Clock is wrong after reset

The clock on my computer resets to about 5 hours ahead of the actual time every time I restart. As soon as I open the Date and Time prefpane it corrects itself, but it's still a problem. I'm thinking it may be a hardware issue because my Vista installation in Boot Camp does the same thing. I'm also not sure if it might be connected to the fact that my keychain doesn't work. (Every time I connect to a wireless network it asks me for a key, even though I check "add to my keychain" every time.)
Anyone know what might cause this problem?

Do you use a network server to keep the time, or do you rely on the internal battery?
You could try deleting the file com.apple.systempreferences.plist from ~/Library/Preferences, and see whether that has any effect.

Hi,
You need to sign in when using Photoshop Elements 12 as it is the method of activation. If you sign out it deactivates that installation.

Failure of the BBID credentials will never wipe a BB. What actually happened was you incorrectly entered your user-created device-lock password too many times, and it then proceeded with wiping the device, as per the requirements of the security level accepted when enabling that feature. There is no way to stop it.

'Requires=network.target' wasn't in it so I added it but nothing's changed. I've left it in because openVPN does require network.
As I said, I had this problem with a script so I don't think it's anything specific to openVPN. I had a weird occurrence this morning however. When I started the computer up this morning openVPN worked just fine. However when the computer rebooted openVPN couldn't resolve the host address again.

I am sure you are using BLOB cache. Try to disable it and check. I have seen this issue with BLOB cache.
Do we see some error in ULS logs and Event viewer
Use fiddler and check if there is something like 404.

MacBook Air won't wake up, and when it finally does the clock is wrong.

I've got a 13-inch Late 2010 MacBook Air that since yesterday has been very difficult to wake up. Battery is fully charged, but opening and closing it, hitting keys, pressing power button and clicking trackpad caused no response. Eventually it seems to wake up on its own after minutes or hours of frustration. The last time holding down the power button for several seconds seemed to finally wake the machine up (not turn it off as I would expect) – though holding down the power button had no effect previous times I had this problem.
When the machine finally decides to wake, the clock is wrong. Correct time zone, correct date, but slow some minutes or some hours. Eventually it will connect to the time server and reset to the correct time.
The first time I finally got it awake, I reset the PMU and zapped the PRAM, but those seemed to have no effect.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing these problems? Thanks muchly!

Exactly same problem. wake up from sleeps causes black screen (not always, but often).
moving the mouse unvovers the regular login-screen. then everthing works fine.
didn't try to close and reopen thee lid. thanks for the tip!
PRAM & NVRAM reset and safe boot already tried. unfortunately did not change anything.

After reset Mail hangs w/spinning ball on "Reading table of contents"

This problem is on a 17" monitor Power PC G4, 256mb DDR SDRAM.iMac, half ball bottom, with Mail, with Systems 10.3.9
After Reset, Mail is hanging with the spinning beach ball on "Reading table of contents." Quite a few emails are being retrieved and placed in the Dock before the hang, and Mail responds to mouse commands up to the "hang." Then a Force Quit is the only way to proceed. Other programs run OK, with Mail "hung."
The reason for the Reset is that my daughter reads "fan fiction," and can go through a hundred pages in an hour, and the computer gets so plugged up that it takes FIVE MINUTES to retrieve, then display another Safari window. Empty Cache does not help. So, to get things back to normal, a reset is required. Something went wrong on this reset.
This happened once before, possibly with OS-X 10.2, and I was advised to delete a file somewhere deep in Systems, and Mail apparently made a "new" file and all was fine from then on. My "guess" is that Mail then makes a new "table of contents."
Anybody know what file to delete? Or any other advice? At the moment, I am getting Mail with another IMac, with System 10.2

On this PowerPC with 10.3.9, what is the hard drive
capacity and available free space?
If the problem Inbox mailbox is for a POP type
account, with the Mail.app quit and using the Finder
go to Home > Library > Mail > this account named
folder (named by the user name and incoming mail
server for the account) > INBOX.mbox.
Move the INBOX.mbox to the Desktop.
Launch Mail and if successful, a new (and empty)
INBOX.mbox will be created automatically by Mail
within this account named folder when receiving the
next message with this account.
This should allow the Mail.app to function properly
again while working on the old INBOX.mbox move to the
Desktop to recover the existing messages.
Control-click on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the
Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select
Show Package Contents.
List the package content file names and size of
each here.
I have had the same problem as Jean - did what you advised and now find mail runs find but need to rescue the old mail.

Cannot share folders after resetting router

I'm on an Actiontec MI-424-WR router and have been sharing folders/files on my main pc to three other pc's in the house (let's call them Bedroom, Laptop, and Living Room). The main pc runs Win7 and the three others run Win7, Vista, and XP. The shared folders/files include music, videos, and pictures. I've had no issues until last night when I reset the router.
I reset the router by unplugging for 30 seconds. After the router came back online, I can no longer see the main pc from any of the other three pc's, nor can I see any other pc's from the main pc. The interesting thing is that when I use the "Test Connectivity" function in the router software, the test passes. Pinging thru a dos command seems to work, I get 4 packets sent and 4 packets received, but I also get an error message "Reply from 192.168.1.x Destination host unreachable", with 192.168.1.x being the pc that I'm pinging from. Pinging thru the router software fails.
The only change to my setup was resetting the router last night. The sharing worked fine right before resetting and stopped working right after resetting. So this is obviously an issue with the router. I suspected some settings I had tweaked a year ago when I first set up the router may have been reset to default, but everything I checked looks like it is still at my manual settings.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be???

If you weren't having any problems, why did you unplug the router? ("Reset" is the wrong term to use here, as it implies use of the reset button.)

Extending wireless network w/ TimeCapsule: Unable to find after resetting

Hi all!
I have found several topics about similar problems, but there wasn't any solution to my problem.
_Here is, actually, my situation:_
1. I have a wireless router that's connected through Ethernet to my provider. To connect to the internet I must use VPN, and router must be VPN-Pass-Through-capable. So I can't simply use TimeCapsule instead of my current router.
2. I have a TimeCapsule and want it to use for a printer sharing and as a wireless 500GB HDD.
So, in my opinion (I may be wrong), i should extend my currently wireless network with the TimeCapsule. But after I configure TimeCapsule through AirPort Utility, it says that it will restart TimeCapsule to update configuration. And after resetting Utility "*is unable to find*" my TimeCapsule. I've tried several hard-resets and re-configartions, but had no luck.
What should I do, to make TimeCapsule working as I told in p.2?

Lock code after reset to factory settings

I have changed my lock code from default and I remember it. Since I had some software issues, I reset the phone (Nokia 5230) to factory settings by giving the lock code.
Today when I enter (after resetting) my personal lock code, the phone didn't accept it. I tryied several times and got a warning message. Will my phone become locked permanently if I enter the wrong lock code again? What should I do? Please help.

You get locked out for increasing lengths of time before you can input another lock code upon repeated tries. Although it should not have changed, presumably you tried factory default of 12345 as one of your attempts? If all else fails a visit to Nokia Care facility with proof of purchase beckons.

External Display resolution problem after resetting PRAM

Gello, I've got Fujitsu-Siemens P19-2 monitor hooked up to my MbookPro and after resetting PRAM the correct display resolution disappeared from the "Displays" menu in System PReferences.
So did the refresh rate option...
What do I do?
I really need to change the refresh rate and the resolution, but the refresh rate button is grey and unclickable, and the resolution simply isn't there (I need 1280x1024).
REsetting PRAM and SMC didn't help.

I tried locating my device on find my iphone and the device was not there, does it mean my device has already been erased?(i resetted all content and settings) but why does it still have an activation lock after reset?
