  • Create a new Client Copy Profil

    Hi,
is there a standard application to add a individual client copy profil to table CCPROF ?
Reason: The client copy via TDMS does not copy the report variants ( note 1159279 ). So I would like to transfer only variants with SCCL or SCC9. The ABAP RSTRANSP creates a transport order with ABAP variants but ignores variants of queries.

    I don't think so.
    About the variants read,

  • Local client copy profile SAP_CUSV: Configuration not working

    Dear Experts,
My configuration client is 350 and my new client is 100 in same DEV system. Client 100 is copied from client 000 with profile SAP_ALL. Then I created a local copy from 350 using profile SAP_CUSV into same client 100. After that I am facing issues under HCM module. All the HCM configuration that works well in 350 does not work in client 100 even the standard header configuration of PA30 does not work. All the customizing entries are however present in HCM configuration tables but system seems not to read anything from HCM configuration. Apart from screen headers, the configuration done by consultant also has conflicts and system shows an error to maintain entries in tables which are already maintained and visible in configuration tables in 100. An example of error in which system gives error of maintaining Payscale Type and Payscale Area in table T510 is attached where as the entries are maintained in given table.
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
    Please check the following notes.
1946003 - Client copy completed with Dictionary error
1171306 - Error with pooled tables when copying a client
686357 - Table pool has incorrect length following Unicode conversion

    Dear Tushar
    Please check this note 24853

  • Role of copy profiles in client copy.

    Hi All,
Can anybody give the idea regarding the role & importance of copy profiles in Cilent copy..
    Regards
    Srinivas K

    Hi,
The client copy profile is the one which decides the kind of data that is going to get copied to the new client.
So choosing a profile depends on the kind of activity or the purpose for which the new client is been created. Ex :Training client ,testing etc.
For this we need to know the requirment clearly for what the requster is going to use the client accordingly choose the right profile to copy the client.
If we have good undersatnding of end users work then Basis persons can come up with a profile to be used in a client copy.
So classification of data plays important role in choosing a copy profile.Like Application data,Customizing data,User master data etc.
And also client depedent or independent data...
And for more details you can go through the above link provided by Deepu.
As far I know we can not copy the application data alone as it dependents on the customizing .
So we need to copy both of them together if we need application data.
Secondly we have be more careful if we are opting for a cross client customizing as this is going to impact not only the target client but also other clients in the system.

  • Audit Issue in QA after system restore and client copy

    Hi Experts,
We have an audit issue and need your advise on that.
Our QA system was audited and auditors were looking for the approval tickets on which a user was created. I found that several users that were not created in QA and do not even exist in QA have their change logs in QA showing that user was created.
I researched it and found the steps that Basis and DBA's do when creating a new QA client.
    1. Basis export user master and authorizations using SAP_USER profile from the target QA environment.
    2. Then DBA's restore the QA Environment from the Production Backup.
    3. Basis import back the preserved User master and roles using SAP_USER profile.
But when reading about this profile, I came to understand that change documents ( USH* ) tables are not exported and imported back. So that is why we have change logs in our QA from Production system.
So my question is how to solve this issue, where Auditors look at the change documents in QA and ask for the documentation though in reality these change documents are coming from Production. Should we ask for DBA team to truncate USH tables or is there a client copy profile that saves the change logs that we can export and import back.

    Hi,
as you know the USH* tables belong to delivery class L. The tables in this class are never copied during client copy but you don't do client copy. Idea of deleting records from L tables after backup restore does not sound good because you will loose all data. As a workaround you could backup content of tables with delivery class L, export users SAP_USER, restore production backup, import users and import backup for tables with delivery class L. There is around 5000 L tables in ECC. Another approach could be to restore production on different box and do proper client copy to QA system.
    Cheers

  • Client Copy - Which source client 000 or 001?

I have a new SAP Netweaver 2004s SR1 ABAP+JAVA system with the following usage types:
    SRM App
    SRMLac
    AS Java
    AS ABAP
    DI
    MI
All the post-installation steps have been completed (including the CTC template configurations for DI and MI). The Java, DI, and MI have been configured against client 001. Now I want to create a new production client. The J2EE_ADMIN and users associated with DI and MI exist in client 001.
I want to create a new production client 010. Should I copy the users (SAP_USER) from client 001 and the customizing data (SAP_CUST) from client 000? Or, can I copy everything from client 001?  There is a lot of conflicting information in the SAP Notes in regard to which source client to use.

You should not use a transport of copies for table USR02. Use client copy profile SAP_USER or SAP_UONL (without authorization profiles and roles).
And you should never copy customizing from client 001 to build up a new client. 001 happens to be a ordinary customer client which does not get supplied with changes SAP delivers after the release date. New SAP Netweaver 2004s installations use client 001 to file the user masters needed for the JAVA part. But this does not change the fact that client 001 is a customer client and should not be used as a template.
For local client copies you could use copy profile SAP_UCUS with source client 000 and source client user master 001 in one step. This has the same result as a client copy with SAP_CUST from 000 and SAP_UONL from 001 (i.e. thet authorization profiles and roles come from 000, when you need them from 001 you can either copy the missing individually or use SAP_ PROF in a separate step).

  • Document archived on PRD visible on QAS after a client copy to QAS system

We performed archiving on productive system. We plan to make a client copy to QAS system(sap_all profile)
    The system is version 4.7x2(oracle/unix)
We wander if we adjust the archiving paths on QAS system will the archives be visible?
This is also question of archiving infostructures for which I do not know wheter they are client dependent.
Beside only on 4.7 system I noticed a remote client copy profile sap_all with cross client customizing (is this better procedure)

    Hi Tina,
What we do for accessing archive files in our QA system that had been archived in production is to do a "Retrieve file" in prod for a sampling of files and then FTP the files to the QA archiving file system.  Then, go into the Archive Adminstration information and change the File name to "RETREIVED_xxxx" and the Logical path to your designated path name such as ARCHIVE_GLOBAL_PATH_WITH_ARCHIVE_LINK
Once the QA system can see the archive file, the archive information structures will be able to access the data.  You would not need to change anything there.
We do it this way so that we can archive new data in the QA system without being concerned about QA archive files being sent to the production archive server.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Client copy difference

    Hi everybody
Can anybody tell me the difference Between Remote client copy and Client Export /import copy.
when working in Real time which Client copy  do you prefer and why ?

    Hi,
A remote client copy is copying the client across diferent systems. It needs a dedicated RFC from one system/client to another. This is done in txn SCC9.
    A client transport is a two-step approach:
    1. A client is exported from the source in a number of transport requests depending on the client copy profile you choose. You can do this in txn SCC8.
    2. The client is then imported into the target system- by importing the change requests via STMS. Followed by pos-processing in txn SCC7.
Now, the type of method you would choose - will depend on the following considerations:
    1. If you want to replicate and keep the client information for ever,so that you can create a new client whenever you want - use the client transport, as beacause you can keep the change requests forever and create a client wherever you feel.
    2. Client transport usually takes less time and hits the performance less compared to remote client copy.
    3. As far as the users in source and target clients are concerned  during remote client copy it is recommended that users shouldn't work in both target and source. However, using the client transport, it can be split across the two client during the export and then the import.
    4. Remote client copy needs a dedicated RFC connection between the two systems/client. However, client transport doesnt need it.
For further details and recommendations please have a look at the SAP Notes - 557132, 24853, 89188 and 70547.

  • Client copy using SAP_CUST profile

    Hi
I have a requirement to copy the Production client (customization only) to Dev-100 customization client (Already existing with customization). Since the production system is having the latest customization settings,my func team wants to copy the production system customization to Dev customization client.
My system config (SAP R/3 4.6C, Oracle 8i, HP UX 11i)
Requirement: PRD 500 --> DEV 100 (Client copy using SAP_CUST)
I have planned the activity as below,
    1. Create a backup client in Dev system ... Dev 110 as a copy of Dev100 (Perform a SCCL with SAP_ALL profile of DEV 100)
    2. Export SAP_CUST from PRD 500
    3. Del Dev100 and import 500 to Dev 100
    My doubt is,
    1. Whether it is mandatory to delete Dev client 100 before importing PRD client 500?
    2. If we import the PRD client in to Dev without deleting, will the data consistency be maintained? ( Profile is SAP_CUST)
    3. How long will be the export and import of SAP_CUST will run on an average(Any ways to find the number of tables that get exported when we use SAP_CUST profile?)
    4. Any post import activity to be performed after SAP_CUST import?
Please share your experience on this regard. Also, please clarify whether my approach to the requirement is correct or not.
    regards,
    Vinodh.

    Hi Vinod,
    1. No need to delete client 100 in Dev system. If you copy SAP_CUST profile from PRD system the Production Only customising data will be over written by existing data in DEV.
2.Data cpnsistency will  be maintained and you can monitor the entire process using SCC3. Here you can monitor how many table copied and how much % of data copied.
    3. As pawan said Please lock all users in DEV system except your user as apreinstallation activity and start client copy. Once you done with that Unlock all users and SGEN to generate nulily created object and to increase system performance.
    4. The time take for complition will be depend on you data you are coping.
Before start Client copy follow pre requisites and start.

  • SAP_ALL & SAP_NEW profiles not available in new client after client copy

I am setting up a BI Client and have been following some documentation to do this downloaded from SDN. In the process, i created my client 'client 200' assigned to a logical system then doing client copy from 'client 000' using transaction SCCL. There is a step when i now have to create a user in the new client (client 200 ) where i am supposed to assign the user to profiles SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. Unfortunately these are not available in my newly set client but in 'client 000' they are available.
Did i make some error in the client copy process or i still need to do something to have the profiles in 'client 200'. Please assist.

There is no issue in rerunning the Client Copy.
But please check what mistake you made in the first one.
    Here are the steps.
    Create an entry in SCC4.
    RZ10 modify parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar=0
Check that you have enouf background and dialog processes.
    Restart the sap system
then login with SAP* in the Client you made.
Run Sccl and give the Profile SAP_All
Select the source Client as 000
and Source Client user Master as 001
Check tthat you dont select the check box of TEST MODE.
    and schedule in backgreond.

  • Profile for Client Copy

    Hi all,
I have to do a local client copy but i am confused as to what profile to be used. we have two clients 200 & 210 with master data in both. now we want to overwrite 200 client with the config, user-profiles and all but no master data of 210 so that 200 will be cleaned as  far as Master data is concerned and we can upload new Master data. but it shouldn't be overwritten by 20 Master data. Can you please help me with what profile to use? Is SAP_UCUS ok? or do i need to choose some other profile?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
    Taking into account that:
Application Data = Master Data + Transaction Data
And that you can not copy Application data without transaction data using client copy, maybe you can to either create a production client (SCCL) or take a export of client (SCC8) before creating transaction data .You can
either use SAP_ALL or SAP_APPL profile for this. See the notes 24853 and 19574 about it..
Nevertheless, It seems to me you want to copy customizing but not application data so best option is probably SAP_CUST.
    SAP_CUST
Client-dependent Customizing, including authorization profiles, are
copied. The application data is deleted and the user data is retained.
    User Data -> NO
    Customizing -> YES
    Application Data -> No (deleted)
    SAP_UCUS
Corresponds to SAP_CUST with user master data.
    User Data -> YES
    Customizing -> YES
    Application Data -> No (deleted)\

  • Client Copy and Partner Profiles

    Hi,
I have a doubt related to client copy and how it will affect the partner profiles.
We have a client which has quite a lot of partner profiles defined in it. Now the problem is that the Basis team is planning to perform periodic client copies on this System which will copy the data from another client say 010 to the client in discussion. My doubt is, when this happens what will happen to the partner profiles that are already there in the target? Will it be lost resulting in we creating it all over again? if so is there anyway to get around this issue?
I would appreciate any kind of input on this issue.
    Thanks
    Praveen

as far as i know a client copy is based on some parameter say it can be client copy based on master data, client copy based on application data etc. I guess partner profile is an application data so in tht case if client copy is done in its context no data will be lost.
just my thought, but please confirm on this with a BASIS team or try a post in the forum for Adminstration and BASIS.

Today I am going to do remote client copy from PRD to QAS.
For it yesterday i scheduled Test run in simulation mode.As i am having two CPU for both Dev and PRD so I scheduled it with 6 Parallel Processes.
But my Test run failed with errors:

    Hello Shivam
How is your remote copy going on?
Did you increase the size of psap temp in order to carryon with the copy?
Your Source system is PRD system. Are you doing this copy while  users are using the PRD system.
If not then  this may not  be  result of client copy? or
if no user is logged in in your PRD system,You have to decide if this is due to client copy.
Let me know what  corrective measure taken by you to completed the remote client copy?
normally we dont get this dump in the source system but I have  psaptemp around 30 GB or more in al my systems so may be this might have not surfaced in my environment.
    Thanks
    Amit
