Clicking on Photoshop CS5 preset brushes closes down Photoshop. Help!

Whilst I am working in Photoshop, if I click on the preset brushes toggle or open the brushes and click on one of the preset brushes a message appears saying that there has been a problem with Photoshop and very promptly the application closes causing me to loose my work. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there an update or a 'bug-zapper' (my own technical term!) I can use?!  Thanks for your help.

Update your graphics driver and/or turn off OpenGl in the prefs.

  • Safari: When i click the MINIMIZE button, the browser shuts down! Help??

I just downloaded Safari for the first time (coz I'm jealous I don't have a Mac!). Whenever I click the minimize button up the top right-hand corner, the web browser closes completely instead of just minimizing.... Anyone got any idea why this might be happening??
    I'm running Windows Vista btw....
    Thanks!

    Cheers J-G
I actually figured it out. I had just downloaded another program for Mac-wannabes who are stuck with Windows called Rocketdock, which provides you with the Mac version of the windows task bar for your desktop. In my Rocketdock options, there is an option that says "Minimize windows to Rocketdock" and I had this option selected. I have now de-selected it and everything is back to normal

  • Click on a movie to play, shuts down iTunes--HELP!!!

Okay, long lengthy road to this point, but I can give you the basics here:
    --purchased and downloaded videos
--backed my library up with videos
--windows xp's years of patches started giving me crap
    --upgraded to windows 7
    --reinstalled itunes
--used backup discs to bring back my videos to use
--music and newly downloaded video podcasts work fine
--clicked on a video to play and it asked me to authorize it (what the ****?) on this computer (its the same computer, different OS, but i authorized it)
--clicked on the video again to play, shut down itunes. clicked on other videos, the same result.
I'm really wondering what happened, because it never did that to me before. I mean, i even system restored it to the very day i installed it just in case i made some little missteps in the process, but the same thing happened. Every time i click on a itunes movie, it shuts it down. I wonder if something went weird in the backup or if there's something else that needs to be done, but this is just ridiculous.

okay, i opened it up and apparently it works okay now
but if it has PMS again, i'll let you guys know. weird.

  • Genius screen won't close down on main app store screen

Have now turned off genius in App Store but despite clicking on 'done' it won't close down. Any suggestions as the App Store now cannot be accessed?

I just turned on Genius for Apps and am having the same problem; no matter how many times I touch close, the screen doesn't close.  Therefore, I cannot access the App Store.  Can anyone help with this?

  • Photoshop Help in CS4

When I click on Photoshop Help in the Help Menu in CS4, it goes to the web and proclaims that the url cannot be found (it is obvioulsy an incorrect url that reads
The requested URL /en_US/Photoshop/11.0/--POSTPROCESS-INSERT-GOURL-- was not found on this server.
I have found the correct url (and bookmarked it) but it would be nice to get there from inside CS4 itself. Can anyone tell me how I can change the requested URL to the correct one?
Thanks! I am techically deficient so I am hoping it is a simple fix. Otherwise, I guess I will just go there from my web browser. I have to add that I find it a titch irksome that my 5 minute old upgrade has such an obvious defect but I figure it is probably faster to try the brains here than to try offical Adobe-dom.

    Chris Cox!
Great to see you posting here after all this time.

LOL,  I can't even begin to complain with the number if times I misread questions, and then try to break my own record for the number of typos in a single post.
The image above was taken on a photgraphic weekend where the group (of all young ladies ) I was travelling with, set us a photography challenge.  The one above was my response to a 'faceless portrait'.  The only other one I attempted was this response for a picture of a 'wild animal', featuring camera club president Liz.
Oh what fun we had, laughing and laughing until our faces fell off.
[EDIT]  Both taken at Karamea, which some visitors to NZ might recognise as the western end of the Heaphy Track.

  • I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and it closes down every time I open it.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and it closes down every time I open it with the following error: "Photoshop Quit Unexpectedly". Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?

The first question is have you used this version on this computer with the operating system you have now. The issue might be (if you are on a Mac) that CS2 was a Power PC application and you have upgraded to a new computer with an Intel processor. CS2 will not work on an Intel processor with system (I think) OSX.6 or greater.
If you have used this release on this computer with the same OS, than try deleting the preferences by holding down the Comand/Control-Option-Shift keys when starting the application. You will get a message asking if you want to delete the preferences, say yes.
Let me know if any of these work.

  • Iphoto ver 8.1.2 unable to open iphoto. can hold down mouse button and 1 page of iphoto will open. click anywhere on screen and iphoto closes

Cannot open iPhoto. It's on the toolbar, but will not open. I can hold the mouse over the icon and hold the mouse button down and iPhoto will open to a thumbnail photo, but if I click anywhere on the page, iPhoto closes. iPhoto shows open on top of page, but practically all selectable items are gray.

It sounds like the window might have slipped down below the Dock or similar. Try change your screen resolution and (SystemPreferneces -> Displays) and that should force it back into reach. The return the resolution to whatever it was.

I down loaded the update for 4 and when I get to the end where is you click finish, it tells me to close firefox, but I do not have it open. Now I can not get in to Firefox at all. PLEASE Help.

You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You should still have your profile folder, so when you install 3. you will get your bookmarks and other user data back.
There is a third party version of Firefox that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • HT4710 iphoto will not close down when i click on the red X button

iphoto will not close down when i click on the red X button

Right (Command) click on the iPhoto icon in the Dock and see if you can select Quit there or if you get an iPhoto not responding message.  If you do get that message you'll have to the the  ➙ Force Quit... menu option then figure out why iPhoto is stalled.
