fixed.

without causing any issues to my mbp (early 2011)? I'm not a developer so I'm not sure why I'd need them but if they're vital to running SL 10.6.8 then I won't disable them. Reason I'm asking is that MacScan is picking up multiple issues in my /usr/share/emacs/22.1/etc location. I just learned what an emac was today and I'm not sure why this is on my mbp. All of my sharing is turned off in system preferences but when I click on xgrid a drop down message appears that say "unable to locate xgrid agent. Screen sharing is turned on." The first Apple Care rep didn't seem incompetent but not exactly up to speed on lower level system issues. The second AppleCare rep suggested ESET CyberSecurity for Mac and I purchased it while on the phone with this AppleCare rep. That didn't solve the issue either. I also used ClamXav which is Apple endorsed since it's available and free in the App Store. No dice on the results though. I then also purchased Intego Virus Barrier, also in the App Store but to no avail since, as I later discovered, I don't actually have a virus, since Mac viruses don't exist. I then was instructed by another AppleCare rep to reset the PRAM as well as doing an SMC reset but still the issue remains.
MacScan doesn't detect viruses. Only malware and trojans and it didn't even detect this trojan but alerted me to some odd messages alerts in the Console utility specifically in regards to the usr/share section . That's how I discovered something must be wrong and I contacted Apple once again and they asked me to ship my mbp to them in California and they shipped me a new replacement direct from Shanghai. And once again after 10+ Express Lane cases and one emailed system shot from a data gatherer application sent to me by a Senior Technical Advisor from Worldwide AppleCare and returned to him, I'm still having the same issue and no, I'm not the only one to have experienced this issue so thanks for the congratulations but I'll share the congrats with the other unfortunate users who are experiencing the same frustrating issue but not all carried out in the same manner as mine. I thought instead of trying to only work with AppleCare, who've been stellar btw in terms of customer service, I'd go ahead and give the community a shot at possible solving the problem in hopes of answering my question. Unfortnately the previous hostile responses from the community act as though I'm being sarcastic or something. I assure you I'm not.
No, apparently not all trojans are detected by the built in malware protection in SL. I'm not trying to make this some outdated Mac vs. PC battle, which is juvenile in my opinion and accomplishes nothing. I'm a big fan of all things Apple and always have been.
There are quite a few trojans written everyday and so far I haven't noticed daily security updates from Apple b/c there's no realistic way to keep up with an ultra fast response to new ones until they're actually discovered however, I get the security updates every few weeks or so for SL and I'm grateful for that. Maybe now all active trojans are detected by Lion but I haven't upgraded yet so I wouldn't know but I hope to upgrade soon. Seems like a kewl OS and hopefully impregnable.
No, I didn't read an article an Ars Techinca but I did read an article on the battery firmware password exploit on slashdot which was linked to a threatpost.com article. If I recall correctly it didn't mention much other than the default password issue for the battery firmware but I believe it had to do with some guy trying to kill the battery or blow up the machine which apparenty didn't work. Nothing about the way the exploit can be carried out to alter your OS.

Verizon refuses to disable ASSIA on my dsl line

For the past 8 months I've had problems with the internet speed lowering, so once a month I've had to call Verizon tech to trouble shoot and reset my line. Same thing for months! Anyway, this past week they sent a tech out to check my lines, and as usual, nothing is wrong (they've come out many times). So...they decide to send out yet another Actiontec GT784WNV, my current one is only 3 months old, the previous one was barely a year old! They keep saying it's the modems! And the thing is tech has actually said they see nothing wrong with my modem, then I get transferred to someone else saying it is the modem! It just goes around and around.
I've spent hours upon hours talking with tech and there's never a solution. I came here to the forums looking for anything that might help... I came across a few posts regarding ASSIA, that's the program that Verizon uses to "optimize" the dsl line and it seems that is what might be causing the problem on my line. In the posts about ASSIA people have said to call Verizon and get them to disable ASSIA on the dsl line and to get the speed reset. It looks like the people with my problem that have gotten it disabled has fixed the issue. So, I decide to give it a try, and call Verizon to get it disabled. Nope, they won't do it because it cannot be done. I pointed out that other customers have had it done, still no. Then they gave me another excuse: they WON'T disable it because it's not part of their troubleshooting. They keep escalating the issue (3 times this week alone) but nothing is ever fixed and I never get called back! And when I came across the one thing that might actually fix the problem they refuse to do it!! I even showed the phone tech the pages on the Verizon forum where they are talking about ASSIA and how disabling it has helped (we were on screen sharing) and that was completely ignored. Unbeliveable!
I'm on a dry loop and my line is provisioned for 7 mbs.
So here I am posting this because Verizon phone tech will not help.

Facebook won't load on HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe CTO Desktop PC running Windows 7

I just bought a new HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe CTO Desktop PC running Windows 7. It arrived Tuesday. I set it up, and for some reason it will not run Facebook on either of the browsers I use (Internet Explorer and Chrome).
I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome a couple of times, uninstalled the trial of McAfee and installed the Norton antivirus software I bought. Cannot figure it out. Facebooks works fine on all over devices in my home, so it is not a FB issue. Any ideas?

Thanks, Harry. I may have gotten it fixed... I downloaded and ran AVG (I've used it on other computers with no problem) and it flagged a program called browser something-I-don't-remember-what as suspicious. This program may have come installed on the computer and an icon for it was showing up in the hidden icons. I don't believe Norton or the McAfee trial spotted it.
I uninstalled the suspect program and opened Chrome. A message then popped up, and I believe it was from AVG, telling me that Chrome was configured to use a proxy server but I didn't have one specified. The msg gave detailed instructions to go to the Advanced settings in Chrome and select the LAN box and then uncheck the box telling it to use proxy servers. I hadn't been this deep into the Chrome settings before. In other windows when I was asked if I wanted to use a proxy server I said no. Once I unchcked this box, Facebook booted up on both Chrome and Internet Explorer. Actually, when I was installing Norton, some proxy server settings popped up and Norton advised me to delete them if I had not specified them. Since we don't use proxy servers, I did. But FB didn't work before I installed Norton.
I had not heard of the iPv6 launch. I will check my adapter setting and see what is selected. If everything is still working on that computer today, I won't disable anything. Thanks again for your help!
