Client Copy/Authorization
Client 200 has been copied to 300 and I was able to access se16-TABLE1 and delete some rows from it. But after copying it to 300, I could not delete the rows as the delete option is not highlighted.
I checked in scc4 and it was No changes Allowed. I unchecked it and put it in last option( all changes allowed) and saved. But even though cannot delete it
Any suggestion?
Hi Prashant,
As far as I know, user comparision should be done after adding a role or removing a role.
By doing this user context will be refreshed with the changes and will get effective for usage.

Regarding client copy and authorizations
hi,
i had installed SAP BW 3.5 on my system.it is a fresh installation.now the probelm is that iam unable to open the administration workbench screen which is the most important of all the BW screens available.when i type the relevant tcode , it is saying "screen cannot be opened on 000 client".so i created one more client 070 (by copying client). and when i log on using 070 client , it is saying you are not authorized to use that screen.
any suggestions?had i missed something in the installation?
regards,
raviHi Ravi,
The procedure to delete is as below.
1. Log on to the client to be deleted.
2. Execute SCC5.
3. Check the delete entry from T000.
4. Schedule in the background.
Since you said you have deleted already , may be you have not checked the delete entry fron table T000.
In this case Go to table T000 and delete the entries.
After that create a client as below.
A local client copy copies between clients within the same R/3 System.
Both a local and remote client copy must be initiated from the target client using the following steps:
1. To create an entry for the target client in the client maintenance table, choose SCC4
2. Log on to the target client as SAP* with the initial password PASS.
3. Perform the client copy using SCCL.
4. Select the data to be copied using a profile.
5. Assign the source client for Customizing data, application data, and user master records.
6. Begin the client copy.
7. As copying is a lengthy process, use background processing.
8. To ensure data consistency, you may not logon to the target client during a client copy.
9. Lock the users in source client.

Audit Issue in QA after system restore and client copy
Hi Experts,
We have an audit issue and need your advise on that.
Our QA system was audited and auditors were looking for the approval tickets on which a user was created. I found that several users that were not created in QA and do not even exist in QA have their change logs in QA showing that user was created.
I researched it and found the steps that Basis and DBA's do when creating a new QA client.
1. Basis export user master and authorizations using SAP_USER profile from the target QA environment.
2. Then DBA's restore the QA Environment from the Production Backup.
3. Basis import back the preserved User master and roles using SAP_USER profile.
But when reading about this profile, I came to understand that change documents ( USH* ) tables are not exported and imported back. So that is why we have change logs in our QA from Production system.
So my question is how to solve this issue, where Auditors look at the change documents in QA and ask for the documentation though in reality these change documents are coming from Production. Should we ask for DBA team to truncate USH tables or is there a client copy profile that saves the change logs that we can export and import back.Hi,
as you know the USH* tables belong to delivery class L. The tables in this class are never copied during client copy but you don't do client copy. Idea of deleting records from L tables after backup restore does not sound good because you will loose all data. As a workaround you could backup content of tables with delivery class L, export users SAP_USER, restore production backup, import users and import backup for tables with delivery class L. There is around 5000 L tables in ECC. Another approach could be to restore production on different box and do proper client copy to QA system.

BI analysis auths and traces don't work after client copy
Hello,
We recently moved our BI Development to a new server. Now, the analysis authorizations I created and assigned to the S_RS_AUTH object are no longer working. And, the 'Execute as User' feature in rsecadmin transaction to trace a user is no longer working.
Do I need to regenerate something or reconfigure something?
I inherited this system and was not the original person to set up BI authorizations and traces so I do not know what steps may need to be repeated after a client copy.
Thanks, in advance, for any advice.Thank you Juilius.
It was actually our Developer who made changes to the reports I was testing and really didn't have anything to do with the client copy.
However, the trace functionaly was weird. I had to change a parameter on my user id to get it to work. So, actually, the client copy did change that setting.
Thanks much.

After client copy and import export, WebUI not functioning
Hi Experts,
We have copied the client MKH300 into the client MKH305. The client
copy was performed using SAP_ALL authorization.
After the client copy a client compare was performed and several
differences were discovered. BDLS was run and a custom program was run
to copy custom tables from MKH300 to MKH305. This program has been run
in several other client copy cases and there is no issue with it.
When logging into the WebUI in client MKH305 an error message is
displayed in the application log:
"An exception has occurred during program processing"
(Please see attached screen shot)
When looking into the details the following text is shown:
Diagnosis
An exception occurred during request processing. This was handled
centrally. It changed the program flow and the result of the request
probably contains errors.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator.
Procedure for System Administration
Activate checkpoint group BSP_WD_EXCEPTION_DISPLAY. To do this, use
transaction SAAB. If the error recurs, further details are displayed.
When the check point group was activated there was no more information.
The links in the Homepage are not correct even though the business
roles, config keys etc look the same between the clients.
Much customization seems lost for the WebUI although when comparing the
two clients' customization for the WebUI they seem identical.
The client MKH300 works fine so the intention was that MKH305 should be
an exact copy of that client, but that did not happen.
Could you please help me out.
Thanks!
Nagarajuthey are included in the xe server install ...you could try copying the executables but maybe that wont work if all the libraries arent present
failing that install the regular oracle client -

Client Copy - Which source client 000 or 001?
I have a new SAP Netweaver 2004s SR1 ABAP+JAVA system with the following usage types:
SRM App
SRMLac
AS Java
AS ABAP
DI
MI
All the post-installation steps have been completed (including the CTC template configurations for DI and MI). The Java, DI, and MI have been configured against client 001. Now I want to create a new production client. The J2EE_ADMIN and users associated with DI and MI exist in client 001.
I want to create a new production client 010. Should I copy the users (SAP_USER) from client 001 and the customizing data (SAP_CUST) from client 000? Or, can I copy everything from client 001? There is a lot of conflicting information in the SAP Notes in regard to which source client to use.You should not use a transport of copies for table USR02. Use client copy profile SAP_USER or SAP_UONL (without authorization profiles and roles).
And you should never copy customizing from client 001 to build up a new client. 001 happens to be a ordinary customer client which does not get supplied with changes SAP delivers after the release date. New SAP Netweaver 2004s installations use client 001 to file the user masters needed for the JAVA part. But this does not change the fact that client 001 is a customer client and should not be used as a template.
For local client copies you could use copy profile SAP_UCUS with source client 000 and source client user master 001 in one step. This has the same result as a client copy with SAP_CUST from 000 and SAP_UONL from 001 (i.e. thet authorization profiles and roles come from 000, when you need them from 001 you can either copy the missing individually or use SAP_ PROF in a separate step). -
Hi all,
I have to do a local client copy but i am confused as to what profile to be used. we have two clients 200 & 210 with master data in both. now we want to overwrite 200 client with the config, user-profiles and all but no master data of 210 so that 200 will be cleaned as far as Master data is concerned and we can upload new Master data. but it shouldn't be overwritten by 20 Master data. Can you please help me with what profile to use? Is SAP_UCUS ok? or do i need to choose some other profile?
Thanks & Regards,
PriyaHi Priya,
Taking into account that:
Application Data = Master Data + Transaction Data
And that you can not copy Application data without transaction data using client copy, maybe you can to either create a production client (SCCL) or take a export of client (SCC8) before creating transaction data .You can
either use SAP_ALL or SAP_APPL profile for this. See the notes 24853 and 19574 about it..
Nevertheless, It seems to me you want to copy customizing but not application data so best option is probably SAP_CUST.
SAP_CUST
Client-dependent Customizing, including authorization profiles, are
copied. The application data is deleted and the user data is retained.
User Data -> NO
Customizing -> YES
Application Data -> No (deleted)
SAP_UCUS
Corresponds to SAP_CUST with user master data.
User Data -> YES
Customizing -> YES
Application Data -> No (deleted)\

Edited by: Daniel_Bul on Mar 7, 2012 11:22 AMHi,
SAP_CUSX would be better if you dont want the same user master data in both the clients otherwise you can go ahead with SAP_UCSV .

Hi Gurus;
I want to copy a client which has every data except the master data.
which profile should i choose in this case during client copying.
The new client should have user, roles profiles customising changes of the source client but no master data.
Please update.
Thanks and regardsHello Sandeep,
SAP_APPL for Application data and customizing data
also SAP_USER for User master records and authorization profiles.
If you need to copy customizing data and user master records together u can use SAP_UCSV

I installed SAP NetWeaver2004s SR2.000,001,066 client are automatically established.
Now I'm at client copy section in Installation document.
Is it necerrasy to copy 000 to new client use as production client. Why client copy?
Can not Client-000 be used as production client?
And what are the missions of Client-000,0001,066? What are the differences against each other?
Thanks.

<b>Client 000: SAP Reference Client (SAPR)</b>
This client is shipped as an industry-neutral model company.
To create a new client, as recommended in this documentation, the SAP reference client (SAPR) should be used as the source client in the client copy procedure. The new client will then contain an executable system that can serve as the basis for further customizing, development, training, and testing.
During an upgrade to the mySAP software, client-dependent changes will be automatically updated in the SAPR. To reflect these changes in the other clients, the settings will need to be copied from the SAPR to the other clients.
The Implementation Guide (IMG) contains delta projects that highlight the changes between different mySAP releases. These projects can be used for distributing the new functionality to other clients and other systems in the landscape.
<b>Client 001: SAP Sample Client (SAPS)</b>
As stated previously, when the mySAP system is installed, the SAP reference client (SAPR) and the SAP sample client (SAPS) are identical. After the system has been upgraded, or additional languages have been imported, it is likely that the SAPR will contain customizing table entries and language-dependent text entries relevant to the new release.
The SAPS, like all other clients in the mySAP System, will not contain the new entries after the update. If this information is required in the SAPS, it will need to be transported with customizing transactions and the change management system.
<b>Client 066: SAP Early watch Service Client (SAPE)</b>
SAP provides a proactive support service for checking the performance of a customers system. This Early Watch Service (EWS) involves a survey of the customer system to check various performance criteria. A report is then compiled and forwarded to the customer with recommendations. These recommendations are aimed at improving system performance. The report should also alert the customer to potential problems, so that immediate, corrective action can be taken.
The SAP Early Watch service client (SAPE) enables SAP to remotely access the customer system. The client contains a user record that the SAP EWS personnel use to log onto the customer system and gather the necessary information. The user record only has the minimal R/3 authorizations necessary to allow the EWS to be performed. As the EWS personnel, survey an isolated client, it also protects the companys confidential data in the production (PRD) system.
Normally you copy a new client for the client 000. The new client will then contain an executable system that can serve as the basis for further customizing, development, training, and testing.
Yeh you gotta perform a client copy for making other clients. Its alwaez recommended and better to use client copy to make production client.
You can use various SAP Defined Profiles to perform client copy like SAP_ALL and SAP_CUST as per the requirement.
Hope the above explanation clears your doubt.

Does client copy erase all the data in the target client or?
hi
experts
does clientcopy erase all the data in the target client or except user master records.
regards
rajendra. It depends upon the profile you use for the client copy.
if you use SAP_ALL
All data is deleted from target client and source client data is copied.
and therefore you shall see the profiles and understand them .
SAP_ALL All Client-Specific Data w/o Change Documents
SAP_APPL Customizing and Application Data w/o Change Docs
SAP_APPX SAP_APPL w/o Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_CUST Customizing
SAP_CUSV Customizing and User Variants
SAP_CUSX Customizing w/o Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_PROF Only Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_UCSV Customizing, User Master Records and User Variants
SAP_UCUS Customizing and User Master Records
SAP_UONL User Without Authorization Profiles and Roles
SAP_USER User Master Records and Authorization Profiles
Hope it helps.
