Clips stretched in Canvas view with same footage from previous sequence

I created a 1 minute video to play on a laptop that I've edited down to 30 seconds. This 30 second version will be playing on a television, so I changed the Sequence Presets to "DV NTSC 48Hz" and the QuickTime video settings from "Photo -JPEG" (since I'm using still shots in the video) back to "DV/DVPRO NTSC."
I'm using the exact same clips and essentially duplicated the previous sequence and edited down the clips. But for some reason, the clips appeared stretched in the Canvas with black bars on either side, and it exports the same way as a Quicktime file. I checked the Sequence settings on both the 1 minute and 30 sequence versions, and they are identical. Any idea why the clips would all of a sudden stretch and how to resolve it?

Why? FCP can read actual picture files. Just curious. PhotoJPEG at 75%?

What was the sequence setting before? Why did you use that setting if your footage was DV?
OK...try this. Explain your workflow. What did you start out with as your settings? Why did you do this? What was your intended workflow?
If you put a DV file into a sequence setting of anything other than DV, the file will adjust to meet those parameters. For example, I edit DVCPRO HD 720p at 960x720. When I drop a DV file into the sequence, it will scale up to 150% so that it fits full screen (with black bars on left and right...200% makes it fill the screen). I have adjusted the settings on the clip.
Now, if I adjusted the SEQUENCE settings, the clip settings remain the same...still 150%...so they will appear large or distorted. You then need to fix each clip until it is right with the sequence. Or fix one and then copy and paste the attributes to the other.
Still, I don't understand why you were in a different preset to begin with. Was the first clip you added to the sequence a PHOTO JPEG still, so the settings adjusted to that?

I am using VS2010 shell. I have a matrix report where I have a row group by Year. Then I have a column group by Month.
When I run the report, I get 2013 data on top of 2014 data. Now I need to create a variance by year for each month.
So in the example below, I need to create an expression that will pull the variance for Oct 01... subtracting 2013 from 2014 for the months. So I need to Subtract 8,222 - 4290. I have no clue.

If I understand correctly, you want to calculate the difference order between 2013 and 2014 for every month. And there are only two years in the FISCAL_YEAR field.
If in this scenario, we can simply use the following expression to achieve your requirement:
=first(Fields!ORDER.Value)-last(Fields!ORDER.Value)

I am trying to call a graphical calculation view with input parameters from a script based calculation view as below but getting syntax error:
SESSION_SAMPLE = SELECT SESSION_CREATE_DATE,SHA256,CA_MEASURE
                             FROM "_SYS_BIC"."WILDFIRE/CV_SESSION_SAMPLE"

START_DATE and END_DATE are input parameters of the script based calculation view.

MDG-F 7.0 Multiple Editions with same valid from date

It appears that we are dis-allowed to create more than two editions with same valid from date in MDG-F 7.0.
that tells me that i should be extremely careful of creating an edition with valid from date because once created, I have to group all financial master data change requests effecitve on the same date into this edition. If I am missing one in first place and later on I find one that should be also valid from the same date after Edition is released, there is no way I can catch up by creating another edition with the same valid from date. Correct?
Should I create Edition with replication time option 2 - approval of change request then to avoid?

your finding is unfortunately not correct. It is true that there might be only one open edition for a specific valid from date. Nevertheless, if you release this edition, you can create another edition using the same date.

Working with SD footage in HD sequence.

Hi all -- a quick question.
I'm working on a show for broadcast...sequence settings are 720p 24.
All of the original shooting was done on a Panasonic using P2 cards -- also 720p 24.
Most of the B-roll is SD -- alot of film clips ripped from dvd's (legal --all legal), and stock footage provided as high resolution QT's downloaded from websights.
Now, my system has a Kona card and we're doing our color correct with an HD monitor.
Here's the kicker -- I've got a post supervisor who insists that we have to send out our SD qt's to be upconverted at a facility using a Teranex box.
It doesn't make any sense to me, since these qt's have been upconverted in compressor to the proper codec and look pretty great in my sequence.
Am I missing something? Why on earth would we need to incur the expense of sending these clips to post and then laying them back into our sequence?
Am I crazy?
Any opinions are eagerly awaited.

I do understand budgets and I also understand the need to keep costs low. I also understand the need to do things right the first time. Spending money up front typically results in lower long term costs, at least I like to think so.
You mention all this video that was demuxed from mpeg2 and then upconverted to whatever format of hd you're working with through Compressor looks great in FCP. My question is how are you monitoring your timeline, on your iMac? The images in the canvas are rather irrelevant as FCP provides a proxy image rather than full video resolution monitoring via either firewire or a dedicated input/output device. Unfortunately your iMac lacks this capability, except maybe through a MXO and well that's a topic for another discussion.
Changing formats means changing color gamuts, pixel aspect ratios, raster dimensions and sometimes field order. I guess Compressor will do an okay job for this but you mention doing this work for broadcast. I regularly use products made to do this job, products from companies like Evertz, Ensemble Designs, Aja, Ross, Leitch and I'll tell you, even these high dollar converters struggle with NTSC to HD upconversions at times and they do a much much better job than Compressor could ever do. Teranex makes terminal products strictly for format conversions and they are superior products.
I have no idea about your post supervisor's experience level with any of this and she should be able to explain it succinctly enough to warrant these costs. Just depends on what your producers want to do. Good, fast, cheap: it's getting to the point anymore where you can only pick 1.5 of these aspects to get a job done.

If those two same named tables are in the same database then they have to be in different schemas. If you mean they are in the same server instance, then they may be in different databases, besides the "table not being recognized" error,
anyway you should use the fully qualified table names, that is database.Schema.Table(If across instances, ServerName should be prefixed) to avoid the table unrecognized error.
Using Identifiers As Object Names
With the fully qualified names, your update statement can be like below.

Does Premiere Elements support DVCPRO-HD? How do I ingest and work with HD-footage from HVX-200?

I work with Premiere Elements 11 on a windows PC, and I try to ingest HD-footage from Panasonic HVX-200 Camcorder. Premiere Elements only recognizes thumbnails, but not the footage itself? What do I have to do? Or does Elements only support SD-footage? Do I have to install DVCPRO-HD Codec? Where do I get it then?

Welcome to the forum.
PrE does support HD material, just not all of it.
With DVCPRO HD on P2 media, I am not sure that you will be able to work directly with the media files from your Panasonic in PrE. I set my iPad exchange with same settings from my iPhone. iPad email says it cannot connect to server?

I've tried setting my iPad exchange email with the same settings from my iPhone. However, iPad keeps saying it cannot verify account. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong. There is a small chance I may have the wrong password but I don't think that's the case.

Update....following a Power cycle the iPad SW was able to be updated and iTunes recognised it!!
Note iTunes SW version is 11.1.4 (62) 64 Bit.
All cables are OEM.

View usage and details from previous contract.

I have been a Verizon customer for quite some time. I'm on my third contract. Is there anyway to view calling usage in detail(phone numbers, location, minutes) from my previous contract? I have been able to use the analyze usage tab and it has aloud me to view up to a year ago. Can I view any further in history? I also renewed my 2 year contract only 5 months ago. Any info would help.

Your account information is available on line for 12 months. Contract terms/ and renewals do not affect the history available, unless you changed the account owner.
You should be able to view your billing for the previous 12 months, call details for all of that and texting details for the last 3 months. You can call customer service and they may be able to email you pdf copies of billing more than 12 months ago.

Problems with HDV footage from sony HDR - HC9

I have a new sony HDR-HC9 cam corder. I want to shoot in hi def (HDV) format for best quality, but I produce standard def DVDs as a finished product. I was hoping to use the built in iLink conversion from HDV to DV when downloading to the computer into iMovie. I have had many problems with this.
Usually, when I set it up to do the downconversion, I see a blue screen in iMovie, although iMovie will ff and rew the camera, no images come across. I experimented with setting the camera in DV record mode at the same time as I had the iLink down conversion set, and this appeared to work. I started downloading an hour tape, and when I came back 65minutes later (after it should have been done), saw the message that iMovie had quit. Reopened the project, and saw an hour worth of footage in the trash, but it was too crazy to reorder the clips from the trash back to the clips pane.
I resigned to import in hdv (1080i) format and not mess with hardware downconversion. This worked fine. I then added some chapter markers and shared the project with iDVD. I saved the project as an image file and then mounted it to check it for errors. The video was OK, but towards the end of the project, the sound was out of sync by a few seconds with the video.
I deleted encoded assets from the iDVD project, then reburned (save as image file). Same defect.
I then started a new iMovie project in standard DV widescreen, and dragged all of the clips from the HDV (1080i) project into the time line. It took over an hour for my mac mini to run the conversion, but the movie in iMovie appeared OK. I redid the iDVD project, and saved as image file. It appears to have worked correctly (although I have not looked at it on my widescreen TV yet to assess image quality.
Questions:
1) Has anyone had any luck getting HDR-HC9 iLink HDV-DV hardware conversion to work with iMovie, consistently?
2) Can anyone comment on image quality issues with converting HDV to DV footage using iMovie software.
3) Has anyone seen audio sync problems with iDVD from HDV original footage.

Multiple Views of Same Rows from a Tabbed Pane

I have a Tabbed Pane with several Tabs that access Different Tables. One Table is the child of two different Tables, ie one foreign key on the child that that points to Table A and a second foreign key on the child that points to Table B. I am trying to have a tabbed pane that will show the childs rows one based on the Table A Foreign Key and the second based on the Table B Foreign Key.
No matter what I have tried, I get only one view from both Tabs. (NOTE: Both of the Tabbed pane that I instantiate from look completly different, ie a different sequence of fields.)
I have two distinct rowsetinfo's for each tab each with it own distinct Query. I have each MasterLink pointing to the appropriate Master, either Table A or Table B and it doesn't work.
I have tried to create additional Business components for the second view, but don't know how to link the rowset to the appropriate Business Component, if that's the problem.
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated, because I'm Lost.

I need some help. I need data from 2 tables with the same name on different SQL servers thru an ODBC connection. When I try to get the data by adding both to my datasource I get data from one or the other. I have considered creating a view, but not sure how to handle this. Thanks.

Linked Servers are pretty simple and straightforward, just do a search for the procedure.
I do have an additional comment, though. Depending on what tables you're gathering, I've found noticeable differences in performance when I use a connector to a DB on Server Instance "A" linked to "B" versus Server Instance B linked to A. I haven't determined the circumstances affecting one over the other.
If I'm not happy with speed using a connector A, I try switching to B. I like to use as much SQL code as possible, but you can't get around the connector still being a factor.
