Clip colour/lighting/contrast keeps flickering in fcpx and export

I've edited together a film on FCPX, and seem to be having issues with many of the clips that seem to be flickering. The colour/contrast/lighting keeps going lighter and darker. I thought this was just an issue of watching it on FCPX but the same applies when it was exported.
It was filmed using the Nikon D5200.

Ah, I think I may have resolved the issue. They played fine in Quicktime, but I have now Transcoded the Media in the Project and it seems to be working fine. Thanks for your help anyway, and the compliment

Take a look at the [[Firefox Hangs]] article. It should have some useful information that may help fix this situation. If that does not help, you may need to try Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] and if it works, try the following step:
Deactivate all plugins in Safe Mode. If Firefox works alright in without Safe Mode, then activate each plugin one at a time until the problem appears again. It will probably be this plugin that is causing the problem.

IPhone keeps flickering apple logo and won't turn on, any suggestions?

So I have a 4s 16 GB with the latest version of iOS 7 and just randomly as I was texting my friend my iPhone crashed. When I try to turn it on the apple logo stays flickering. I tried to enter in recovery mode and restore my iPhone but each time before the restore starts loading on the iPhone i get an error message 9. I have the latest version of iTunes and as well as the latest version of OS X on my macbook. I do not have any warranty on my phone which is why I haven't bothered calling apple. Any suggestions? I'd greatly aprreciate it.

It sounds like you are at this point unable to restore your phone due to error code 9. According to the following article, there maybe some security software interfering with communication to the update server so thats where I would start:

Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

Try to restart your Mac and try again. I see from the hang, that if was hanging when accessing the data and time.
Did you just change your system preferences while iPhoto was open? That can crash open applications.
If that has not been the reason, test, if iPhoto will work on a new, empty library.
As a test, launch iPhoto while holding down the alt/options key and create a new library from the library chooser panel. Does that work?

Getting FCPX to export to multiple machines in Compressor

We have 3 - 2013 Mac Pro Towers (grey) 1 new late 2013 Mac Pro (black), 2 - 2013 - 27” iMacs and 2 - 2013 Mac Mini’s. All are running the latest version of FCPX (10.1.1) and Compressor (4.1.1) on OS X 10.9.2.
The Mac Pro (trash can) and the iMacs are connected through Thunderbolt and all of the other machines are connected through a gigabit network. We are exporting to a 12TB Thunderbolt RAID.
We have 100 - 90 minute edits we need to export to an MKV file format each week. We are trying to use multiple machines to export these on. We have set up Compressor on each machine and added them as “Shared Computers” in the Compressor preferences. When we finish the edit and “Send to Compressor” the multiple machines do not pick up the export and share the work.
All computers are set as "Shared" with no passwords required. We have selected "All Interfaces" for the network sharing Preferences.
All machines are editing on FCPX and exporting through Compressor fine on their own. The part we are trying to sort out is the machines sharing the work in Compressor.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm using a MacbookPro so can't right click to highlight (as was suggested in this forum for the same problem) and can't seem to highlight that area. What do I do?

When using the Clip Trimmer, you click DONE to indocate that you are finished.
The Trim To Selection is a great tool and I use it all the time, but you use it in the main project timeline, not the clip trimmer. Just select the frames you want so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click and select Trim to Selection.

The little light keeps flickering on my powerbook!

Recently I noticed that the little light on the button that opens my powerbook keeps flickering while I'm using the computer. What gives?

It's ok to be nervous, however resetting the PMU is simple. Shut down your PB. Unplug the AC adaptor, remove the battery and hold the power button down for 5 seconds. Reinsert the battery, plug the AC adaptor back and and restart the PB. You'll have to reset the time/date after this procedure. From there just use the PB as you would normally and monitor it to see if this issue reoccurs. If it does then consider taking a trip to the Apple store.

You don't say which year it is, but if it's a 13" you're not having a common GPU that some 2010 and 2011 15" models are having.
Since reinstalling the OS didn't help, I'm afraid that the only real choice you have is to take the machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them run diagnostics on the machine. It's likely a screen problem, rather than a logic board problem (although that's always a possibility).
The testing is free as if the estimate for repair. There's really nothing else you can do yourself at this point.

Display Contrast keeps dropping to black.

I've had a look at other threads but non of them seem to have quite the same symptoms. I've tried lots of suggested solutions to no avail.
My Macbook 4,1 (early 2008, running OSX 10.5.8) screen keeps blacking out irregularly - sometimes every 5 minutes, sometimes after 10 seconds, then 30 seconds, then it'll be fine for 2 mnutes.
It's definitely the contrast that keeps dropping and not the screen sleeping - I can still see a very faint display. I don't have the ambient light sensor activated and it can be left completely alone, not touched and it will just randomly dim itself.
The only way I can get the contrast up again is to use the contrast keyboard buttons to dim it all the way down and then brighten it up again. Sometimes that doesnt work and going to 1 on brightness just flashes the screen up breifly. I then have to alternate on the contrast buttons toggling between 0 and 1 to get it to eventually work. It also sometimes helps just closing the screen then opening it up again.
I have the problem with battery in, with the battery out, ive restarted and turned off over night. Luckily, I backed everything up last night onto an FAT32 partitioned external drive. I think it highly unlikely that that could be the cause, but I don't want to leave anything vital out and seems like a bit of coincidence to have started the same night!
As you can imagine, this is unbelievably infuriating - any help greatly appreciated! I have the option to do a software reinstall in a couple of days when my Snow leopard disc comes in the post but I'd like to try everything else first...

Version 10.0 keeps flickering red when reviewing my movie

I've notice that the screen keeps flickering red when i'm trying to produce my movie and review my clips any help?

I'm having the same issue. I have a macbook pro with 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7 and 4 GB of memory. I just updated to Mavericks. I have iMovie 10.0 recently downloaded from the Apple Store.
The funny part is that my first couple of times using iMovie I had no problems with this. Now, after multiple restarts, everthing I do in edit mode has a very distracting red flicker. This makes it really hard to get precise inpoints and outpoints for editing.
The good news is that the final exported movie looks fine, so I guess I should be grateful. But really, for a video editing program that's based on visually selecting, this if not a very good experience.
Anyone know of a fix?

Macbook pro 2011 early cannot find right resolution for external display and keeps flickering

I have a macbook pro 2011 early running 10.9, and a LG FLATRON W2242T external screen. Also, I have a VGA to miniport from Apple and a VGA to HDMI, plus a HDMI to miniport(from Apple). By just connect with VGA to miniport to my MBP, it just flickers few times and stops detecting. But by connect VGA to HDMI converter and HDMI to miniport to my MBP, it keeps flickering, a non-stop flickering. The external screen always shows no signal. However, if I connect my MBP to my TV through HDMI to miniport, it works fine. But connecting the VGA port to my TV, it gets the same problem. I have tried clear my PRAM many times, and it gets the same result. Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)
