Clipping masks from AI jumping all over the place in AE

I have a project I've been working on for a while, and have encountered an extremely annoying bug that only seems to have appeared since the latest update...
Basically, I have a bunch of layers from Illustrator which have clipping masks within them. When I bring these into After Effects and add any kind of movement (camera, masks etc), the images inside the clipping masks jump around all over the place. Not the masks themselves, or the layers - just the images inside them.
This has only started happening since the latest update to CC 2014 - it's something I've done a million times before and it's always been fine.
Really hoping someone can shed some light on this, as I don't have much hair left to pull out...

one update - we had a look back at some of the previous projects we've produced using this technique, and it's still apparent there (so in CC & CC2014 projects) - it just seems to be much worse in this particular project.

When in organizer how do I keep my cursor from jumping all over the place?

When I am working in Organizer 12, My cursor jumps all over the place and the screen keeps repositioning itself. It is infurating and I can't get any work done. New desktop iMac using Marevick 10.9.1 and wireless mouse and track pad both slowed to lowest level. Also tried using a tethered mouse but no different. Anyone else have this problem. Is it an Apple problem?

Is it a 'Magic Mouse'? If so that's why, there are many reports that it is badly behaved in the Elements Organizer. If not, do you have another mouse you could try it with (to rule out a hardware problem)?

Analyzing then rendering...frames jumping all over the place

After sending clip from FCP to Shake, I set interlacing to <even> and then <analyzed>. Upon rendering, I found the frames jumping all over the place. And not a complete image filling in the viewer.
I watched Capt. Menches' tutorial and couldn't get things to gel.
He also mentioned nothing about <deinterlacing> I am using straight QT file, not HD.
I have just two clips I want to smoothcam effect.

It was a DV file in FCP then I exported as a Quicktime Self contained movie.
It is now called FCP Movie file with DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
When I open it with Compressor it shows this info as well: NTSC CCIR 601/DV
Also I am under the impression that the de-interlacing should be set to even, Yes?
The clip really isn't so shaky to begin with.
When I play it back in the flipbook. Some frames are on one side of the window then to the other side with some of the frames clipped.
Should I use compressor to make a different codec. I have never used that part of FCP.

Why is my page or connection jumping all over the place after my recent update to firefox 5.0

I came back from a week away and when I got on the internet firefox had updated to 5.0 and ever since then my pages just jump all over the place Why?

I have found the problem, but not sure where to find the solution as I'm pretty new to Adobe products.
I built another site to see if I had the same problem, this time I made it shorter to see if the length was the problem. I put in some elements and 'assets', added parallax scroll key frames, left out pretty much most other things to see if I could pin the problem down. I found that I had the exact same problem.
In the Muse preview it scrolls with the mouse like a dream when I grab the scroll bar and drag it down. But when I preview in business catalyst, export HTML or preview in browser, it goes crazy and won't let me get to the bottom. Further to that, when you scroll back to the top, everything is out of place and gets worse every time you scroll down and back to the top.
I have a touch screen computer and tried to scroll the screen with my finger rather than dragging the scroll bar down with the mouse. The website works like a dream when I scroll with my finger, even when I scroll back to the top everything stays in place and the whole site works lovely! I then tried the other, long website to see if this was the same case and it was exactly the same case. It scrolls with a finger like a dream, but has a fit when you drag down the scroll bar with a mouse.
My next question would be could I somehow disable some kind of touch scroll option in only the desktop version of the site, but leave it active in mobile and tablet sites? If I can do this can you please advise me on how to deactivate it, I think that should solve the problem.
Can you please get back to me with an answer to this? I would be very greatful!

My trackpad doesnt allow me to fully control the mouse on the screen! it keeps jumping all over the place and i dont knw why! i updated my computer yesterday and it was working fine but by the end of the night it started to not function properly again.

Why is the webpage jumping all over the place with parallax scrolling?

Hi all, I'm getting a little frustrated here... I've built a looooong (10,200 pixel) parallax scrolling site, when I click 'Preview' it plays like a dream, but when I render the HTML, view in browser or publish to business catalyst to view, it just jumps all over the place. I realise that the page is extremely long, I'm thinking it could be that but just need to clarify it before I rework it all and maybe find out after, that it was something else that was causing it to happen.

My iPhone 5 has really sporadic battery percentage that jumps all over the place and every so often the phone turns off

Hi guys!
I'm having trouble with my iphone 5, the battery percentage jumps all over the place. It will be down at 14% and then I plug the charger in and it jumps to 50%, it jumps around without me plugging the charger in. Today it actually turned off twice and had the red icon to plug it in and when I plugged it in it had turned straight on and was at 27%.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Its really annoying because when I'm out I'm not really able to rely on the battery indicator being correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

That sounds really similar! I'm not sure what to so about it, I bought a mobile battery pack to charge my phone while I'm on the go as this seems to make the percentage instantly jump back up again. If I don't get any ideas on here ill probably take it in to an apple store and see if I get any joy there. I'll let u know the outcome if I do go to a store, maybe I can at least buy one at a reduced rate or something. I got my iphone 5 on the day of release so I'm outside warranty too :(

My cursor keeps jumping all over the place in Mail since I installed Yosemite

I installed Yosemite yesterday, and now, whenever I try to write an email, my cursor keeps jumping all over the place. I can't write more than a few words without my cursor jumping back in the middle of one of the previous words. I makes Mail almost unusable. Am I the only one with this problem?

Similar problem. Mine seems to happen in mail - my cursor jumps to the line below and carries on typing - almost as if I'd pressed the down arrow to move the cursor. It seems to happen more when I type an apostrophe too.

MacBook Pro: I have no control of my trackpad, it's jumping all over the place ???

Pointer began moving around on it's own. I have no control over it and it makes my MBP useless. I haven't added anything new, help??

Check to be sure it is clean.
Look hard at your MacBook. Is the battery bulging? This puts pressure underneath the trackpad, and can cause it to malfunction.
Do you have a mouse plugged in as well? The mac will combine inputs from trackpad and mouse, so an additional mouse may make the cursor go all over the place.

I have the "battery guage jumps all over the place" issue, is it 3.0.1?

I have the issue with the battery guage jumping all over (I have been as high as 77% and as low as 42% in the last 15 minutes)
is there a consensus as to if his is a 3.0.1 issue or a hardware issue? The run time still seems ok, but it can be stressfull not knowing if you have 30 minutes of battery or 3 hours, when you are away from a power source. The issue has kept me from using my phone too much lately which certainly limits the usefullness of the phone.
I did not have the issue with 3.0 but also didn't have the issue with 3.0.1 for the firt 3 weeks I had it.
I have fully drained an charged the battery twice in an attempt to recalibrate it, not in anyway effective.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Kalel, I had the same problem with my black 3 GS.
I got it on the day it was launched here in germany. All the time no problems. Updated to 3.0.1 as soon as it was released. No problems for a bunch of weeks.
Then, one day the battery was completely run down over night from 56%.
After a 100% charge I had jumps in the battery status as you reported about it.
I went to a T-Mobile-Store and got a new SIM-Card. Didn´t help. Then I made a restore to new phone. And I didn´t installed the Facebook App again. As this was the only thing I changed before the problem occured; an update of the facebook-App.
Since then I didn´t had the problem. Sometimes the battery goes up for 2-3%. For example I look for new SMS, and it´s 80%. I check again ten minutes later and it´s down to 78%. Then it might be 5 minutes later back to 80%. But that happens only sometimes. Let´s say one or two times a day.
So far the battery-jump-problem seems to be solved in my case. I don´t reach the 300 hours standby as by Apple mentioned. I would be VERY glad to reach 150 hours. But I never reached this times. I don´t know. Perhaps I call the Apple Service and talk to them.

Why does my audio jump all over the place after detaching it

in iMovie HD you could extract audio then work with clips over it, in 09 I can't do anything. I extract/or detach the audio, but it is still attached or something. if you put a clip in the project widow the whole thing moves over, not just the video. So I saw the tutorials and they said you can replace a clip. but no window opens up over the clip??? any help

After detaching audio, it is easy to drag the audio to some other place in your project.
If you want to put clip A on top of a portion of clip B while keeping the audio from clip B, this is easily done. It is called a cutaway in iMovie 09.
First go into iMovie Preferences and turn on the advanced tools.
Select clip A so that it has a yellow border around it. This can be from the Event or from the Project.
Now drag clip A and drop it on Clip B at the point where you want the cutaway to begin.
A popup menu will come up. Select "CutAway"
You are done, but you can fine tune it if you like.

Messages window jumping all over the place in Yosemite?

Since upgrading to Yosemite, my Messages window (specifically, the window with the message threads in them, Cmd-0) is jumping all over my screen when clicking on the window to bring it forward or clicking off the messages window into another window or to the finder. It's not 100% reproducible, but happens maybe 25-50% of the time.
I'll be working in Safari, click on the messages window to view a chat, then click in the box to type a response and the window moves to the location of the mouse, as if I had dragged it there. Or I'll type a reply to a message, and then click onto Mail or Safari, and the window magically jumps to where I clicked, again as if I had dragged the window.
I have not experienced this behavior with any other apps or windows. Only the Messages window in the Messages app, and only since upgrading to Yosemite.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

It seems that many are reporting that if the Main (chat and Interface) window is partially behind another app then clicking on it does bring it to the "front" but the next click to do anything moves the window to that spot on the Screen.
This seems to be something to do with the focus of the window.
The people I have asked and responded have said it effects new and older machine alike, including with and without Retina Displays.
Also Laptops and Desktop seem to be equally affected.
They also report that they have not found other apps that it happens to.
Asking people to delete com.apple.ichat.plist achieves nothing even though this .plist holds the windowing info.
At this point I am at a lost as to what to suggest and feel it might be beyond the scope of User to User Suggestions.
At the same time I also think the numbers are low.

Key framed slider widgets "jump" all over the place.

I am really struggling, and losing credibility at work with the time this is taking, to get consistent results key framing slider widgets.
I have a slider widget to which I have set up and defined parameter states for multiple tags. For simplicity say I have:
- three tags at 0, 50 and 100.
- range min and max set to 0 to 100
- interpolation linear for all three tags.
I then set a key frame for that slider widget:
- set first keyframe a frame one, adjust slider to the first tag at zero.
- go to another frame and move slider to the middle point at 50. This action sets a keyframe but I notice that the 0 tag is still highlighted in blue.
- I go to yet another frame, and adjust the slider to 100. The tag at the 0 point is still showing in blue.
Now play over the range containing the key frames.
Does it cycle through the three defined tag snap shots?
No.
Am I pulling my hair out?
Yes.
Anyone have any guidance to help spare people the site of seeing me bald. :-)

I think I might have made my presentation too complicated. Here is another shot at it.
- I defined a slider widget with three tags and on the order of five parameters assigned to it for a shape which will function as a button.
- I set each of the tags to linear interpolation.
- I select each tag and set my parameters as desired (snap shots)
- I set my range for the tags to zero to two, one for each tag.
     * tag at zero, opacity of shape is zero.
     * tag at one - opacity 100% and outline of shape is medium grey.
     * tag at two - opacity 75% and outline gets a treatment of blue border and larger width.
- I then key frame the slider to move between the values of zero and two and I do not get the behaviors defined above for the color and width of the shape outline. I do notice that there is a gold capital R within a goldish square to the left of the opacity parameter in the inspector for the slider widget. It is not there for the parameters for the shape outline width and color.
What I notice as I step through frames is that the opacity parameter seems to be working but the color of a shape does not change. The first tag is still blue (highlighted) which is the color that the shape is staying at.
I think Motion is highly finicky, buggy and too idiosyncratic. I started a new project from scratch and made just one button. It worked. Then I modified the color at one of the. But this broke the animation. It’s like all of the tweened key frame around the tag were as before but just around the modified tag it behaved per the new modification. So the animation “jumped”.
I deleted the tags and started over leaving the keyframes in place. Now it works.
Crazy if I have to redo a hugely complex project. I’m hoping I’m missing something basic that someone can enlighten me to.

Cursor jumping all over the place.

Hi,
I'm hoping someone has some info or has had the same problem. Almost since day one my cursor has jumped from one corner down to the next without prompting. It use to be several times a day and now it has become constant. The store told me they didn't know of any one else having this issue, but they replaced my mouse. Still having issues. I then used another mouse and the issue is still the same. I am really at my wits end as I can't do anything without the cursor jumping somewhere else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to do in System Prefs is to open Universal Access and be sure everything is turned off. This is the most common cause of strange mouse behavior.
Under Keyboard and Mouse, first turn everything off in including the Zoom function at the bottom. Set all other controls to the center for starters.
Turn off the scrolling.
If you have a trackpad, turn on "Ignore accidental trackpad input" or even turn on "Ignore trackpad input when mouse is present."
Under Expose and Spaces, in Expose, be sure all Screen Corners are inactive.
As a precaution, if none of this helps, take your computer offline as a test and see if the mouse still moves. It's extremely remote, but not impossible that another computer has a remote connection to yours.

It's fine when it's unplugged but becomes unresponsive and juddery sporadically during charge. If I click it just jumps across the screen! Really odd.
