You would have to purchase, install, and update them first.
They would be installed into /Applications, probably into an MS Office folder. The installer may have placed aliased copies of the icons in your Dock, or if not, use the Finder > Go menu > Applications, and have a look around. When you find the applications, you can drag/drop the principal three onto your Dock — where a single click can launch them.

I have word docs and power points in Arabic which I should like to read on my Mac. Can anyone offer a view as to how I can do this.?

I have much training material previously prepared on my former Microsoft pc. Some of the word docs and power points are in arabic on a memory stick now. However my Mac cannot read the arabic at all. Has anyone hd this problem and found a solution?

Do you see disconnected Arabic or nonsense? If nonsense, it could be an encoding problem. Use the camera icon here to post screenshot of what you are seeing.
It is important to understand that MS Word for Mac has never supported connected Arabic. You have to use some other app, like TextEdit or LibreOffice, and sometimes select the text and change the font to one of those provided by Apple, like Geeza Pro.

I downloaded Yosemite and now I cannot print on Mac Word, Excel, and Power Point

I download Yosemite a few weeks ago and now I cannot print documents on Mac Word, Excel, and Power Point. I attempted to reinstall the software and it still doesn't allow me to print documents. Below you will see the error messages I get when I try to print. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Update MS Office suite to be the most up-to-date version and also run Software Update to see if there are updated printer drivers for your printer.

Ipod and Power Point..can it work?

I just got the 60 gb video Ipod and wanted to know if it is possible to put a power point presentation (which is on a cd-rom with audio) on my Ipod. If it can be done, please tell me how. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

If the Keynote document has some slides with quicktime movies to play, when you send the Keynote 3 doc to the iPod 60GB will the video as well as the slides be fully functional??
You can still use PP slides on the iPod. Just export
the slides as JPEGs. PP will put them into a folder
of their own. Just sync them to your iPod and c your
can view them as a slideshow.
You do lose the audio however, but, this is a great
way to have portability for your presentations.
If you are a Mac user, you can send Keynote
presentations to your iPod fully functional without

Formula Syntax in MS Word and Power Point - SmartView 11.1.1.3

I want to insert HFM hsgetvalue formulas in MS Word.
Therefore I insert a Data Field from MS Excel to MS Word with the Menu “Hyperion” – “Insert Data Point”.
The result formula in Word includes an encoded Part as to see in the copy below “|SmartView 13218724230|”.
Is it possible to change this encoded part with a “normal” formula like the first part “= HsGetValue("", "Period#P03", "Account#K0")” and how is the formula syntax?
Can I insert such formulas in MS Power Point too, if yes, how can I do this ?

You first need one or more apps on the iPad that supports those document types, otherwise you won't have anywhere to store them (except as email attachments) - the iPad is not like a 'normal' computer which has a file system, on the iPad each file/document has to be stored/associated with an app. Once you've decided on the app(s) then, depending on the app, transfer may be done by the file sharing section of the iPad's apps tab on your computer's iTunes, wifi, Dropbox, email attachments etc.

Just upgraded to ML and now 2011 word, excel,OL and Power point wont work

I did the mountain lion upgrade this morning and have just tried to open MS word 2011 to do some quotes and everytime I try and open word, power point, Excel it says
Microsoft word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience
error sending is an option which I have done lots
The MS products are all legit purchased products and are for mac
Have tried software update but non are available...
Any one else had this / know a solution

Just tried totaly removing office from the mac using app cleaner
Re installed office (this is via a legit download site where I paid for the software)
Once installation was complete I tried to open word, power point, excel and OL and non of them will open keep getting the error message and an option to send a report
The updates from microsoft still wont work I just get the same message
Office 2011 14.1.0 update cant be installed on this disk. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.
LANNY everything is where its supposed to be as it was a re installation of office

FCP and Power Point

I have a power point presentation that I need to incorporate into a Final Cut project. I have no problem converting slides to video. The problem is keeping the resolution high enough to see details clearly. I have tried using power point and Keynote. Both creat files that pixelate in final cut. Any suggestions?

Just a guess . . . But sometimes if the RT (Real Time) is set to Safe it can pixelate the preview to allow a real time preview instead of a 'sharper' unlimited one.
Sometimes if you can afford to (time permitting)coninue and encode the file, you may find the resolution of your original is still there.

I'm not suggesting what Mark offered here isn't valid. But if
you don't have quite the budget in mind for Flash or Swish...
You can accomplish the sliding in of objects using a
different product. Admittedly Flash and Swish are stronger in the
flexibility area, but there are other tools out there you can use
that are in the lower price range and without the hefty learning
curve associated with Flash or Swish. One such tool I've used in
the past is called "Firestarter".

However, if you have Flash or Swish and are well versed in
using either tool, by all means use them. But my guess is that you
don't, because if you did, you wouldn't be asking the question of

i am trying to use i cloud with mircosoft word and excel but i am not sure if its compatible. do i first need to purchase pages?

The kernel failure panic kind of message points to some other activity;
as such, it may be there could be a conflict in some applications; as a
logical failure is indicated by the first part of the message content.
Whether or not any common kernel panic resolution ideas could work

If there were more, perhaps from another error log in the system, to
point to other contributing factors in the cause of this action & report,
some course of correction could be indicated; should that involve a
reinstall of certain programs (and their update files, as Office has) or
perhaps removing other seldom used applications if they were proven
to be part of conflict in the system, with Office triggering its appearance.
Some troubleshooting of this issue may point to some course of action
and if the problem is only software-based, then it may involve testing
or moving, or reinstalling some applications. There is a chance, too,
that something else may be acting up at a low-level of the system. If
that were the case, sometimes a re-install of the system on a wiped
and zeroed drive would be a path to consider to test or resolve this.
But only after other things have been tried. If you have a full backup
of the computer's contents on a bootable external drive, that would be
a means of testing the computer itself.

DVD and Power Point

Is it possible to put a movie on DVD Studio Pro and also put a Powerpoint data file. My client would like to be able to watch the movie but also be able to pull off all the powerpoint slides and either print out or put on his computer to print out at later date. I wasn't sure if you could do this on a DVD.

I made a folder and put the items in there.
I was able to check dvd-rom and select the folder off my desktop.
(I would have loved the step by step guide but that no longer appears available.)
I highlighted the disc in outline (assuming that is what is meant by upper left). Then I highlighted the disc in the inspector.
I then pressed the F3 key and as far as I can tell, nothing happened. I don't know what is meant by (...to get layout as in the image.") I don't see that the files appear in the template I'm using for the menu. I don't see the files in the outline or graphical view so I am stumped. I sure hope you can point me in the right direction from here.

Is there a way to store documents from my macbook using office 2011 for mac using iCloud?
If this is possible, is there a way that they can be in separate files from the documents on other devices?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Hyperion Smart View Error in Word and Power point

When I retrieve (Import) a report (FR) into MSpowerpoint or MS word I am getting an error message "The specified file wasn't found". Has any one faced this error before?
Any thoughts please !!!!

You most likely have a SV template set up and are trying to share that template, correct? The functions are looking for the SV xla in the bin folder, so if SV is installed in different paths, then your SV template will produce that error. When you first open the template and you get the update links, select edit, then browse to where the user has SV installed and go to the bin folder. This should update those functions.
