Clients Business area: Banking Services - BI Development & Support?

Hi All,
I would like to know the things taken into consideration while working in developement & support projects with respect to domain.
As we have a clients doing retail business for whom the BW is implemented,<b> In the same way i want to have the info of BW development & Support in the below areas:
1.Banking Services
If we will be in banking services project, what & all we should know like landscape of the client, their business process etc.,
How those will be?</b>
The info asked is a bit tough for providing the needed info, but as we know that nothing is impossible in SDN.

  • Business area in service tax

    Hi
    In India service tax liability amount is derived based on regional (UWK) sale/purchase .
    Service tax GLs are not updated with business area at entry level.But business place is updated against each line items.
    At the time of payment against clearing with open item , one UWK get all open items .
    Hence it is difficult to identify his/her own UWK for clearing those line items with payment. I have checked the possibility of filtering with business area but not by business place.
    Is there any way to search open items at the time of clearing with business place ? customized screen selection is possible for filtering purpose ?

    Do you mean VAT by saying service tax? If VAT, you are correct, VAT lines do not have business area information. It is available by using New GL.
    F.5D F.5E Business Area adjustment may provide similar effect by offset balancing, but this is only summary basis, may not be line by line.
    Strict usage like F.03, New GL would not be sufficient to your requirement. New GL doesn't work with clearing screens, it only work behind FI transactions.
    But the overall need i.e. division balance sheet would be realized either way (F.5E or New GL).

  • Business area is not Populated in Set off account During MIRO.

    Hi All,
         I have some issue in MIRO. I have Service tax set off account. When i do MIRO Business area is updated in Vendor Line item, Provisional Items and even in Withholding TAX line item(TDS) but System does not show Business area in SERVICE TAX SET OFF line item.More over , when i see the document in FB03 , in Entry view no business area is there for SERVICE TAX SET OFF  but When i see the GENERAL LEDGER view business is there.

           I have define the substitution as :
    Prerequisite :
    Company Code = 'XXXX' AND Tcode = 'MIRO' AND Document Type = 'RE' (For MIRO) AND Plant = 'XXXX' AND G/L Account = 'XXXXXXX' ( SET OFF ACCOUNT)
    Substitute:
    Business area = 'XXXX'
    But it doesn't work.
    Please suggest.

    We never assign tehm to ech other,
    But both business area and profit centers are created for internal reporting. Now a days profit center is a felling that business area enhancement would not be supported by SAP future version
    Business area:An organizational unit in external accounting, which corresponds to a separate operational or responsibility area in the organization, and value flows recorded in Financial Accounting can be assigned to it.
    The business area should be treated as a separate economic unit, for which you can create an internal balance sheet and a profit and loss statement. The business area is, however, only an internal organizational unit and does not have any external impact.
    You define business areas if you wish to create a balance sheet and a profit and loss statement for internal areas, in addition to company codes.
    Profit Center:
    A profit center is an organizational unit in accounting that reflects a management-oriented structure of the organization for the purpose of internal control.
    you can use your profit centers as investment centers.
    Profit center Accounting at the profit center level is based on costs and revenues. These are assigned statistically by multiple parallel updating to all logistical activities and other allocations of relevance for a profit center.

  • Business View Connector Error When Developing from Client PC

    We upgraded from CE10 to BOXI 3.1 using Crystal Reports 2008 with Business Views.  Now when developing a report using a BV working in Crystal Reports 2008 on the server on which the BV resides all works fine; when we use Crystal from a client PC and start Crystal, get a BV from the server repository as a database connection,generate a simple report, running  the program returns no data but error 'Cannot Open Database' appears followed by 'Unknown Database Connector Error'.  Why is behavior from Crystal on a client PC different than when running Crystal on a PC that is remote-desktopped into the server, and what need I do so we can develop Crystal reports based on BVs from client PCs?

    If you edit reports locally you also need the database client and configured on the local PC also.
    When you use Remote Desktop you are using everything installed on that PC. Remoting in all you are doing is passing the screen updates to your local PC and nothing else.
    Oh, and you should likely install the BOE Client tools on your local PC also.

  • Intra company / different business area service jobs flow

    Dear all
    The business process is below
    The Machinary plant which is providing the repair/services to its parent plant. All the incoming materils from parents plant will be non valuated for repairing thro notification. After receipt of the services ,machinary plant will create the service order. All the costs will be booked. The serviced materail is despatched to the parent plant with out inventory account. While services all the materails, activities are performed in machinary plant account.
    The service order which has expenses costs it should settle into the parents company cost center, order. But this one has separate business area.
    For above this shall we follow the process as _Maintenance Notification (by parent plant)---Non valuated materail reciept( at service plant) -- Material or equipment master creation -- service Notification creation - Service order creation & process Settlement into parents cost center.*-- Despatch of service Product---Receipt with out Purchase order-.*_
    Here i am not understanding  how the parent plant will get the maintenance cost of the equipments since of non valuable material.

    The TCodes for the Transfers are as follows:
    ABUMN: For intra-company or Inter-plant transfers
    ABT1N- For Inter-company transfers.
    If you have only 1 company code,then there is no need of using the TCode ABT1N, You can use ABUMN.
    Regarding the excise invoices,you can post the same once billing is done,by using TCode:J1IIN,but of course it will depend at which point your client would do the excise invoice.

    Dear all,
    I would like to search OSS documentation which mention that SAP does not support business area anymore? anyone knows the exact OSS number for thatstatement ?
    Because as far as I remember, SAP does not recommend business area. SAP advised customer to use PCA or new GL instead.

    To meet the changing requirements, we will focus the further
    functional developments in Financial Accounting on the profit
    center entity. With General Ledger Accounting (new) in Release SAP
    ERP 2004, you can create financial statements for profit centers.
    See Note 756146 for more detailed information.
    o The business area will be retained in the present form. The data
    and functions will continue to be available. In the context of the
    use of classic General Ledger Accounting, business area accounting
    (Customizing OB65 for business area financial statements, SAPF181
    and SAPF180) will continue to be supported to the known extent;
    only a further development in the context of classic General Ledger
    Accounting is not planned.

  • Business Area is not getting updated in "Main Bank Account" Line item (FF_5

    Hi Gurus,
    I am executing T Code: FF_5 for uploading the "Multi-Cash" Format. This transaction clears the Bank Clearing Account and post the entry to the credit of "Bank Main Account".
    Now while i had executed F110, the Business area was properly captured in the Bank Clearing Account Line item. But while executing FF_5, the Business Area is not getting captured against the "Main Bank Account" Line item.
    Can you please tell me how to capture the Business Area against the "Main Bank Account" Line item.

    1. In case of Business where payments are made centrally it is important to report
        Bank A/c Business area wise.
    2. However I have solved the problem by doing "Sustitution", and its working fine. The Business Area is getting updated against the Main Bank Account Line item.
    3. I am however getting one error while doing the upload in FF_5. The error occurs
       only if Business Area is a "required" field in Bank Account's "Field Status
       Group".
       Error: (00 298) Formatting error in the field COBL-GSBER ; see next message.
       But if I make Business Area as an Optional Field I am not getting an error and
       also the posting is done to Main Bank Account.
    Is there anyother method by which this error can be corrected.
    I have assigned 2 points for your inputs. Can you help me to solve this error as well.

  • Restriction of banks to business area in F110

    We have the following requirement.
    We have multiple business areas in vendor line item level & we restrict vendor open items to a particular business area when making payments (T-code F110) by using the "Free Selection" tab.
    Also we have assigned the bank accounts/House bank/Bank ID to business areas in customization(FBZP -> Bank determination -> Bank accounts).
    We need to validate the House bank & the bank ID according to the business area defined in the "Free Selection" tab.
    Is there any method we could validate the above?

    When you are selecting MAINTAIN VARIANT.., it is asking for the details like this..
    <b>Payment method
    Pmt meth. supplement
    Business Area
    House Bank
    Account ID
    Check lot number
    Restart from Check Num
    Currency
    Payment document no.</b>
    If you set business area, House Bank and Account id, defietenly it will not allow to post in any other business area.
    Just make a try if the this satisfy the requirement . there must be other ways also to do the same. I will make a try to find the way if this does not work.

    The copy paste does not work in FF67. Only first column gets copied and then you have to copy paste column wise. This is limitation is SAP standard transaction and is not modifiable.
    LSMW will not help much as the records to be uploaded in the same statement and paage down can not be handled in LSMW.
    Your ABAPer need to record the transaction in SHDB and the can create a custom program to upload the excel using that recording. This is easy for programming point of view.

    The scenario relates to CRM related postings.. We are on CRM 7.0
    We are changing our enterprise structure in ECC 6.0, by adding new business areas..
    In CRM, service org is assigned to business area..Currently, say, service org 1902 is assigned to business area 1902... Now we
    would assign it to business area MH02
    However, we have huge no of billing documents that are due to billing. After doing this change, when we execute the billing,
    customer a/c hits the new business area (MH02) and the service revenue is hitting the Old business area
    We want both of them to hit the new business area.. How can this be achieved??

    In E Sale Order is the Cost Object and sale order costing is required
    In M Sale is not a Cost Object material costing is required.
    If you activate the Business Area in OBY6 mandatory field it will ask you at the Application level.
