Clicking sound effect while browsing scrolling mouse

As I scroll with my mouse pad over website a "clicking" sound effect goes off.

If a new profile has the same problem, it's an indicative that it's something external to Firefox that's doing this. As you can probably imagine, this doesn't happen to me or any one Firefox user I know of. This may be caused, then, by a plugin (go into ''Tools > Add-ons > Plugins'' to manage them), or any other thing in your computer. Even the drivers of your mousepad.
Of course, if I was able to hear the sound, maybe I'd be able to identify where it comes from. Is it a Mac OS X sound? Maybe it's some kind of "error" that's being reported to the OS and that shouldn't be happening?
In any case, try reinstalling Firefox. No data will be lost, so don't worry.

  • Clicking sound every time using extermal mouse or touchpad

    SatelliteP770-PSBY3U-03L01Q As mentioned above, there is a loud(depending on speaker vol) clicking sound whenever the mouse or touchpad button is pushed that causes the computer to perform an operation. This is very annoying as it does it all the time, if the sound is on. Makes listening to music, playing games, and just working with the computer a pain in the ----. The noise sounds like relays opening/closing!!
    ANY IDEAS other than not using the sound??
    Solved!

    One of my favorites. I have it set to qclick.wav.
    Open Sound in Control Panel. In the Program Events box on the Sounds tab, locate the Start Navigation event, which is under Windows Explorer. Set the sound to (None) as shown.

  • Random 'click' sound effect playing in Chrome - Mac or Chrome sound?

    Anyone else having this? It started for me on Thursday and I can't for the life of me imagine what it is or what it might be doing - might it be a sound on Chrome that came without warning with the latest automatic update or a Mac sound that I accidentally turned on? If so, where might the file be? I recently deleted all the alert and user interface sound files cos I didn't want them anymore, so I'm pretty baffled. (I'm on OS X 10.7.5)

    With Flash Player 10.2 the new StageVideo API became available. Using this new API enables hardware accelerated video rendering, boosting video performance and reducing CPU usage.
    In the latest OSMF builds (starting with the OSMF 1.6 Sprint 1 build) support for the StageVideo is enabled by default.
    What you've experienced it's a known limitation of using OSMF or SMP in a Flex application, where the video is shown behind all the Flex components.
    To make your video visible, you have to set backgroundAlpha=”0″ for your mx:Application or other flex containers of your video.
    Alternatively, if you don't want the performance boost you get from using StageVideo, you can disable it and your app should work as expected.
    Here's how you do that: OSMFSettings.enableStageVideo = false;
    As for your latest post, Chrome has it own version of Flash Player bundled with the browser and it manages the updates by itself.
    I suspect you still have 10.2 installed in chrome. Use Chrome to visit this link to learn what version of Flash Player it's using: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    I hope this helps!

  • Can't hear menu effect (click sounds) through Optical cable

    After connecting my Apple TV to my receiver through Optical I've noticed that I can no longer hear the Apple TV's menu sounds (click sounds) anymore unless I scroll through a menu real fast.
    Is there anyway to fix this?

    As far as I can tell, the M-Audio Keystation 61es does not have any form of on board sound generation. So whatever you heard in Garageband was synthesized by GB. In the same way you'll have to set up a virtual instrument in Logic to generate the sound.
    Apart from that, it sounds like you are not really aware of the difference between Midi controller data and audio data, or at least the way they are routed. The midi controller has no way to send audio to logic through a midi connection. If it had on-board sounds, you'd have to route the audio explicitly to logic using an audio interface or in rare cases using audio over the USB connection that also does midi. In any case, you'd have to route the sound manually. The external instrument plugin in logic allows you to do that easily. But again, I don't think that applies to your situation.
    Cheers,
    Jazz

  • Is there anyway to have an application use the output for Alerts/Sound Effects?

    I am trying to set some applications to use the output designated for the System Alerts and Sound Effects, while other applications continue to use the regular Output?  I am using the Audio MIDI Utility with Aggregate/Multiple Outputs.

    An action can specify the resources that it needs, which will trigger alerts if they are not there.  Assuming that the system resources are there, you can include actions in an application bundle - see the Installing Actions section of the Automator Programming Guide.

  • Sound effects During a transition

    Is there a way to play sound DURING a transition from one slide to the next? e.g. I would like to use the Shutter transition and play a camera shutter sound effect while you see the shutter close and open. Another example would be a bang during a Fall transition, as if it hit the floor. I currently have a large library of effects I can use.

    Greetings and welcome to the forum.
    Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but what you want to do - while an excellent idea - is not possible with the current version of Keynote. You might want to address this to the Keynote Feedback Forum as an "enhancement request."

  • Sleep button used to have a click sound

    My phone is 4 days old and I remember hearing a "click" sound effect when pressing the sleep/wake button. After a day or two it stopped, and makes no sound. I've checked settings and there is no option for it. Do other people's make this sound when putting your phone to sleep?

    Hi TechFrency, This happened to me. Make sure you don't have your phone vibrate mode only. The button on the top left side. If it has a red dot then it's in vibrate only. This will silence the clicking sound.
    Hope this helps.

  • No sound during playback (but sound effects are working)

    Was there a bad incremental update in the last 24 hours? Woke up this morning to find that my 2nd Gen Apple TV has gone mute. But only during playback of videos or music. The clicking sound effect during navigation comes through just fine. Tried this over HDMI and the Digital out, with both a receiver and directly to the tv. Also tried it with multiple apps so it isn't app specific. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

    Sorry if I came off a bit testy. I use the Apple TV daily in my work environment for background noise and the issues totally derailed my workflow this morning.
    So, I tried adjusting audio settings for both Dolby Digital and Audio Out. No luck.
    Last resort time. Hardwired (USB cable) to my laptop and restored via iTunes. Success, audio fuctional across all apps. Not the best of solutions because of the time required to restore accounts for the various 3rd party apps on the Apple TV but it worked.
    Guess I will never know what caused the 'no audio" issue though I suspect a bad/failed auto update. As convenient as that new feature is, it doesn't help when things go wrong.
    A final note, beta software is supposed to be buggy, I undertstand. Production stuff isn't. I've been a loyal Apple user for 20+ years now because of their quality control. I've used competing products too and felt very annoyed at the lack of QC (looking at you Google TV). I would love to see quicker addressing of bugs on the Apple TV OS because a bad experience is what drives less-technical users away. It is a real game changer device if Apple were to even attempt to give it the level of support that other products get. Anyways, that's my soapbox moment.

  • How do I stop keyboard and mouse sound effects?

    I have tried everything for turning off sound effects on the Mac, but it is still making noises when I type or click the trackpad. How can I get these annoying noises to turn off?

    Are you saying that, with the sound muted, you're still getting those sounds? Are you certain they are coming from the computer's speakers? Try plugging in a pair of headphones... do you hear the sounds through the headphones? Are the sounds playing for every single keypress and mouse click?
    If you have any external mice or keyboards, disconnect them. Any nearby Bluetooth keyboards or mice should be turned off or have their batteries removed. Does this make a difference?
    Try restarting the computer in safe mode. Test while in that mode. Does the problem continue?
    These problems are not due to any kind of malware. There is no known malware for the Mac that behaves this way.

  • Mouse Click Sound

    Hello, I am trying to create a simple flash game which
    involves shooting. I have scoured the internet for a couple of days
    to try to find a way to make a gun sound when the mouse button is
    clicked, but to no avail. Could someone please point me in the
    right direction. I am using Flash CS3. Thanks for your time,
    Dave.

    dindelus,
    > I have very little 2.0 knowledge and even less 3.0, so I
    > am using Action Script 2.0 for this.
    What you'll need, in any case, is an instance of the Sound
    class -- and
    I'll show you the AS2 syntax. Presumably, you already have an
    instance of
    your button symbol (i.e., and instance of the Button class)
    on your Stage.
    That button will need an instance name so that ActionScript
    can pick it out
    of the crowd. We're going to assign a function to the
    Button.onPress event
    of that instance, and that function is going to invoke
    Sound.start() on your
    sound instance.
    As an aside, the following realization may actually help you
    in terms of
    reading through the ActionScript 2.0 (and 3.0) Language
    Reference. Just
    about everything in ActionScript may be described as an
    object, and objects
    are defined by (usually) namesake classes. Classes are
    effectively blue
    prints for the objects they define, and you'll tend to find
    one or more of
    the following three categories when you look up a class:
    properties
    (characteristics of the object), methods (things the object
    can do), and
    events (things the object can react to).
    So to start, here's an instance of the Sound class.
    var s:Sound = new Sound();
    At this point, that arbitrarily named variable, s, is an
    access point
    for all the functionality described by the Sound class, which
    among other
    things, contains an attachSound() method. This allows you to
    pull sound
    assets from the Library at runtime, so first,
    right-click/Command-click on
    your asset in the Library, choose Linkage from the context
    menu, and give
    the asset a unique Linkage identifier. Think of this as a
    kind of nickname
    ActionScript uses to pull the asset to the Stage. Then use
    that Linkage id
    as the parameter of your method:
    s.attachSound("gunshot");
    In two lines, then, we've created an instance of the Sound
    class and
    associated it with a sound clip. Now for the button event:
    myButton.onPress = function():Void {
    s.start();
    Badda bing, that's it.
    Now, you might want to have the sound appear without the
    necessity of a
    button beneath it -- though you could, certainly, put a large
    button over a
    large portion of the Stage. If you just want a free-for-all
    sense of
    make-the-sound-no-matter-where-the-mouse-is-clicked ... that
    might go like
    this:
    var s:Sound = new Sound();
    s.attachSound("gunshot");
    var listener:Object = new Object();
    listener.onMouseDown = function():Void {
    s.start();
    Mouse.addListener(listener);
    Much of that is the same, as you can see. This time, a
    generic Object
    instance acts as liaison for the Mouse.onMouseDown event --
    which kind of
    makes sense, as you can't really have an instance of the
    Mouse class (the
    Mouse class represents interactions with the mouse). Again, a
    function is
    assigned to a relevant event -- you'll see this event if you
    look up the
    Mouse class entry of the ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference
    -- and the
    Mouse class itself is subscribed to this Object (named
    listener, by chance)
    thanks to its addListener() method.

  • Can you enable natural scrolling on touchpad, but disable it while using a mouse?

    Just got a Macbook Pro with Lion, which I am enjoying very much, but this also means natural scrolling is enabled by default.
    This makes a lot of sense to me on the touchpad, as I also have a smartphone, and scrolling works the exact same way on that; you slide things off the screen.
    BUT for some reason Lion tells itself, that while I have natural scrolling activated on touchpad, it should also activate it in my mousesettings, which is very annoying, as it doesn't fell natural at all. And every time i disable it for mouse, it also disables on touchpad and vice versa.
    Is there a way to just enable it for touchpad? I simply can't get used to it on the scrolling weel, as I've grown too used to the traditional way while browsing and doing work in Photoshop/Illustrator.
    It's a Microsoft mouse btw, if this could help resolve the issue somehow.

    this is an old thread, and probably closed, but you can download an application like scroll reversor, it lets you choose individual directions for your mouse and trackpad, (and tablet, but you didn't mention one)
