Clients log out randomly
We are running an AD authentication, OD homedirs (golden triangle) environment and are experiencing automatic random logouts in one lab (iMac) in our district. These are not set to shut down, sleep, etc. in Energy Saver system pref, and it occurs when students are logged in and actively working, so a File Vault log out due to inactivity doesn't seem to match the scenario. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas why this would occur.
Thank you.
Thanks Paul, here's the latest one I'm trying to fix. Panic log:

Client logging out not working
I am having two issues , the first happened quite recently but I don't know if I caused it. Users on client machines cannot fully log out. The computers stop the logging out process when they get to the desktop image, The second issue is that when some clients log out the show up as disabled/asleep in server administration. This prevents them from logging in later, without me manually disconnecting them at the server. I work in a school and we have set students with the restriction of not having mutiple log-in privileges. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hey,
I am having a problem with my computer logging me out randomly. It seems to be that if I am inactive on the computer for a certain period time this happens. I am currently running OS 10.6.2.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
AidanIs it actually logging you out or is it merely locking the screen and asking you to provide your password before it will let you back in?
In any case, you can check this:
Open "System Preferences" -> "Security"
Select the "General" tab (if it isn't already selected)
Among the various check-boxes on this page, there is one to "Require password <some period of time> after sleep or screen saver begins."
There is another to "Log out after _ minutes of inactivity."
Check to see if either of these are enabled and set them according to your preferences.
Also note that the keyboard shortcut to log out is "Shift + Command + Q" (which is very nearly the same as "Command + Q" used as a shortcut to quit an application). Is it possible you mean to Quit a program but were holding shift and inadvertently logged yourself out? -
Server locking up when managed clients log out
Hello,
I have an Xserve running 10.4.8 Server, 2Ghz G5, 2GB ram, and all that fun stuff at a school. The kids are able to login fine, but when they try to logout, the server completely locks up (lights on the front are maxed out) and the client computers (all eMacs running 10.4) get the spinning beach ball for up to 15 minutes. It's happened three times in the past three days we've been in school and I can't find anything that seems wrong. I've checked the logs and it's not showing anything that seems to be an error.
I haven't been able to see what's happening when it locks up because it's hunning headless and remote desktop or any other server programs can't connect. I'm going to hook a monitor up to it to see if I can catch anything.
I was hoping that someone has seen a similar problem and might have some insight.
Thanks,
Jasonturns out there were a lot of hidden trash files that filled up the hard drive. Emptied those and we're ok now. Thanks for nothing other apple users!

MBP logs out randomly when connected to external monitor.
My early 2011 MBP laptop (OS Yosemite 10.2.2) recently started logging itself out. I narrowed the problem to the external monitor which is connected with a Thunderbolt adapter. I installed Thunderbolt firmware update 1.2, that did not correct the problem. When I disconnect the external monitor, the problem went away. Is there something I can do to be able to use the external monitor again?
I know that both displays will turn blue when it is connected, but it turns blue and comes back after the display is connected. It will become blue during a Keynote presentation, while Front Row is on, and while nothing is happening. It doesn't matter if it has been connected for five minutes or two hours, they both change to blue screens and happen very often and in no particular time interval.

How can I stop my Macbook Pro 3,1 (2008 model) from logging off randomly?
Hello,
Does anyone know how I can I stop my Macbook Pro from logging out randomly? (version 3,1, 2008 ish). I recently installed Snow Leopard on an upgraded hard drive (did both at the same time)---and now my machine has been randomly logging my out.
I believe this problem has happened to a lot of folks, who linked it to a WindowServer Error. Here is what my log looks like for (what I think) is the problem:
Any suggestions on how to fix it?

My best guess at this point is that this just the same "NVIDIA gldAttachDrawable" bug referenced in many posts, but that it can be triggered by different conditions/programs.

Web UI, users automatically logged out
Hi
I am facing a issue which is occurring in production system and not reproducible. We are using SAP CRM 7.0 and Users are getting logged out randomly, there is no specific pattern. Can anyone suggest something.
I checked the settings using SMICM to set icm/keep_alive_timeout .
Any pointers would be really appreciated.
ThanksHi,
Check the config using the path Tcode SPRO->IMG>CRM->UI Framework->Tech Role Def->Define Tech Profile
choose your technical profile which is assigned to your Business Role (usually Default) and click on details.
If there is any value in field MB Memory Threshold then remove it and save.
Compare the same in Quality and Production system.

MacBook logs out intermittenly without warning!
My mothers MacBook completely logs out randomly for absolutely NO reason. I've opened Safari then tried using my main toolbar at the top and BAM logs out. I opened photo booth and before it could finish loading BAM logs out. Also, errors keep popping up "photo booth has unexpectedly quit" or "safari has unexpectedly quit". I've been able to keep firefox open long enough to create this post because i have been avoiding the toolbar. As soon as i go up to the top to click file, edit, view, history, etc... it immediately logs out completely. i have never seen anything like this i have no idea what to do or where to start looking for the problem. i have a slight feeling it may be from something like an email attachment she has downloaded that contained a virus. but i do not know enough about computers to know. PLEASE HELP WITH ANY IDEA OR THOUGHTS!
Hi....If you can open Disk Utility (Utilities folder) and from the left column choose...MacIntosh HD.....then choose the First Aid tab.....Repair Disk Permissions and Verify Disk....look at the info in this link...

New OSX not does not work with RED Rocket Card and old OSX Randomly Logs Out - UNSTABLE
It looks like my MBPR 16GB (MacBook Pro) randomly logs out and causes my programs to quit unsaved. I can not update to the new OSX mountain Lion because the new Apple release is no longer compatible with the RED Rocket card needed for debaying RED Scarlet footage. Mountain Lion causes the RED Rocket to not run correctly with Adobe Premiere.
At the same time, I am on Lion and my computer randomly logs me out and I lose all my work. It seems as though the Retina is unstable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can someone tell me how I can return this. It seems as though I may have to switch the entire company over to PC if this is not figured out soon. You probably have not received responses for two reasons.
1. There are not many here that know what this is "RED Rocket card needed for debaying RED Scarlet footage"
2. Your post appears to contain some sort of threat to Apple about moving to PCs. You are not addressing Apple here. We are users just like you. We don't care if you change over to PCs.
MBPs and Lion are very stable. Maybe your unsupported third party Red card is causing issues. Their answer seems to be that Mountain Lion is not supported. I wonder why?
My suggestion if this is a business environment is to not mess with this. If you know for a fact that your Red card works with PCs, change over to PCs. I know that if some tool was not working for my business I would not hesitate to get something that worked. -
I recently upgraded to the latest version of FF and now when using a webmail client I am routinely logged out when I try to search e-mail. It works in IE, but I don't like or want to use IE.

Hi,
Does anybody know how I might fix the followin:
When I log out of my user account on my macbook the screen display has started to do weird stuff like change size so that the usual log in screen appears small and to the left, not filling the whole screen, then if someone else in the familiy logs in to their user they may have the same problem within their usual screen, with a small area instead of the full screen to work with. THe remaining screen displays blue, without the chosen wall paper etc. It seems to do this randomly so that logging in and out of accounts, shutting down and reopening can get things back to normal, but only until it goes weird again.
Thank you for any help.
BillieIt sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight. -
Lately I have experienced being logged out at random intervals on my laptop. That is, after some time (of activity or inactivity) I get logged out and Slim is executed. This is the normal behaviour when killing X manually with ctrl-alt-backspace, so I believe that this is a result of X crashing. I don't know where to start troubleshooting, so I will provide the most relevant info.
I'm running xmonad + xmobar, slim as display manager on 3.0-ARCH kernel. I'm using the intel-dri driver.

When I try to log-in to CC-Client I get logged-out
Since few days I'm unable to log-in into CC-Client.
I start the CC-Client, enter my username and password. As next I get a notification that I was logged out. What am I doing wrong? This problem causes that I'm unable to synchronize my settings too.
I run the CC-Client as normal user with restricted rights.
If I run the CC-Client with administrator rights everything is fine. But why is this needed? It worked for a long time without administrator rights and I got the prompt to log-in with administrator rights only when an application was installed/updated.Sign Out When Sign In http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1450581?tstart=0 may help
