Client deletion and reorganise

Is there any impacts to delete client with scc5 and T000 values? i want to delete 8 clients at a time from my test system. how can i reorganize database? can i delete directly with scc5 or any thing i could do? can i delete logical systems and rfc connections before going to delete clients? how can i delete these clients without side effects.
Thanks.

Client deletion should not be an issue,u can do it with SCC5 just delete all the RFC's and logical connections prior deleting them.there are no sideeffects as such
use this method:
log into the client to delete
2. go into SCC5 and delete client
3. log into another client and delete entry with SCC4
u cal also delete the client from database but this is better option, use it
for database reorganization you can use BRTOOLS i.e BRSAPCE

  • Client Delete and Logical System and CUA

I'm getting ready to do some client clean up in prep for an upgrade from ECC 5 to ECC 6 soon.
    Currently we have a 3 system landscape: DV1 QA1 PR1
Clients on these systems are as follows: (not including 000, 001, 066)
    PR1:100 - the production client
QA1:100 - Integration Master - not used except for RFC connections for Solution Manager
    QA1:110 - Cycle 1 testing - not used
    QA1:120 - Cycle 2 testing - not used
QA1:200 - Old training master client - not used
QA1:201 - Old training client - not used
QA1:710 - no longer being used for testing
QA1:720 - client used for system and integration testing
    DV1:100 - Configuration - not used
    DV1:110 - ABAP development
    DV1:120 - Configuration
DV1:700 - Template for test - not used
DV1:710 - Test with prod data
Most have a logical system defined for the client.
I am going to delete those I've underlined above as they are no longer used.
Some of these are setup in the CUA system.
All are showing up in Solution Manager SMSY system landscape.
My plan is to backup the system database first!
    Then:
    1) Delete the client(s) (SCC5) one by one
    2) Remove the client from CUA (SCUA)
    3) Remove the logical name (SALE)
What I am unsure about is the order of the process.  Should the CUA and ALE modifications come before actually deleting the client?
Does this sound like a reasonable plan to clean up our client landscape?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.
    Laurie McGinley

    Dear Laurie,
    Order should be like below:
    1) Remove the client from CUA (SCUA)
    2) Delete the client(s) (SCC5) one by one
    3) Remove the logical name (SALE)
More over you should delete these clients from Solution Manager also inorder not to have error message when you go to solution Manager for doing anything on that system.
Please revert back for any queries.

  • Client deletion taking long time....

    Hi All,
I have been going through tough times in SAP ECC right now.
I am doing a client deletion using SCC5. Total entries in tables were 58514.
It was going fine till it reached 58504. From then onwards, the tables SAP is deleting are having crores of entries, which is why it is taking time.
My question here is, Is their any way by which we can delete the entries fast?
Like from Database level. Database iam having is Oracle. Can we run any sql delete command to delete entries from backend while SAP client deletion is in progress.
Its been 3 days since i have started client deletion and it is very frustrating now.
Could anyone of you please help me with this?

    Hi,
Thank u all for helping me out....
Well i am done with Client deletion....I deleted the entries from SQL level.
My client deletion is completed but with dictionary errors.
There are around 3-4 tables in which maximum of 100 entries are still remaining.
Now my doubt is whether i should go ahead with client copy or not?
If yes, please assist me with steps before starting copy, so that it doesnot take much time similar to client deletion (6 days)..
    Regards,
    Vikram

  • Table space and recollection of released space after client deletion

    Dear All,
    I have two questions:
1.Can any1 tell me how to determine the fastest growing table and how to reorganize table space.
    2. Is there any way by which we can recollect the space released:say after client deletion. I had deleted one client two  weeks back and when I saw the SAP/user drive I fow free space available remains the same.
I searched but found no relevant clue.
    regards,
    Ashutosh

1.- You can see the largest table report in ST04 (as far as i remember)...
2.- You can reorganize your db using brtools - brspace...

  • Stop and Resume client deletion

    Hi all,
I have a strange requirement here, I am planning to execute client deletion using parallel processing.  I will be executing the deletion during weekends Saturday & Sunday. In case, if the deletion still continue on Monday morining, I want to cancel the deletion ( Logically STOP) and resume in next weekend..
Since, client deletion will resume from the point where it stopped, i would like to know the standard procedure of cancelling the deletion job. Does SCC5 or SCC3 provides any option to STOP the active jobs? If not, which is the correct way to stop the active deletion process?
Please share your experience & thoughts on this line.
    regards,
    VInodh.

    Hi Vinodh,
Set a background job for client deletion using transaction SCC5 and stop the active job when you want to....using SM37>Job>Cancel active job ....At this time the client is almost completely deleted. If you need to, you can restart the deletion. Because the users must have been deleted at this point, log on as user SAP* and use the initial password PASS and continue with client deletion.
    Award points accordingly,
    Regards,
    Raju.

  • Logical Delete and Relationships

    Hello,
My client has a requirement where all deletes must be logical (set activeFlag = 'N').
For queries, I can set selection criteria to filer out inactive rows.
I need to be able to do the same for relationships, 1-1, 1-M, and M-M. That is, make Toplink ignore relationship targets with activeFlag ='N'.
So far I have determined that I need to amend the descriptors at run-time using a static Java method. Is this the only way to do this? Can I amend the delete, select, insert for all three types of relationships? Could you point me to an example on how to accomplish this?
    Thanks.

You can use descriptor additional join expressions, mapping selection criterias, and mapping custom queries. All of these are fairly advanced features, so currently support for them is only provided through the code API, you will need to use descriptor amendment methods from the Mapping Workbench. Refer to the similar thread for more information on these.
    "Hiding" records with delete status
For amending the deletes you should be able to customize the descriptor's delete SQL to instead do an update. The only mapping that will delete itself is the m-m mapping which you can customize the mapping's insert, delete and read SQL.

  • Client Copy and System Restore query

    Dear All,
I have few major doubt regarding client copy and system restor.
    1. In my Quality system there are 2 clients: 100 and 200.In my PRD there is only 1 client 300(other than the standard default clients). My doubt is during remote client copy with SAP_ALL profile from PRD to QUA why the space increases only in MB.
I have been asked the same question by my management. They are saying PRD is 300GB and QUA is 220GB then why the space increases in MB though all data is copied in client 200(QUA) from client300(PRD)
    2. If I delete client why the space is released in MB. Because according to them it should be in GBs.
    3. Now my third query is I have to restore PRD backup in QUA.So I said that this requires same <SID> and Same sapce in the sapdatafiles(OS is HP-UX 11.31 and DB is Oracle 10g).So I have to explain them why these two things are contradary to each other. In case of client copy space required is only in MB and in case of System restore of PRD in QUA sapce require is in GBs.
Your suggestions will be highly obliged.
    Regards,
    PG

Response > Because during client copy your customizing and other objects are copied.
The database structures, tables etc are already present.
    2. If I delete client why the space is released in MB. Because according to them it should be in GBs.
Response > Since client deletion is not same as deleting database /customizing tables .If you delete complete dataspaces/tables then there will be sizeable difference.Similar logic as Response 1

  • Symbol in browser: delete and change

    Hello,
could you help me please ?
I want to change or delete the symbol to my folder but when I do a right clic, I can't delete the symbol or change it by an other symbol (that I want).
Do you know how change or delete the symbol please ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
I think your best bet would be settle on a fixed uniform size for all images (you can pad the images with transparent pixels so the variety of shapes I see on you site can still be preserved).
As for letting your client delete images, here's what you need to do (one-time setup)
    1. Go to http://jonesy01.businesscatalyst.com/Admin and sign in
    2. Go to Site Settings > User Roles  (accessed via the panel on the left)
    3. Select Action Edit for Users
    4. In the Permissions tab, select Can use SFTP & File Manager in the left panel and move it to the right panel
Here's what the client can now do:
    [One-time setup]
    1. Go to http://jonesy01.businesscatalyst.com/Admin and sign in
    2. Hover over his/her name (top right) and select My Details from the pop-up menu
    3. In the details page, check Enable online content editing and save (this option is designated 'incompatible with Muse', but is safe to use if all the client does is delete unused images)
    4. A new Develop tab will now appear.
    To delete images:
    1. Click the Develop tab
    2. From the standard file Explorer/Finder-like view, select an unused image (in the images folder) and use the trash icon to delete it.
    Hope this helps,

  • Delete and recreate in MD01

    Hi,
When I run MRP in MD02 for a finished material with Planning mode=3 , system is deleting existing Stock transfer PR and re creating Stock Transfer PR.But when I run in MD01 with Planning mode=3 , system is not deleting existing Stock transfer PR  and not re creating a new one. Old one is retained!!
Why delete and recreate is not working in case of MD01??. Pls help
    Regards.

    PP,
    1. How to decide whether to create a planning file entry in MD20, and then run in NETCH OR ELSE directly run with NEUPL?
That depends upon what you are trying to accomplish, and what your business requirements are.  Planning file entries are generally created automatically, so creating one manually seldom has to be done on a day to day basis.  NEUPL has the disadvantage that it consumes considerably greater amount of processing power than any Net change mode.  You have to decide what you want, and what you are willing to spend to get it.
    2. If I tell to my client to use NEUPL in MD01, then whats the difference wrt NETCH
I hope you are not saying that you don't know the difference between regenerative MRP and Net Change MRP.  If this is the case, I suggest you do some homework.  Start with

  • Client Deletion Takes long time

    Hi All,
Need help, Every month in our quality system we do client refresh so we delete existing data from quality and take export from production and Import into quality.Client Import takes 15 hrs but to delete client  it almost takes 36 hrs. There are PCL4/2/1 tables which takes more time to delete the data even not sure they will delete all the data.Looks like these are cluster tables so what can be do to have more optimize client deletion.
To delete client from OS level is is safer side?  What can be other ways...?

    Hi
PCL4 is not a cluster, at least on Ehp6 at DB level it is a transparent table, that means that the table does exist at both SAP & DB level.
There is a way to process deletion faster, at least for Oracle (but it could also work for other DB)
Create a new temporary table table with a CTAS command (copy table as select) to only include the data for the clients you want to keep.
You can then drop the original table and rename the temporary table to the original name.
Watch out CTAS does not copy indexes, constraints and default values.
If you are using Oracle DB datapump query parameter can be the best option.
You could export the data for the client you want to keep (setting a "query" option like query=" where MANDT in ('200', '300')") , truncate the table and import back the data.
The point here is that copying / inserting new records is faster than deleting.

  • Delete and Commit

    Hello,
I drag and dropped delete operation and commit on top of the delete button(bind to existing button) However delete is disabled always.
How can I acheive delete and commit in button?
    Thanks in advance

    The simplest way is to:
    (1) Create a custom method on your application module
    (2) Publish that method on the application module's client interface
    (3) Drop the custom method as a button onto your form.
When you click the button created in step 3, it invokes the code in your application module method automatically.
Assuming you are wanting to delete the current row from a view object instance named "EmpView" in your application module's data model, your method would look like this:
    public void deleteCurrentEmpAndCommit() {
      Row empRow = getEmpView().getCurrentRow();
      if (empRow != null) {
        empRow.remove();
        getDBTransaction().commit();
}I believe you requested a pre-release of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers from me. The steps to create and publish custom methods on an application module are covered in sections:
8.3, "Adding a Custom Service Method"
8.4,"Publishing Custom Service Methods to Clients"
10.3.3, "How the Data Model and Service Methods Appear in the Data Control Palette"

  • Can I get password for client 000 and user SAP*

    Hi Experts,
Can get ur help for getting password for User SAP* for client 000 i.e SAP std. client.
    please it's urgent.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Yogesh

    Hi ,
<b>If all the users are locked, they can be unlocked by</b>
a)Try this command at ur sql plus query level
    Go to cmd prompt.
    Sqlplus /nolog
    conn /as sysdba
this will take you to the sqlprompt.
Just execute the earlier commands there.
sqlplus><b>UPDATE SAP<schema>.usr02 set uflag=0 where mandt=<CLNT NO> and uflag=64;</b> this statement actually unlocks the users of that particular client. So, try for every client in that sap system.
    b) You can delete sap* user
    Go to cmd prompt.
    Sqlplus /nolog
    conn /as sysdba
    sqlplus><b>DELETE SAP<SID>.usr02 where mandt='CLIENT.NO' and bname=SAP*;</b>
    <b>Note:-
After doing this restart the system. So, that a new user with the name "sap" gets generated with password "pass". Provided the parameter is set login/no_automatic_user_sapstar= 0 (Automatic user SAP is permitted).</b>

  • Client deletion good practices

    Good morning everyone,
I am after "best practices" when deleting a client.
I am not planning on re-using some of the deleted clients and want to make sure the landscape is cleaned up where possible with reference to these clients.
I am especially after anything that would take up space at the OS or database level that would not necessarly be cleaned up via SCC5.
Has anyone got recomendations on what can and should be cleaned up before and after a client deletion?
For example I have cleaned up WE20-WE21, the RFC...
The logs are still there under SCC3, usefull for historical purposes, but really should they been retained?
    Thank you
    Coco

    Hello
You need to clean up all client dependent transport request Also you need to clean up the queues which are client dependent
    thanks

  • Client Deletion, Transaction log getting full.

    Hi Gurus,
We are trying to delete a client by running:
    clientremove
client = 200 (*200 being the client we want to remove)
    select *
The transaction log disk space allocated is 50GB, it is getting full (in simple mode) and client deletion never completes. The size of the table it is accessing is 86 GB, and i think 200 client will be occupying around 40-45GB. Client 200 has 15.5 million rows in the table.
I am i giving proper command ?is there any explicit commit  i can include or any  workaround for deleting the client and not hammer the log file.
    Thanks guys
    Edited by: SAP_SQLDBA on Jan 22, 2010 6:51 PM

    Hi,
Backup the active transaction log file and Shrink the file directly.
Please refer the following SAP Notes to get more information.
[  Note 625546 - Size of transaction log file is too big|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=625546]

Which version of SQL Server u are using ? SP Level ?
Frequently perform Transaction Log backup (BACKUP TRANS) to remove inactive space within the Transaction Log Files.

  • Space Reorganization after client delete.

    Hi Gurus,
I have a doubt in reorganization of  space after client delete.
I have created a client and the client copy(local) was done successful. Now i want to delete the client and want to clear  the space occupied by  the new client (approx 2 GB) . Can u help me how to empty the space occupied by this client.
         My environment..IDES 4.7 . Win 2k. Oracle database.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sachin.

    Hi
    Sachin.
Inorder to delete the client login to the particular client say like ex: 300
execute from the functions or SCC5.
Select if u want to delete it from the entry of table T000, schedule it immediately or background, Whenever it is deleted the space is not automatically freed from the database although these areas can be filled up with new data.
When a client is deleted and created again, the space which is freed can be filled up with new data.
To immediately restore the free space perform the database reorganization, this is recommended when ur client is having a large amount of database.
For ur case the client is of size 2GB,  the new data can reuse the free space of the deleted  client,
Checking the space management, current sizes, space statistics etc., Goto the Database performance or Tcode DB02 check the Date/Time analysis when it has done, Else do refresh so that a dialog box is opened and prompts u to select
    1. Perform the database checks
    2. DB checks and update statistics
Select the 2 option so that it will reorganize the database.
