Clip Art, Picture Frames, Borders, etc...

I was wondering if there is a place where you can get clip art, more picture frames and cool borders for Pages 08?
Thanx
Joe

I'm afraid you're looking completely in the wrong place. PS doesn't produce instant galleries, it is a full-blown professional image editing app. Hence there is no such thing as decorative borders, clip art and what have you. Of course al lof that can be added with PS in a million ways like patterns, shape brushes or by using text with dingbats, but it's not prefab stuff. And "easy" is very much a matter of perception and experience, but from what it sounds like, you wil lbe much happier with Photoshop Elements or similar products from otehr vendors...

Do a search for clip art using your favorite search engine - Google or Bing are good places to start.

  • Clip art and messy borders?

    Hello all,
I upgraded from photoshop elements 6 to cs4.  PE6 had quite a few clip art and various photo art enhancements, but I don't see any in cs4, but I know they must be somewhere in there.  Can someone please direct me to the clipart.  I would like to put fancy squigly border pieces on the corners of my photos and I would like to get some of the edging borders that surroung the photos that look like chalky borders.  Please direct me on where to go
    Thank you!

Going back many versions, there used to be sample images included. Cannot recall if these were dropped in PS3, or PS4. There were few, though there were some ClipArt items, IIRC (may be thinking of AI).
As John points out, there are tons of libraries available for purchase, and if you have MS Office, MS has a ton of both stock photos, ClipArt and similar available. Do not know if that is available without Office.
There are also many sites that have a lot of decent ClipArt, and much of it is free, or reasonably priced.
The one thing to consider is the exact format of these. Some are bitmapped line art, and some are in proprietary formats, like WordPerfect's Graphics format. Others are Vector art and can be disassembled and reassembled at will. This will be easier in AI.
    Good luck,

  • Using Keynote Cool Picture Frames between Apps

Hi - is there a way to grab the "Keynote" picture frames/borders for use in other apps. I can't seem to find them even when I show contents of the "keynote" package.
Thanks for any and all help:)
    Shelley

iMovie is a DV editing app and the final results would still make a 640X480 file.
I would change a few things to make everything work together:
First is the display resolution. You want the 23 inches to be used so just reduce the display preferences to try and match your QuickTime file. 800X600 sounds about right but larger will still work as H.264 Video scales up in size very nicely.
This would force you to "reduce" the dimensions of the Keynote file but that shouldn't be much of an issue.
QuickTime Pro could also be used to "change" the dimensions of the 640X480 file. Again, H.264 scales up in size and would look pretty good at even double size.
The goal is to have them both at the same dimension and then match the monitor resolution.
Easier to change the display than the files.

  • Clip Art Showing as Wav file

I am having aproblem on multiple computers where the clip art images downloaded from the Internet are showing as .wav files.
I have cleared the Temporary Internet Files and temp folder on the hard drive. I have also verified that the image is (for example) and jpeg and the file is supposed to open with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Nothing has worked and I am getting quite frustrated. I have checked the kb that Microsoft has on their web page and did what they mentioned, but we are also not using a proxy so that can't be the issue.
Any information anyone could provide would be great and appreciated!
    Thank you

    Dear Tiffany,
This issue usually occurs because of the un-proper settings in IE. Based on the current situation, I suggest trying some methods to troubleshoot the issue and check
if the problem can be resolved.
Method 1: Check the program that opens the clip art picture
    =========
Right click the clip art picture and choose
Properties. In the General tab, make sure
Internet Explorer is selected after Option with. If Windows Media Player is selected, please click the
Change button and change it to Internet Explorer.
Check the issue again. If the problem persists, let’s continue.
    Method 2: Reset IE settings
    ================
    1.
Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
    2.
    Click
Start. Type the following command in the
Search box, and then press ENTER:
    inetcpl.cpl
    3.
    The
    Internet Options dialog box appears.
    4.
    Click the
    Advanced tab.
    5.
    Under
    Reset Internet Explorer settings, click
    Reset. Then click Reset again.
    6.
When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the
Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
    7.
Start Internet Explorer again and check the issue.
Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for
you, please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,

  • I have a question that I think I know the answer to, but am looking for confirmation.  I have a dell computer at home that has clip art available on it for putting pictures into documents.  Do I need to install an APP to get something similar to clip art?

I have a question that I think I know the answer to, but am looking for confirmation.  I have a desktop computer at home that has clip art loaded onto it.  I recently got an iPad and am looking for something similar.  I assume I need to get an APP for it, and if that is correct, does anyone have one that they like?

Sort of.  There is an app called art shop that gives you a place to park clip art.   But I don't think you really need it.
If you have a collection of clip art you want available, move it to the camera roll on your pad/ phone, then copy paste into your document the clip you want.
You can get them into the camaera roll by putting them in a single event in your picture library and syncing them over,  or e mail them to your self, and save to the camera roll, or send them to drop box, and bring them down that way.
The challenge is getting them all in one place to make it easy for you to find, which is why syncing might be the best approach in the long run.
As near as I can tell there is not a ready made clip art collection in app format laying around.

  • More Picture Frames for Borders?

I'm making a flyer, and want a border for the entire page. I've figured out how to make a border by making a rectangle over the whole page, going to the inspector, then changing the line to a picture frame and choosing the frame. Is there anywhere where I can download additional types of frames so that I have more of a selection when choosing a border for the project? I was hoping that due to the nature of Pages for more creative projects, it would have more to offer than Word, but unfortunately I don't see many options here for borders.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate them! Thanks.

    check out this:
    http://www.keynoteuser.com/news/?p=226
it should pertain to Pages also, though the file might be in a different place in the app, and I wouldn't use the file download from the site except as a guide, because it was made for Keynote.
Short answer: You don't need to download any new frames, they're inside Pages, they're just hidden.

  • Any place to download additional shapes, clip art, etc?

Relative Mac Newbie here (and even more so for iWork/Keynote).
While I still use Word and PowerPoint (for Mac), I'm trying to see how Pages and Keynote would work for me. (Love the idea of completely weening myself from Micro$oft!)
In Keynote, I find the number of "shapes" really limiting, as well as the lack of integrated clip art.
Is there anywhere I can download additional shapes, clipart, themes, etc?
    Thanks!

An alternative to using Powerpoint is to import SVG files into Keynote using the command-line utility I developed:
    http://mcb.berkeley.edu/labs/zusman/dave/svg2key/
With it you can create shapes in a graphics editor such as Inkscape or Illustrator then import them into Keynote via SVG.
Be sure to check out The Open Clip Art Library at www.openclipart.org for some royalty-free SVG files.

  • Clip Art and Borders

Hi - Does anyone know if there is clip art available for pages and can you add a page border. Going Crazy!!!! Hope someone has the answer. Thanks

    Hello macgirl1188,
welcome to the Pages Discussions. You can use every clip art you can find if it is a EPS, PDF or PS file. Of course you can use bitmap files in JPEG, PNG or TIFF, too. Have a look at http://www.openclipart.org/.
You can insert a rectangle shape for every kind of border. Make sure the shape is a fix placed object (in the wrap inspector). Adjust it in size, position and appearance like you need it and send it to the back (menu: "Arrange"). If you need the border on every page, choose the menu item "Format/Advanced/Send Object to Page Master". If you need the border only on one page, you can lock it with the menu item "Arrange/Lock".
If you need a more art like border, you have to insert an image in the needed size and resolution.
    Frank.

  • Masking and clip art with transparent backgrounds

I'm new to iWeb and am creating a travel blog. So far love the simplicity of it. However, when I try to add clip art type images or graphics with transparent backgrounds I always get a white border around them. I have tried to mask or crop the border out but no dice. Any help?!
Also, if anyone can recommend a good source for travel or photo related clip art let me know. The iWeb "Roadtrip" template seems to have some cute items - maps, scissors, tape, etc. - but there is not much there.
    Thanks everyone.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. That's the default border for added image files. Go to the Inspector/Graphic pane and take off the frame/stroke that is added by default.
Be sure to post a request to remove that default border at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html. The more complaints the better.

  • Centre aligning images within picture frame using XML file

    Hi
I am using a flash file that uses an xml file to upload a
series of images one at a time into a picture holder.
There are two different widths of the images. The height is
always the same. Is it possible to set this up so every image that
the xml file calls is centre aligned within the picture frame.
At the moment when using the xml file to load the image it
always left aligns the image when it brings it into the picture
frame even if you change the alignment to centre align within in
    the align panel.
Does anyone have a suggestion why this is happening or how to
    fix it?
    Thanks for the help

    You're welcome. Pleased it worked.
All it does is use the MovieClipLoader class to load the
images into your holder_mc. Because loading takes time, and because
you can't check or adjust the size or position of images until they
have loaded, the MovieClipLoader class gives you a handy option to
run some code whenever its finished loading something you told it
    to load.
That's what the addListener instruction does... it says
whenever myLoader has something new to tell me about the status of
the load requests I ask it to do... make it run some related code
in the listener object (which is called loadListener in this
code... it could equally be called something else). You 'listen'
for different events or updates of status. All I 'listened' for
    here was the onLoadInit event.
The onLoadInit is the 'final' status update after loading. It
occurs when something has loaded and its properties are accessible
(_x, _width etc). The target_mc that is an argument for the
loadListener.onLoadInit is a reference to the clip that was loaded
    into.
The best way to learn about this stuff is probably to read up
on MovieClipLoader in the livedocs and try google to see if there's
an online tutorial somewhere. Then give it a try yourself in
    another new fla.
    cheers

  • Trying to find a general clip art library - Totally stumped

we just bought our first IMac and got IWork 08
I do a lot of desk top publishing including business cards, labels, brochures, etc
I was under the impression there was a big gallery of clip art images in this program
    I can't find them anywhere
I've looked in Inspector and Media - I realize I can import my own photos, but I just want to choose from a bunch of pre-packaged
I can't seem to open finder and grab says I don't have the rights to use it
    HELP please
    I've very frustrated
    Thanks

If you are making documents for personal use, I suggest http://images.google.com/ .
Pictures that can be distributed legally can often be found at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page .
But there are more things out there: http://www.google.com/search?q=clipart

  • How to change the picture frame size in Lightroom 5 Book

I would like to control the actual picture frame size when making a Book in Lightroom 5. Or else know the sizes of the different picture frames provided by choosing the different page layouts. That way I can either change the picture frame dimensions to accomodate each photo or change the image size to fit in the offered picture frame. I find that using the software as is winds up cropping the images in unwanted ways. Modifying the picture frame would be my preferred alternative. Appreciate any ideas

    Hi again Tony,
I have been using Adobe Photoshop 7, Photoshop Elements, Perfect Photo Suite, Photo Studio, etc., changing Image size, placing a picture on a page and then, do a simple last minute size adjustment by using the arrows to stretch or shrink it in place. Things would be a lot simpler if I could do the same thing with the cells in Lightroom 5. Cell pad adjustments do not fill the bill.
I think we’ve pretty much concluded this exchange. Thanks again for your effort.

  • How to change "Object Causes Wrap" and a "Picture Frame" as a default properties when importing images in Autor

When I place images in iBook Author, they are automatically assigned these properties: "Object Causes Wrap" and a "Picture Frame" stroke.
I don't want that and couldn't find where can I change it in the Preferences. Anyone has an idea?

I've sent a feature request for a new version of Author:
When I place images in iBook Author, they are automatically assigned these properties: "Object Causes Wrap" and a "Picture Frame" stroke.
It would be great if I could be able to change it in the Preferences to "No wrap" and "No Frame" so I don't have to manually adjust every single image of my book - there are lots of them.
It would be really nice if Author implements "Layer's" concept like almost all graphic programs like Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, etc.

  • Special characters & picture frames do not appear when site is loaded

When I publish my "new" site to a folder and open it everything looks fine; however, when I upload the site to my server, all special characters (bullets, apostrophes, quotes, tabs, etc. along with picture frames show up as ??? or squares. Checked in Foxfire and Safari; no difference between browsers. Note: used iWeb SEO.
Any ideas what's going wrong and how to fix it?

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? I've no experience with either of those apps. I use Web Site Maestro for optimizing and uploading my sites. It works very well.
