Clip cut shows up three times in browser

Why is this one clip showing up three times in the browser. I did not bring it in three times check it's all the same in the file.
Do not know why or how it got like this.

Tom, I notice you have trouble seeing images posted inline on the forum. They are always visible to me. Some kind of setting maybe on your account here at apple.com or how you've got Safari set up?

UPDATE...sync issues..on my Bold, everything in the calender is showing up three times..

it is only in the calender. Tasks and contacts are in there just once, but after syncing tonight before leaving the office, the calender info is listed three times..Thoughs?

Hmm.. that does not make sense to me. It only shows "pop" one time in itunes. It's the ipod itself that shows it three times. If i deleted the pop from itunes wouldn't it delete all the pop from the nano itself?Thanks for the answer, though

Podcasts show up three times after sync

This is a weird sync issue.
Most of my groups of podcasts sync with no issue.
I have one series, a nice group from Layers TV, that shows up three times in the podcast page. I delete manually in iTunes, re-sync just the series I want, but on the podcast page there appears three icons for the series each with the same menus list of podcasts. It's the only series that does this. I don't have multiples or repeats in iTunes or in the library.
It only adds them once to the iPad, so they're not copied multiple times. It's just three separate icons containing the same list of podcasts. Maybe these are different keyframes so they're listed as separate?
I have no idea how to fix this.

It sounds like the podcasts have different information in iTunes. The podcast producer could have changed something in the tags. Try selecting podcast 113> click File> Get Info. Then Get Info on podcast 116 and find out what tags are not the same. They should have the same artist, album, genre, ect. Then change the information to match the latest podcast(probably correct going forward), so they group up in iTunes.
You can also try selecting the entire group of podcasts in iTunes(80-134) and then Getting Info on all of the selected podcasts. Then Enter the correct information and check the box next to the field, to change all of the podcasts tags.

Artist that shows up three times on iPod...

On my 80 GB iPod, the artist "BUCK-TICK" shows up three times in a row. My iTunes library is meticulous and I have double checked to make sure that it isn't discrepancies in the labeling of the songs. There are none, and there are still three of the artist in on my iPod only. Does the fact that a couple of their albums and many of their songs are labeled in Kanji as opposed to Romanji? Just a thought...

There's a discrepancy somewhere and the trailing space is the hardest to spot.
Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs, right click on them and select "get info".
This brings up the multiple song info window. If you see the "artist" field is left blank, then there is a discrepancy with that name.
So to correct this, in the artist or song box retype the name, as you would like it, and then click ok. You should do this even if no mistakes are immediately visible.
Re sync this new artist/song info to your iPod.

Keyboard short cuts show in the time line

How do I make keyboard shortcuts to show in the bar on the timeline. Once I saw it done. I can't find it.
For example if I do multiclip edit the shortcuts should appear right there, instead of me looking at PDF document to find the shortcuts.

Right click on that little grey strip next to the buttons and choose show keyboard layout or show button list. Then drag your shortcut next to the other buttons (snapping and linking by default)

Xserve Xsan Client shows up mulitple times in Xsan Admin

I am seeing one of my clients showing up multiple times in my Xsan Admin under the Computers tab. Also under the Licenses tab I see that this Client's license is being used Multiple times.
So information of interest:
The Client is an Xserve (Early 2009) that has a Quad Fibre Channel Card installed in it. Though only two of its connections go to my Fibre Channel switch. Also, I have installed Xsan Admin on all of my MDC's, and they differ with how many times this server comes up. What I mean by this is on one instance of Xsan Admin, it will show up in the Computers tab 15 times, while on another instance it will show up three times.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I found that if you quit XSAN by closing the app and disconnecting from SAN and reconnecting next time you launch XSAN Admin, it refreshes these lists and clears the redundant entries. If you choose "quit xsan" from menu bar and don't disconnect, the multiple entries appear.

How can I add a folder of MP3s to Final Cut so they show up in the media browser?

I have a collection of royalty free audio clips in MP3 format. I would like to get them to show up in the media browser, so I don't have to go to the finder each time to get them into a project. Any idea how to do this?

If you want them in the Music and Sound media browser specifically, rather than in your Event Library, then you could easily just add them to your system's iTunes library, then access them via FCP X:

Or if you want to avoid adding / organizing them in your iTunes library then you can just drag and drop your already organized MP3 folder directly into the Sound and Music media browser pane inside FCP X and the app will add that folder to the browser inside a new "Folders" category.

I have disable all Add-ons - I've reinstalled FireFox 6 three time and it repeatedly locks up and slide shows fail to load. I have all of the proper Flash and Shockwave type Add-ons. I just can't resolve the problem.

Sending a solution that I have already tried is of no help, but I tried them all again, reloading works sometimes, I have seen in the past that others have had this problem also, of pages not completely loading. So I don't see how you can say I am the only one. When I first started using Firefox it worked great but now it doesn't, one of the updates caused this problem. I guess it's back to IE as it works fine now.

How do I Show date and time when I hover over clip like in iMovie

How do I get FCPX 10.6 to show date and time when I hover over a clip? I can so it in I movie and as I move over my clips the date/time is shown. I need it for that specific point in the clip not just the record start time.

I realize that my needs are outside of the normal editing workflow. I am a private investigator and last week I shot over 6 hours of surveillance video on a Sony video camera. Within this 6 hours of video there is at most 2 minutes of actual footage of my subject. So what I wanted to do was just import the parts of the clip I want, so I can avoid importing the whole 6 hours, and then add a text title of some sort that shows the date/time. My problem is that once I get this clip I have easy way of establising the TOD short of taking the clip capture time and then counting up using the SMTPE Timecode. In this regard iMovie makes it easier because I can just hover over the clip and see the TOD of that specific frame. iMovie on the other hand would force me to import the whole 6 hour video so i'm left moving between both programs which is less than ideal.

Mail shows "on my mac" three times after import

After I imported old mac mail files into mail after a clean install. Mail shows "ON MY MAC" three times in the box pane. Only one will collapse. Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

Compound clip imported into project not showing up in the event browser

I have learnt that when one imports any clip into the project from anywhere else other than its associated event folder, the new clip also gets automatically added into the event folder. I have seen this occur when I had imported audio from the music browser onto my timeline directly.
Today I happened to place a compound clip [a common template which I use for introduction to the video] onto the beginning of a project which I have started recently. I broke the compound clip apart and made the necessary edits. What puzzles me is that this compound clip has an audio clip and this clip was not being shown in the event browser. Is this normal?
Ps. I have very recently updated my FCPX from version 2 to 5.

Let me explain the matter in a different way...
I have made a compound clip of the intitial generator clip, titles and music clip which I had used for my first project. The intention to do so being that I could reuse the same for my future projects as well. I placed this compound clip in a new project which I named as templates.
When I had started upon a new project a few days ago, I copied and pasted this compound clip from the 'templates project' and added it to the beginning of the timeline of the new project.
Now, for purposes of editing the titles, I broke apart the compound clip and changed the text of the titles. Also, when I had ungrouped the compound clip, there did appear the music clip below the timeline. I know that clips imported from the generator browser and the titles that are added to the project do not show up in the events browser, but should not the audio clip make its appearance in the event browser? I know that when we add an audio from the music browser, this audio clip will be automatically shown in the event browser.
My question therefore is this: is an audio track that gets added to the timeline of a project via a compound clip that has been added and ungrouped on the timeline an exception to the rule?

Even though new photo image shows up in the icon box in the lower corner of the camera screen, the photo did not save to any albums or places on iPhone 5s with ios8.02 update. Happened three times now so I know it is not operator error!

where did my photo go? Three times now I have taken a photo, and can see the image in the little icon box on the camera screen. I click on the icon to use the photo to share, but the photo is nowhere to be found. Hello again... I have the 5S with current capacity of 56 GB and available space of 28GB. (I have several big big rule books and pdf files for work on the phone). There are currently a total of 1627 photos (yes, I know that's a lot...but there used to be even MORE, and I had no problems before ios 8.02) on the phone, and I have done routine purges and deletes and backups to my PC and the Cloud.
When I did the first update to ios 8.0, of course, I found out quickly that photostream and camera roll disappeared, but I was smart enough to figure out that the upgrade created the folder "recently added" and I was able to reinstall the Cloud on my PC and my photos are streaming nicely to the PC and my Ipads (two of them) when I get home to wifi.
Then I did the ios 8.02 upgrade last week. Used my phone to take photos this past weekend while away on a trip, and darn, one of the photos that I really needed, disappeared. I thought perhaps that the problem was "operator error" by the person who took the photo of me. But then last night, I was taking some photos and lo and behold, the same thing happened to me...twice...... the photo image was in the little "icon" box, and I wanted to "share it". So, I touch the icon of the photo, but the photo did not appear in the "recently added" bunch of photos. The previous photo was there. I took another photo, and it appeared normally in the "recently added". <shrug>. Took a few more photos, and once more... the icon showed the image, but no image was in the "recently added" folder.
That's all that I know as of now...... today... no problems. all photos (took about 20) all appeared in "recently added" as they should.

Music scrollbar doesn't show the correct time

I have this really annoying problem on my Ihone 4. It doesn't happen all the time though. I always listen to audiobooks en aometimes when I have to take a call or whatever it will restart from 00:00 this is not the problem but when I then want to use the scrollbar to fastforward to where I was it will show the wrong time so basically the audiobook is normally 18:54 but when I scroll to 18:40 it will just be at the beginning of chapter 1. This is really annoying because you have to keep relistening to the first chapters.

I've had FCP lock up on me several times. The cause seems to always be 1. That I've got a ton of unrendered stills in the timeline, 2. The project is rather large, with a lot of old sequences. FCP can only access so much ram. Stills are only virtual media clips until you render them, but FCP had to create them and hold them in a cache until you do render them. FCP remembers, IN ACTIVE RAM, every cut, transition, every sequence whether active or not, every filter used, audio levels, all the clip info itself-- and a bunch of stuff you or I will never know.
When you start reaching the limits of what FCP can handle, wonky stuff starts happening.
