Clicking on alerts to snooze or close difficult

This problem started quite awhile ago. I was hoping that after an erase and reinstall to solve a printer problem, that the iCal problem would be solved as well. Unfortunately, it has not. When an alert appears, if I click on the x to close it, I have to click over and over before it finally will work. If I want to snooze the alert, I have to click over and over before the drop down menu appears. My calendars were created in iCal 1 during my use of Jaguar and progressively upgraded. I am now using iCal 2.0.3 which was the latest upgrade with the latest Tiger update. When I did my complete reinstall, I only put my calendars back in my library. I did NOT put any caches or preferences back. Any suggestions would be appreciated as this is very frustrating.

I sure am glad to hear that I am not the only one with this problem My son is running 10.4.6 on his emac and does NOT have this problem. I was beginning to think it was only me, since no one had responded to this question that I posted quite awhile ago.

seems rather buggy, but this is the worst annoyance.
I never know how many clicks it will take before I
can select a new alarm interval. Have tried
click/hold, etc., but nothing seems consistent.

Cannot open iPhoto. It's on the toolbar, but will not open. It sounds like the window might have slipped down below the Dock or similar. Try change your screen resolution and (SystemPreferneces -> Displays) and that should force it back into reach. The return the resolution to whatever it was.

See this knowledge base article. Also, you might want to update to 10.6.8 (don't know that that will fix your problem, but it's the latest version of Snow Leopard).

You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You should still have your profile folder, so when you install 3. you will get your bookmarks and other user data back.

Also, when crashes do not give me any reports!
Started in safe mode, with another administrator, the problem becomes even: your video card is not compatible with Quartz Extreme!
My card is a g-force framework 4000 FOR MAC!!
STRANGE TRUE!

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode?

Right Click PDF print the file prints & closes Adobe stays open

This issue has been brought up in the past however there does not appear to be an adequate solution.
It appears it was introduced as far back as version 8, I am basing from what I read in posting.
When you right click a PDF to print Adobe opens the file prints the file closes however the Adobe Reader window stays open.

The right click print is not the only instance of this behavior.
When other programs are useed to call Adobe Reader to produce & print the PDF the Adobe Reader remains open.
It seems like a small thing but it is a large annoyance and I can't think of why it would be desired by anyone.
Adobe, please fix this.

If you have a postscript printer or rip which has the ability to create hot folders to link to the printer queues you could simply drag-n-drop and PDL (page description language) file like PDF, PS, EPS to that hot folder to initiate printing. Again, very dependent on your printer/rip device.

Unix command to click button on dialog box and close windows?

I administer an elementary school computer lab of 35 eMacs all with OS 10.4.7 and with ARD 3.0. Our network server configuration requires a mounted server on each desktop in order to administer certain software packages we use. Every morning at start-up I have to walk around and manually click "Connect" on the dialog boxes. Then, with this configuration, each time a server is mounted, it opens up a Finder Window on the host machine so I've got to walk around and close windows on all the machines. I'm sure there must be an AppleScript or Unix command that I can set up to do these two tasks but I've not found it (or learned how to write it) in a few days of searching. Any suggestions?

OK guys,
I just succeeded in saving the AppleScript command as an application. I put it in the Login Items just after the servers. It worked beautifully! No more open windows exposing sensitive files to the risks of elementary students (how come the mounted volumes always appear on the desktop even when the "hide" button is checked?). It would be great if the mounted volumes were not showing at least in a setting like a school computer lab.
Now, I'm still dealing with the mounting process requiring me to manually click on "Connect" every time. The Student account doesn't even have a password just to make such things easier. Still the process displays this:

Here's what it says: Connect to the file server "server name."
Connect as: Registered User
Name: "account name"
√Remember password in keychain
(and then two buttons) Cancel or Connect
That's where I'm at right now. My district Tech. Support folks say that there's no way to avoid the dialog box but John seems to do it OK. They also pointed me to an online source (www.bombich.com) that I haven't yet checked out.

Clicking on Photoshop CS5 preset brushes closes down Photoshop. Help!

Whilst I am working in Photoshop, if I click on the preset brushes toggle or open the brushes and click on one of the preset brushes a message appears saying that there has been a problem with Photoshop and very promptly the application closes causing me to loose my work. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there an update or a 'bug-zapper' (my own technical term!) I can use?! Thanks for your help.

Update your graphics driver and/or turn off OpenGl in the prefs.

I have an installation Alert that says to close iTunes. But iTunes isn't being used.

I have an Installtion Alert on my Desktop saying" In order to continue installation, please close the following application. iTunes! But I dont have iTunes running right now and I cant get anything updated or installed. Its just frozed right now. Whats the best plan?

Clicking 'Accept' on License Agreement automatically closes program

I am learning that this is a problem experiened by a lot of new users of Acrobat 9 Pro.
I install the program from my CD.
Install goes fine, the Licensing Agreement window appears, I click 'Accept' and the Window and program closes instantly.
I have used Script Cleaner, I've installed and uninstalled the program no less than 10 times and I can't get past the Licensing Agreement window!

Do this if your have Service Pack 2 and above:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

Calendar sending Exchange meeting invites on snooze or close

Since the upgrade to Yosemite, I am experiencing an issue with recurring meetings.
I am the organizer of several recurring meetings is an Exchange calendar. The meetings all have a 15 minute reminder set. Once the reminder notification is shown, I select either the 'Close' or 'Snooze' button on the notification. This causes an update to the meeting to be sent to all invitees.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

assigned any privilege
to someone as an Editor. If so, he/she would be able to change, edit or delete meeting requests. You may enable auditing for such changes that will help you to check the changes such as,
