Clicking on a link once generates an infinite stream of tabs that I can't stop without closing Firefox

If I click on a hyperlink within a message on Thunderbird, I open an infinite stream of tabs on Firefox. What's happening? Yesterday I was able to close to close tabs and stop the progression; today I had to close Firefox entirely.

This can happen when you set Firefox as the program to open a type of content it can't actually handle. Please see this support article on how to clear that setting: [[Firefox repeatedly opens empty tabs or windows after you click on a link]].

None of this will, in all likelihood, address your actual issue, but:
Close your resources in the reverse order you opened them. That means ResultSet, Statement and finally Connection
Speaking of finally, make sure you close your resources within a finally block. That is what they are there for. You need the resources freed regardless of whether the request was successful or not
Move the System.out.println() out of the loop. You are not connecting every time. You are fetching records every time. It is misleading.
Do not use SELECT *. Always explicitly label what columns you are selecting. Otherwise, another developer has to go to the actual table, describe it, and see what is coming out.

Apple emails with links to iTunes causes infinite number of tabs to open

Whenever Apple sends me an email with links to iTunes, clicking on them causes Firefox to open an infinite number of tabs eg., they keep on opening without going to iTunes.

You get that problem if you select the Firefox program to handle a file if you get an "open with" dialog.

It's not specific sites. I can middle-click on the same link 50 times and it will open it in a new tab 45 times and 5 of those times, it will randomly open it in an entirely new window. I don't know what's causing this.
It happens so randomly that I don't know how to pin-point what it could be.

I can highlight copy and paste from other web screens with no problem.
The chat window however doesn't give access to the lines that have scrolled past the window so highlighting the text won't work. Other chat windows grab the entire text when the user clicks on the copy link or icon.
I just installed firefox and haven't tried other chat windows to see if the problem could be repeated.

Ericsvaren please make sure the date range selected is sufficient to include the order for your font. I would also encourage you to make a local back up in case you need the font again in the future. Welcome to the community.
Unfortunately, you cannot do that. The first hurdle that you are going to face, is that mobile devices, by virtue of being prone to loss, will always require that a password is entered before a purchase of any kind is made.
If your concern about the password, is related to your privacy in regard to your mail, contacts and calendar information rather than their acces to make purchases, then the best solution would be for you to use another Apple ID for iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.

I have a Yahoo search bar acting like an App tab that I can't get rid of. There is no option to unpin when I right click on it.

I have a yahoo search bar which was installed during a download and installation of SIW.exe a system information application from http://gtopala.com/. It was the freeware version which is add based software. However I didn't expect that the search function would be such a nusance and interfere with Firefox's functions.
The search bar is acting like a App tab that I can't move or get rid of. Ther is no option to unpin the object when I right click on the bar or to change it in any way using the 'group your tab' function to the right of the tab tool bar.

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

The icons for links are gone. In their place are hyphentated boxes. After I click on the link once the real icon comes back. But litterally EVERY link icon is now a hyphenated box till I click once. How can I fix this?

The icons for links are gone. In their place are hyphenated boxes. After I click on an existing link once the real icon comes back. For Example: I have several bookmark links for Amazon. Those links now have hyphenated boxes as their icons not the Amazon icon. Once I click on an existing link the Amazon icon is activated and replaces the hyphenated boxes. Literally EVERY bookmark / link icon is now a hyphenated box till I click once. How can I fix this? I'm running Firefox 8.0 on windows XP. This problem started this week. Before and After upgrading to firefox 8.0 from 7.xxxx. See screen shot example.jpg i've attached below. Double click to enlarge it for better viewing. Any input welcomed. Not a major problem but I would like to have the icons back.

Thanks. That solved it. I had my doubts since I wasn't concerned about my lost bookmarks. I was concerned about the broken functionality. In any event, restoring from a backup solved both the functionality and the lost bookmarks. I appreciate the response!
