  • Banking Services - Delete Account

Is there a way to get rid of accounts in Banking Services Loans Management and Deposits Management?
I understand that there is no "standard" way to do it because in productive systems this would be dangerous, accounts should be closed.
This is not a productive system, but for a demo. The demo business partner should have just one account, not several that were created by accident during testing. I want them to not show up in the Total Commitment or when searching for accounts of this BP with the value help.
Is there e.g. a report or function that could be executed by someone with administrative authorizations to delete the erroneous accounts or at least hide them from Total Commitment and search?
Or can I just delete the account from a table? But this would likely leave dead things over in other tables. (There are however not transactions on this account, they are in status "not used yet").

We do have separate clients. Additionally we run the server in a virtual machine and return to a snapshot to get rid of test data. But it has happened that people unintentionally or due to misunderstanding created accounts in the master client at a time when content development took place so that returning to the VM snapshot was not possible. It will probably happen again. It would be nice to be able to delete such accidents.
We have also once done a client copy with copying only customizing and no master data. The follow-up steps to get the system working again afterwards are quite lengthy. In Banking Services the conditions are master data, so these are lost. All the end points of web services are apparently considered transactional data and need to be re-created manually. Besides Banking Services there is CRM, in which not only the conditions, but also the products are master data and need to be re-created manually (I have posted in the CRM master data forum to ask for ways to transport or copy CRM products, but there does not seem to be any standard way). CRM also loses the middleware subscriptions during this type of client copy ... they are that time-consuming to set up (not as disastrous as those web service end points), but easily overlooked. So a customizing-only client copy is definitely not something I would want to go into if it can be avoided.

  • RE: Native Forte Clients with Express Services

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone using Express who may
have attempted using Native Forte Clients with Express Services, especially
what problems/issues (if any) you encountered and whether you found it to
be a successful way to develop complex screens where the 'look and feel'
can't be achieved with Express alone.I wrote a general-purpose windows framework which uses Express Services for its
database access. Had I known what I was letting myself in for, I probably
wouldn't have attempted it! I started it when Express V1 was fairly new, and
Express Windows did not support the types and complexity of relationships
required by the application we were developing. I soon discovered how
difficult it is to implement a completely general framework which handles every
possible permutation. Obviously I ended up making compromises, but what we
have now meets our needs very well. We are about to upgrade to Express V2, so
the real test will be whether the framework migrates smoothly to the new
    release.
If I were starting a new project now with Express V2, I don't know if I would
go down the same path. If you do, be aware of the following (based on my
    experience of Express V1):
    * Your design MUST obey the fundamental rules of Express Services. Your
BusinessQueries must be fired off by the correct BusinessClient subclass,
your BusinessClass attributes must be logged at the right time (depending
on which concurrency scheme you are using), and you must start and end
Express transactions (different to Forte transactions) appropriately.
    * Your design needs to take into account the difference in the way Express
Services handles aggregate and non-aggregate associations.
    * If you manage parent-child class relationships from your windows, you must
make sure you set and log foreign key attributes at the right time. If
the relationship is not aggregation, you must also manage the order in
which the records are saved to the database (if you use referential
    integrity constraints).
    * If you call Express Services directly from the windows, it is hard to
reconcile the asynchronous nature of a windows interface with the
database's requirement for things to happen in a certain order. (From
memory, there was a very good discussion in this user group last year of
what should constitute a unit of work in the windows paradigm.) If I
were doing it again, I would move all the Express-related objects and
method calls from the windows to a separate layer, which would manage
putting together the data from multiple windows, assigning foreign keys
and firing things off in the right order.

    All,
At our site we are using Windows NT 4.0 clients and a Windows NT
    Server with Forte 3.0.E.0.
Periodically, we use the Forte StopWatch class to measure durations for
    access to data. We've noticed
a strange phenomenon, and we're not sure if it's simply circumstance or if
there's a problem. All of the
measured durations that we receive through the Split method appear to
    contain either a 0 or a 9 in the
tenth-of-a-second position. For example, values of 1011 and 1912. Has
    anybody noticed this?
    Thank you,

I would recommend to look very closely and the way the default role is defined in the client 000 Homepage Framework and use this structure and defintions as a guide for implementing your custom role
In particular the Bank service must be linked to a resource which must point to the required location in the PCD

  • SAP Bank Analyzer in Banking services

    Hi All,
Need some details about the SAP Bank Analyzer in Banking services.
    Thanks,
    Ulrich

    Hi,
SAP best practices are showcased towards this objective in collaborating with different toolsets available to achieve IFRS goal. Bank Analyzer is a solution portfolio that can be recommended to achieve the IFRS goal. Bank Analyzer provides the application for Calculation, Analysis and Valuation of Financial products and supports the Financial and Risk Management processes for overall Bank control of financial products and the targeted architectural strategy for analytical solutions is marked by SAP Net weaver based on e-SOA concepts.
IFRA embraces layer architecture to ETL the Non Valuated Financial data in the SDL, Do the Calculation and Valuation procedures (CVPL/PML), Integrate different applications and consolidate the Valuated Data in RDL and report the desired data in SAP BI.
The changing requirements like SOX compliance, Basel reporting, IFRS give challenges to Banks to go for a software solution (BA) that is open and easily adjustable for all Bank controlling processes. All financial data Consolidation, Consistency, Data exchange across all application is called for. The changing new requirements call for a solution to combine the Revenue generating area (Financial products) and the Operational area (Business support). Hence the architectural solution IFRA in BA will provide the basis for Consistency, Transparency and Data exchange across FA, MA, RM and RR.
Bank Analyzer  breaks the silo reporting by integrating internal and external reporting both in the management of Financials as well as risk and reduce the gap between FA and MA as well as RM and RR. Bank Analyzer   Is a modeling environment which can be understood better when we elaborate the aspects of IFRA.
Firstly FDB provides the Single source of Truth as the core Financial and risk information are concentrated and integrated, secondly the Layer Model suits the adaptability to new requirements and further Strategies like Modularity, Openness makes Bank Analyzer focus on Bank Value chain Performance measurement on all aspects towards success.
Bank Analyzer   has Analyzers to evaluate SAP AFI with Merge Scenario based on Multi GAAP results and Sub Ledger solution with GL integration. SAP Basel II solution, SAP Limit solution
Please let me know if you need more details.

  • HTTP client for WSDL service in Forte 4GL

I have a question on Forte 4GL 5.0 (UDS Server). We are exposing the service
methods developed using Forte 4GL as WSDL files.
The client for the application is JSP. We want to access the WSDL file
making a HTTP connection with the Forte 4GL server. In our client
architecture we download the WSDL file into the Java web server and use
Apache SOAP for request and response.
We are able to generate the WSDL file for the Forte 4GL services, but unable
to access the same using HTTP URL from Java.
We need to know how to access the file using HTTP i.e. The HTTP URL of the
WSDL file when accessed from a remote system.

Robert is right. When you expose an SO as SOAP and generate the WSDL file for that SO, Forte does only that, generate the WSDL file. You must serve up that file from your webserver. Also if you want to communicate with the SO via the SOAP interface, Forte will also generate a Java class to handle the communicate with the SO from a Java client if you run the GenerateXMLServerJava from Fscript (for more on this read the Documentation on Integrating with External Systems pg 152 ftp://192.18.99.138/816-6306-10/816-6306-10.pdf).

  • Limitations of Developer Support

I am evaluating Azure Virtual Machines as a possible solution for a staging server for my production software (3rd party app).  I am having trouble getting a straight answer to the limitations of developer support.  Since this is only a staging
server I don't want to pay $300/month for "Standard" support since that's twice what I pay for the VM!  But it looks like "Developer" level support may not include essential support options.  For example, suppose I need a support
engineer to log into the VM's "console" in order to remedy a problem with a service that is preventing a clean boot?  There has been occasions when I've needed that with my production server and in that case they have data center techs who will
do that for no additional charge.  Is this scenario supported under Developer support?  When I go to create a ticket I don't see anything like this as an option.  TIA

    Hi JoeGMag,
You need an Azure Support plan to receive one-on-one technical support for break-fix issues for $29.
    Please see http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/plans/
Support for billing and subscription management issues are covered with your Azure subscription at no additional charge, and you don’t need to have an Azure Support plan to raise these issues.
Recommend you to submit a Free Billing support ticket for furthur queries on billing.
To submit an incident, go to the
Azure Support site and click on Get Support.
