What are the settings for the "Default Client Settings"? I changed them instead of creating a new policy and would like to fix that.

  • Client Settings for SM 4.0

    Hi Experts,
Can any one explain the client settings in Single SM land scape.
My solman is prompting for Transport Request while I do some SPRO settings.
What is standard client setting for single solman client.
    Thanks
    Samba

    Hi Kata,
if you only have one SM client, you can change the client settings in SCC4 so as the system will not ask you for transport requests.
nevertheless, depending the number of people involed in working on the seetings of SOLAMN, i would recommend to set up the transport requests, just for the sake of keeping  a better control of what is being modified, although these transport requests won´t be transported to any other system and/or client.
In my case, I have only one SOLMAN system, with only one working client. The majority of the SOLMAN customizing has been performed without having to store the information in transport requests although I have in SE06 the system set as modifiable, and in SCC4.
automatic recording of changes for client dependent objects
and "Changes to Repository and cross-client Customizing " option set in Cross-Client Object Changes.
This setting is not prompting for change requests when setting up SMSY (for example), but obligues me to register in transport changes any OSS Note which I have had to apply with SNOTE in order to avoid bugs. And this is very useful, becasue I know exactly how many OSS Notes and which ones I had to apply and when (although I won´t transport it anywhere).
    Hope this helps

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

  • Client Settings

    Hi,
I have a Default Client Settings and a Custom Device Client Settings.
Custom Device Client Settings is deployed only to a collection named "test" and default client setting is not deployed to any collections at all. I enabled hardware inventory in Custom Device Client Settings to see some reports regarding installed
Programs on computers which are in test collection. I was expecting to see computers only from test collection but I see computers which are not in test collection. If we dont deploy any client settings to a collection, do that collection get default client
    settings?
    Yavuz Selim Atmaca

Correct. Default Client Settings are by default applied to clients.

  • "package" ARD and VNC client settings?

    Hi-
I work in a school, and manage @ 1,100 student iBooks. I'm trying to figure out how to create a package that performs the same functions as the "Change Client Settings" feature under the "Manage" Menu. We use external HD's to reimage the computers, and add packages to this HD that are installed post flight. Right now I have to do the reimaging, then use the "Change Client Settings Feature" seperately, then finally run a package that pushes out the VNC password, (com.apple.VNCSettings.txt) that is in the /Library/Preferences folder.
We set up the computers so VNC is enabled, and the teacher account on the machine can use ARD.
Any thoughts, ideas, or it can't be done's would be great.
    Thanks!
    Jim
    Mostly iBook G4's and G'3's Mac OS X (10.4.7) I use a MacMini w/ ARD 3.1 Admin

I have found that reverse DNS entries, especially when they are wrong, can really mess things up. If you haven't already, in your ARD scanner windows, right-click and add the "DNS Name" column, and adjust the columns so you can see it. Whenever you have problems connecting in ARD, that's always a quick thing you can check. If the DNS name does not match your computer name, you'll have problems.
I don't think you gave enough detail of what is and isn't working, but in general, you can try connecting both with dns names and IP addresses, and connecting to Macs sometimes works better by putting their name as macname.local instead of macname.yourdomain.com.
If you try to connect with VNC via IP address, and the IP addresses on your servers are static (should be), and it doesn't work, it very likely could be a firewall setting. Even if you have the firewall off or ports open, you'll want to run a port scan against the server in question to test what truly is open.
This is all general stuff. Post something more specific if none of this helps (detail of OS versions, programs used, ports set open, any error messages, etc).
    Good luck

  • How to manually retrieve Default Client Settings again

I have a question about Default Client Settings in SCCM 2012.
In our Default Client Settings we've added two AD groups for Viewers of Remote Control and Remote Assistance (Administration>Client Settings>Default Client Settings>Properties>Remote Tools> Permitted viewers and then Set Viewers).
When I logon to a client computer and open Local User manager I can see these two AD groups added to the local group "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users".
For testing I removed one of the member groups that was added.
Now the question; How does the removed group come back to the client? I've ran all the Configuration Manager Actions on the client but this doesn't work. It doesn't add the member which I removed. I also waited 60 minutes to see if it would come back automatically,
but no. Of course I can manually add this group again, but that is not what I want.
Or is the local group for Remote Control only filled the first time the Configuration Manager Client is installed on a computer? Or maybe there is another mechanism which takes care of filling the Remote Control Users group?

Today I added a new AD group to "Viewers".
After that, I ran the machine policy retrieval on my client on which I previously removed a group. After I ran this, de ConfigMgr Remote Control Users group was filled again. This time with 3 AD groups. So the group I removed before was added again and my new
    group was also added.
Conclusion; if I make a change to the Default Client Settings it will push all the settings again to a client. But if you make a change locally, like removing a group, SCCM won't update this group again. It seems it doesn't do a verify on local settings
unless something has changed in SCCM itself. Indeed it seems to imply a bug.

  • Client Settings for Device collections Vs Client Settings for User collections

I noticed there are "Client Settings" set for each User and Group in SCCM. I want all my "Client Settings" configured by Device Collections not User Collections, what can I do? Can someone explain the difference between those?
    Thanks
    James A+, Network+, MCP

One is for user settings on a client and the other is for device settings on a client. As you can imagine user settings can only be deployed to user collections and device settings can only be deployed to device collections.

  • Client Settings and RBAC

When we first setup RBAC, we created a Departmental Admin role that could create, modify and delete...basically was given all of the permissions for the Client Settings class since the objects are securable via scope therefore Departmental
Admins could not modify or delete the Default Client Settings or any of the Custom Client Settings outside their scope. This was working for us for the last 6 months and now all of a sudden, those same Departmental Admins now have the ability to modify
the Default Client Settings rule but still not any custom client settings outside their scope and I can't figure out why? It's as if the scope for the Default Client Settings rule as changed and I have no idea on how to tell since the console
doesn't show any scope for the Default Settings? Any idea on how this might have happened or how to fix it?

Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
Within the CM12 R2 Toolkit, look at RBAview, this will help you understand what each user can or can’t do.

  • Monitor SCC4 client settings

    Hello,
Is there some standard SAP report available
to monitor the client settings in SCC4?
We are looking to schedule a job which
    monitors the client settings and
    generates a report.
    Thanks & regards,
    Vijaya

    Hi Vijayalakshmi,
If you want to get changes made to the client settings daily then please create a variant in the report RSTBHIST for the table T000.In the variant use the dynamic selection for the data filed so that you get data for the current date only. This report is for displaying table change documents.Schedule a job for the variant/job combination.
If you want to get all the details  then schedule a job for the report /1BCDWB/DBT000. No need to create a variant. This report when executed gives SE16 view of the table T000.
You can direct the spool of the jobs to your mailbox.
Please award points if you found the answer useful.

  • BPC 5.1 SP3 Client Installs Change EnableNegotiate Registry Key

Just starting with BPC. Our first version is 5.1 SP3 and the server installation was completed successfully.
However, we have found that installing either the Admin or Office client components changes the following windows registry key on the client machine.
    Under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    EnableNegotiate is set to 0.
This causes the users default home page link to our Sharepoint Intranet to fail with a security error (403.1).
Uninstalling the client components does not reverse the registry key change.
Only manually changing the value of the key back to 1 resolves the issue.
Is there any way to prevent this key from being modified by the client installations?
Why is the registry key changed?  Is it critical to the functionality of the client components?
We have not seen any problems in the BPC 5.1 client applications with the EnableNegotiate key set back to 1.
I'm new in these forums.  Any input is appreciated.
    Regards,
    James Littleton
Edited by: James Littleton on Aug 15, 2008 4:19 PM

    Hi James,
Personally I never have had any issues with this registry key, might be because I do not have many customers using sharepoint.
As you already did, I would change the key and test all functions within BPC extensively, If no problems are found, you could go for it. But be carefull with upgrades of the client software of BPC
Additionaly you could ask support why this key is changed with a client install of BPC.
Instead of a client install via the BPC webportal, a lot of customers are preparing/using custom software packages like SMS. You could reset the registry key with the requred value by using these kind of packages automatically.

  • Tcc.exe do not save "Client Settings"

    Hi,
i'm logged in in our SGD 4.41.907 webtop and want to change my
client settings (button at the top "Edit Client Settings"). But after
saving the changes and relogin to the webtop, there changes are
    not available.
if i check "Add applications to Start Menu" and "Automatic Client Login"
and save the settings, the TCC.exe crashes.
If i enable JkLogLevel in the apache-config i can see the "Settings" in
the SOAP request sending to the axis-worker (webapp).
In another SGD installation, saving the setting works great ! Is
the problem in the different names of the a) apache-rul (access.softwaredemo.de)
    and the sgd-url (access1.test.softwaredemo.de) ?
How can i track down this problem ? Is there a way to turn on debugging
    for this stuff ?
If i fix this problem, we will also publish opensource programs like kde or openoffice
on www.softwaredemo.de WITHOUT the webtop+java - only with standalone ttc.exe ... try it..
    Hope for help
    regards
    Danny

    Hi,
i reinstall the SGD from scratch (vanilla installation) - now it works.
The old (broken) SGD installation was an "updated" installation - from an
earlier version. I think, this update was responsible for this problem...
    regards

  • Mail server settings changing on 10.6.8 server.

We are running Snow Leopard server at our office.  It has the latest patches installed.  We have had a couple of instances where the domain and computer name were changed back to local and computername.local on their own, we did not change them.  Of course we discover this when the email server stops working and we have to go back in and reset the values.
We've had similar things happen to the samba setup on it where the PDC domain settings changes back to WORKGROUP on its own.
What in the world would be causing this?
    Thanks

    > The DNS on our server is configured to forward queries to our firewall appliance which acts as a proxy to our ISP DNS.
Your ISP DNS servers cannot resolve IP addresses in a private NAT'd network.  (The ISP DNS server doesn't have a unique translation for any hosts on a private network, because each client of the ISP is on a different private network, and often with conflicting IP address assignments.)
Are you also using the same domain name and the same host names inside your gateway, and in DNS services outside your NAT'd network?
DNS forwarding is unnecessary if/when the OS X Server DNS Server is configured and operational.  Forwarding also slows down DNS resolutions, as it adds an extra hop.  The local DNS server is already caching translations so it won't send out a query for a cached translation, which means the only way the ISP DNS server is a "win" is if it has a cached translationf or the target host.  Otherwise, it does the same thing the local DNS server on the OS X Server box does; it queries the remote DNS server addresses and gathers up the translation and returns it.
And FWIW, the 192.168.1.0/24 block is an IP routing problem if/when you get to VPN connections, but that's another discussion.  The 192.168.0.0/24 has similar issues.  Half the cafe and home networks on the planet use that block, which means the same subnet on both ends of the VPN connection, which means that IP routing doesn't know if it should send packets for that subnet directly to the local host on the local subnet, or if it should send the packets via the VPN connection.

  • APP V 5.0 configuration with SCCM and APP V Client Settings

    Hi All
If some one is already worked on APP V 5.0 server and client setup kindly  provide me complete details of APP V 5,0 sp2 installation instructions of client and management server, publishing and SQL server. I have a requirement of to publish the application
through APP V 5.0  management server to citrix server. Our envrionment is based on citrix. So I need a clear information of setting up the server and publishing the app v client on citrix server.
End to End details. We have 140 citrix servers in future mode here is the requirement. In the current environment we have 80 citrix server and we have one admin security group and another one is user security group. In the User security group we had added all
the domain users and publishing to the citrix servers.
Can we configure SCCM with citrix server?
Example : We need to publish one single application (APP v 5.0) in All the citrix servers in single instance.
If yes possible then what would be procedure to configure and what would be app v client settings.
