Clicks when not busy, normal?

Hello,
A few weeks ago my first HD failed and apple replaced it with a new FUJITSU MHV2060AH drive. Now I noticed a click from it every one or two seconds, and I wonder if that is the way it should be. I don't think I heard it before...
It seems that the clicks only happen when the drive is not busy, if I open photoshop for example, the clicks stop until photoshop finished starting up. Those are not series of clicks but one click every few seconds.
Do you think that is normal?

Does Drive Journaling have anything to do with it? The first release of OS X 10.3 did not default to a Journaled format, and perhaps while it's in the shop the Apple Tech replaced the drive and enabled Journaling on it. Journaling maintains a log of all transaction activities to the drive, so the drive will be busier than usual. The advantage of Journaling is that if you have a power outage, you won't lose any data on the drive.
I'm not sure this is the explanation, but to me it seems possible.
Did you check the system logs, kernel logs, and Activity Monitor etc to see which tasks (if at all) might be causing the clicks?

Automatic right click when not intended

I'm facing this strange problem. The right-clicked context menu appears out of nowhere near the mouse, even when I'm expecting it to. This happens while I'm making a normal one finger tap, or simply moving the mouse on the touchpad, or even sometimes when I'm only using the keyboard of my laptop.

The values of 'TapButton2' and 'TapButton3' still shows as '3' and '2' respectively, even after I changed both of them to '0' in the '/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-synaptics.conf' file. Even after restarting the system.
The touchpad works properly for me in Ubuntu 10.10, and I'm facing this problem in Arch only. Please suggest how to identify and fix this auto pop-up of the right-click context menu.

When I lightly lay my hand on the trackpad, in one area, it will randomley "click" even though I do not press down on the trackpad. I do not have the touch to click feature selected either, and am running all of the latest software for it in Lion.

Repair Disk Permissions in Disk Utility.
If that doesn't take care of it do a SMC reset and if that doesn't help do a PRAM reset.
_SMC RESET_
• Shut down the computer.
• Unplug the computer's power cord _and all peripherals_.
• Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
• Release the power button.
• Attach the computers power cable.
• Press the power button to turn on the computer.
_PRAM RESET_
• Shut down the computer.
• Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
• Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
• Release the keys.

I bought my macbook pro in august and have had no problems with it until recently. Sometimes my computer will just click for no reason. this is very frustrating! It doesn't matter what i'm doing...surfing the web, or writing a paper. Sometimes it will go on for 5 minutes, or just randomly do it. Is there anything i can do to fix this? It also seems that at times the mouse doesn't want to move.

Front page opens works shortly freezes. only yellow green buttons work. I click yellow to minimize normal top bar menu appears I choose new page, opens works normally. The restart saved tabs does not work on that first page.

Right-Clicks are not working when burned to disc.

Hi,
I need to use some right clicks in my course.
They work when I publish the file to my desktop or Server (unchecking 'Enable Accessiblity' and using 'Flash Global Settings'), however when I then burn the files to disc to give to a client, the right clicks do not work.
The course is made in Captivate 5.5 and is published to Flash 9.
Any ideas??

Try restarting your Mac.
Open Termimal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal)Try entering this command: killall Dock, and then hit enter
Try dragging the Mail icon out of the dock, then let it disappear in a puff of smoke. Then from Applications/Mail try dragging the Mail icon back into the dock, and see if it works.
Does Mail open otherwise? Like if you try opening it from your Applications folder?if it doesn't:
Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery
if that doesn't work: reinstall Mavericks over your current installation.

When using a proxy server at work, Deezer page does not load normally?

When using a proxy server at work, Deezer page does not load normally, but when I go home and use connection without proxy, everything is fine.
It loads, and some features on the website work, but the look is not the same. Over the proxy it shows just text on the left side of the screen and I can't choose some of the options.
When I go home and use my home connection without proxy, there are no problems, everything is OK.

I accidentally clicked "do not ask me this again" about forcing an extension change when downloading. How do i get firefox to ask me this again?

I was using download helper and a box usually pops up that asks me if i want to force an extension change. I clicked the wrong box and then clicked "do not ask me this again". I would like to get the box back so i can change the setting.

This could be a setting in the add-on. In some cases, you can access an add-on's setting from its icon on the Add-on Bar. In other cases, you can access it from here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
Look for the add-on's "Options" button

Dreamweaver crashes when "initializing" Business Catalyst extension

Hi,
This was my first intent to use the the BC Extension for DW (CS4).
First I was able to open DW and to to connect to BC via the extension panel. I uploaded my website to BC as a trail site and then the problems startet. DW would crash with almost any step I took.
At least I was able to open DW again. But from the moment on, that I clicked "stay logged in" in the BC-Panel, DW crashes from the moment on, when "initializing" BC. That means, I just can´t use DW anymore, because the programme crashes before even opening.
Anyone any idea?

If you experience JavaScript error messages when using Business Catalyst extension with Dreamweaver clearing the cache of Dreamweaver almost always solves it.
So there are two ways of solving this issues.
The first one is to remove the extension through the Extension Manager and re-install it.
The second one is to clear Dreamwaver's cache. Its cache is kept in a file in its Configuration folder. That file name depends on OS:
For Windows it is WinFileCache-<randomString>.dat
For MAC it is MacFileCache-<randomString>.dat
Deleting of that file clears the cache. After restarting Dreamweaver is creating new one.Location of the cache file defers for each version and operating system.
Here is a list of locations depending on OS for Dreamweaver CS4
Vista & 7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\<language>\Configuration
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\<language>Configuration\

Note that folders AppData in Vista and Application Data in Win XP are normally hidden. In order to unhidden them you need to:
 For Vista:
 Open new Windows Explorer window.
 Press Alt to reveal the text menu.
 Choose "Folder Options" from "Tools" menu. In the pop-up window go to "View" tab.
 In the list of options find "Hidden fles and folders" section and mark "Show hidden files and folders". Press ok to Apply the change and to cloce the pop-up.
 For Windows XP:
 Same as for Vista except that you don't need to press Alt in order to reveal the text menu. It is always visible

Hi,
I normally turn my printers off to save few cents of electricity. No point to keep printers on unless you are having/doing business (expecting fax or something). Even at work, for a long weekend, we always turn our printers off.
