Thanks to King cole for all his help with my last problem,
    I now have a new one :S
I did a power drain, and reset the iPod, not the click wheel wont respond to movement, i can get into the menu and play songs, but I cant scroll through them, nor can i scroll down... i've tried to reset, and each time i do, the main menu pops up straight away, and wont let me reset :s
Any ideas? i've searched back to page six on here, and havent found any answers, nor have i found them through the support.

I hope i am :s, its the way i've always reset, i'll try again, but each time, the menu just pops up right away (I have just updated the iPod, could that be a reason? as to why its not working).
Its like opening a flood gate this, one problem, then another...
Nothing, i did what you said, and infact, think i now have dents in my fingers

  • IPod Click Wheel Not Responding to Anything

I have the iPod click wheel 40 GB and it is not responding to anything. When I hit any of the buttons, an apple appears on the screen and then changes to a picture of an iPod with a sad face and an exclamation mark. This website also appears at the bottom. I have tried all of the five Rs and the iPod is not responding to anything. The battery will not even run out. What can I do?

try dropping it or hitting it. worked for me. i was about to buy a new one and i read a forum here that had many people posting that they just gave it a good whack and worked fine again.

  • Ipod nano click wheel not responding

My daughtr's ipod nano click wheel is not responding even after

Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • Ipod 1st generation click wheel not responding - won't reset - apple icon

My ipod won't reset or show up in itunes when connected.  Apple icon seems to be frozen on screen.  How can I reset it?  Help!

This is really the 1st gen iPod from 2001, with a non-touch non-click wheel that physically turns, and connects with a FireWire cable?
Make sure the Hold switch is not in the ON position?
The older iPods did a reset differently from more recent iPod that have a click wheel.  Be sure you are following the appropriate reset steps in this document, based on the actual iPod model.

If it's a 1st gen iPod, it would be How to reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector).  The buttons to press and hold are different from later iPods.

  • My click wheel stop responding

my wheel just does not work anymore, i am trying to figure out if it is the board or not be cause the drive was not working then i replaced it and the drive works now but no wheel

OOPS, it you've replaced the hardisk, then most likely you have to reopen it and put back the click wheel assembly, or buy a new replacement click wheel from ebay.
But better send it to 3rd party service to fix it.
    Have a nice day.

  • My click wheel stops responding

Whenever I try any of the solutions apple has, my click wheel will start working for a little bit and then it will freeze again. Can anyone help me?

Not until you provide all the details of what you have already tried.

  • My click wheel wont work, what should i do?

My click wheel has stopped working. I can switch the hold switch from off to on and the i-pod will react but when i go to use my wheel it doesn't react. I have tried to hold the menu and select button to reset it, but nothing. I have even restored it and yet i still have the same problem. So if you have any idea can you please help me?

How old is your iPod? You might need a replacement if resetting isn't working.

  • IPod 4G click wheel wont sync with itunes with firewire and USB

my iPod 4G click wheel 20GB won't sync with my Macbook Pro OSX Mountain Lion.......
only way work is .. I keep plug in and out the dock connector from the iPod ... after 30 to 50 times... it probably work!
    Anyone has same problem?!

Do you have another cable you can try to rule out the possibility that the cable is damaged or faulty?
You might also want to double check the iPod's dock connector for signs of bent, damaged, or corroded pins or even debris that could blocking a full connection with the cable.

  • Updated & Restored now click wheel wont work

I have an iPod Nano 2nd generation.
It froze on me... so I followed all of the instructions.
Charged it up. Updated software. Restored the Nano.
    Repeated the process.
Now it is stuck on the select language screen - but anytime I click any buttons - nothing happens!
When I restored it... everything appears normal from within iTunes - it tells me it is synching my music, allows me to name the iPod. Click wheel does work when connected to the computer either.
    HELP?
    Thanks
    Dave

The click wheel is broken and needs to be replaced. It will also need a new battery.

  • HELPP!!  click wheel wont work

the click wheel on my ipod nano will not work. i tried restarting, resetting, and restoring. the click wheel will only work when the ipod is plugged into the usb port. how can i fix this? please help.

This is a bit odd, maybe, but I also got an ipod nano 4th gen for xmas. The thing is, my click wheel is working fine. I've been using it quite frequently for the past 4 days. I wonder if this has to do whether your dock is suitable for the 4th gen. I know that many docks are only set for 3rd gen ipods. Check your docks! Also, I think it makes a difference from where you got your ipod. They all should be okay, but I was just wondering. Mine was shipped into where I live (well actually to my Aunt's house. My aunt gave it to me.:) ) It seems to be working fine. Shelf-life could have somehow damaged the ipod. Like in packaging or something? To fix it, you could try going to a Genius Bar. They are found at the actual apple stores. They could fix it or maybe give you a free fix or whatever. (if your lucky!) Hope this maybe helps?!
