Client Size

Where & how to find the size of a client .......?

Hi,
Do a test copy of the client will get the size of that specfic client
Otherwise you have a SAP note to calculate the size of the client. it is aYTABSIZ*
in 4.6C and in 620 onwards it is part of SAP standard program. it is RSTAB
SIZ*. it gives total table sizes and you can add totals. or else Chk for Note : 118823

  • How to check client size in SAP

    Hi All,
I would like to check the size of production client so i can do system refresh to QA. I need to know how to check client size only not database size.
    Regards
    Atul-

    Hi
Yes, there is a report called YSTABSIZ which can calculate the size of the client.
    1. Login to the target client ( for which the client size to be calculated)
    2. Run SE38 , execute YSTABSIZ by selecting the table *
    3. Execute the report in background
Once the client is deleted, the space which is free can be used to fill in with newly added data
but if you want to see the actual space reduction in DB02,it can be acheived only with DB reorganization

  • Standalone client size transfer limitation to server?

Is it possible a remote client can hit a limit for transfer size to the server
resulting in a REMException? We have a dialup client that is able to navigate
and use our client everywhere but in places where the data object they manipulate
    and save are the largest.
Other clients within the customer's WAN have no problem performing the exact same
procedure on the same data object. The client that is failing is using dialup
from puerto rico to the boston area. any ideas?

  • To know client size

    hi all,
i need to copy one client.  But i have less size in database.  I want to know size of client.  In that i seen RSSPACECHECK report its asking client table.  What parameter i need to give and what table it is.  Can anyone give idea about that and how many ways check the client sizing.

    Hi,
    066: Early Watch Client
This client is purely a service client that enables SAP to access remotely the customer system with regard to analyzing errors and performance. You must not change or delete this client.

  • Find the Client size

    Hi,
In our environment, we have 4 Clients. How will I find the size of each Client?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
RSSPACECHECK  and RSTABLESIZE gives you the size according to the Tables selected.
Delivery class L,A,W are generally ignored during client copy.
Its best to run local client copy by checking the test run.

  • How to know the size of a client and an instance ?

    hi,
How to know and measure the size of a client and an instance ?
comment and advice will be appreciated.
    regards,
    kent

    Hi Kent,
I always measure the size of the complete DB (instance) with DSPLIB *PRINT in batch - the very last line is the size. You could have a look into DB02 as well.
The client size is more complicated ...
You could do a "test-client-copy" - there it reports a size - but this size is far too small normally ....

  • What determines the client connection memory size?

We are trying to scale up the number of connections on our db - (dedicated not shared) .. but quickly consume the box.
    Its 11gr1 - Linux .. 500G of memory ..
The "only" parameter we have set is:
    *.memory_target=216522555392  (~200G)
Processes set to 6000 - but are are only around 1800 at this point.
We are seeing (via top) client connections with a reserved memory of 25-30g (usually the dbwr type processes) and client connections showing 5-10G in size.
With clients taking this much memory,  we start to see swapping on the box. In our dev/qa environment the clients are in the MB range .. of course they are not seeing real world traffic so I presume that memory requirements are growing as the app runs.
Can we set something to reduce the footprint of the client connections?
    Thanks for any tips..
If we get one db bounce this year .. we want to be right .. cant guess here..

    >Can we set something to reduce the footprint of the client connections?
    no
Since *NIX maps SGA into every client's process, displayed RAM size is distorted.
If you simply SUM every reported client size, it will greatly exceed total RAM (in most cases)
The fact that any swap is used is in itself not a negative indicator.

And on the one of tag, I've Pidgin. How can I set the buddy-list as Master window and it will change automaticly if I get any messages?

    Hi,
You can export the client, as well but it will take long time too, depended to your client size. Please note that client copy operation should be performed by standard SAP client management tools, such as client export/import or remote copy.
Ask this question to SAP support first. Technically, you can choose many ways to copy a SAP client, but as far as I know that SAP will not support you (such as errors you faced during the client export/import or the problems related by the copy operation), if you use any other 3rd party tool while for the client copy purposes.

  • How to define a client in sap?

    hi
experts can u help me for this

    SAP Client
Before doing a client copy, you need to prepare the following :-
    1. Find the source client space with the client size custom program which can be implemented using the rel. note:
Find the space of the client - '0118823'. This will give you the size of the source client.
    2. If your are on Unix OS, adjust all the file systems according to PRD file system to fit the PRD client in DEV
client based on space requirements also.
    3. You can do the client copy by remote or export/import client.
Remote method is not preferred if you are doing a large client copy.
        Do a client export/import.
    4. To speed up the export/import, use R3trans export/import for the clustered tables.
Please find the rel. notes related to performance improvements for cluster tables in OSS.
    5. Do import and post processing.
Note: Export may take 10 to 20 hr. for 50gb of data
import may take 4 days and post import will take 8 to 15 hr. for 50gb of data. And it all depends on
        your system performance.
Please refer OSS rel. notes for the few RZ10 parameters which needs to be set for cluster tables to speed up the process.
    Note :-
If it is a fresh installation, do this --
    1.  SCC4 --> Create client no. and fill other details.
    2.  Logon to the newly created client with SAP* and PASS as password.
    3.  SCCL --> choose any profile (preferably SAP_ALL), source client 000 and target client <as created just now>.
    4.  Preferably do a test run initially to check if it can go well.
    5.  As a care check space in databases.
    regards,
    srinivas
