Clients not receiving dchp addresses from server
Our dhcp server (windows 2012) is failing to issues addresses to the pc's. Once the lease has expired on the pc (user goes on holiday for a week) the machine will fail to pick up an ip address on the users return.
The event viewer on the server reads "IP address range of scope is 95 percent full with only 7 IP address available"
I have gone through the dhcp scope of which there are 94 exclusions and i have a further 39 machines which require addresses.
On a class C subnet i should have far more than 7 addresses available.
Any thoughts as to what might be at fault here.

Just completed a major network upgrade... So decided it was time to stack some ofmy old switches! Can anyone date some of these things? And some before and after shots: The first one is of a distribution cabinet (2 x 10Gig Fiber link ag. to server room) on the other side of our site, the last two are of the core cabinet in my server room. Will take some more pictures later.

From log i know that 802.1x passed, while dhcp don't send ip address. It seems that the local vlan id is 0 while in reality is 3... WHY ? i don't understand.
Someone can help me to find the problem? i think the problem is on the network, the dhcp ( the corporate router) is directly connected to the ap.Are you setting your FlexConnect native vlan and the wlan to vlan mapping? You also need to make sure you have the ip helpers setup and that dhcp is working. I would configure a switch port to a vlan that the wireless users is suppose to be on locally at that site and connect a laptop to that port and make sure that the laptop gets an address.
Thanks,
Scott

I set static IP on interface BVI1 on non-root1 and non-root2, also root-bridge I can ping to both of them, in fact I access to them via web and telnet.
I also set ip helper-address on interface Dot11Radio0 in all APs root and non-root..
My mind is about to crash...I don´t know what else to try.
thanks for your time. -
WLC2412-Clients Not receiving DHCP addresses
I recently upgraded a clients WLC and they keep saying they are unable to get an IP address from the DHCP server. It's a simple, flat network and here is what the logs are showing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Windows (XP) not receiving IP address from LAN port on Airport Extreme
I have a DSL modem connected to the AEBS WAN port. Three computers (one Windows laptop, one emac, and one powerbook) can successfully connect to the internet wirelessly through the AEBS. The remaining desktop PC, running Windows XP, normally connects to the LAN port on the AEBS and there are no problems.
Suddenly, the desktop (always configured to get ip addresses automatically using DHCP) is not getting an IP address from the AEBS. I've confirmed this via IPconfig, and the address is 169..... The Windows error message is "limited or no connectivity."
When the desktop is connected directly to the DSL modem, however, it works just fine. Of course this isn't a satisfactory fix, as it means the DSL modem is no longer connected to the AEBS WAN port, and none of the wireless computers have internet access.
I've determined that the problem is not in the LAN port itself, as my powerbook successfully connects via ethernet through the AEBS LAN port.
I've also updated the AEBS firmware to 5.7.
Any suggestions on how to fix this. As I mentioned, the problem occurred overnight.Try using System Restore to set the computer back to a time when it was working.

Clients not getting Combo updates from server
I will try to explain the problem with my limited English knowledge.
My software update server works. The clients already update from it.
My server has downloaded and enabled the incremental AND combo 10.7.4 updates.
My clients have 10.7.3 and they can get the incremental update to 10.7.4.
When i choose to serve only the combo update from my server (by deselecting the incremental update) the clients think their software is up to date.
For some reason i am certain if my clients hade ≤10.7.2 OS everything would work fine.
Any solution?I was able to solve it in the end. I had an ACL on Core Switch blocking traffic from AP to/fro WLAN/WLSM Switch. The initial traffic goes through the AP's and access switch (authentication and broadcast) to WLAN/WLSM switch through Core, thereby blocking layer 3 traffic and not layer 2 (authentication).
You might need to check your radio on your client (a = 5. Ghz or b/g = 2.4Ghz) to see that it corresponds to what is configured on the AP. -
My school has been providing updates using Update Server on Lion. With the update to Mountain Lion Server we switched to Cashing Server for updates and I removed the WG Manager (please no lecutres on WGM, I am transitioning) setting that pointed to the Update Server. Some of my clients are not updating now. My guess is that they are still looking to my update server.
Is this an accurate diagnosis and how can I clear out this pointer? My school has been providing updates using Update Server on Lion. Clients not receiving addresses from DHCP
I have a Cisco 2811 router and have configured it to be a DHCP server at a remote site. It seems like it should be pretty straight forward to configure DHCP. Apparently I'm missing something because I can't get clients to receive an address. Below are the applicable parts of the config. I also have tried associating the DHCP pool with the Claims vrf and that did not work either.

Mac E-Mail Not Receiving Incoming Mail From ATT/Yahoo Mail Server
Recently "upgraded" to ATT U-verse. My Mac email client (3.6) suddenly not receiving incoming mail from the web-based ATT/Yahoo. Settings-all are correct: Telephone talk with Tier 1 and Tier 2 ATT reps confirmed "unusual" problem, and that the settings (ports, ssl, etc.) are indeed all correct. Tier 2 supervisor referred ticket (F23576784) to the brilliant minds at Yahoo for help. I've heard nothing for five days. Some emails do get received on my client, from (Apple, ATT, for example). Others languish on the web-based mail, with no push to my iMac. Tests of sending myself e-mails continue to confirm problem, with test emails sitting at Yahoo server, no push to my Mac client.
I am able to send e-mails successfully from client. Interestingly, a couple of incoming e-mails from friends did manage to slip through the lines and arrive in my Mac client a couple of days late. Brave little souls, they're not talking.
I've tried all sockets, all other settings possible, but no luck. Why is there no straight-forward answer to this proliferating problem? Odd e-mail behaviors? No documented or shared answers by the big outfits to Mac users? Mac mail virtually disabled and useless? Has anyone found a path to resolving the varied but similar problems in this area yet? Thanks in advance for any help offered beyond adjusting preferences over and over and over. That ain't working.
StuieeGeez, some emails are getting through, most are not forwarded to my client MacMail. They are also marked as read, which could mean that Yahoo is forwarding them somewhere...(?) Can't get ahold of Yahoo, ATT forwards me to Yahoo, Yahoo has no method of emailing real, technical questions, ATT supervisor actually called Apple and there is nothing wrong with the OS or my set up requirements.
Does anyone know a workaround for setting up smtp requirements? Can't switch email clients at this time, would take a lot of changing existing contact info for bizz.
At this point all I would like to know is, where is the problem? Why does a server (ATT/Yahoo) send some mail to my account, not send others, and marks all messages on the webmail as read? Thanks for the one response, I do believe the problem is some minor error set at the isp's server software for Macs, but who knows? -
Not receiving information sent from specific server
I'm not receiving data sent from a specifc address. Other (non Verizon) users are able to get data from the address. I can send data to it and pinkg and tracert times are good. The vendor needs a check of verion servers to see if there's a specific problem related t otransmitting data from the address. Online Verizon help was of no use since they cant' understand that a ping is only for seeing if you can connect to the servere.
The specific proble is addressed in the following from the data provider's internet support
Layer 4(transport layer) traffic is not reaching you from our app server with the address https://os-bo-app04-04.boldchat.com/. They want to know if there's any Verizon issue related to this. That's a curious question response from a company. Verizon and any isp are only providing layer 1,2 & 3 of the osi model. Any would verizon be involved in layer 4 issues for a particular website? I would think that answer would be pretty obvious.

i am trying to redeem my itune prepaid card and the system request the security question's answer which i have forgot. im trying to retrieve it through my yahoo email address which i set earlier but i do not receive any email from apple support. Can i know what should i do to retrieve my security question's answer?
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com. Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE: This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address. Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security. You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.
-If you are not in the US, click http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 - Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

Flexconnect Local Switching Hosts Do Not Receive IP Addresses
Hello,
My WLC software version is 7.4.110.0. I have a branch office in my lab. The AP in my branch is configured as flexconnect with native VLAN of 700. The SSID that I have in the branch office is configured to do local switching. The show wlan is added below.
My tunneled SSID still working and I can still receive IP addresses from it. My issue is last week I have the Flexconnect working with no problem, then this morning I can connect to the SSID, but I'm not receiving IP addresses for my test wireless clients.
Thanks

APs unable to receive IP address from DHCP (core 6500 series switch)
Dear Friends,
a week ago I had stable wireless network APs were getting IPS from 6500 series switch (DHCP) but unfortunately some WISM got rebooted and now APs are unable to receive IP address from Core 6500 DHCP, to cater this issue I have another DHCP server configured on windows 2008 i created another subnet and and put APs in that vlan now all APs are are successfully receiving IPS from windows DHCP server I don't know why APs are not able to receive IPs from core 6500 series DHCP.
please advice
Thanks

Apple devices not receiving IP address
Hello everyone,
I searched for a resolution to my problem but couldn't find one so hopefully I can get some help here.
We have a 2504 controller (Code 7.0.220.0) deployed with 7 LAPs. We have a few SSIDs, both with WPA/WPA2 configured. There is an external DHCP server that all clients get their IP address from. Laptops can connect to these SSIDs with no problem.
Lately tho, no APPLE devices (iphone 4, 4s, 5, ipads, etc) can get an IP address. They are all stuck in the DHCP_REQD state. I ran some debugs and I see that an APPLE device keeps getting a DHCPOFFER with an IP address but the APPLE device never accepts. Has anyone ever had this issue ?
Here is the debug of the client getting DHCP offers but never accepting:

I saw in another thread that disable WPA/TKIP can work, however this isn't an association issue because they association just fine, they just can get an IP address.
Any help would be great. Thanks!Hey all,
Thanks again everyone for the help. Turns out after a lot of packet captures and pointless calls with TAC, I found the issue was a bug with the ASA firewall.
https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuh79288
The DHCP lease time to Apple devices was 0 seconds (might be due to the fact that Apple devices request Options 119 and 252). The fix was configure "dhcprelay timeout 60" on the firewall.
Makes no sense I know but it fixed it.
