Clip Art for Pages?

This there "Clip Art" in Pages like there is in MS Word? I would like to put some Christmas Clip Art in some documents that I will be creating. I would like for them to be high resolution so they look good when I print them on high quality paper.
Is there a library of clip art in Pages for me to use?
Kevin Hawkins

Well, yes and no. There is no formal set of clipart for Pages, but I did do a rather large set of themes for Keynote a while back, and many of the elements were graphic image files which work well with Pages.
It was called the twelve Themes of Christmas, included numerous religious images (some unique images of unglazed nativity figures) and velvet themes (complete with gold cords)
Then there was the Gingerbread theme, complete with numerous candy graphics (including Cookies! And several styles of hard candy)
A few of the other themes were simpler, but the most complex was the Wrapping theme, including riibbons, bows, several styles of wrapping paper and such.
All the themes came with special corners, tops, bottoms and sides that would fit seamlessly for slide-slide transitions (box, slide, etc) All of them work rather well in Pages (they are sized for 1024x768 slides) and are 'good enough' for most projects (the corners could be used with the various pieces to create longer items)
I took them off the market due to the size (300M altogether) and a family emergency that turned up. Since then I have directed most of my energies to Pages.
Would they be appropriate for your uses? I'm unsure of how much interest there would be for such a heavy download.

  • Is there clip art for Pages

My wife was trying to recreate something she had done in MS Word the other day, using Pages, but there is no Word Art or apparently no resources for clip art with iWork. AppleWorks had some clip art available.
Are there any resources for clip art for iWork/Pages?

Pages accepts .eps and .ai (converts both to .pdf), .pdf, tiff, .pict, .jpeg and .png.
There are a wealth of all these out there. Some free, some paid, lots cheap. Search for them.

    Hi Wolfki;
No generic PCI cards will NOT work in the PCI Express slots. In fact they don't even fit.

How can I get clip art on Pages like MS Word has?

Pages will use any old graphics, of which there are bucket loads on the internet.
You just drag, paste or import it or bring it in via the Media Browser:
Menu > View > Show Media Browser
If you want WordArt then you will need to create that in another program and bring it in.

  • Clip art in Pages

    Hey Folks:
New Mac Guy here. I am in need of some miscellaneous images, graphics, icons, stuff like that. In Windows world it's all called CLip art. Does any of that come with OSX or Pages that you know. If so any idea where is it?
    Thanks,
    FFF

There's also loads of free clip art at http://www.openclipart.org
I downloaded the bundle for my little sister but iWork doesn't have a dedicated clipart browser so i ended up loading all the images into albums in iPhoto (which is very sluggish with so many images).
I'm hoping we'll see a clipart library/browser as part of iWork tomorrow.

  • Need something like clip art for imovie

I edit our church service each week, and burn it to a dvd to be broadcast on our local cable access channel. I want to add something like a cross or religious symbol to the titles I type across the bottom of the video clip. How can I get drawn pictures like clip art into my projects? I use imovie 06
    Message was edited by: Aheart4God2

I'm looking for clip art type pictures that I can place over a title or movie clip, like you can place words when "titling" over a movie clip in a movie your editing. I'm not looking for a "picture or Photo" that will take the space over. Just something small to fit in the corner on the bottom of the movie clip that shows over the movie clip: like text does in a movie clip.It shows the text over the movie clip, and still see the movie clip. Is there some way of doing that with pictures, not just words in a title? Am I explaining it correctly? I hope my terminology is understandable. I'm not an expert by any means, but I am sincere.
I hope some one can help.

  • Reducing AI size for clip art (wmf or emf) CS3 on Windows

    Hello All -
I was actually in an Adobe workshop last week with an Adobe goddess and she was not able to answer this question - so unfortunately, I do not have much hope. But the last question I asked on this forum was answered so quickly and accurately I thought I would give it a shot!
I am creating clip art for a client who has decided they can only use .wmf or .emf files for their application. My illustrations, when exported to .wmf, are around 3MB. Obviously, for clip art this is much to large, since these files are typically around 7-15 KB.
I have tried numerous ways to reduce my file size drastically, (including merging, saving as older versions, tiff's & png's and reimporting, correcting in photoshop...) and the only way that has produced a small enough file size was to remove any beauty in my illustrations and make them completely flat, solid, colors. At first, the client was pleased with the results, but has now decided they are not pleased and want to be able to use the original illustrations that I provided and still have a small file size.
    Suggestions?

Your client is painting you into an impossibly small corner, and for no reason. Large posters such as you will be producing are printed on expensive inkjet plotters, operated by professional print service bureaus. Those people use professional graphics programs, including Illustrator. They would most likely prefer either native files (ie: Illustrator) or PDFs. Your client is asking for impossibly small EMF files because... well there’s no way to logically finish that sentence. Probably that’s the format they grew up with or that they were told works best with Microsoft Word. Perhaps it did, too, in the 1990s.
Since quality of image is probably the most important factor, anything you do to make smaller size or EMF compatibility a priority will compromise that, probably for no good reason. See if the print shop will accept PDF. See if the client can work with PDF, if the client feels some need to work with the files.

  • I would like to freely add clip art in Full Edit Mode in PSE 5.0

    Hello,
I am new to Photoshop Elements. I have PSE 5.0 on a windows XP platform with service pack 3 installed. I want to be able to create flyers with PSE and would like to freely be able to add various types of clip art into my canvas. I know you can do this when you're creating slides, but I want to be able to do this in PSE full edit mode, not by creating a slide show via the organizer.
There are tons of clip art online and they have various file types too. I am also wondering if I can use any of the file types as well. The ones that PSE has for the slide shows are .png. But online I have seen .wmf, .mpf, .jpg as well. How can I incorporate all this clip art for use in creating flyers and/or logos by just starting with a blank 8.5 x 11 canvas in full edit mode?
Any expert help here would be greatly appreciated. I was able to do this using Word, but Word of course lacks the graphic quality and optionality of PSE greatly.
    Sincerely,
    Lee

Thanks for your reply here Bob. I have read what you mentioned above and am not quite sure how to do it that way. What I have been doing so far is to find a clip art item somewhere, copy it to the clipboard, then bring it into PSE with the File-New-from clipboard command.
This will bring it into it's own space and Layer as a separate file on it's own. Then I select it, copy the selection to the clipboard once again, move over to my blank canvas which only has one background layer now, and paste it onto this canvas.
This seems to be working, but I loose the Vector graphic aspect of the clip art image because it converts it to a raster type of image now. So I have to be very careful in resizing it to not loose resolution and such.
I noticed when I go to create a slide show in PSE, I have access to the graphics palette where you can double click a piece of clip art and it goes right onto your slide and stays as a vector image. I can get to these images while in full-edit mode, but I have to use the file-open command and navigate to the right folder and then open one up into full-edit mode as it's own layer. But then once again, I loose the vector aspect and I have to go through the process of selecting it, copying it to the clipboard and then pasting onto my blank canvas.
I know that MS Word is no match for this product, but at least there I could easily add clip art to any flyer I am making without loosing the vector aspect. But I know that the quality is so much better here in PSE and that I just need to learn how to utilize more of its functionality and power. Hence why I am writing this post I suppose.
Isn't there an easier way to get clip art into your blank canvas in full edit mode without having to go through all this and/or without having to create a slide show to get access to this clip art pallete? And having to loose the vector aspect of the clip art is not so wonderful either. Did I buy the wrong Adobe application - Ha!
Should I be using Illustrator since I want to create flyers using clip art, type and effects?
My apologies for this long post, but I would really like to be able to utilize, if at all possible, PSE 5.0's full power to create great quality flyers using all these things.
    Thanks again,
    Lee

  • Powerpoint Clip Art - HELP!

    Greetings all,
Im looking for Oracle clip art for MS Powerpoint. I need to put put together a presentation on 10G clusterware for my boss and a few developers. I've spent a good part of the day hunting for decent DB technology clip art. Our "presentations" are usually left to discussion with a few markups on the white board. Now the boss wants a more "professional" apperance. He's going to present it to some Execs on the advances to internal IT structure.
I've tried some of the stuff that comes with our Oracel software...but it looks gross when I enlarge it.
I would "think" Oracle wouldn't mind sharing their clip art for presetions of their technology to the purchasing decision makers.
    gracias.

I would "think" Oracle wouldn't mind sharing their
clip art for presetions of their technology to the
purchasing decision makers. We, as volunteers and mostly non-employee entities, do not have permission to pass on Oracle's symbols to you.
It should not be difficult for you to ask your local sales team, especially the sales consultants who create presentations on a regular basis. In fact, they might be overjoyed at providing a pre-defined presentation.

  • When saving a document as a PDF for printing, I lose pages, clip art, and my orginal format. Help!

I have created some forms for our congregation to fill in with answers on adobe forms central. When I go to turn it into a PDF for printing for a hard copy, (not all our members have internet) when i save it to a PDF, it doesn't save all the pages and formats it differently then show on the screen i programmed it onto. How do I fix this issue?

    Hi;
In the "Feature Tutorials/Help" linked from the top of the main page of the Forums: Feature Tutorials / Help
There is a Tutorial on "Creating and distributing fillable PDF Forms": Tutorial: Creating and distributing fillable PDF forms
The main thing to look at is the "View" setting and for PDF set it to "Page View", the page breaks you define in Page View will be used in the PDF, there are also "implicit" page breaks added automatically based on the page size.
For the issue with clip art see this FAQ: Image does not show up in PDF
    Thanks,
    Josh
