Clicking on Firefox or Thunderbird icons to open the programs opens them twice

I have also noticed it happening lately when clicking on my Password Safe icon.
32 bit Vista, Firefox 3.5.2.

I can confirm this.
In my case - if FF7 (7.0.1 but also happenend with 7.0) is open with some tabs and the PC returns (= wakes up) from hibernation all works fine until a open a new tab or window - after that FF freezes and needs to be closed using task manager.

Firefox or thunderbird refuses to open after windows 7 hibernation

everytime I close the lid on my laptop it goes into hibernation and everytime in the morning when I open it and wake it up Firefox or Thunderbird refuses to open up it looks like it starts up but then nothing happens not even the main browser window opens up. Same thing with Thunderbird....
Any suggestions?

That is the Java Quick Starter, a couple of options for you:
# Open the add-ons manager (in the Tools menu select Add-ons)
# In the list of Extensions, click on Java Quick Starter to select it, then click on Disable
When you re-start Firefox that should stop the error.
The second option is to re-install Java. You are using an old version of Java so it is recommended that you install the latest version, available from http://java.com/

I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

SInce upgrading to ios 7.04, my touchscreen is not working right. I cannot swipe anything, and I have to double tap on the icons to open them. The voice notifications will not turn off.

I think Firefox engineers need to improve Firefox between now and the next up-date to make it adequate to handle all major websites. There aren't many websites used by as many people as yahoo. So why have Firefox engineers ignored this deficiency in Firefox?

Use the volume buttons on the side of the phone. Personally, I find it's better with those off completely.

Firefox or Thunderbird will not open with firewall enabled,(eset Smart Security)

After the most recent update to Firefox, it now won't open until I disable my firewall. Once it is open I can enable the firewall again and all is good. The same thing happened to Thunderbird about two weeks previous. When I try to open either one when the firewall is on nothing happens, yet the process shows it's running in Task Manager. I have to end the process..disable firewall.. start Firefox and Thunderbird..then turn on firewall.

After reading several posts in the Support Forum I tried a solution. I deleted the "sessionstore-backups" folder.
Please try this: click the menu button ≡ and then click help ? > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder". Then a new window will open up. In this window look out for a folder named "sessionstore-backups", delete this folder and restart firefox afterwards.
The problem was resolved.

Every single time I launch Firefox 20 under Mac OS X 10.7.5 I get the click-thru warning message "'Firefox' is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?". How do I stop this? There are internet postings and previous postings about solving this using Terminal commands for OS X 10.5.x & 10.6.x, but these commands do NOT work in 10.7.x or 10.8.x. This seems to be a Firefox ONLY issue, and solving it by globally turning off OS X security features as recommended before in a previously closed thread seems like a really BAD solution. Is there a "Firefox only" solution, or will I just have to stop using Firefox?

I had upgraded to Firefox 20 using the automatic update process, so the last time I'd downloaded a .dmg and manually installed Firefox was a long time ago. I trashed Firefox 20, downloaded a new .dmg and manually transferred to Applications folder and this persistent message ended. I assume if I'd ever launched from the open .dmg the same error message would result, so the fix offered was a solution even though the cause was something different since I only used the automatic update process and never manually handled Firefox .dmg downloads.

When I'm on line and want to send a link via email, when I click on "send Link", thunderbird doesn't pop up with the email page ready for sending. I used to be able to click on send link, type the person's email address and click send and it's done

Firefox puts an icon next to the Mac HD

I loaded Firefox - I now have an icon on my desktop that looks like a small hard drive with the firefox logo. If I delete it, then the next time I start Firefox, it reappears and also another dialog box with the firefox logo, an arrow pointing to the App folder. Do I have to have this icon on the desktop? What is it?
As you can tell, I'm a newby -- loving the MBP 17" - and just trying to get the feel of things..

I launched Firefox --- and it still re-created the icon on the desktop as well as bringing up another box that has Firefox with an arrow pointing to the right into the Application directory...
• Click on Firefox icon and drag into Folder icon. That will install Firefox in your Applications folder.
• Go to Applications and launch Firefox.
• Go to Dock and click and hold Firefox icon and choose option to keep in Dock.
• Go to sidebar in Finder window and eject Firefox disk icon, or select on desktop and Eject (command + e).
