Hi
Is it possible to export a client in Test mode in Basis 700 release?
Thanks for any pointers,
AbdulHi,
There is test run option available for remote & local client copy...in which you can find out without actually doing the client copy, how much space & time would be required...Also we can check this through 'respurce check' option also...
But in client export there is no such option to do test run...
Thanks & Regards,

Local Client Copy taking too much time
Hi All,
I recently done a system refresh of my Quality server (restore PRD backup to QUA Server)
After that I have created a new client and has initiated a local client copy after the test run
went successful.
Then after reading approximately 4500 table it has got stuck and I saw in SM50 that table "ACCTCR"
was running since approximately 56000 seconds.
Then I run the program 'BTCTRNS1" to clean the work processes.
After that I again restarted the local client copy in restart mode.
Now since last 3 hours I can see in SM50 that table u201CACCTCR" is being sequentially ready for approx 500(under Actions) seconds and then delete for 15 seconds (under actions).
I also found that table size is also not increasing as well as same table is being sequentially read for 500 sec and then deleted for 15 seconds (under Actions in sm50) and program is also same.
This is happening since last 3 hours now.
Under SCC3 I can see the status as processing reset.
Does anyone face this issue ever? And can anyone suggest is everything is running OK or there is
some problem.
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
PGHello,
Did you recalculate full DB statistics after the last system copy from PRD to QA ?
This is very often forgotten, leading to long elapse times in select statements.
Check via DB20 on table ACCTCR from when latest DB statistics date.
Eventually rebuild all indexes from ACCTCR, this can be done online via ABAP RSANAORA if you are running Oracle.
You can also perform an SQL trace on the current running process to see if the select from the client copy is running correctly.
I also know that ACCTCR is a table containing transactional data and most of the time it contains a lot of data.
II suppose you are running a client copy with profile SAP_ALL on QA based on a copy of PRD ?
This means that you will end up with 2 production clients in QA ?
Is your QA system sized for this ?
Another question that you can ask your client, is data from ACCTCR really needed on QA on both clients.
If not it is maybe better to start an archiving based on SAP Note :
Note 83076 - MM_ACCTIT: Archiving programs for ACCTIT, ACCTHD, ACCTCR
Followed by a new client copy.
Success.

Symptom
After you copied the BW System from one client to another, you execute program
RS_CLIENT_COPY_BW. The program terminates with the message that you are only
authorized to work in client ... (Brain 009). The specified client is the old client
which have just copied.
Additional key words
OLAP, Business Information Warehouse, Clientcopy
Cause and prerequisites
The problem is caused by a program error in program RS_CLIENT_COPY_BW.
Solution
Import Support Package 04 for BW2.0B (BW2.0B Support Package 04 or SAPKW20B04) into
your BW System. The Support Package is available as soon as Note 0213321 is released
for customers. It contains further information on Support Package 04 for BW2.0B.
Refer to Note 110934 which contains information on BW Support Packages.
Workaround:
The program has already determined that all number ranges have been copied correctly.
The program terminates during attempt to set the BW client correctly. You can set the
BW client yourself by executing function module RS_MANDT_UNIQUE_SET (Transaction
SE37). Enter the new client as value for parameter i_mandt. Make sure, that this
corresponds to the profile parameter login/system_client in your system.

As per your error it looks like that you are running client copy in dialog mode. If yes, run it in background or increase your work process run time.

Hi Guys,
We are planned to do client copy in testing every month, my question is what will happen to delta initiliazation.
Will delta init break between BI testing to ECC testing? We do client copy ECC prod to ECC testing.
Regards,
AnandHi There,
Yes, you may lose your deltas.
In fact, you may lose your deltas in production!
SAP recommends that that a BW - ECC combimation be copies as a unit.
The reason is that at a basis level, the systems know one another.
When the BW is copied, without the ECC system, two BW systems will try to use the same delta, causing 'inconsistancies"
I lost all my deltas in Production.
Get with your basis support, and make sure the understand

SWN_SELSEN not working in test client after client-copy
Hi all,
We are using extended notification without problem until test client was refreshed by client-copy from production client. In test client, report SWN_SELSEN did not generated notification even there are newly generated workflow items. Because of client-copy, I found that tables SWN_NOTIF, SWN_NOTIFTSTMP, SWN_SENDLOG, SWN_TIMESTAMPS are all empty in test client.
Please advise how to make report SWN_SELSEN back to work in test client. Thanks.
<< Additional information >>
(1) Run report SWN_SELSEN_TEST with test Case 5 - Simulate Send Only. After this, some entries were written to above tables. But test on new workflow item, the schedule report SWN_SELSEN still fail to trigger notification.
(2) Run report SWN_SELSEN_TEST with test Case 4 - Send One Message Only. It triggered notifications for all active workflow items and sent out several hundred emails including workflow item created in step 1. However, further test on new workflowitem, the schedule report SWN_SELSEN is still unable to trigger notification.
I think there may be something else missing, like the timestamp of delta. Please help.
Regards,
DonaldHello,
I've experienced a few cases where stopping SWN_SELSEN and then restarting it helped to fill up SWN_TIMESTAMPS with proper values. How does that table look after you run it?
What is SWN_SELSEN_TEST?
Chck in SLG1 to get an idea of why it's not working. You can also run SWN_SELSEN in the foreground and debug it to see exactly where and why it goes wrong. Also check ST22.

Remote client copy fails.
Remote client copy fails.
The error message and info is given below. Help me to proceed.
Client copy
The client copy you started has terminated
Client Copy could not start because of Repository differences
Diagnosis
The table definitions differ between the systems. These differences mean that a copy of the data can cause a data loss and system inconsistencies. Differences occur when further developments were not transported or were copied between different maintenance levels.
Procedure
Transport all the developments of table structures between the systems using the Transport Organizer and bring your system to the same development level.
It is observed that some tables are missing in the target system. How do I copy the table structures to the target system?
Thanks in advanceHello Ashraf,
There are repository differences between you source and traget system.
If you want to get the list of repository differences, then run a RFC check before you execute remote clinet copy.
You have to then remove these repository differences before you start with the remote client copy.
to remove the difference you have to:
"Transport all the developments of table structures between the systems using the Transport Organizer and bring your system to the same development level" as mentioned above
I would recommend you to go for Export / Import rather than Remote client copy.
There are several advantages of export import method over remote clinet copy

Extraction failing after source system and client copy
Hi all,
We refreshed our source QA system with a copy of production. And basically tried to "restore" the connection from our BW QA system. Some of the datasources can be extracted from BW, others fail with an error of "No transfer structure is available for InfoSource 0COSTCENTER_ATTR in the source system".
Trying to do the same thing with RSA3 in the source system, works fine.
The strange thing is it works for some objects but not others.
here's what we did:
1. System copy from R3 Prod to R3 QA
2. Client copy with R3 QA client 300 -> 200
3. Restore connectivity in BW QA to the R3 QA system (Using RSA1 -> Source System -> Restore)
4. Now some objects can be extracted in BW, others fail as I mentioned above.
I have regenerated the transfer structures in BW and R3.
All of these objects that don't work seem to work in RSA3 on the R3 system but not in RSA1 on BW.
All the SAP documentation is geared to copying the R3 source system and then restoring connectivity between BW and R3. I don't think any of it involves copying the client in the R3 source system - which might be causing our problems.
We are using an SAP delivered PDF and note 886102 mainly for direction.
SAP PDF is "How to... System Copy in SAP Business Intelligence System Landscapes".
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
KevinHi,
can you isolate somehow the kind of DataSource which works and those who don't?
Master data / transactional or client dependent and not, delta or full....
To which R/3 client is your BW connected? when you succeed loading the data, is it coming from the right client?
RSA3: do you run it specifying your BW client in the target sys field? does it make a difference if yes or if not?
Are your RFC connections and partner profiles all right?
Check some IDOCs sent by BW received in R/3 and vice-versa (RSSEND, RSINFO, RSRQST..). Load a hierarchy (via IDOC)... verify that your IDOC have the correct partner settings....
let us know
Olivier.

Best regardsThe problem you have is, that your TEMP tablespace is too small on the target system, you need to increase it.

Local client copy of 000 after installation fails
I'm trying to install XI. I installed Web AS 6.40 (from the SR1 installation) ABAP stack. Before installing the Java Add-In I need to make a copy of client 000. I login using client 000 and SAP*, goto SCCL and without even getting to the transaction I get the following error message:
"Target client is prodductive and protected against client copy."
(It's message no. TA133) -- I got into SCC4 (like help suggested) and the only users I have are 000 and 066 ("Test EarlyWatch Profiles"). 000 is set to "SAP Reference", not "Productive".
The thing is I never even get to enter the target client; I never get to enter anything in the transaction, it throws me out immediatly.
I managed to get a step further by following these steps:
1. Using SCC4 I created a copy 000 (001)
2. Logged out from 000
3. Logged in using 001 and SAP*/PASS
4. Went to SCC4, deleted the 001 entry and saved (if I don't delete it I get the same error as before)
Then when I went to SCCL (while still logged in with the deleted 001 client) I got the transaction. It put 001 as the target (which is fine by me), I selected a copy profile but and selected 000 as the source -- but when I tried to execute I got the same problem as before.
(I'm sure it's apparent that the whole ABAP world is new to me this is just me trying to install an XI test system in the office.)
What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Alon.hi alon,
what do you mean with 1) (copy 000 to 001)?
just create a new client in SCC4, make sure that the parameter "client role" isn't set to "productive".
log on as sap*/pass in the new client and use SCCL to make a copy.

Steps should be taken to make a client copy say from dev to test using BDLS
Some one help to write up on real situation at any client site...by BASIS group
for SRM box..
Say client num in Dev is 100
and we want to copy all that to a test box where the client number is 101...
initially client 100 SRM box is pointing to R/3 say dev box 201
the new R/3 box is 202. And we have to point the 101 to 202. So I am just wondering the steps
taken by BASIS group to build the test env. 101 ---> 202Hello,
we had experienced some problems during client copy with SRM in our earlier project.
I am not a basis guy but i can give you some hint for yr situation:
- Copy R/3 client 101 to 202 with the profile SAP_ALL
- change the SID with BDLS
- Copy SRM client 100 to 101 with the profile SAP_CUST
- change the SID with BDLS
- Now download the masterdata from R/3 to SRM
SRM client should never be copied with SAP_ALL profile because ,if done so the logical system for product masters is copied that of old client.
This creates total chaos and nothing works.
