Clips in subtimeline not included in multitrack project

I have a movie that includes several sub-timelines throughout the projects. When I Send to Soundtrack Pro Multi-track Project, I get empty space whereever there is a sub-timeline.
How can I get all my audio clips into a single multitrack projects so that I can adjust and finetune my entire mix?

Yes, you can do those things by creating the quicktime movie and importing it into a new iMovie project.
The movie will be all one giant clip, so you will have to do 'split video clip at playhead' to be able to add titles and transitions. If you anticipate having LOTS of transitions, you might want to do as many as you can before exporting the movie. Otherwise, you will be splitting the qt movie into the same clips you already are working with.
Also, if you have already added audio clips, they will not be on separate tracks from the video as they were on the original. The audio will be within the video. The only thing that is difficult, if not impossible, to do is to redo titles that you already did in the first movie.
However, you can do some creative editing if you need to, as long as you still have the original footage. I sometimes will drag a video clip from my clips pane that has a part I think I might need in my qt iMovie to the desktop. If I need part of it, I can always drag it into my qt iMovie.
And, yes you can insert more clips.

  • Set all clip levels to 0dB in a Multitrack project?

I'm using Audition CC2014, mostly to eq and finalise audio for Premiere Pro projects... When I bring all my audio into a Multitrack project in Audition I would love to be able to set all the clips and tracks to 0dB, getting rid of any rough keyframes and levels adjustments I did in Premiere (for the rough cuts)... Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks for any help.

Yes, there is a way: simply open each clip in waveform view and choose to Normalise to 0dB!  Not sure whether you can, as it were, "Batch Normalise" a group of files?
BUT, assuming you actually mean you are working in Multitrack view (which implies a number of audio clips on separate tracks but perhaps "playing simultaneously"), any balancing you have done to differentiate those clips (as per your comment re "keyframes and levels adjustment") will be lost and so will need to be redone.
Or have I misunderstood what you are asking?
Also, remember any changes made to your files in Waveform view are "destructive" - once the file is saved the "Undos" are lost.  In Multitrack view the changes are not applied directly to the actual audio file; when you Export/Mixdown a "new" file is created but I don't think that you can "normalise" a file in that view.

  • LabView 2010 Application Builder for EXE Always Included files are not Included

In LabVIEW 2010 F2, When I am using the Application Builder to build an EXE file, I have listed 10 or so files to Be "Always Included". But when I Explore the directory where the EXE was built, those "Always Included" files are not there or in any subdirectory under the EXE file.
This frequently makes my EXE file not work properly because important files are missing. I have to spend extra debugging time to find out the the cause of my problem is missing files that the Application Builder should have transferred "Always".
Why did the Application Builder, when building an EXE target, not include the files that should be "Always Included"?
Why does the Application Builder ignore these files specifications?

    Dennis Knutson wrote:
The build does include files you select. Post an example project with a small VI and some separate files where this does not happen.
No, it does not appear that all of the files that I listed in the "Always Include" list are copied during the Build process to the Build directory or any subdirectory under that.
The Build Source Files.jpg file shows most of the list of the files that should be "Always Included". Notice the .VI and .ctl files that are listed
The Build Directory.jpg file shows the file in the Build directory that were built.
The Data Directory.jpg file shows the data directory under the Build directory and may include some of the files listed in the "Always Include", but not all of them.
The other subdirectories under the Build directory were created by me and do not include any files that were copied during the Build process.
So not ALL of the files that were included in the "Always Include" list were copied into the Build directory area as expected. ALL of the files that are listed as "Always Include" should be copied, if they exist. Those files existed when then were selected for the List and they existed at the time of the Build.
I can not include an example project that demonstrates this. I am prevented from doing so by the terms of an NDA. You are going to have to take my word that this event is real and happens the same way every time. This information should be sufficient for someone to investigate why do not ALL of the files listed in the "Always Include" list are copied into the Build directory area regardless of the file type or contents.

  • Premiere Pro Project Manager does NOT include After Effects files.

Warning: Premiere Pro "Project Manager" does NOT include the After Effects 'dynamic linked composition' files associated with the project when "Collect File and Copy to New Location" resulting in the incomplete and loss of all dynamic linked compositions in the new project destination ( folder or disc drive ) .. I know this also includes Photoshop dynamic links and assume includes Audition audio files as well.

Here's the best way: Personal Responsibility.
Put all of your project files in one file. Stop asking PPro to do it for you. It's simple. This is a no-brainer. If you create a linked comp, create it in the same file as your PPro project and files. When you send it to Encore, create the Encore project in the same folder. Works all the time, every time. When you're sure that you're finished with the project for the forseeable future, move the entire folder off your workstation into storage. Do I move a copy of each asset (video clip, image, audio, etc.) into this folder before I import it to my AE or PPro project? Yes I do. Is it overly time-consuming? Not really. I can fly on my machine. Does it beat not being able to open a project later. Oh yes. Yes it does. I'd say I did 50 projects last year this way. When I occasionally had to move a project folder back to the workstation, I had no problems. Everything worked as it did before I off-loaded it. That's because I take personal responsibility for my projects. It's imporatnat that theyt work, especially if I end up having to hand it off to a third party down the road.
BTW, my workstation is RAID 0. If you are using anything less, you need to upgrade. What I'm trying to tell you is that my system works very well. I have not always done things the right way. I have had my share of frustration. The point is that I learned. Now I'm passing that on to you. I use CS5 on an HP Z800 with a measely 12 gigs of ram and a single i7 quad core and the aforementioned RAID 0 configuration and a hacked Nvidia GTS 450. It works quite well. I'm sure I would do even better with another i7, 12 more gigs of ram and a Quadro 4000, but this is what they give me to use.
Additionally, I'm using CS5 at home on a MUCH older HP xw8200 dual dual Xeons, 12 gigs of ram and software-only MPE. Guess what? It works quite well.

Is there a way to make an audio clip not cover the whole project in iMovie? I want to add audio clip or song and let it start at a certain point in the project. Whenever I add audio or song it covers the whole project. I'm working with iMovie on IPad!

Thank you for your reply Karsten but unfortunately this didn't help me so far. Or maybe I'm missing something?
First the link is a tutorial for iMovie on a Mac. I'm using iMovie on iPad so the steps are inapplicable.
Second it is only possible for me to manipulate the end part of the sound clip to whichever duration I want. But I can't do the same with the 'beginning' of the sound clip.
I simply want to place some photos in the beginning of my video with no sound in the background then after like 2 secs I want to start the music clip. For some reason that is not possible! Cause every time I drop the music clip unto my project timeline it automatically place it self along with the first frame in the project! And consequently the photos and music are forced to start together.
    Hope I'm making sense...

  • Clips not showing up in project

I recently upgrade to FCE 2. I like the "capture now" option when capturing. The only problem is when i import clips they do not show up in the browser after capturing. They are imported into the proper scratch folder but i have to import them into the project for them to be in the browser. How can i get the clips to immediatley show up in the browser.
    Thank You in advance

Make sure you're using v2.0.3. Trash your preferences and make sure you only have one project open at a time, and the browser is the active window, when you open the capture window.

  • EJB project IDE build dos not include properties files

We have property files also which we want included as part of the build process
for EJB projects but if we use the IDE build it does not include them. We have
to therefore export the IDE build and customize it to include *.properties like
    this
    <zip basedir="${dest.path}" zipfile="${ejb.outputJar}" encoding="UTF8"> <!-- JARs
    filenames are encoded UTF8 --> <zipfileset dir="${project.local.directory}" includes="*.properties"
    /> </zip>
which causes a problem for us because the exported build file is specific to a
user's local PC and cannot be used in a team environment.
How can we have the IDE build include all the files within an EJB project i.e.
    include properties files also.

    Hey Jamie,
Currently there is no support to include other .properties files into
the internal build. There's a build.properties that you get as part of
an EJB project which you could place your values into and use that as
your template for your team based development and check that into your
    source control.
If you'd really like to get gross and hack Workshop a little bit you
could modify the default EJB project template to use your .properties
file for every EJB project you create. This would then splat a copy of
your .properties file into the root of the EJB project.
To do that you'd go to {your BEAHOME}\workshop\templates and crack open
the ejb-project.zip template zip file and merge your settings into the
existing build.properties file. This has the same
effect as replacing the .properties file after you've created your
project only it keeps you from having to perform that step each time.
The downside of this is that each person on your team would then have to
update that template zip file in their workshop installation. (I'd make
sure to backup the original template file before performing this
activity so you can always go back to the original template).
    Hope this helps,
    -Michael

  • A JE created from the AP Invoice does not include the project # on all trx

A JE created from the AP Invoice does not
include the project # for the amounts entered in the freight box. To
    duplicate, do the following:
    1. Open an AP Invoice
    2. Enter BP Code
    3. Select Service type
    4. Enter a Project Code in drop down box on Accounting tab
    5. Enter a line in the Contents; specify GL Account, amount and Tax
    Code Open Freight box
    6. Enter an amount in one of the lines
    7. Click ADD
    8. Go back to the invoice and go to the Accounting tab Click on the GL
journal note and you can see that the line corresponding to the
contents line has a project, but the line corresponding to the Freight
    box item does not.
My customer users these projects when printing GL agings and the
information is very important. Shouldn't this information be carried
forward on all transactions on the Journal entry? Is there a way to get this information to post?

    Hi Pat,
the project code (PC) on the marketing document may only be applied to the business partner (BP), hence the only row in the associated journal entry (JE) with this project code is that of the BP.
You can link project codes to specific accounts (CoA -> select account -> account details -> project code) & this project code will then be assigned every time the account is found in a JE.
If you require the project code to be applied to the freight, you may assign this project code to the account you have defined for this freight. The drawback is naturally that the project code will then  be pulled every time this freight is used, regardless of whether or not the PC is associated with the BP or not.
It is possible to manually assign project codes to every row in a journal entry, hence this should also be possible with SDK. You might explore the possibility whether it might be possible to automatically assign the BP PC to all rows in the JE using a script.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Project librarys not included in WAR file with deployment (WEB-INF/lib)

    Using JDeveloper 9.0.5.2
Project Libraries are not included in WEB-INF/lib when deploying. Although the files are selected in the deployment file at 'Contributors'. Within the 'filter' the .jar files are missing.
To solve it i have to register again (i have already made the librarys project library's) the files within Tools->ManageLibrarys as user library's.
The other workaround is to make the library's System Library's within the project.
In my opinion it is a bug that you must include the project librarys as user librarys within the 'LibraryManager'

Unfortunately no, the issue with output folder being ignored occurs only with example apps bundled with Workshop product.
You can try the following workaround:
    - In Workshop, Project > Properties - Java Build Path, switch to Source tab - "Remove the source folder listing" - Click OK and dismiss Properties window.
    - Project > Properties - Java Build Path > Source Tab, add the same source folder entry - Click OK
    - Export as WAR
With this you should see the class files bundled under output directory structure (Ex: WEB-INF/classes).

  • Sending multitrack Project from FCP to STP on another computer doesn't work

    Hello,
I attempted to search the forums but can't find my specific problem mentioned. I apologize if I overlooked it!
I am attempting to send a Soundtrack Pro Multitrack Project from Final Cut Pro 6.01 to Soundtrack Pro 2.01 on another computer. When I do, the video comes through fine but the audio fails to transfer over.
    Here's what I did:
First I open the Final Cut Project, highlight all the clips in the sequence to send and click "Send to Soundtrack Pro MultiTrack Project". I select all options including the "Fully Rendered Video" Option. This project opens up great in Sound Track Pro on the original computer. In Soundtrack Pro I "save as" and make sure I select "Collect Audio Files", "Collect unused audio files", & "Collect Video File". As far as I have read, this should be all I need to make sure all of the audio and video clips transfer together with the STP file.
However, when I place this folder (including the media files) on a external hard drive and transfer it on to our other computer (set up for audio recording and editing) and open it up in STP I get no audio. The clips visually transfer and all the clip lengths match up with the video, however there is no waveform showing. A straight line at 0db is all that shows up. I check the clips in the bin and they show the same file size as on the first computer. When I select an audio clip and take a look at the actions tab it shows the name of the clip and under it it says "insert silence" (which was not there on the original computer). When I de-select the insert silence the audio still does not play (the straight line on the waveform disappears). I try deleting the "insert silence" action and the same thing happens.
I have tried doing this operation mulitple ways with the same result. Am I doing something wrong? The only thing I can think of is the file starts out on OSX 10.4.11 and is transfered over to leopard 10.5. I just tried doing the reverse operation (creating the file from the audio computer and sending it to the video computer) and everything works fine. No idea what this means. I need this to work the other way around so I can begin the extremely intensive audio work on this film while our editor continues the video edits so thank you very much for any help that you can lend me. It is greatly appreciated.
    -Matt

Could be a difference in OS's causing the problem, but I can't say for sure. You could try using the OMF export option instead. I almost guarantee it will work.

  • Do clips need to be rendered before exporting project to video camera?

I am in the process of exporting an Imovie project back to my video camera for storage on a tape. When I start the export process I get a message that says clips need to be rendered prior to exporting. When I click the button to render clips Imovie goes through the process of rendering the clips and after several minutes the Imovie project starts to export to the camera and runs for about 2 seconds and the Imovie quits.
Imovie also gives the option of not rendering the clips.
Do i need to render the clips before exporting them to my video camera?
iMac4,1   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Intel Core Duo, 1.83 GHz

Does the project reside on an external drive? If so, make sure the drive uses the Mac OS Extended disk format, which iMovie requires.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=4176921#4176921
The crashes are most likely occurring because of external factors, not because of a flawed rendering routine. These can include the wrong disk format, QuickTime add-ons and obsolete iMovie plug-ins.

Do i need to render the clips before exporting them to my video camera?
It may depend on what type of clips they are. If they are photos imported with the Ken Burn checkbox turned OFF — which are not rendered as they are imported — iMovie will ask to render them. Do NOT allow iMovie to render the photos at this time for there's a bug that adds lots of jaggies to the images, reducing their quality.

  • Is it possible to load saved audiofiles into a new multitrack project?

    Hi
Is it possible to load pre-saved audiofiles (from previous version of a multitrack project) into a new multitrack project which includes the exact-same clips used for the pre-saved audiofiles?
I'm tempted to experiment but am afraid of adversely affecting my pre-saved audiofiles. Any tips would be really appreciated.
    Warm regards
    Peter

    Hi Jim
Well, since as things stand I can't get 'conform' to work (but hopefully it will once I install Snow Leopard and the new FCS3) I'm trying to come up with a 'workaround' to my problem.
Say, I have my multitrack project which had been sent from Final Cut 6.
Nightmare of nightmares, I realise that I need to change some aspects of my picture edit.
Conform doesn't work for me in STP2. So, as a workaround, instead I ensure that all of my audiofiles are saved (your 'save as...and collect media' suggestion).
I make some changes to my picture edit to make the video shorter.
I now need to resend my changed-picture-edit FCP6 sequence to STP2 afresh as a new multitrack project.
Now in STP2 I will be looking at my new multitrack project, which matches my updated FCP6-changed sequence.
Ahhh, as I write this I think I'm figuring it out...
My idea is to open the previously saved 'longer' multitrack edit in addition to my current 'newer' multitrack project, and then manually copy over the matching-duration 'pre-saved' audiofiles (that already have effects applied such as reduce noise) into my new multitrack project.
In other words, I will replace the exact-same clips in the new multitrack project with the clips from the old multitrack project which have effects applied on them.
I think I may have answered my own question :o) Does this sound feasible do you think?
Hopefully this will only be a stopgap workaround until I do a fresh install of Snow Leopard and FCS3, when hopefully the Conform feature of STP will be error-free for me.

  • Stuttering in Multitrack Project - pursuing a solution

Working on 30 min DV project - sent to multitrack from FCP
    On a G5 dual 2gh - 2.5 ram - 2nd internal hard drive for media - Soundtrack Pro 1.03 - OSX 10.4.5 - Quicktime 7.0.3 - m-audio firewire solo
The number of tracks I am using is 25 and at the moment they play fine.
The problem with stuttering for me revolves around clips that have been worked on in the waveform editor - removing clicks, hum, noise reduction. The clip that I am working on will play (after saving using reference) in the mix window perfectly. But previous clips that have been worked on will stutter.
And, Bounce realtime to action is not highlighted - so no need or can't pursue that course -- thought maybe would work like audio mixdown for FCP.
Have read many other posts with if not the same but similar problems. Are we facing a software or hardware problem?
Have repaired permisions - deleted preferences etc. - no change
Have had wicked crashes with too many tabs open. Have read other such posts.
    Questions?
    Is this hardware--
    Do I need more ram?
Do I need a raid drive set up?
Do I need a third empty drive for scratch (as works to make photoshop with huge files behave)?
Or are there some setup or software tricks?
Is this project too long for Soundtrack Pro?
Has anyone had this work for them out there?
Called apple support - but they want $200-799 to answer question - eventhough I just got program. They consider this an advanced problem for Pro Support and only will deal with getting program "working".
Please help - if anyone has a working solution for this - it would a great use for many Soundtrack Pro users to find a set up or working process in which this could happen.
The only work around I can think of is to work in FCP and send the files to wave editor from there. Then do final mix in Soundtrack Pro.
    Has anyone had any luck?
    Cy
    G5 dual   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Thanks Collin - a solution seems to have been arrived at.
The program was corrupted with space designer not working correctly.
(exporting with space designer - tested on a new small project - showed that it caused a huge increase in reverb than what was heard on system)
Also M-audio firewire solo seems to not cause problems.
    Now for the fix.
Using your advice, I now use space designer on a bus - because when used on a track that contains clips that have been worked on in the waveform editor to remove clicks and/or noise ( and especially more than one track), that clip will stutter - at least in large projects.
The re-install of the program did not go smoothly - apple helped me succeed at this. When re-installing - the culprit - space designer's presets and IR (impulse response) files did not appear on re-install. (saw on this board another person with similar issue) The problem was problaly caused by me - I removed the IR's thinking they could be corrupt. WARNING - If one does this, there is almost no way to re-install the program without wiping the hard disk clean. Apple helped in a work around by emailing me the missing file - and the program got up and going. I was recommended to do a complete hard drive wipe and re-install - haven't done it yet - probably should - but all seems to work okay. This seems to me more than a bit of a problem because what if the IR's do get corrupt and need to be replaced - then one must wipe the hard disk clean and start over? This is going to come up - especially since I see interesting 3rd part IR's on the web.
And, effects can not be placed in tracks, busses, and master out - in any manner on chooses. Soundtrack pro seems to work only when following "standard" audio effect placement.
    FOR LARGER PROJECTS
a working proceedure for effect placement
TRACK based effects - are compressors, noise gate, EQ, and delay, chorusing or flanging
BUS based effects - are reverbs
MASTERING OUTPUT based effects - maximizers, warmers, c4 multiband
It would be great if an audio pro post on this board - a standard working process on the use of effects - it would be great since not using them in a standard order seems to give alot of the issues that I have read about.
