Client copy of master data alone maynot possible. I mean even if you use SAP_APPL even then transactional data will also get migrated. So I would suggest of sending the data through ALE (idocs).
We do it on large scale regularily.
But still please wait for opinion from others. May be they might have a better solution.

You can Copy all the customizing data from one client to another client using clent copy(SCC1). Ie, data stored in a customizing request.

Copy only master data

Dear All,
Is it possible to copy only master data using TDMS Client Cpoy.
In TDMS there is a pack called ERP Initial Pack for Master data & Customizing, but is there any chance to copy only Master Data by skipping Customizing.

Create Client copy only with Master data

hi friends,
we are going for SAP Re-Implementation.
we want client copy only with master data without having transactional data
Is it possible to copy the master data from production to production.
can we transfer the data using ALE/I DOCS...?
Is there is any standard BAPI to transfer data across client....?
if there is any solution please give me guidance.
i have searched in SDN and SAP technical but i can't find the proper solution.

1) Make a client copy ready 2) Use Idoc and moved the master data. I am not sure how much data it is.We did the same before.

Client copy without tranasactional data

We are performing a local client copy from client 321 to 330. We need only Master data and Customizing but not Transactional data. Do we need to use the profile SAP_UCUS?? or any other profile?

Client copy Only data

   We have a copy of production client in Quality system.
   This client copy was done few months back, can we update the client in quality with the data which was updated in production after the client copy.
Or will I have to do entire client copy again.
How much data will be copied in this is there any way to find.

Parvez,
                  Goto SE38 and enter RSTABLESIZE then execute, there you select client XXX and select tables * then save it it will ask for variant. Give a variant name like var1, and description. agin save it.
Go to SM36 and create a new job(with some name) and select RSTABLESIZE in the next tabs select variant as var1. If you select new job to start immediately it will start immediately, you can check in SM37, after completion goto the corresponding spool request and in which you will find the size.

Client copy with configuration data in R/3. Is there any effect on EBP sys

We are using classic scenario. Our client is reorganizing their Org structure for that we need to do client copy with only configuration data.
In this scenario we are uploading the master and transactional data through ALE in order to retain the same number ranges and the same data in EBP system.
My doubt is when we do config steps Define logical system and assign the logical system to the client and define Idoc message types etc... Is it necessary to run BBP_LOCATIONS_GET_ALL job. If yes the same data like Plant and storage location and all master data will override the existing data or not. And what about the open Purchase orders and open goods receipts.
Can you please reply immediately. It is very urgent.

FM to copy material master data

Hi there
I am looking for an FM where i can copy existing material master data to a new one. In my case the material is a material variant and therefore i also want to copy the characteritic values of this variant. While copying i want to change some of the characeristic values of my oroginal material master, so that the only difference to the new material variant are characteritic values. All other date (sales, plant and so on) can be the same

If you want to copy the properties of material A to material B
first copy the FM
goto se37>Press cntrl+f5>enter the from and to FM and FG and press ok.

Copy Inventory Master Data to another Item Number

For the new database setup, I would like to copy from one Item Master Data (all tab details) to another Item Number to save time. Then just edit few fields only. How can I do it?

If there is provision of changing the item codes then you can try the import from Excel option also. As changing the item codes in an excel list will be much easier than opening each master data and changing the codes.
Try this-
1. Go to the test database where you create the test items.
2. Open the item master data in the find mode and open the search list.
3. With the f=Form Settings just make those columns visible which you want to import.
for ex in a DB i have some items, I wnt to import the to other, only the item code, item descrption and the manufactures. then i open the search list and only make these columns visible.
4. Now export this list to excel
5. Now change the iem codes of the desired in the excel format.
5. Save it as a txt file and import through the "Import From Excel Option"
Administration> Data Import/Export> Data Import> Import from Excel

If I have understand your point, then you want to change the setting of the infopackages that includes in the Process chain pertaining to the master date.
Then you can change the settings directly in the processing tab.
Or if you don't want to change the settings of the IP s that are in the Process chain,then go to RSA1 >> Select those IP s >> rigt click and copy it.Then you can change the settings there.
You can run each IP manually.Or if you want the same chain just with the changed settings,then copy the chain and put this new IP in place of the old one and schedule the chain.
If your doubts are cleared then kindly assign me some points.

Copy Material Master data - cannot copy "Proportion/Prod.Unit" view

When I try to create material master data using the "Copy from..." option, data from the "Proportion/Prod.Unit" view is not copied to the new material. We are using SAP for Mill products.

There are two things, which have to be done :
The first thing of course is, that for the field MARA-KZWSM the field
"Propose Field Content from the Reference" must be set in transaction
OMSR.
The second is, that the user have to enter this screen, because if he
don't display this screen, then it is technically not possible to
copy the reference values.
(To copy this data from the reference material you have to go to the
subscreen SAPLMWSM 8030 and press enter).

Copy GL Master Data to Other Company Codes

I am trying to us FS15 to send GL Master Data over to other company codes (65 total) but it seems to do it one cocd at a time even though I specify all of them through either ranges or by manually selecting the ones I want. Does anyone know if FS15 allows for mass updates to multiple cocds and if so what I may be doing wrong? Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks.

Please do not click on "Update File immediately" instead use batch input session.

Transaction data tobe separated from master data&customising in client copy

HI Guys,
In my present server i have Transaction data, Master data & Customizing data. Through client copy only Master data & Customizing should be copied in new client. Transaction Data should not be copied to new client. This is not possible through any of the given profiles for copy.
or can we delete all transaction data in present server?

With SAP_CUST i won't get the Master Data to the copied client. It will only provide Customization.

how can copy only master datas, i.e customer, vendor, and g/l master data, from one client to another client.what is t-coed,

T-code (I guess this is what you mean) is probably a shortening to Transaction code, ie. the code that you write on the top left blank field of your SAP screen to execute a transaction (a function). eg. FB60 is the t-code to record an FI vendor invoice.
