Clicking Sound When Images Load

Greetings,
I am getting a faint clicking noise whenever images load onto the screen - such as on the internet, or when an application opens. Also, I get the sound when I scroll on a web page with my external mouse. Any ideas? Many thanks!

• Are you able to detect the location of the clicking sound? That is, does is come out of the speakers, or from somewhere else on the computer, like under the keyboard etc.?
• Do you have the original HDD in the computer? While booted from the computer go to Apple Menu > About this Mac > More Info > Hardware > ATA. On the right pane at the top you will see ATA device tree. The first ATA Bus entry is your internal HDD. Select it, then go to the second section and doubleclick on the ID, copy and paste is in your response.
The sounds you describe are most commonly associated with the internal HDD and we need to eliminate that as the cause. If it seems to be coming from the speakers, turn the sound off, and see if it makes a difference.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in. The ipod doesnt turn on when I plug it into the wall, even if I let it charge, and itunes won't recognize it. I have tried to reset it with the home and power buttons. Whats wrong and how can I fix it? I think it might be the memory or the battery. What could the clicking sound be related to? Thanks

Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Click sound when opening/closing cover

I've had the ipad 2 and Apple cover for 2 months. When I first got it, there was a click sound when opening or closing the cover. There is no sound anymore when opening/closing. Did I change a setting somehow which caused this?

On the new iPad, the switch next to the volume rocker has two functions, depending on how you have it set in 'Settings.' There's a section in General called Use Side Switch to:. You can either use it to Lock Rotation or Mute. When it is set to Lock Rotation and the switch is pushed to the left, yes, the rotation is locked, but when it is set to Mute, and the switch is pushed to the left, all sounds are muted, including the sound for when closing the cover.

Should Keyboard have the "clicking" sound when typing?

I noticed that the MacBook Pros, when typing on them, have the clicking sound when pressing each key. My wired keyboard also has a clicking sound when typing. However, the MBA I just received in the mail, does not. Only the space bar essentially does. Is this the same for all of them? Thanks.

Yes, this is normal. The keys don't really click, the spacebar isn't really a click but it makes a slightly more click like sound the other keys on the MBA.
The latest MBP keys are more like the MBA keys I believe.

I had this happen as well. Restarting my MacBook Pro (8,2) made it go away. At other times it seemed to appear when calling some phones (my wife's iPhone 4 and my son's Samsung phone) but not others (my land line), but this was not consistent. My phone is an iPhone 5. I'm hoping the iOS update due tomorrow will fix this.

when i go to sleep and shut my macbook off and close the screen next morning i open my screen and i hear a single click noise??

I have this problem too with my Mid-2012 MBP non-retina. The screen would click once, after being left for a long time, and would be fine after that, until you close it and re-open it again after a long time. It is especially loud in the morning so I think it is temperature dependent. Happened about 3 months after buying. I took it to Apple. First time they replaced the entire screen. They had to since that is the only way to replace the hinge. When I got it back, the screen still clicks. Took it back to Apple again. Second time they just tightened the screws securing the display with the unibody. When I got it back the second time, the screen still clicks. Took it back to Apple again. The third time they replaced the entire screen AGAIN! When I got it back, the problem was fixed for 2 days, then the screen started clicking again so I'm back to square one. I'm wondering whether I should take it to Apple the forth time, but then again, they've already replaced the screen twice which didn't work so I'm not sure what more they can do. It's either this is normal, which implies the screen hinge is really badly designed or the clicking has nothing to do with the screen at all.

I too have an iPad smart cover, and all that clicking sound is is basically the standard lock sound for iOS. The Smart cover is equipped with magnets inside, and the iPad is also equipped with magnets, and when those magnets are closed together the iPad goes to sleep.

Since you are still in the warranty period, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have it checked. The clicks are not loud, but should be audible.

I hit something on my Iphone to make it start talking. I also was not able to slide the screen up or down right or left. I looked around on the web and found out how to stop it from talking, Now it is making clicking sounds when I tap on an app. The screen will still not slide. i am sorry to say but there is no way to undo a software update to go back you have to go threw your phone provider and have then do a replacement on the phone and just not do the update. when they receive the phone they will send it off for testing and to have the bugs fixed

MacBook Pro 13 - Clicking Sound When Opening

I have a MBP 13 that runs perfectly. However recently I noticed a "clicking" sound when I open the display. The noise (a single click) appears to come from the upper right hand side of the screen. Any ideas on whether I should get this checked out?

Screen makes small clicking sound when touched???

sometimes, but not always, my screen on the iPhone 3GS makes a small "clicking" sound when touched. It's not a big deal, but sometimes can be annoying.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I don't want to go to the apple store because I've already done 3 replacements for other reason and want to avoid another. what could be wrong and causing the "clicking" I noticed if I put pressure on the frame, basically squeeze it, the clicking goes away. either something is rubbing or loose.
Anybody else ever experience this? Is there a way to fix it?

My older Ipod makes a clicking sound when I turn it on and tells me to go to the support website. Any ideas what the problem is? It probably needs service as it's indicative of a hard drive problem.
