Clicking sound has stopped

clicking sound has stopped for on/off function; still get keyboard clicks, though; how do i get on/off clicks back?

Katie, thank you!
You're reply to Pam up top helped me fix my issue on my I pad! I had accidentally turned it off without realising and had honestly forgotten the little switches function. Thanks again, such a little thing that was driving me insane!!!

  • Satellite C650 sound has stopped working

I've had my laptop for about 6months and have had no problems with the sound until now.
I have recently done a windows update and a few hours after my sound has stopped working completely.
I have updated the driver (Conexant Cx20671 smart audio hd) after that failed i un-installed and reinstalled the driver off the toshiba downloads, after restarting again no sound.
When i have media player on, the sound mixer recognizes there is something playing but there is no sound coming out the speakers
    _*please can someone help!!!*_

Ok, this means that the sound driver is OK.
Please go to the control panel -> sound -> Playback tab
Here you have to check if the speakers are set as default device.
Furthermore mark the speakers and click on settings button.
There you can also check the volume level.

  • TS3274 My apps sound has stopped working.  Music and Internet sound is fine but all games have no sound

My sound has stopped working only on games
Works fine for Internet and music
    How do I fix this?

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • Satellite A60 - sound has stopped working

Satellite A60 - sound has stopped working. Downloaded new sound driver from toshiba web site - clicked on sound update icon and it worked, but disappeared every time I restarted.
Clicked on installshield icon, and install starts, but then has an error message saying 0x80040303, unknown error, setup terminates - this happens every time.
Tried to download other updates, but it says I didn't register my laptop, which I'm sure I did, and won't let me do it again because it's more than 6 months old.
    Help!!

    Hello
Try to roll back the operating system to an earlier time when everything works fine. On this way it is not easy to say why this happen. Try also to remove sound card from device manager and restart the unit.
All drivers for your unit you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Sound has stopped.  Have checked speaker, side switch and volume control.  Anything else?

Sounds for what? Music, apps, alerts? Or all?
Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

my sound has stopped working on my iphone 4s I did a complete restore and still no luck, any suggestions?

If the silent switch is off, no change after inserting and removing the earbuds or headset cable a number of times, and the same after restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the backup, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

  • Sound has stopped working on hp dv6 windows 7

i was using my hp dv6 laptop which runs on windows 7, when the sound just stopped suddenly. i unplugged my speaker and when i did it the sound coming through the speaker was like a clicking, as if the sound is lagging or something. ive tried everything i can think of including searching for driver updates of which there arent any because im up to date. so i tried rolling back and that didnt work so updated again and still doesnt work..please help me. ive only had the laptop for a couple of weeks and it hasnt been abused or anything. i just dont understand it at all and dont want to pay a fortune for some1 to fix it, please help!

Is the external speakers are working fine, and internal speakers has cracking sound - i suspect it to be speaker hardware related issue. you may need to report this ti HO technical support and have the unit serviced if needed.
If none or the speakers work or just external does not work, you can troubleshoot issues related to internal/external audio switching from the link below.

  • 3G iPhone click sounds have stopped working.

For no apparent reason, the keyboard click sounds (feedback) have stopped working. Sounds from other apps work fine (audio), as well as iPod music, etc., but anything which gives a click sound feedback has stopped. I performed a sync, as well as went through all settings that have anything to do with sound or audio and it hasn't helped. I hate the idea of having to do a complete reset and reinstallation and configuration of everything, but what are my choices?
    TIA

Not really stupid, some people don't even know their computer is unplugged when they see a dark screen and call tech support right away:-)
But, Yes, I did a sync, I toggled all settings, I turned it off, accessed all typing apps, etc. Sound everywhere else works, just not keyboard click sound feedback. I am left to wonder if the actual click sound file itself got hosed and needs to be reloaded if that is possible - it seems that one can't access systems sounds to find out.

  • Sound has stopped working on 1 account; works ok on another; how to reset?

The sound on my main account has stopped working ....
When I press the volume controls, I get a little "no go" sign and nothing happens
    No sound-related applications are working
But when I log in as a different user, sound is working fine
How shoudl I start debugging this one? (it has been working until recently, and I do not think I've installed anything weird...)
    Many thanks, Tony

Thinking doesn't help, knowing does. Try this. Create a new admin user account, log into it, set up the sound prefPane as desired, and test that sound works. Open that account's Preferences folder (it's in the account's Library folder), make a list of those preference (plist) files, including those in the ByHost subfolder, log out and back into the problematic account, open up its Preferences folder, and move those list plist files into an empty folder on the Desktop, log out and back in and see if the problem's fixed. If so, then slowly move the moved plists back, log out and back in, and eventually you'll figure out which ones are conflicting or are corrupted. Once that's sorted out, deleted any moved ones remaining on the Desktop.

  • The right click function has stopped working on by trackpad

The right click function has stoped working?  any idea how to remediate?

It could be as simple as not having the two-finger secondary click function enabled in the Trackpad seetings in System Preferences.

  • HT5622 iPad 3 and my sound has stopped from speakers, but can get from headphones.  It's not the side switch and the volume is max in all areas.  Anyone got any ideas, what problem is and how to fix it thanks

    Hi,
My iPad has just stopped working with sound from the speakers, it works fine with the headphones in.  The soft mute button is not made and the volume is at max.
Any ideas what problem is and how to sort.  Thanks

System sounds can be muted from the software switch in the task bar as well as from the side switch depending on how you have it set up. This my boilerplate resonse for sound issues.
    1. If you have no sound at all, even in the Music App, try rebooting the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    2. If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.

    3. If you still have no sound at all - except when using headphones ....try cleaning the dock connector opening of the iPad with a soft brush and just a little bit of rubbing alcohol.
