Clock-in/out Correction Approvals

Hi all,
We implemented ESS 1.0 on Netweaver 2004s with backend ECC 6.0, now In ESS configuration guide document it says that Wofkflow for
ESS and Clock-in/out corrections is General Workflow for Documents, however when i used the workflow for Time corrections the work item appearing in the inbox points to the leave approval application, which is a table with leave types and dates is opened, my question is
why is the workitem in UWL not displaying the changes in time corrections ?
Did i miss something ?

Did you figure out as to why the entry is not visible in the UWL. I am also facing the same problem. As a matter of fact this is not aviaialable in the backend as well.?

Duplicity in clock-in/out corrections

Hi experts,
When i try to contabilizate new clock-in/out and the user is locked, i receive a message telling me that the data has been saved correctly, but that's not true, because if i go to the trx pa30, infotype 2001, i don`t have new clock-in/out corrections saved.
Later i unlock the user and modifu the hour of the first clock-in/out correction (i.e. 8:00 to 8:02) and i pass to review an save the new data. When i turn back to the clock-in/oot corrections screen, i see a strange efect. The initial clock -in/out correction (8:02) appears four times and in R/3, i have the same clock-in/out correction four times repeated too.
The SP in portal and R/3 is the last.

Dear Victor,
The Clock In/Out application, data is stored temporarily in a table before they are posted in the infotype. When you created the ClockIn four times, it was saved in the intermediate database. Thats when the application gave the information that 'Your data has been saved'. At a later point of time these data are considered for posting in the infotype when the report RPTCORPOST runs. If the pernr is locked, the postings will not happen and the records will be in the status 'ERROR'. On the next run of the RPTCORPOST will consider the 'error' records also for posting. If the pernr is unlocked this time, the data will be posted in the infotype.

Yes, your just trying with some digits which will not exist. As I mentioned in my previous reply you put the cursor in that field and press F4 key, it will show all existed pernr details.
Other wise just click on round button in that field. See below screen shots.
Click on Continue
Select employee number and double click or click on continue.
Assign your user ID as I mentioned in previous post in IT 0105 and subtype 0001.

Clock in out correction error in ESS

Dear Experts,
We are getting very strange error in clock in out correction application in ess
When we are trying to make new clock in/out entry within 2hours of system it gives us error " The date of the correction is outside the permitted processing period".
Example: If system time is 14:30pm and if we are entering correction entry of 12:30pm system is not accepting it. But if we enter 11:30am on same date, it accept that entry without any error.
We checked background config node related to define period for clock in out correction and retroactive processing permitted period.
Its all fine, but we dont know from where we are getting above error.
Please guide us.

Clock in out Correction

Hi Gurus,
How to implement Portal Clock in/out correction for substitutions. For present normal clock in/out corrections is working properly but substitutions is not working. Can any one pleas explain how to implement for substitutions?

the approval for clock in done by Rptcorapp ie via backend
usually, If the manager is absent for more than 14 days, the request is forwaded to the substitute this is in standard
also you can enhance the badi if you like
The determination of whether the approver is absent or not is done in
the BADI implementation of
PT_GEN_REQ->IF_EX_PT_GEN_REQ~CHECK_IF_ACTOR_ABSENT. You may have to
enhance this method to take into consideration for employees who do not
have IT0007 record.
The place where the checking is done is in
CL_DEF_IM_PT_GEN_REQ->IF_EX_PT_GEN_REQ~START_WF
copy all the methods of standard badi into your implementation and then implement the BADI.

Clock In/Out Correction in ESS,

While Testing Clock In/Out Correction in ESS i got following error:
The date of the correction is outside the permitted processing period.

Clock in clock corrections allows you to correct the error occured in Rptime, Please check the config in PTCOR

Clock in/out correction screen issue-ESS-urgent

Hi Experts,
We have standard Clock in/out correction screen. In the calender Work schedule is being shown ie. on weekly Off, Off is coming but public holidays are not visible like 15 Aug, this has been defined as Public holiday. So on this day Independence Day should be comng in Clock in.ou correction calender..

Currently you cant see public holidays or holidays in the calendar defined for the user, No BADI and No customisation is available for this too :(..
As calendar is not meant to see the Personal Work schedule of the user yet, though many customers are looking forward to this, Good to have this.

Message in Clock-In/out Correction

Hello everybody.
Some times when a user make a time correction using the clock in/out iView he/she gets a message when he/she reviews the correction. The message is in Spanish:
"Lista de mensajes no se puede actualizar de momento por motivos técnicos" it means something like:
"The message list cannot be updated at this moment because technical reasons", but the data is updated in the calendar.
It seems that the message list cannot be "build" at that moment.
Anyone knows...
what are these technical reasons?
can this message be customized?

Work flow in clock-in clock-out correction

Hi guys,
my clock-in clock-out is configured to have a approval process. The standard workflow "12300111" is assigned to the "WF ID New Clock-In/Out Entries" parameter for the clock-in clock-out correction. When i execute the report RPTCORDBVIEW it shows me the status of the WF item as been "started", but some how it does not turn up in MAnagers inbox even after a while.
The same WF when attched to leave request runs fine. Has any one faced this issue before. Myself not been pretty familiar with workflow am clueless as to what the issue coulc.
Any suggestions.

Hi Raj,
Isnt this workflow WF12300111 'The General Workflow for Documents'? As per help.sap.com, this is the workflow we should be using for Clock In/ Out Corrections , besides Leave Request.
I am facing the same error..ie The workflow is trigerred, but the text says 'Approve Leave request" in Manager's inbox. In fact, there is no standard screen for approving the clock In/ Out corrections in webdynpro.
Have you made use of any other workflow instead?
Any inputs on the same would be greatly appreciated?

Clock-in Clock-out correction in ESS BP 1.0 2004s sp9

hi guys,
The clock-in clock-out correction application from XSS(ESS-MSS) looks to be incomplete from a process view. In the ESS application I can see that ther eis an aplication for Employees to change clock-in clock-outs. But ther eis no approval mechansim assocaited to it. When i assign a WF to the PRocess in the customization, the request goes and sits in the MWW UWL, but the manager does not ahev an opitio to actuall approve it or reject it from UWL. I do not see any web dynpro application for the approval mechanism as we see for the leave request approval mechanism.
The documentation also never says that manager can approve from the web.
Am i missing anything here or is this the general process that Managers have to approve from the backend and no topiton to approve from MSS.
It would be silly to explain to managers that they have to access UWL to approve leave and log on to R/3 to approve clock-in clock-out corrections.
Please let me know if i am m issing anyuthing here.

The documentation provided by SAP is misleading. SAP is in process of correcting the same. if you are looking at implemeting the workflow for clock in/out correction please follow the steps mentined below.
We have done this and it successfully works.
Description : Clock in/ out correction service under employee self service has a facility to use the worklfow but there is no workflow available that can be readily used. SAP advises to copy the standard leave workflow (WS12300111) and use the same. There is an approval program available (Transaction PTCOR -> Approve Docuement) for administrator. Using the same program we will be creating an approval workflow.
1. Create a custom transaction calling report program RPTCORAPP and selection screen 1000.(ZPT_APPROVE)
2. Create another custom transaction(Z_APPROVE_CLINOUT) with following code.
Call transaction ZPT_APPROVE AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
3. Using transaction sw01 create an object where call the above tranasaction.
4. Create a custom task with the above object and method (STEP 3) (There will be no parameter passed between the task container and the workflow as we are calling a transaction only)
5. Create Copy of WS12300111 using transaction SWDD.
6. Delete the step Process Request by Employee (TS12300116) from copied workflow.
7. In the copied workflow in the Approval process instead of standard approval task use the custom task created in step 4.
8. Activate the customized workflow.
9. Under spro config please follow the link Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Services-> Service Sepcific Settings-> working time ->Clock in\out Corrections-> Processing Processes -> Define Processing Processes
Under workflow template select the checkbox Use SAP Business Workflow.
Provide the number of Custom Workflow activated in Step 8 in the following fields.
WF ID New Clock-In/Out Entries
WF ID for Deletion of Entries
WF ID: Changed Clock-In/Out Entries
Once you are done with this process then on entering the clock in/ out time the workflow will be received by the next agent defined in the rule / expression that is used in workflow.
The output will work according to the report(RPTCORAPP) if in case there is any need to make change then a copy of the classes can be created that are used in the approval report and customization can be achieved.

Tips for using clock in/out mass approval report in the portal.

Currently there is no standalone application for mass approval of the time corrections. There is no seperate workflow template for Clock-In/Out Corrections as well. So its suggested to copy the standard leave request template WS12300111 and use it for Clock-In/Out Corrections.
Usually the volume of the Clock-In/Out Corrections for approval are large. So the report RPTCORAPP is provided for mass approval of all the Clock-In/Out Corrections pending for the manager in the backend. This report can also be used in the portal in the following way. Before proceeding, I will take up an example :-
Let us assume that we are using a custom WF template 'WS99900013' for clock in/out corrections which is a copy of the standard LeaveRequest template WS12300111. The approval task is 'TS99900043' which used for approving the workitems.
Below are steps to configure the RPTCORAPP in the portal:-
1. Change the task 'TS99900043' to point to a DUMMY method. i.e. create a DUMMY method and make the task to point to the method.
2. Save and activate the workflow.
3. Create an i-view in the portal which calls the report RPTCORAPP directly.
4. In the UWL xml file change the attributes of the task 'TS99900043' to call the PCD of that iview directly.
5. Upload the modified UWL XML file and re-register the workitems to sync it with changes of the task 'TS99900043' in the backend.
6. Test the application.
Please note that the application is tested across all the scenario known to me. There might some scenario which are unknown to me, in which some issues may crop up. So I would suggest to to take a backup of the current WF template and UWL xml
file before implementing the above changes.

Time in/ Out correction details needs to be edit from ESS

Hi SAP Gurus,
I have to provide my employees the functionality where they can make the changes the in their Time IN/OUT detals on ESS. Once the detals has been modified by requestor, the same has been sent to supervisor for his/her approval.
After the approval process completed , the datails has been updated in ESS as well TEVEN table.
Please suggest how to achieve this.

Try Clock in/ out for this -
Employee Self-Service-> Service-Specific Settings-> Clock-In/Out Corrections-> Processing Processes
Create Rule Groups - Assign the rule groups to employees.
Also configure WEBMO to define rule group for customizing table in web environment.
Define Periods for Clock-In/Out Corrections - Here you can define for how many days retroactive processing on Clock in/out is possible. In can be defined in the next IMG node.
If you want to restrict Future processing implement BADI u201CPT_COR_REQu201D (implementation ZHRESS_PT_COR_REQ).
Get current request date in the BADI, and check it against sy-datum. If applied date is greater than the current date, then give an error.
Define processing process - Here you can define workflow related things. This rule is for all employees. Specify workflow template number for clock in/out and check u201CCorrections have to be approvedu201D.
You can configure:
1. Enter a processing process.
2. Select the actions that you want your employees to be able to carry out in the web application.
3. If you use the SAP Business Workflow, enter the relevant workflow template for the possible employee actions.
All the clock in / out entries will be directly updated in IT 2011 (TEVEN table)
Transation: SWFVISU
Maintain the task of the WF and the application to be launched for this task. For approving clock in / out work item, make an entry for TS99100003 which is a copy of standard task 12300097. This task is associated with a custom developed ABAP WD component.
To open this task in UWL to approve clock in/ out, make entries.
Layout of the Web Application
Configure calendar: In this activity you can define
- The scale of a cell (the period (in hours/minutes) that a cell represents)
- The first clock time displayed
- The number of rows
If required, you can specify the visible part of the day in line with the employees period work schedule. This enables you to display within one rule group, calendars in which different parts of the day are visible. This is useful if employees within one rule group have different shift patterns.
This is for clock in/out. check if you can the same service.

Doubt Clock-In/Clock-Out Corrections

Hi,
We are implementing ESS/MSS on EHP5.
I have a doubt when configuring Clock in/Clock out corrections. In SPRO "Clock-In/Clock-Out Corrections->Define Processing Processes", I left checked only the option "Corrections Have to Be Approved".
So I started the tests. I logged on with ESS user, made a correction e saved. After that I logged on POWL with the MSS user (who is the managet of the employee whose made de correction) and the entry was there. I approved, run the report RPTCORPOST and the entry was saved in TEVEN (IT 2011) table. That was perfect!!!
I went throught the second test, now with manager performing the correction for his employee. I logged with MSS user, selected the employee, made the correction and saved. In my mind, if the manager is correcting a clock-in/clock-out, it should be approved automatically. So, I run the report RPTCORPOST and the entry wasn´t saved in TEVEN (IT 2011) table. I thougth that weird, and i decided to check if the entry could be in POWL. I went to POWL and the entry was there, waiting to be approved.
The question is: Shouldn´t the entry be automatically approved when the manager performs a correction for his employees?

Clock in clock out corrections error

Hi;
We have implemented ESS/MSS.
We have employees from 4 companies accessing the portal.
Employees of 3 companies can do their clock in clock out corrections properly.But the employees of the 4th company get a dump when they click on the clock in clock out link.
The error is as follows:
The current application triggered atermination with a short dump,error key:RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE.
Can any one help us with this?

Agreed with the other poster, please include details from your system dumps ST22 and SM21 logs. In addition inspect the NWA logs on the java stack to determine route failure.
Given that you have only 1 group terminating on RFC calls, it may be that this group does not have sufficient authorisation to leverage the RFC call or it may be that they use different EP System objects (should you have split EP roles) that are not configured correctly in EP. Hard to be correct since I am flying blind, but may be worth checking out.

Clock-in Clock-out corrections using ESS

When we change the Time data using Clock-in, Clock-out corrections in ESS, it is not appearing in 2011 (Teven table). When will this, gets updated to the table and is there any tiem limit set for the updation ??

On ESS, there will be optoin to run Time evaluation. Generally the update happens after the Time eval.
