Clips do not line up with playhead

Not only do all of a sudden none of my clips line up with the playhead, the last 3 seconds of a large majority have become still images. Most of this damage occured immediately after emptying the trash. Please help its due tomorrow!

I don't know how to correct your problem, but I know what caused it. It's a bug in iMovie's code for emptying trash, so you may lose your entire project. So, don't EVER empty iMovie's trash again.

  • Laggy timeline, playhead line not lined up with playhead after 8.1 update!

Is anyone else experiencing this??? See attached screen shot. The white line is sticking all over the time indicator resulting in what you see below, also, the playhead line is not actually lined with the playhead itself, making frame edits completely impossible! It is driving me crazy. Have cleared all caches and deleted all preview files though this is clearly not causing this. It would seem to be a graphics card/driver issue with PP 8.1 as everything was working just fine before I applied the update this morning......silly me :-/ I am running a Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 24 core workstation with 64GB of RAM and a Quadro 5000 GPU with 2GB RAM. Help!

I'm having the exact same issue - again only since updating to the latest version. So I too am interested in a solution!
In my case I have Quadro K1000M graphics - no warp stabiliser , and it's already switched to software-only.

  • Flash Will Not Line Up With Surrounding Graphics In Dreamweaver

    Hello All:
I have been trying to get my Flash .swf file to line up with
the surrounding graphics in my page. I used the same sliced image
in the page and it lines up and for some reason when I put that
same slice into Flash, it becomes slightly skewed by a few pixels.
Here is what the page/problem looks like:

    Any suggestions?
    NOTE: I'm using Dreamweaver MX

Tyring to get pixel perfect mixing Flash & others always
    causes headaches. A
better approach may be to place you flash reference in a
    layer that sits
    over a background graphic

  • Sequence does not keep up with playhead on timeline. Shouldn't it?

    Hi!
When I view a sequence of clips on the canvas, I expect the timeline sequence to keep moving left off screen as the playhead moves right. Instead, the playhead disappears off screen to the right and the sequence of clips remains on the starting blocks. At the moment, I keep up with the playhead using the left/right scroll on MM. Is there a way of automatically syncing - on screen - the movement of clips and playhead?
    Regards.

Nope. FCP doesn't work that way.
If you believe it should, send the FCP team feedback using the FEEDBACK selection under the FCP item located in the FCP Menu bar.

  • Pixel grid does not line up with rulers

AICS 5.5 - I'm working in a doc with measurement set to pixels, showing the grid set to increments of 1 pixel. I reset the rulers by double-clicking on the origin. The grid does not align to the ruler pixels. It's about halfway between on the y axis and about 3/5 of the way off on the x axis. When I create objects with the origin and width/height set to even pixels (which makes them fall between the pixel grid lines) and save for web, the edges are antialiased.
How do I make the rulers and pixel grid register with each other? It seems odd this wouldn't be the default.

Aha - it turns out the artboards were not placed precisely on the pixel grid. Their origins were set between whole pixel values. The rulers went with the artboards, so their pixels didn't match the grid pixels.
Should be possible to just move the artboard and get everything lined up again.
Still - I would  think the grid would readjust to the origin of whatever artboard you are currently working on, just as the rulers do. It not doing so is unexpected behavior.

  • When i print a check from quick books wireless, the print does not line up with the preprinted check

    HP Officejet6500A Plus
I have printed check from Quick Brook Pro successfully using a USB cable.  When I print checks
wireless the print is a half inch too low on the check.  I loaded checks three time all with the same result

    Hi MartinR
Thank you for your reply, i have tried what you suggest, and it did not work, the i DVD opening title changed but not the embedded movie.
Perhaps it is a setting in Final Cut Express?
After capturing my footage, i open a new project then i convert all clips to anamorphic, to give me the letterbox effect, i have tried now with and without anamorphic.
In my canvas screen, the footage does not fill the square, even if i have not selected anamorphic, and fall well within the TV safe areas, but the only way to ill the canvas up is to crop it bigger, but still when i export it does not give me the full screen view.
    Any ideas?

  • Is it possible for the labels of new fields to not line up with already existing fields?

I am attempting to create a form where some of the labels are longer than others. Unfortunately, it appears that all labels have to match up exactly with each other. So, when I create a new field and extend the length of the label, it extends the length of the labels on all other fields as well. Please tell me there's a way to fix this. It seems elementary that users would need lables of varying lengths at times.

All fields on the first column share the same column width.
If you have a field to the right of another first (making it not the first element on the row) then it can have it own label width.

  • Freshly recorded tracks do not line up with existing music

When I go to play back freshly recorded track(s) from any type of audio source, they play about a half second earlier than the rest of the existing tracks. I have to manually line them up. I used Logic flawlessly for about six months and then out of nowhere this started happening. Everything in my system has remained untouched since the day I set it up and I have not changed any relevant settings that I know of. Anyone else have this problem?

It happened to me too. And I found out that somehow in the preferences my recording delay was set to minus 1000.

  • TableView column headers do not line up with rows

Right now I have a tableview with column headers that are wider than the cells in the rows of the table.
Anyone know what property or css style I need to adjust to give the cells a little more padding? I have not had any luck searching the web or these forums.

Sorry it took me a little bit to strip things down and create the project. I used NetBeans to reproduce the effect and I tried to follow the same pattern in case it had a side effect. Sorry there is so much code here for such a simple demo. I'm going to play around with it some to see if removing some of the css eliminates the effect.

  • "Export frame" exporting first frame in clip, not frame at source playhead

I'm running Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1 on a Retina MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.5.  I'm working from a project on an external drive and I noticed just today that when I go to a frame in the source window and select "export frame", it is now exporting the first frame in the source clip and not the one my playhead is on.  This has never happened before, it wasn't even happening yesterday.  I restarted Premiere and it appears to still be doing this.  Anyone seen this bug before?

  • Source code doesn't seem to line up with the compiled classes in ECLIPSE

I am trying to write a Tomcat servlet to parse an incoming message, however when I parse the message to get the parts out of it I get a a parse error that doesn't really tell me a lot.
I have downloaded the source code for the Java Mail API 1.3.2 and attached it to the jar file in Eclipse.
However when I debug the code and step through it I get two problems. 1) I get a warning that I can't see the local variables (not really a great problem). 2) The lines in the source code do not line up with where the stack says I am.
I have checked the dates on the various classes and the source of the API and they seem to line up.
I did try to recompile the classes just as an experiment but I am runing JDK_1.4.2_06 and the source seems to be set up for 1.5 and I have some missing classes. I can't switch to 1.5 because there are some other servlets running on this server that won't work on 1.5.
Can anyone give me a clue how I can at least get the the correct line number.
    Thanks

  • Poster Frame and Trim Mode not working properly with post-synced clips

    Hi Everyone-
Final Cut Pro seems to be doing something really odd and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it and if so what is the fix:
We are shooting a movie on Red with sound coming in on multitrack wav files. We downconvert the R3D files to Prores and then manually sync the tracks in the timeline.
We link the pix and sound and drag them to the bin to make our dailies. They all play, in sync. When we try to set a poster frame the issues begin. If I load the clip into the browser park the playhead on a frame and choose poster frame, the actual frame in the bin is very noticably offset (often by a few seconds).
Also, when I use the trim mode, the frames jump to a different part of the shot during trim. It's like the shot is jumping ahead or back while I hit the frame advance or recede buttons. Once I let go of the button the image jumps to the correct number of frames. But, it's very distracting if I am trying to trim, for example, to just before an actor blinks. I can't trim 1 frame at a time. I have to keep hitting the button, watching the picture jump to a different part of the shot, release the trim button and watch the picture jump back to the now correctly trimmed frame...
As a test I took some of the Prores clips with scratch track sound and brought them into the bin directly from the finder, bypassing the syncing. Using those clips, the trim and poster frames work as expected. Obviously something is going on during syncing.
I assumed maybe because the audio and pix we different lengths the clip was getting "confused", and didn't know where to "start". So, in the timeline with the synced clips, I razor bladed a few shots, linked them, and dragged them to the bin so the audio and video were the exact same length... Same issue.
I have noticed the same behavior on 2 separate Macs so I don't think its a preference or corrupted install issue.
Anyone seen this and have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    David

Yes, David, I'm having the same problem under the same circumstances. we're using merged clips made from Prores QTs and multitrk BWF files. In the trim window, the display frame jumps ahead considerably in a frame-by-frame trim, but trims accurately in the timeline. My only work-around has been to use the left/right scrub arrows in the trim window when necessary, which displays the correct frame. Sorry not to have an answer, but I saw a post on another forum from 2007 that speculated it was an FCP 6 bug. Resetting prefs doesn't help.

  • Opening Compound clips with playhead in place

Hi all - FCPX convert here loving most apsects of the app.
Little issue - I would expect that if you douple click a compund clip it should open with the playhead at the point wher you double clicked to open it - or at least at the point where the playhead is in the Primary storyline.  Aparently it doesn't - instead it remembers where you were last time you were inside the compound clip and you have to find the bit you ouble clicked on (if that maeks sense).
Is there anyway arrive inside a compound clip at the point where I i am in the primary storyline?  It's a litte tedious having to refind my spot each time.

    I find it annoying too!
Here's a little bit of weirdness for you...
Compound clips... they can only be expanded as far as the clip content length they contain. If you have a 15 sec clip trimmed to 10 seconds on the storyline -- make a compound clip of that -- then you can only expand the compound clip to 10 seconds and no further. [You can expand the original clip inside the compound, and dragging the compound trim out will reflect the new length (just for completeness)].
    What does that mean?
Trim the compound clip from the end to your playhead (snapping on makes this easier). Open the compound clip. There is an out point marker where you trimmed the compound clip on the storyline level -- it's easy to see and right on target. You can do anything in the compound clip to all of the original media -- you are not limited by the out point play range -- if the original length of the compound is important, then just make sure you don't add any content (connected clips, etc.) that go beyond your existing media that's already contained in the compound.
Back on the storylline - drag the compound clip all the way out again.
If you don't want to go into a trimmed compound... trim the clip from the back to the playhead anyway. There is a black tag with two pieces of information:
    1) the length of the media from the beginning of the clip to the trim and
    2) the offset of the trim
type command - z to undo
    In the compound:
you can use the length data to find your playhead point and inside the compound (which usually starts at 0:00) you can go straight to the time using the playhead clock (click directly on the clock or type Control - P and then type in the time you got from the trim operation - type Return or Enter.) That will place the playhead exactly where you need it.
